TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Sword - Atrisian Katana
  • Size: Average
    • Blade Length: 76 cm
    • Hilt: 25 cm
  • Weight: Average - 1.2 kg
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Mono-Molecular Edge - Treated with Svolten Rhyolite, the sword’s edge can retain its integrity and cutting power even after undergoing hard impacts with the blade of a lightsaber or with especially dense materials.
  • Poison Reservoir - The Pellax has a poison reservoir that is compatible with a range of different poisons, treating the blade with the poison inside the reservoir. However, only one poison type can be deployed in the reservoir of a single blade at a time. Naturally, the reservoir can be left empty as well, should the wielder choose it.
    • Devaronian Blood-Poison - Devaronian Blood-Poison has the potential to cause extreme, potentially debilitating pain upon making contact with a victim’s flesh with even a glancing hit.
    • Senflax - Senflax has the potential to induce paralysis or numbing effects in a victim’s body. It can also compromise a person’s focus, possibly disrupting their ability to harness the Force.
    • Blood Boiler - Arguably the most gruesome of the compatible poisons, when introduced into a victim’s bloodstream Blood Boiler has the potential to turn their blood into acid, possibly inflicting excruciating pain and even causing a victim’s body to eat itself from the inside out.
    • Sith Poison - Most often utilized against Jedi and Light-aligned warriors, Sith Poison has the potential to amplify the rage felt by a victim by triggering a chain of chemical reactions that diminishes their ability to resist the Dark Side.
    • Mgehye ot Lloig | Ruiner of Mind - Mgehye ot Lloig has the potential to inflict a wide range of effects on a victim, the most prominent of which might include vivid, terrifying hallucinations and weakened willpower.
  • Trapped Grip - Allows only the designated wielder and anyone she permits to activate and wield the sword. The hilt will discharge a potent electrical energy field in the event that the weapon is handled by an unauthorized agent, with the potential to cause severe burn injuries to the victim.
  • Resilient Construction - Owing to its resilient construction, the Pellax is extremely resistant to lightsabers, vibroblades, and energy weapons.
  • Repulsorlift Engine - The Pellax has a miniaturized repulsorlift engine capable of independent flight at typical speeds of 250 m/s. The sword can be remotely controlled by the wielder via a bio-hexacrypted, wireless connection, often done via neural or droid interfacing.
  • Gyroscopic Stabilizer - The Pellax has an integrated gyroscopic stabilizer, which improves the stability of the weapon in flight, ensuring that the blade stays aligned with the target.
STRENGTHS
  • Aerial Assault - The Pellax is not only deadly up close, but also at range. Its repulsorlift engine is capable of independent flight and the sword itself is balanced for throwing, should the wielder choose to do so.
  • Stealth Missile - The Nykkalt coating makes the sword extremely difficult to detect and lock onto via threat detection systems, sensors, targeting systems, and/or scanners.
  • Void Stone - The synthetic Void Stone integrated into the Pellax makes the sword extremely difficult to detect or counter via the Force. However, since only a minute amount of the material was incorporated into the weapon, its effects are largely negligible in disrupting a Force-sensitive individual's overall connection to the Force. The radius of Force disruption is only just wide enough to cover the sword itself, thereby protecting it from the Force. Even so, the Pellax isn’t recommended for Force-sensitive wielders, unless the Void Stone is removed.
  • Beskar Breaker - The grade of Fyrirdögun used in the Pellax is comparable to beskar in strength and resiliency. As such, the sword is capable of cutting through beskar and similarly resilient materials, with its cutting power generally surpassing that of a lightsaber.
  • Poison Edge - The Pellax has a poison system to treat the blade with a given poison inside the reservoir. These poisons have the potential to inflict a host of deadly effects, possibly compromising a victim’s ability to fight, in the process.
WEAKNESSES
  • Energy Shields - Particle-based energy shields are capable of blocking a strike from the Pellax.
  • Overload - Depending on the vicinity and power quotient, EMP and Ionite discharges could overload the Pellax’s electronic components, disabling their repulsorlift engines and preventing the sword from being remotely controlled by its wielder.
  • Blaster Fire - The Pellax is not capable of deflecting blaster fire, making it somewhat dangerous to attempt doing such with the weapon, as blaster bolts will explode on impact against it.
  • Acid Spit - Due to its Fyrirdögun construction, the Pellax is susceptible to damage from acid weapons, which are capable of eating through the material and possibly rendering the weapon as little more than a hunk of degraded metal.
  • No Fly Zone - Repulsorlift jammers are one of the most effective counters to the Pellax's flight capabilities. They can negate the repulsor fields generated by the engine and subsequently slow down or even ground the weapon to varying degrees of effectiveness depending on a number of factors pertaining to the repulsorlift jammer in question, including power quotient, distance, intensity, and yet more.
  • Concealability - While typically wielded with one hand, the Pellax is a physical blade that can not be readily concealed on person in the same manner as a lightsaber. It is very much a battlefield weapon.
DESCRIPTION
An ancient design with modern capabilities, the FAE/M-03 “Pellax” Aerial Katana takes the concept of a sword to the skies. Capable of independent flight, the Pellax is designed with the ability to engage enemies from afar and up close. However, this capability is far from the weapon’s only boon. To counter the predictable response from Force-users to simply take control of the weapon via Telekinesis, the sword has a minute amount of Void Stone in its hilt, which is enough to potentially disrupt the Force within a small radius the size of the weapon itself, but little more. The Pellax also has a poison reservoir that can be filled with a range of compatible poisons, imbuing the weapon with deadly effects that have the potential to compromise a victim’s ability to fight.

Unfortunately, while the Pellax cuts better than a lightsaber, it isn’t as concealable as one. Repulsorlift jammers could also disable the flight capability, grounding the weapon and limiting the wielder to melee engagements, unless the wielder physically throws the blade towards a target. Nevertheless, the Pellax is hoped to be a successful application of repulsor technology weaponized in melee weapons, offering dangerous range in a type of weapon that is normally limited to melee combat.

Finally, the FAE/M-03 “Pellax” Aerial Katana is named after one Darth Pellax, Dark Valkyrie of the Kainate Sith Kabal.
