Matsu looked at the breadth of what the silver jedi could do and there was always a combat or saber class.. usually combined... or a force skill but she had made herself a jedi master not just because she followed the light and the code. She understood different skills and groups... she went for the knowledge and as the jedi master descended from the construction efforts of Silver rest. The recovery appearing to go well and she looked out upon it. She held a hand out.. slowly allowing the matter in front of her to arrange itself quickly. Art of the small in a way that only a few she knew could manifest. That helped in some cases and she had set this up... a better means to get to know some fo the silver jedi who were going to be under her guidance as well as gauge more so where she could lead them. She wanted to give opinions, hear thoughts about other orders.. the sepulcher had been lost and that was a hub for force orders throughout the galaxy to come if they were threatened and preserve their knowledge. ONe of the things lost when the jedi left voss and that region of space. Kashyyyk was wonderful but they had left behind a great gathering place. Her hands came out and she spun around shaping the earth and moisture in the air... letting the dirt rise up and hardening it into mud that was heated for ridges to comfortably sit in the garden. She had ideas of what orders to discuss but knew a fair amount about others in the galaxy few went with.. she had sought to learn from all of them.

Caltin had received the message that his presence was requested, and while he did not necessarily have the time to do so, he would want that respect returned to him, so here he was. A simple gathering place, and while the big man was not sure what "Skippy", as he called her inwardly, wanted to do it was clear about one thing. This was going to something in the way of a history class. Maybe that is why he was here, to provide a natural point of view. Maybe it was simply because she wanted another Council member to be here as well. Either way it was more than okay. The Massive Jedi Master had been taking a "step back" in a lot of respects and it had made things easier in that respect.

There were a few Padawans as well as Master Ike, but he spoke up quickly and quietly so as not to draw all of the attention to himself. This was her "gig", and she deserved the respect of having control of the goings on. Besides...

This way he could grab an extra cup of caf! Of course this came with the ritual of acknowledging the Jedi who got him hooked on this drink.

Caedyn's arrival to Kashyyyk came with great surprise and concern to see the reconstruction efforts of the Silver Rest. He hadn't heard the news of an attack against the heart of the Silver Jedi Order, otherwise, he would have come as quickly as humanly possible to race to its defence.

Upon reaching the Temple Grounds, Caedyn found that Matsu Ike and Caltin Vanagor were present, among others. "Master Vanagor, Master Ike" Caedyn greeted them with a smile in his approach, bowing to them both once he had stopped walking; his smile faded quickly as he turned his gaze upon the sight of the Silver Rest once more, "What happened? Is everyone alright?" he asked, turning back to look to Matsu with a furrowed brow and a worried gaze.

"I'm sorry that I wasn't here to assist, I've been moving between Coruscant and the Outer Rim Territories recently, trying to offer my services where they're needed. I had no idea the Silver Rest was in such a state..." He frowned, admitting his ignorance of the situation before him. He had come in order to attend a group discussion that Master Ike had arranged on the subject of Force Orders, never having expected to learn of this.

the two masters joining her brought some interest and the jedi master remained where she was. A few of the padawans who were around her looked up at them and offered bows... Matsu bowed in return as Caltin had been here but Caedyn she could update. "There was an attack, explosions and a lot of danger but we pulled through thanks to our talented masters." She said it and looked at Caltin nodding her head in thanks he was one of them, Sakadi, herself and Or'fol as well as others who had come to help. She remained there and spoke... "But welcome, if you are here for the class well we can begin and others can join us if they wish. I wanted to try and bring some esoteric knowledge for the padawans and others... most will only know the jedi or the sith... maybe they will meet another group or hear about them but they could look at other traditions with suspicion and distrust. I was hoping to discuss but also name a few different ones."

Patting Caedyn on the back. taking a seat, and then a sip, his attention went to the Grandmaster. This was her gig, her thing, so he would sit and listen. There was some that he could add to, but not much so it should be an interesting experience. People tended to forget that during his time, there was more than just The Jedi Order, the Silver Jedi existed, the Green Jedi, there were more.

THe silence met her but the jedi grandmaster was allowing the force to guide her and a chance for all of them to well have a discussion was there. she presented the place as a few of the padawans were around them. One hand coming out while she shimmered the force around it to make an illusion for them. "We'll start with something simple, the witches and nightsisters of Dathomir... old in terms of force groups but they are still younger then some.. depending on who is telling you they were created by a jedi who crashed on the world and taught them... or they were always there and the witches came from them. Different perspectives can change the legends."

"I've always been curious about the Witches of Dathomir" Caedyn replied, speaking honestly in his intrigue of the Force-User Group; "Their abilities are most intriguing according to what I've read about. The stories make them out to be sorceresses, wielding dark magics but it is just another form of Force manipulation is it not?" he posed the question to Matsu Ike curiously.

