Biome "Alpha"

Following the briefing and sharing some files, Arlen retired to her own little corner of the studio. Not to sleep - as if she'd sleep around a group of strange bloodthirsty Sith and mercenaries - but to meditate for the mission ahead.

Early in the next morning she injected herself with a stimpak, then set off for the Biome Alpha by speeder, traveling alone to avoid suspicion. The city blocks just got more run down the closer she got to the biomes where poverty and pollution were the worst. She landed a few kilometers outside of the perimeter of the biome, sending her speeder off by autopilot, then proceeding on foot. Along the way, she assumed a new appearance by means of a masquer. Arlen Rossi had then become Patricia Walker, a poor middle-aged homeless Chandaari down on her luck. She suppressed her Force signature and took on the role as one of the downtrodden masses of Chandaar.

Entry into the biome under disguise was a breeze, officials not looking too closely at her forged records (provided by her local contacts). Once past the checkpoints, she pretty much had free reign across the green zones of Biome Alpha. While waiting for the rest of her team to trickle in by their chosen methods, she took the time to tour the biome and learn the layout of the area and the patrol routes of local security forces.

When her team did finally assemble, she finally made her way to the community center, checking in under the auspices of obtaining shelter. Inside, she moved about the compound conducting more surveys and quietly setting up for the impending Silver arrival. It was a simple matter of her getting into the security room and creating a backdoor into the systems. Outside the community center, her counterparts completed this process at the local precinct and comm station. Now the biome was theirs to control once the time came.

From there, it was just waiting at the community center until the Silver Jedi finally came through. They all had their own wing reserved for use, which made things easier. She kept an eye on them while maintaining a comfortable distance until night came. Then she returned to her assigned room, just waiting, allowing the Jedi and their accomplices to get comfortable before she moved onto the next phase of the operation.

Leah found herself to be in agreement with her fellow Noble, she thought it would be a more intelligent move to analyse all of the options and methods available, alongside what spending plans the Biome had before they committed to any form of spending. With that promptly discussed, she then focused on occupying herself for the rest of her stay until it was time to finalize things. To begin with, she had heard that Beatrix was a skilled healer of sorts, technique to ease the wounds of war.

Leah had not been witness to the likes of rapid tissue degeneration and cancer. She was mainly sheltered from disease by the expert healthcare surround her planet and the area she lived in within it. Galidraani people did not often fall to plague or invasion of any kind. Leah thought that it might be in her best interest to follow Duchess Chaucer and witness the sick and dying.

She was able to keep herself surprisingly stable, her usual issues with being in such areas were slightly diminished. As she strolled through the med-area, she would hand out cups of Tea to anyone who was in a fit state to ingest fluids- several people suffering from hypothermia seemed to appreciate that a significant amount. Other than that, she received several grateful nods and gestures of thanks as she weaved her way towards Duchess Chaucer.

Leah arrived next to her just as the Noble explained the function of her plasma. For Leah: who had little to no knowledge in the field, she was quite shocked by this claim. Her eyebrows raised in pure disbelief. She did manage to wipe that expression off her face quickly however, pulling up a unoccupied chair from nearby and lowering herself into it. Bringing her own cup to her lips and taking a sip of the soothing liquid. She wanted to see this cure in action. Winsclav materials mainly focused on shipbuilding, automated ships or droids to treat the wounded with such a formula would help save more people that she ever thought possible. The possibilities were endless!

Leah then promptly snapped herself out of her entrepreneur oriented thoughts, her serious and remorseful air returning as she gazed around the room at all the people who were still in such bad condition, holding back vomit behind a quick cough and a grimace. She hoped this Plasma worked, both for her sake and theirs. She didn't want to lose herself in front of these people, being one of the many bearers of hope to arrive at the Biome recently.

After making her bold claim with the plasma treatment, Beatrix found herself surrounded by a small crowd as she prepared to work on Timothy. By then she had gone through disinfection procedures and a change of clothes into grey scrubs. The treatment wasn't exactly invasive in comparison to standard surgery, but she always liked to be on the safe side as it concerned any medical procedure.

