GENERAL INFORMATION

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: Standard
  • Climate: Standard
  • Primary Terrain: Terrestrial
  • Atmosphere: Type I

LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Susi City
  • Planetary Features: Several Ruins are scattered throughout the planet. These ruins are far away from the cities, historically attached to the ancient Felacatian religion; no longer worshiped. Most of these ruins are above ground, with only a few built in underground caverns or in mountain sides. One ruin, in particular, rests on an island and in Felacatian mythology is considered the birthplace of the defunct religion.
  • Major Locations: Susi City, Kissa City, and Felacatian Senate Palace

POPULATION
  • Native Species: Felacatian
  • Immigrated Species: Humans, Biths, and Cathars
  • Population: Crowded
  • Demographics: Felacatians - 90%, Humans - 5%, Biths - 2%, Cathars - 3%
  • Primary Languages: Galactic Basic, Felacatish
  • Culture:

Religiously, there is no set path of enlightenment allowing each citizen to worship how best suits them. In the past, during the time of the first collective settlement, a religion was once prominent, but over the years it phased out. In it's place came the tradition of capitalism. Daily routines and lives, both native and immigrated, encompass the ideology of capitalism. However, their is little to no corruption on the planet, and the concept of greed is outlawed. There is a free-trade system among the planet's several industries; but only for those that produce similar materials. Among different industries and corporations, there is an excise tax in place to prevent price gouging.

The citizens of Felacat live a life without direct or strict intervention of the planet's ruling government; The Felacat Senate. For this, society thrives unabated.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Democracy
  • Affiliation: CIS
  • Wealth: Medium
  • Stability: High
  • Freedom & Oppression: The citizens on Felacat, both native and immigrated, are free of oppression. The Government, ruled by a Senate, has laws but refrain from interfering in the daily routines of the citizens. With the planet under the supervision of the CIS, the view of the CIS is split. Some respect their presence for liberating them from the Trandoshan slavers while others detest their presence, feeling they should be a stand alone planet.

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: There is a military presence, but only in the defense of the planet.
  • Technology: Galactic Standard.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Felacat has always been home to the species known as Felacatians, where they thrived as a isolated planet and species. It is rare to see a Felacatian away from their home world, hence why the plant itself wasn't discovered until the year 4,500 BBY by two Jedi Masters, Master Fo and Master Pany, when their ship crashed landed. Upon their rescue, a small exploration team partially scoured the planet. Only seeing the native flora and fauna, they recorded the planet as habitable but with no dominate or enhanced species. It wasn't until around 3,996 BBY, during the Great Sith War, that the first Felacatians were discovered by both sides of the conflict when the war spilled onto their planet accidentally. The Jedi. aiding the settlements of the Felacatians ravaged by the war, sought their assistance in repelling the Sith from Felacat; while the Sith sought to oppress and enslave them. Toward the end of the planet's conflict, a Sith slave ship was discovered orbiting the planet; all members of the Sith had been horrifically slaughtered, while a few Felacatians rescued. It was unclear how the event unfolded.

After the Great Sith War, the Republic sent financial packages along with other support to ensure the Felacatians could one day thrive as a respectable member of the Republic. What transpired was a boom for the planet and the dominating species. Quickly settlements began merging, forming the basis of the two cities of Susi and Kissa. Mining industries began cropping up along the planet, harvesting metals and other materials to trade among the other Republic worlds. Over time, the Felacatians lost their traditional ways, resorting in many ruins laying abandoned throughout the planet. The government ruled these sites as historical landmarks, forbidden to anyone.

As time passed, the two cities grew in prosperity and the planet itself became a corner stone within the Republic.

Then came the Clone Wars.

During the rule of Queen Prrt, the planet fell under siege by the CIS. With the Republic spread thin, they could only manage to send one Jedi Padawan; Ashoka Tano. Together, along with the Felactian guard and people, they were able to repel the invaders. The relationship between the Republic and Felacat had almost collapsed, but in the end; the teeming fragility had been repaired. But during the rule of the Galactic Empire, the planet and it's people suffered greatly. During the rise of the Rebellion, the Felacatians recalled their war with the CIS, and without a Jedi or a dominate Monarch to lead them; they staged their own rebellion; ousting the Imperials from their planet. Fortunately for the Felacatians, the Galactic Empire was busy with the ever growing Rebellion and Felacat received no harsh consequences.

After the fall of the Galactic Empire, the government underwent a radical change. No longer was the planet and it's citizens ruled under a Monarchy style government. Through hard work and extreme perseverance, the government shed it's final tradition and embraced Democracy and Capitalism. Through these ideals, the planet flourished.

The Gulag Plague

Like most of the galaxy, Felacat felt the harsh bite of the plague. Though their numbers were not as devastating as some other planet's species endured, the population declined. It was estimated at the end of the plague that nearly 20% of Felacat's population perished. Over the next following years, the population saw baby boom that quickly brought the population not only to positive numbers, but led to the crowding of the cities, since most Felacatians rarely leave their homeworld of Felacat.

To this day, nobody knows how the plague arrived to Felacat but there are several conspiracy theories surrounded it's presence. The theory that most accept is that it was transmitted from an offworld trading freighter.

Four Hundred Year Darkness

During the period known as the Four Hundred Darkness, Felacat suffered greatly in terms of financial standings. Though the death rate was 20% for it's citizens, the planet nearly fell into ruin from lack of offworld trading. The citizens imposed self quarantine regulations to help stem the tide of the plague which led to several companies going bankrupt.

