  • Capital City: Falleen Throne

  • Planetary Features: Falleen is a planet replete with rainforests and mountains, with relatively few large bodies of water on the surface. Surface water accumulates and is replenished through underground rivers throughout the crust of the planet; supplying the endless humidity sustaining Falleen's rich rainforests. There are few rural communities, with most Falleen living in one of the large cities or metropolises on the planet. Travel within or between major cities is often accomplished by a network of rapid hovertrains. Those taking a trek through the vast wilderness may come across abandoned clandestine research facilities, scattered ruins swallowed by the forests, and various excavation sites for resources.

  • Major Locations:
    • Falleen Throne
The largest and wealthiest city on the planet, Falleen Throne serves as its capital with every amenity possible. Originally constructed several millennia ago, much of the city has changed, but a strong sense of cultural pride has retained a great deal of older styles of architecture within the city. It remains the heart of the Falleen people despite the many hardships they had weathered together.

    • The Court & Central Control
Within Falleen Throne stands three towering, brilliant spires. Within them and in expansive base reside many attendants, advisors, and Nobles of Falleen anxious to demonstrate their political prowess. Sessions have been known to drag on for hours as matters are endlessly debated until every worthwhile argument is played out. Only the shrewdest and most dignified are able to survive.

Elsewhere in the facility is an extensive command and control center where activity throughout the planet and their solar system is monitored. Law enforcement or military forces can be dispatched to handle just about any problem. Not that their services are needed; their reputation for putting down potential threads with prejudice deters most from drawing their attention.

    • Forbidden Palace
Just outside of Falleen Throne, through a narrow and winding mountain pass, sits a grand Palace with a large waterfall across from it. Only those invited are allowed to land here with considerable security mounted around the Palace and along its approach. The Monarch often retires here for a moment of peace and to plan their next move free of the intrigue of the Court, where they normally reside.

    • Heart of Falleen
In the wake of the Gulag plague, several scientists and engineers emerged among the Falleen with a plan to build a massive power plant able to furnish the needs of the Falleen people. They succeeded on a level that hadn't been believed possible at the time. Since then, Falleen Throne and its surrounding region has benefited from the massive power plant situated not far from the Forbidden Palace. It also serves as a local attraction where even Falleen bask in awe at such an achievement; a testament to their greatness. Should Falleen Throne come under attack, this power source supplies the energy necessary for the city's defense as well.

    • Ruins of Shahuria
An abandoned ruins deep within the rainforests of Falleen. Further research opportunities exist with a number of Falleen educational facilities eager to set out to learn more of the unspoiled history of their world.

    • Underground Rivers
With most of Falleen's surface covered in forests, mountains, and plains, there are no massive bodies of water. A number of seas of varying size exist, but nothing extensive like many other worlds. Instead, Falleen has a great deal of water freely, if slowly flowing deep beneath their feet. Some channels carved out by the water are said to be large enough to float a boat down them; though you will find no help in the deep, dark places of the world should such an attempt go awry.

  • Native Species: Falleen
  • Immigrated Species: Human, Sluissi, Chiss, Twi'lek, Echani, and a few other species.
  • Population: Heavy with 1 Billion sentients largely contained within major urban centers. The Falleen prefer build up and at higher density more than they do outward.

  • Demographics: Predominantly Falleen with a relatively small percentage of alien species. The Falleen prefer to keep their own company or that of the few alien species able to display considerable discipline and cunning. Anyone found 'lacking' in their ability to control themselves or demonstrate their intelligence or business savvy often finds work difficult to come by and a government that scarcely acknowledges they exist.

  • Primary Languages: Falleen is the official language. Galactic Basic is learned by Falleen that seek to take advantage of the riches the galaxy has to offer, and the opportunities involved in off-world trade. Those alien species given license to live on Falleen are expected to learn the language.