She stood one side of Timothy, holding a large glob of plasma within a glassteel container, the viscous colloid itself having a slight blue tinge. Any Force Sensitive within the bunch could see that the plasma was imbued with Light Side energies, that particular spectrum of the Force ideal for cellular regeneration. Modern medical firms like Panacea had learned how to marry the benefits of the Force with conventional medicine to enhance the effects of their treatments and devices.

She uncapped the container and began to draw out the plasma with nothing but the Force until it hovered in her hand as a perfect sphere. "You may feel an initial sting as the plasma passes through the skin and begins the cleansing process, but once that gets going, then the pain will subside and you'll experience an anesthetic effect."

Timothy nodded, and she could feel that he believed her as he witnessed her command of the Force with a small sense of amazement, never having seen the employment of telekinesis firsthand. Force Users were relatively common in this era, but were still an incredibly rare sight for the average sentient.

"Very good, now let us begin..." The sphere began to break down as cascades of plasma flowed downward in a controlled descent. The plasma initially pooled on different areas of his chest, but soon disappeared from view as it all seeped through skin pores and past protective membranes to fuse with the tissue.

There were a few shudders of pain from Timothy as the plasma spread and began to latch onto toxins and abnormal tissue, but as she promised, it quickly passed and would leave him with a soothing feeling of relief as the plasma also worked at regeneration.

The initial fusion process took about a half an hour altogether, and results could already be seen on feeds from bioscanners observing the progress. Both containments being removed, and the spread of cancer halted. Beatrix hovered over Timothy after delivery, personally following the progress of the plasma through the Force, the colloid almost semi-sentient as it actively sought out diseases.

Eri'anya sipped the offered tea quietly, eyes following along as the conversation before her went back and forth. Money. Aid. Investments. Timelines. It was all just a little beyond the small duelist's grasp and she was more than willing to allow the others to figure it out. She was here to carry things, pat backs, and generally be helpful to the more capable people around her. The first order of business was to finish this amazing cup, at least until things wrapped up here. Fortunately, all the financial cross talk died down before too long, and the Knight found herself once again looking for a way to help out.

Some time passed, and Eri'anya found herself making regular rounds back and forth across the floor of the medical facility. She was no doctor, but she could follow instructions well, and it felt good to do what little she could. Some patients needed a doctor quickly, others just had questions or comments for the Jedi. Some of them just wanted someone to talk to for a few minutes, and any new face would be a source of comfort in an otherwise bleak situation.

Eventually she found herself drawn towards this Duchess Chaucer, interested in some of the things she heard the woman saying about some new brand of medicine. From what she could understand, this was meant to involve the direct application of some form of plasma, removing any impurities from within. It was a little beyond Eri'anya's experience, but not wholly unbelievable, and she was more than a little curious to see how it worked. She wasn't fond of the idea of wasting time, but as long as it truly had no side effects beyond that waste, it was definitely worth a look.

About an hour passed, and Eri was more that a little intrigued by this new development. Somehow she had not sensed it, but the force was clearly working through the Duchess, its power a key factor in this healing method she had demonstrated. While it had taken some time to prepare, it was still a marked improvement over the more standard medical practices she was accustomed to. It was inspiring in a way, and reminded Eri of just how much she had left to learn about the force and its applications.

Some hours later, Eri'anya was just finishing her nightly exercises before going to bed. Her provided room was more than comfortable enough for any Jedi, but she was just feeling too on edge to properly relax. While there was nothing inherently malicious in the air, no warning signs blaring, the idea of letting down her guard felt exceedingly irresponsible as the minutes ticked by. She wasn't sure if it was all the armor and weapons her allies had brought with them, or if was just her blood running hot from her recent workout. Perhaps she was just looking for an excuse to stay awake, and an after dark patrol was relatively noble as far as distractions went.

Her course decided, The Jedi pulled on her robes and boots, clipping her sabers to her belt before making her way into the night. The dome overhead afforded her an interesting view of the sky above her, the strange coloration making for a disarming vista among all the death and sickness outside the walls. It calmed her to think of this isolated oasis she found herself in, beating a brisk pace as she began her rounds for the night.

Maybe she would check on Master Kitra first? She was fairly certain she was staying close by...

"How do we even get the required expertise to make such forensic auditing, given that it is, as you said, a necessity to combat corruption?" the king asked.

