- Shipbuilding Facility | The FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyard's primary function is to construct large swathes of Military-Grade Vessels simultaneously. It's various External and Internal Drydock Construction Frames can build anything ranging from Small Craft to Super Capital Ships, all within the space of a few weeks to a year.
- Hangar Space | The FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyards features vast External and Internal Drydocks which can contain anything from the Smallest of Starships to Massive Super Capital Ships
- Mobile Shipyard | In addition to it's Incredible Shipbuilding Capabilities and it's Massive Hangar Space, the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyard can be moved at any time featuring it's own Hyperdrive and Mawite Path Engines allowing the Shipyard to escape capture from enemy forces and continue to operate elsewhere if the planet it orbits falls into enemy hands.
- Durability | The FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyards is capable of withstanding lengthy sieges from numerically superior enemy forces featuring a considerable amount of both Anti-Starfighter and Anti-Capital Ship Defensive Weaponry as well as featuring a Three-layer Shielding System and Shield-Force Multipliers which protects the Shipyards from Concentrated Assaults.
- Large Profile | Unfortunally due to it's large size, the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyards can be easily spotted on the Battlefield and be subjected to lengthy attacks from enemy commanders if not properly protected by some sort of Security Fleet, and while the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyard can withstand lengthy sieges, it still has it's own limits and as such can still be overwhelmed and destroyed with sufficient firepower.
- Lack of Mobility | The FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyards lacks any considerable Mobility as it is not designed to move around that much due to it's status as an Orbital Shipyards. As such enemy forces can easily outflank and encircle the FD-01 "Raptor" without it being able to outmaneuver such attacks.
- No Offensive Capabilities | The FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyards lacks any considerable Offensive Weaponry which increases the risk of destruction from enemy ships if engaged as it will not be able to inflict any lasting damage to enemy warships which proceed to attack the Shipyard, only counter their attacks thanks to their limited Anti-Capital Ship Weaponry in the form of their Yahata Defense Systems.
- Vulnerable Targets | The many drydocks of the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyard both external and internal along with their docked vessels whether they are undergoing refits, repairs or are currently under construction can be easily reached by smaller craft such as Starfighters and Bombers. As such if the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyard is attacked, the docked vessels will be vulnerable to enemy attacks along with the drydocks themselves which can be severely damaged in the process
In the wake of the Final Dawn's Conquest and Subsequent Occupation of O'reen, Derix Tirall contacted Marlon Sularen, Lord-Imperator of Byss at the time and sought out his aid in consolidating the Final Dawn's hold in the region and helping him build-up the Final Dawn's power in the Unknown Regions. As such, SularenCo, Sularen's own Shipbuilding Corporation, began works on the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyards, their first ever product designed and produced for the Final Dawn. Envisioned to be larger then the Dread Forge of Ossertion, the FD-01 "Raptor" Class Orbital Shipyard would serve as a template for future Deep Space Shipbuilding Facilities developed by SularenCo.
Upon it's completion within SularenCo's now-abandoned Secret Shipyards in the Deep Core, the FD-01 was soon moved to O'reen where it remains to this day, producing large swathes of Final Dawn Warships having become an integral part of it's War Machine and a key component in Marlon Sularen's overall plan to dismantle the Galactic Alliance. Making use of Shipbuilding Materials acquired from lol and O'reen's Second Moon (Both under the control of the Final Dawn) to keep the Shipyards in operation, the FD-01 has become known as Raptor Base or simply the O'reen Shipyards, coming to replace the Copero Shipyards recently lost to the Galactic Alliance shortly before the Maw's Push into the Core Worlds, and coming to dwarf the Dread Forge Shipyards at Ossertion in terms of Production Rate.
