DESCRIPTION

The Eta-2 ‘Midnight’ Jedi Starfighter is the primary source of transportation and the personal starfighter of Lucien Dooku. It was first discovered by him while he was visiting the space station of Rorak 5 above the Hutt-controlled world of Rorak 4. The Eta-2 Interceptor was initially in the possession of a Hutt crimelord of considerable influence in the system, and it took the Jedi a number of favors before the Hutt was willing to discuss the exchange of the craft into their hands. The antique, all-black interceptor was eventually purchased after haggling the Hutt to a more favorable price, which still amounted to a small fortune once it was all said and done.

Once safely out of the system with his newly-purchased craft, Lucien brought the interceptor to a trusted spaceport to inspect the data located within the ship's computers. The outcome of this data-mining brought up a series of interesting points about not only its origin, but its history leading up to its final acquisition by Lucien. It had been in the possession of the Hutt for around three-hundred years by then, who held no desire to utilize the craft for anything other than having it on display among the horde of antique relics which he owned.

It was discovered that the original owner of the Eta-2 interceptor was a Sith Lord from more than eight centuries past, who called the specific interceptor now in his possession his own along with a fleet of copies as well. Lucien was able to determine that the copy which he owned was neither the original interceptor in the Sith's possession nor had it ever been flown by the man directly himself. It was instead kept in storage for future use; battle-ready, but eventually lost to time in a storage facility dating from the era of the original Galactic Empire.

The storage facility would remain undiscovered for over two-hundred years before it was rediscovered and put back into use by the Jedi who originally found it. Over time the starfighter exchanged ownership between a myriad of Jedi over a period of three centuries, and surprisingly it received meticulous care despite being put through the ringer across the years. It's long history of use did mean that eventually most of the internal parts were no longer stock to the interceptor, as the active use of the Eta-2 did necessitate the replacement of its internals along with small portions of its hull. Granted the hull itself was surprisingly unscathed for the most part, albeit a bit aged by the time he bought it; a clear sign of the skill possessed by the previous owners who once flew it into battle.

Lucien maintained the tradition of keeping it as unscathed and flight-worthy after both it, and the droid it came with, became his. He also kept the interceptor's custom visage; a mixture of solid and charcoal-black color tones covering the hull and a darkened cockpit tint to match. The aesthetics were pleasing, and the interceptor flew well enough to get him where he needed to be for the next couple of years. Yet it was by no means close to reaching the same capacity of performance that it had once been capable of in the golden years of its lifespan. This realization brought Luc to seek out a proper company to take assist in the full recreation and restoration of his prized interceptor from the frame up, which he'd later come to rename the Eta-2 'Midnight-variant' Jedi Starfighter.

This variant of the Eta-2 ‘Actis’ Interceptor would keep the same design and combat philosophy as the original, with most of the deviations stemming from the weapon systems available, and the internal systems that were horribly antiquated by even the most relaxed specifications.The new and improved design led to a complete modernization of the Eta-2, and in his opinion, the creation of a superior model when stacked up the variants produced at the peak of the clone wars.

Much like the original, the Midnight-variant is most optimally piloted by a force-sensitive that’s experienced with handling fast and maneuverable starfighters. With the inclusion of a C-31a “Dog fight” Inertial Compensator built into the craft, along with multiple maneuvering jets placed along the underside and top, it’s ill-advised for an unsuitable pilot to her unless they care little for the safety of their lives. The module provides the ability to rotate independently of the ship’s momentum, and while this does come at the disadvantage of making Midnight the complete opposite of user-friendly to most pilots in the galaxy, with Luc [or a similarly-skilled pilot] behind the wheels, she transforms into one of the most potent variants of the Eta-2 to have ever been created.

This has further been optimized thanks to the assistance of Locke & Key Mechanics, who were contracted by Lucien thanks to their stellar reputation among their customers. The inclusion of various subsystems, such as the Minerva HUD system, LK Hermes, and Loki EWAR system greatly contribute to providing user-friendliness both in and outside of combat. The ability to both have and access all the information you need on screen at any time is a boon when one might find their hands preoccupied. The LK Hermes would solve the Eta-2’s inability of sending/receiving encrypted transmissions naturally. The final set of software sourced from L&K Mechanics, the Loki EWAR system, would provide Midnight with a first and final line of defense when the pilot’s ability isn’t enough to decide the course of battle.

As far as weaponry goes, the Eta-2 ‘Midnight’ utilizes the same stock laser cannons that originally came with the starfighter. The two ion cannons were removed in favor of a pair of missile launchers, which are capable of being loaded with various types of missiles; concussion, proton, unguided rockets, cluster, etc. The final and most important addition would be the inclusion of a miniature hyperdrive module, which while not as efficient as many of the current modules available on the market, it does serves the purpose of getting him from point A to point B without the need of an external hyperdrive ring. It also allows him the option of segueing instantly from combat to hyperspace if needed.

In the latter half of 860 ABY after his entry into the New Imperial Order, Lucien's Eta-2 underwent a a final series of modifications and refitting to expand upon the previous reproduction done by Locke & Key Mechanics. Contracting the Republic Engineering Corporation to expand upon Locke & Key's designs, the end product would result in the Eta-2 "Midnight-variant", a modern-generation, highly-advanced Jedi Starfighter which sits at the head of its class.

Right off the bat, I am going to need you to do the following:

These can be done in the way of providing links to the Marketplace threads/posts where you purchased the items, providing documentation of agreements made with the manufacturers (e.g. Locke and Key Mechanics, Blackwell Industries/Jaeger Solutions), or similar 'proof' of permissions granted. There is a section provided for this in the OOC Information area of the template.

Second, please hyperlink the name(s) of the manufacturers to their appropriate entries on Wookieepedia and/or their SW: Chaos company or profile pages.

Third, please provide hyperlinks to any and all materials used in the starfighter, i.e. durasteel, alusteel, etc. as found on Wookieepedia or elsewhere.

Fourth, please provide hyperlink to the Eta-2 Actis-class Jedi Interceptor as it is found on Wookieepedia as your primary source, as well as to the 'original starfighter' which you speak about this being a 'rebuild of' several times in this submission.

Howdy, that should take care of all the permissions and stuff. Regarding the final point, when referring to the 'original' starfighter, that's referring to the base Eta-2 before it was modified and all that, so just a stock, canon Eta-2 interceptor. The 'rebuilding' and wording is more or less just fluff to support the lore.