  • Culture:
    • Daily Life
Falleen work hard and play hard. One does whatever is required to get a job done, and while complaints after hours among associates is acceptable, open disrespect and hostility to one's superiors is not. After grueling hours of work, however, men and women are free to enjoy their personal time however they see fit within the lax law and strict social norms. Whether that's learning a new skill, attending a party, planning a heist of an off-world target, or maneuvering into a position to bring down a rival Noble House there is not shortage in things Falleen can do.

    • Education
All Falleen are expected to complete Fundamental Educational curricula. The tests are grueling and often unforgiving, just as a parent's scorn for failure; nevertheless, the schools boast high graduation rates. Many Falleen are encouraged to pursue higher education, but it is not expected of them unless they are a member of a Noble House or intend to pursue a career in a Scientific, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematical field.

    • Legal
While the Falleen command discipline of themselves and others, the general population is free to enjoy many freedoms found on other worlds. In fact, there are some activities permitted on Falleen that are often outlawed throughout the galaxy -- such as the use of narcotics or prostitution (provided one does not begin to openly exhibit unacceptable behavior). Even acts of piracy or smuggling are rarely prosecuted if the victims are not of or employed by Falleen. Legal and illegal commerce alike is of particular importance with the various Noble Houses gladly flaunting their latest financial successes.

    • Religion
Pockets of deity worshipers can be found in the cities of Falleen, though Ancestral Worship is perhaps the largest form of 'religion' among Falleen. Recognizing the achievements of those that came before serves to install a sense of racial pride. It also demonstrates to younger Falleen what they are capable of it they put their hands and mind to a task. Some leave small offerings to signal their recognition of ancestors, and even whisper soft prayers hoping for spiritual guidance.

    • Discipline
All sentients are welcome to show affection, laugh, and enjoy the bounties of Falleen. However, there is a strict social expectation where open displays of anger (or Falleen losing control of their skin tone in public) and violence are neither acceptable nor tolerated. The ability to control one's temper is expected of all sentients.

Likewise, little empathy will be shown to anyone that falls for an 'obvious' scam on Falleen. Cunning and a silver tongue are uplifted among the Falleen, just as prudence and self-control are. A wise member of society will known when it is best to exploit others, and when it is better to not exploit them.

  • Government: Monarchy
    • Falleen has been ruled over by a Monarch for as long as anyone has recorded. The King or Queen has held varying degrees of power over the course of the government's existence, with a Court filled with Nobles of little and great renown alike. Political intrigue is a matter of course and of pride; rather than wage war among one another, the Nobles enjoy drawing an invisible blade across the opposing House's throat.

    • Since joining the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the reigning Monarch has taken an active interest in representing Falleen among the Viceroyalty. Even off-world, they remain supported by the countless advisors and Nobles eager to earn favor or a name for themselves. A planetary steward or government ensures day-to-day governance of the planet proceeds smoothly while the Monarch is away.

    • As of 860 ABY, there are three banches of government on Falleen that answer directly to the Monarch: the Military Commander (Duke or Duchess), Planetary Steward or Governor (Prince or Princess), and the Leviathan Ring Heads (leaders of several Noble Houses).
  • Affiliation: Xazzex Xivar, Empress; Confederacy of Independent Systems

  • Wealth: Wealthy - Falleen's industrial sector grew tremendously over time, and as a result the planet as a whole has maintained a strong supply of credits by locating additional resources off-world, and manufacturing safe and dangerous materials or resources. Pursuit of countless legal ventures throughout the galaxy, and a long and storied history with illicit activities has also brought credits, connections, and renown as a people of cunning and ambition.

  • Stability: High - Immigration of non-Falleen species are carefully screened, processed, and documented. Anyone found on Falleen having flouted their immigration laws are punished severely. Likewise, the vigilant members of local law enforcement are always monitoring for anyone that disturbs the peace by exhibiting uncontrolled or outlandish behavior. As a result, law enforcement is known to 'disproportionately accost' non-Falleen sentients the most as few other cultures demand the same stringent social behavior as the Falleen. Regardless of species, however, all criminals will find Law Enforcement and Military Personnel alike conducting formal investigations to be a most unwelcome presence -- their concern is not with appearances, but in fact and swift resolution.

