    • Gravitic Stabilizer
    • Chaff
    • Integrated Scanner-Blocking Field
      • Installed within the host platform itself, the scanner-blocking field does nothing to hide the host’s sensor signature or emissions, but it does prevent most types of sensor pulses from penetrating the hull, thereby concealing the nature of its operator(s), armament, defenses, cargo, and other miscellaneous systems.
    • Decoy Flares
      • Briefly emits bait heat and energy/electromagnetic signatures which are engineered to replicate the host craft’s drive signature and can even be set to match the host craft’s speed, in an attempt to decoy an incoming IR-guided missile.
    • All-Aspect Countermeasure Missiles
      • FAE/WH-04 Universal Missile - Pink Vapor Payload
        • Nano missiles loaded with a small payload of Pink Vapor. Intended to function as an energy weapon countermeasure.
      • FAE/WH-04 Universal Missile - Nagnol Gas Payload
        • Nano missiles loaded with a small payload of Nagnol Gas. Functions as a sensor obscurant.
      • FAE/WH-04 Universal Missile - Plasma Payload
        • Nano missiles loaded with a volatile gas payload that produces a plasma detonation. Functions as a warhead seeker and antimissile missile designed to directly interdict and destroy incoming missiles or drones.
      • FAE/WH-04 Universal Missile - Ion Pulse
        • Nano missiles that produce an ionic/EMP detonation. Functions as a warhead seeker and antimissile missile designed to directly interdict and overload incoming missiles or drones.
      • In light vehicles and smaller host platforms the smallest countermeasure nano missiles are typically installed, FAE/WH-04-S1. Small craft generally use the FAE/WH-04-S2 size, while capital ships, stations, and emplacements use the FAE/WH-04-S3 or S4 sizes.
STRENGTHS
  • Intelligence: The oversight Prism Core droid brain is very intelligent and is capable of making snap decisions with data from its own sensors and that of the host craft. There are situations where it will choose not to intercept a missile if it is close to friendly assets, to allow them time to escape its blast radius. Alternatively, it may also choose when to intercept an incoming warhead, in order to mitigate damage. These are only two out of countless examples of the circumstances and decisions it can operate within under chaotic battlespace conditions.
  • Aggressive Defense: The countermeasure missiles are incredibly aggressive, fast, intelligent, and resistant to countermeasures and electronic warfare. They are able to reliably intercept and destroy fast, hardened targets with extreme efficacy. They are also capable of executing sharp maneuvers to keep up with evasive warheads, drones, starfighters, missiles, and/or other threats.
  • Tractor Beams: The shearing plane and gravitic stabilizer allows the host unit to quickly and reliably slip out from tractor beam locks.
  • Information Denial: While it doesn’t block the host unit from showing up on sensors or scanners, the integrated scanner-blocking field prevents sensor pulses from penetrating the hull, thereby robbing a potentially hostile actor the ability to fully analyze the host’s capabilities before an engagement.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ammunition: Only so many countermeasure nano missiles, flares, and chaff charges can be ferried into battle at a time. Once they are out, the pilot(s) and/or crew will be forced to rely on maneuvers and other means to evade incoming missiles.
  • Not Independent: The FAE/S-03 does not include its own sensor or targeting system. These must be supplied by the host unit for the module to link with. If these systems are substandard or not present, the FAE/S-03’s effectiveness will be hampered in turn, making it significantly less efficacious than advertised.
  • Area of Effect: Intercepting and detonating missiles with a large area-of-effect can be risky. If the warhead is not intercepted early enough or is close to the host craft by the time it is intercepted, it could very well be caught within the missile’s blast radius. Furthermore, any friendly fighters which are close by could also be caught within the explosion.
DESCRIPTION
A basic suite of countermeasures designed to be integrated with various small craft, vehicles, and other platforms, the FAE/S-03 Inclusive Countermeasure Module is a less demanding system than a full electronic warfare suite, making it ideal for inclusion in most small craft designs. Functioning primarily as a warhead countermeasure, the FAE/S-03 also includes a number of utility systems to counter tractor beams and to deny information to a potential enemy prior to an engagement by preventing sensor pulses from penetrating the hull of the host unit.

The modernized version of the FAE/S-03 Inclusive Countermeasure Module includes several notable upgrades. In particular, the FAE/S-03 is the first FAE-produced system to use the company’s new droid brain, the FAE/IN-01 Prism Core. This allows for blazing fast cognition and intelligence that further facilitates the FAE/S-03’s rapid response capability.

From here, the modernized FAE/S-03 is designed to fully link with the company’s Unified Engagement Network and the Symbiotic Ghost Link. Finally, the module’s countermeasure missiles were upgraded with the company’s own universal missiles, improving their ability to interdict hardened targets.

Ultimately, the FAE/S-03 is anticipated to continue in its capacity as a basic staple system for starfighters, vehicles, and various other platforms. Where the previous generation of the FAE/S-03 proved extraordinarily robust, the modernized version is hoped to propel it far and away beyond rival systems on the market.