Caedyn Arenais had never come across a Dathomirian Witch in his time, however, he did know that there were still covenants of their kind out in the Galaxy, some remaining on Dathomir itself. According to his latest run-in with Darth Ahriman, Veiere's own Clone had been trained by such people and empowered through some form of ritual. The changes to Valen had been immense and hugely corrupting. It had been a battle that Caedyn had struggled to walk away from.

Sitting back, he thought about his own education on the subject when he was a Padawan. They were indeed creepy, but had their own approach and connection to the Force.

If I remember correctly. The Witches of Dathomir were a group of Human Force-sensitives native to the planet Dathomir. They were also known as the Daughters of Allya in honor of the wayward Jedi Knight Allya, who was banished to the planet around 600 BBY, and who they regarded as their ancestor. By the time of the Galactic Empire, Allya's descendants had divided into female-dominated clans that were named after regional landmarks. Each clan had a unique set of rules regarding Force usage, but all the clans, bar the Nightsisters, held one rule above all others: "Never concede to evil".

She listened to them and moved her hands shaping some water and infusing it as the ichor formed into green mist between her fingers. "Quite right... they use the force in a way that is different... unique to them but fundamentally it is just like a jedi. We spend hours forming muscle memories for reflex and mental staate to use an ability they coax it out of themselves with words or movements." She said it and wriggled her fingers to make the gree mist dance while holding it out for some of the students who were there. "With it you can do more physical and personal enhancements, make yourself faster, hear better, see further and have a grip on the smoothest of surfaces."

The jedi master tapped. "Stronger spells go to a place the jedi rarely touch, altering the natural world unnaturally... forcing the weather and even reanimating the fallen. Dark things that should be avoided and for the most part the witches will... it is the nightsisters who will tamper with the natural order... but they alsoboth make tralismans of tranformation which allow one to alter their mind and body briefly into another creatures by ensnaring its force essence within an object and they can use it briefly to alter their own bodies. I don't recommend it but there are always ways to combat such things and protect yourself."

She stopped and looked at the two and the others. "Now who can tell me another interesting fact about the Dathomiri?"

Truth be told Caedyn didn't have a lot of experience when it came to Dathomir, personally. He had heard things about the planet, and about its supposed Dark Side Nexus that remained there. "What I have heard is that Dathomir is a rather harsh climate and its people are typically hardened by nature of living there. There's a strong resemblance to the Zabrak Race, if not direct descendants of those residing on Iridonia but alas I do not know the specifics for why or how this is".

"It is also said that the presence of the Dark Side of the Force is unusually strong on Dathomir. It was once put across to me that there might be a Nexus of Darkness there, however, this was word of mouth and I can't say for certain myself".

Mairéad had come to Silvers Rest for no other reason than to learn. She had not been around a formal center of education since the day she learned of her power, and whilst she she learned a lot from Barefu Shysa and then Stardust Solus Skirae , she was curious. She listened closely to the others, that seemed to know each other, as they discussed the dathomiri. Mairéad was familiar with at least one of those witches, a personal friend of Stardust. Mai herself had been called a witch many times, but she had almost nothing in common with Asaaj En Kelsani .

Waiting for a moment to speak "Hi, my name is Mairéad. I am curious whether all force users fall into one of these categorisations? I myself have usually been referred to as a witch, but i wouldnt put myself with the dathomiri or any established group i am aware of." Mairéad's force presense was seeped in darkness owing to all of the traumas she had suffered, but she was trying so hard to detach her powers from her emotions. Maybe one of these people would understand her issues.

"I am primarily a cryokinetisist, but i dont know any orders or cults that have a similar specialisation."

Drinking from a bottle of blue milk, the big man listened to Caedyn and made sure to stand in respect when Mairead walked in. They both gave strong answers, but he had one that would top the both of them. Not that it was a competition.

On the surface of Dathomir, the structures known as Star Temples housed the so-called Infinity Gates, portals of interstellar travel, these Gates were actually built by the Dathomir locals known as Kwa. The Kwa are telepathic aliens with intellectual prowess and superspeed. A thousand years before the Galactic Republic, the Kwa were a galactic power in their own right. However, centuries later, their power dwindled when the Nightsisters slaughtered them in great numbers.

She listened to them and their facts with a smile on her face... another joining them who offered a new take had the grandmaster grinning while she weaved through the students listening. "Hmmm and have you used an Infinity gate master Vanagor?" She said it and looked at him and Caedyn wondering. "They are not unsimilar to hypergates, a little coppery on the tongue but overall one of the better mthods for travel if you can manage to maintain the power and connection." She turned to look at the woman and nodded. "Maaybe not a witch, a shaper as they have worked to work with elements. cryokinesis isn't always the best... drawing in heat and making people crystals isn't very jedi or lightside."