  • Freedom & Oppression: Falleen Law Enforcement is not sympathetic toward criminals. However, the law is often quite lax provided the crime is not committed against other Falleen, or those employed by or guests of other Falleen. Provided a member of society is able to refrain from disturbing the peace, littering, acts of violence or vandalism, burglery, larceny, rape, or murder you can often avoid legal entanglements or even talk your way out of something being put on the books. Public appearance and order are paramount in Falleen society.

Political dissention is not openly suppressed by the Falleen government. Like everything else political on Falleen, however, it is often quietly manipulated, destabilized, and/or discredited. If someone plans on starting a "movement" on Falleen they had best have a keen intellect and a sharp tongue -- blades and blasters will convince no one of anything (other than such a person is a threat worth being shot in the street by Law Enforcement).

  • Military: The Falleen possess a substantial navy as they prefer to secure their own solar system from unwanted guests, and to ensure their sovereignty. Ground forces are also trained in the event that Falleen is invaded, but they do not have a massive standing army as the Falleen do not believe in warring between themselves. Much like their Law Enforcement, Military personnel prioritize efficiency and effectiveness above appearances or empathetic displays. Overall, the planet possesses a number of weapon and defensive systems to ensure its protection.

  • Technology: Above Galactic Standard - While not producing massive innovation for the galaxy at large, the Falleen have developed a number of innovative products for themselves. Furthermore, their lack of commitment to abiding every law or treaty outlawing some technology or substance leaves Falleen free to research, develop, and produce things other planets refuse to -- satisfying markets otherwise eager for a supplier. Acquiring schematics for such products can in turn enrich Falleen's own portfolio of technologies.

The Falleen, so far as archaeological and bio-chemical research has born out, are the native species of their home planet. They evolved there and established the foundations of society through long and arduous toil in creating their interstellar feudal way of life.

Preferring to manipulate the bothersome sentients of the galaxy from the shadows to suit Falleen's purposes, there have been very few rulers -- or would-be rulers -- that sought to involve themselves openly in galactic affairs. Their people's history is one replete with returning to the anonymity of their own system whenever thrust into larger events.

// Legends Canon
  • Prior to 3996 BBY - Falleen joined the Galactic Republic.

  • 22 BBY - Galactic Senator Zurros represented Falleen during the Clone Wars. He served as a double agent for Count Dooku until Falleen openly joined the Confederacy after the Count forced the Falleen King at saber-point to comply.

  • 7 BBY - A bacteriological research outpost was established on Falleen, from which a highly-destructive flesh-eating bacterium was mistakenly released. Darth Vader ordered orbiting vessels to raze the laboratory and the surrounding city to stop the spread. Two hundred thousand Falleen were killed, including House Sizhran. Research continued unabated despite this calamity.

  • 26 ABY - Following the destruction of the Fondor shipyards and Hosk Station, the Yuuzhan Vong invaded Falleen.

  • 29 ABY - Following the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar (Coruscant), Falleen resumed its status as an unaligned and isolated world from the galactic community. For the next eight centuries Falleen would largely stand alone, having experienced enough of the dream of being a galactic community that worked together. The collapse of the Republic into the Empire had said more than words could express.

  • 138 ABY - The One Sith sent the Darklight to bombard Falleen into submission. The plan was foiled by the crew of the Mynock and Rogue Squadron. It would only be another year before the One Sith fell, and Falleen once again was secure in its neutrality.

// Chaos Canon
  • 424 ABY - Falleen required no assistance in reconstruction.