It took Felacat another 10 years to recoup after the Four Hundred Year Darkness.

The Netherworld

Unlike most planets, Felacat was sparred from the devastating disappearances that other worlds experienced. Felacatians disappeared, but not on a grand scale. Of the 300 citizens that disappeared, 89% returned. For the 11% that didn't, several statues were erected in the two cities honoring those lost to the event.

Felacat Now

As Felacat thrived and prospered, their peace and freedom was disrupted when the first Transdoshans arrived, targeting the Felcatians and enslaving them. They tried to fight back, but hundreds more arrived abruptly taking the Royal Family hostage. Though the Monarchy had long since been abolished, the Royal Family still remains as a symbol of Felacat. However, the arrival of the CIS brought them hope as they waged a major war against the slavers; eventually defeating them and allowing the citizens to return to their daily lives. Though not all citizens view the CIS presence as positive. In the libraries, the history of the first CIS writes they came to the planet as conquerors not liberators like the second wave.

Thank you for your patience. There are just a few areas that I need to highlight before this will be ready for the second level review. As you may already be aware, planet submissions require two reviews: The first by a Codex Judge and then a second by either a Roleplay Judge or Administrator.

Due to their ability to be included on the Chaos map, we strive to develop planet submissions such that they offer roleplay opportunities for a variety of writers. With that in mind, I have some suggestions that I think will help to clarify this submission to aid your readers in understanding your vision for Felacat.

1. Major Imports

The linked Tiridium here doesn't have a corresponding entry in Wookieepedia, so it appears to be a fan-made substance. Generally, SWFanon is the wiki for things appearing outside the licensed Star Wars media; however, if this is wrong and you can point me to a licensed source for Tiridium then I'll gladly take a look at that. Otherwise, we use the Factory for player-made substances on this board. So, in order to use a fan-made substance, you'd first have to make a Factory submission.

2. Geographic Information
  • Gravity: Earth-like.
  • Climate: Earth-like.
  • Primary Terrain: Terrestrial

Referring to the Codex Rules: "Don't use specific Earth references as shorthand instead of explaining something. Ex. 'Japanese culture,' 'Medieval Europe', etc." (at General Submission Guidelines). For that reason, we'll need to work on this section to convey your meaning using different terminology.

With regard to Gravity, if you refer to the Planet Submission Template, "standard" is the Earth baseline comparison and should be used here.

With regard to Climate, again referring to the Planet Submission Template, "temperate" would be the Earth equivalent here. You might also consider whether the Felacatians are technologically advanced to where they control the environment or if there are any other relevant environmental factors of note.

With regard to Primary Terrain, what kind of terrestrial environment is this? Does it vary by region? Is it mountainous? Grassland? Is it a singular continent or several continents? Is water a major or diminished feature?

3. Planetary Features
Planetary Features: Several Ruins are scattered throughout the planet.

The major locations establish a number of cities. How is the interplay between the cities and the ruins? It is like modern day Ercolano, where the ruins of Ancient Herculaneum are literally in the middle (and underneath) the city? Are these ruins far away from the cities? In the middle of nowhere? What about this feature of the planet do you want the reader to understand?

4. Native Species
Native Species: Felacatians

Please link Felacatian here.

5. Affiliation
Affiliation: N/A

Based on the Chaos map, Felacat is located inside of the Confederacy of Independent Systems Major Faction influence cloud. As such, how has it avoided affiliation with the Confederate Viceroyalty?

As per the Codex Rules, canon planet submission "should reflect Chaos History if applicable." In which case, the events of "Freedom for Felacat | CIS Dominion of Felacat" should be borne out here and either explained or addressed in some fashion. I'd also recommend adding the CIS dominion to the links section, as a piece of relevant board lore that has specifically focused on this planet.

6. Freedom and Oppression
Freedom & Oppression: The citizens on Felacat, both native and immigrated, are free of oppression. The Government, ruled by a Senate, has laws but refrain from interfering in the daily routines of the citizens.

Same note here, as above. I feel there should be some mention of the Confederacy to the extent that the Confederate government superimposes the planet. For example, how do the Felacatians feels about the presence of the Knights Obsidian and the Confederate Defense Forces? Are those viewed as championing the planet? Or are they viewed as an invading force?

7. History
You have a solid narrative with regard to the Clone Wars, but then it abruptly ends at the Galactic Civil War and arrives at our current day. Referring back to the earlier rule about the Chaos timeline, how did Felacat fare during the Gulag Plague? How did they adapt during the Four Hundred Years Darkness? Was the planet impacted by the Netherworld event?

This would also be a good section in which to address the Confederate dominion and its aftermath or fallout. Nearly a thousand years ago, Felacat struggled to stave off a Confederate invasion during the Clone Wars. Now, roughly 900 years later, it is a member planet of the (Darth Metus remix) Confederacy of Independent Systems. How has the planet grappled with those changes?

Those are my thoughts and I look forward to yours in reply. Please tag me when you have had an opportunity to complete any edits.

This article is the source of the board lore on the Gulag Plague and Four Hundred Years Darkness, in case you need that for any future submissions.

The edited history section is well done, now I think we need only address structure. The CIS control of Felacat occurred after the Clockwork Rebellion (Post Netherworld), so references to CIS control of the planet in the modern era should be after that section of the history.

Once that's done, I believe you'll be ready for the next review.