She said it and looked at the woman feeling what darkness could be there and moved her hands. "Though shapers themselves come in just as many flavors if you know how to look." Her hands moved as she breathed in and then out... letting small droplets in the air form from moisture and crystalize into ice before throwing it into the air. Crackling sparks from excited atoms making friction over her palms for a moment. "THey can be a little showy as well." She said it and brought a few more but looked at some of the younger students. "The witches also ride atop tyrant rancors... bonding with them from a young age." She smiled with a couple of them but looked at the others.

"Now witches and shapers, weavers and raiders... what kind of group should we discuss next?"

Or'Fol was mostly sitting and listening to the class, as was usual for him. He was taking in the information on the witches of Dathomir, a subject he wasn't actually well read on. It was interesting hearing about these various orders, outside of his usual area of studies. The other mentioned were interesting too. It was unique to hear, that was for sure. He gave a quick chuff from his blowhole before speaking up calmly.

"I know from my own studies the Jedi Orders of old don't exactly line up with those that exist today on particular issues. While I know some of our own hold more traditional beliefs, are their any orders as a whole we know of now that continue to follow the ways of these old Orders?"

[Mig Gred]

Mig was... honestly, he was more busy getting Ilyushin and Souma to pay attention. These boys would be the death of him. He just wanted them to learn... and he put Leddie Gred through this so it wouldn't be fair not to have them learn it too. Plus Souma had already shown some Force sensitivity, and while Mig had begun to start his training, learning about how others use the Force was important in his mind.

He nodded along a bit, thankful that the twins seemed content to learn about Witches, thank the Manda. It was also interesting to hear what Mairéad had to say on the matter. Honestly he never thought about her not seeing herself as a witch, but he'd also never heard her discus any dislike either. Then Illy seemed to be distracted.

"Hey, pay attention. If you listen we'll get a treat, ok?" That usually worked. Little reward for listening.

"Surely that is a matter of application?" She supposed to Matsu Ike "I can freeze my own body to resist injury, or create a shell of ice to protect others? Isnt that better than the Jedi who cooerces another person to obey him with a mind trick?" she was curious, not confrontational. Mairéad had certainly used her powers in the ways the grand master suggested, she had tortured men for information by freezing their skin, and remembered her fight with the mandalorian Vulcan Krayt where she crippled his leg by freezing it. But her powers cant be inherently dark? Can they?

Mirroring the party trick created by Matsu, she held her glass of water and grinned as an intricate treeikenice crystal rose from its surface at her command.

Looking at Caltin Vanagor Mai wondered if she had ever encountered a larger man in her life, probably not amongst her human allies. "The interstellar gates? Do they still work? It seems like they could be an incredibly powerful tool if they could be utilised, or better, reverse engineered?" grinning and thinking what Ivory Stroud and the Family might do with such technology she made sure to make a mental note.

Letting out a visceral sigh and a bit of a chuckle, the big man really did not want to answer this question. He life had been a bit of a contradiction, several times over in his life. Which is why this particular tidbit was a bit of a memory he would rather soon forget.

On Dathomir, there was a den of Nightsisters, who along with their "Nightbrothers" and "mother", attacked a Star Temples and slaughtered the Kwa who inhabited it. They wanted the Infinity Gate to use it to destroy Coruscant. Those who know their history know that a certain Kiffar Jedi Master turned that wave back on them and stopped the plan. What you don't know is a certain big fool of a Jedi Knight/now Master was there as well, and slowed their advance allowing the other Jedi to complete his task.

The grandmaster listened and spoke with a look on her face and the barest hint of a grin. "It would be if someone could reverse engineer a hypergate or infinity gate wouldn't it." She said it and didn't mention that they had such technology on several of their ships for getting to the surface of planets and even get to the other temples on the planet if needed. She hadn't been joking about the gateway in her office... they could get to Ahch-To and Ossus, Coruscant and Lothal or even the jedi megastructure outside of the galaxy. "As to using it and a mind trick it is situational.. influencing the mind to avoid conflict can save lives at times... sucking the heat of a limb until the blood and cells run cold and crack damaging the arm serves very little situations aside from sadism."

She said it but wasn't condemning it, it could also be used if the influence didn't work or means to convince them to stop... it was why some people lost limbs to keep them from trying to harm others while some others might only need the contact burn to make them think twice. The jedi master was looking aat some of the things though and she listened to Caltin speak as she offered a nod of her head. "Don't worry Master Vanagor you will always be remembered by us for your deeds. Also for your cooking... that is a big one and students this is important.. he hasn't yet tried to bribe the grandmaster for special privileges by supplying food bribes.... so applaud." The encouraging smiles she gave got the little kids listening to applaud