  • 425 ABY - Falleen instituted a 'draconian' containment of their solar system as the Gulag Plague sweeps through the Outer Rim. Most refugees are turned away or destroyed for attempting to violate the quarantine. Few had sufficient pull or influence to arrange for a temporary place on a remote moon within Falleen space where those fortunate few are screened for the plague.

  • 835 ABY - After four centuries, Falleen has recovered from the fallout of the plague that affected its people despite every effort to contain it. As a people historically lacking interest in the galactic community, their way of life and economy emerged relatively unscathed, however. Able to act quickly on new opportunities, members of Falleen begin to spread into the galaxy and establish footholds in commercial and criminal enterprises once more.

  • 844 ABY - The sudden disappearance of the living into the Netherworld introduced a rare bit of friction within Falleen society. Some began to wonder if outsiders in the galaxy are capable of conducting themselves in a fashion that doesn't place Falleen at risk despite their isolation.

  • 847 ABY - With the Galactic Alliance pushing back against the One Sith, the Falleen through various shell companies and proxies supported the effort given their history with the faction. A careful game plied by the Nobles to keep the outsiders at one another's throat, while ensuring the safety of Falleen with the One Sith's fall.

  • 851 ABY - The defeat of the Galactic Alliance sent Falleen back into isolation. Whether the newly formed Sith Empire or the First Order posed a threat remained to be seen; while nearby a newly formed faction intent on spreading its influence rose -- the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

  • 856 ABY - While the Falleen had made strides in cleaning up generations of pollution, especially in the Yellow District, the economic toll of those efforts and galactic affairs could not be ignored. The Confederacy of Independent Systems extended a deal to the reigning Monarch at the time; they offered to assist in completion of cleaning up the Distract, and established a new, White District in its place.

  • 857 ABY - Xazzex Xivar began solidifying connections within the Nobility after witnessing the friendly acceptance and praise for the Confederacy's assistance by the reigning Monarch and now Viceroy.

  • 858 ABY - The Monarch abdicated the throne citing a litany of assuaging reasons for the public. In truth, the Nobility led by Xazzex Xivar gave them little choice. As a result, Xivar became the Empress of Falleen and the new Viceroy.

  • 859 ABY - Further efforts were made to consolidate power among the Nobles. Toward this end, Xazzex Xivar established alliances among those engaged in a variety of criminal enterprises, and formed the Leviathan Ring -- a Falleen led and controlled organization distinguished from the Black Sun whose name had as of recent years had been used by others.

A very comprehensive submission that lays out the Canon lore and dovetails in the Chaos development quite nicely. This is an excellent example of a planet submission. I have only 2 requests.

1. Native Species (Link)
Native Species: Falleen

Please link Falleen here.

2. Immigrated Species (Link)
Immigrated Species: Human, Sluissi, Chiss, Twi'lek, Echani, and a few other species.

Please link Sluissi here (I'll admit that one sent me to Wookieepedia to look it up).

Once those changes are done, I think this will be ready for the next review. Please tag me when you have completed your edits.

Greetings. I've added the requested links. I also linked the other species for aesthetic and some reference purposes -- except Humans because Humans.

I also added Alden as the source of the Section Header images; I recently heard he was the source of those.

Please let me know if anything else is needed. Thank you.

The History is very detailed - I'm a fan of that. Concise and in your own words. Nice job.

Just a few tiny things:

1.) Major Imports: Ores - You don't have to link anything that isn't rare, but, you do have to state what's there. (Ex. Durasteel Ore)

2.) Legends Canon History Section: You excelled in putting this in your own words, however, I would link " // Legends Canon" to the page it was pulled from. Or place the link/links beside it with an [X] to show it credit clearly.

That's all. It's nice to see a Chaos updated Canon world. Tag me when you're ready and I'll take another look.

Thank you. I made the requested changes.

I also made a few small additions to Exports as well, and included a few substances and gases in addition to ores.

Linked to the Chaos Timeline article section for cross-reference convenience and future updates. Plus a few present to past tense changes made in this section as well.