"Your Majesty, the IGBC will offer to pay for the specialized training of forensic auditors as part of the deal to be struck between Your Majesty's government and us"

Jessica was happy to answer any query from any of the officials present in this new round of negotiations: the whole notion of forensic auditing seems foreign to them, and, in fact, to most Jedi: the king had no idea that forensic auditing was a thing. There's something wrong here: someone is trying to assassinate her, she thought, while sensing a dark pulsar of death headed her way, likely to be out for either the King or her, and potentially both. There are two possible parties that want her dead: the Galactic Empire and the First Order. Now, which one is more likely to try to get her skin, was more likely to be the GE in her experience: even if the authorities in Knossa were somehow replaced by people more sympathetic to the First Order, she knew that, if such was the case, they would have their reconstruction work cut out for them. Operating a protectorate this far away from FO-land would be made with the expectation of long-run benefits, at a minimum, so rebuilding would have to begin almost immediately.

"And all the training costs of specialized personnel required as part of the bailout plan"

Biome "Alpha"

Just about everyone was sleeping within the community center, and within Biome Alpha in general. As Arlen waited for the time to come, the Sith resorted to quiet meditation whilst prone on her bed, staring up blankly at the ceiling with the false grey eyes of an old woman.

3 AM came. The Witching Hour. She sat up on the bed and fished out a plasteel tubular container from under her layers of threadbare clothing. She popped open the top, and then spiders began crawling out from the tube and over her hand, tickling the skin with the tiny barbs on their legs. Six in all, moving all across her fingers and palm until she focused on them with telepathy. They stopped in place, turned, then became rigid as their beady black eyes locked onto hers.

The hunt begins. she told them. Get her. She shared a basic layout of the building with the spiders, and images of Kitra, showing them where to go, and who to bite. When she finished transmitting the images, the spiders dropped off her hand one by one, skittering away for the air vents.

She capped the container and stuffed it back under her jacket, and then touched her the side of her neck to activate her throat mic to issue commands over heavily encrypted blind band comlinks.

"We move, Delta and Sigma, get into position and begin. Alpha and Brava, remain on standby." The three-man Delta team had the responsibility of pump the coma gas into the ventilation system. The Jedi among the bunch could possibly resist the effects of the gas with abilities like curato salva (which is why she had the spiders as insurance), but as long as it knocked out the guards and bystanders, then the gas attack could still be deemed a success. Meanwhile, outside of the community center, a larger Sigma team (six) moved quietly seize control of the biome's comms and surveillance systems to delay reinforcements and cover their retreat.

The operation was finally in motion, and she would trust Belgerath to fulfill his part at the palace. She started shedding the clothes of her disguise until she got down to a snug fitting jacket covering her tactical vest and shoulder holsters, making it easier to reach for her weapons. In case the operation went off rails, she was prepared to take care of Kitra personally.

With the proceedings out of the way, the little gang went about their own business for the rest of the night. He had no more questions. Their plan was set and they merely Leon had spent his time during the night meditating himself, immersing himself into the darkness of the night. That voice continued to plague his mind, but he managed to keep its corrupting influence down as he thought over where he was. He had floated around in this dark void for a few years at this point. Sometimes he had wondered if he was doing the right thing, but he remained steadfast. He had to overcome the darkness... He had to... Its power would be what he needed. He would need nobody in his way... The Jedi would have to die. Merely stay out of his way. With them cowering in fear, he could continue with his training, research, and other such matters that were admittedly more important to him.

Before he had known it, the day of reckoning had arrived. He could feel a sort of tension in the air. His head ached a bit, but it would not be an issue. He could call upon such pain to drive his abilities further. He noticed that "Tapioca" had already left so perhaps he would meet up with her in case she needed any backup. Being alone with her objective regarding the Grandmaster in mind would not be wise. Also, he thought it would be more fun to go that way.

He recalled where she said she was going so he got up, left the studio, and began to head for this biome on his own. He kept a low profile and moved discreetly to not arise any suspicion. "Let's see... I recall the directions she mentioned to get to this place... The way... The district..." Leon began to think to himself. He noticed that the buildings around him began to grow even more dilapidated and the air even hazier with disgust. How repulsive... That meant he believed he was going the right way. After some time, he had indeed reached the perimeter of the biome himself. He had arrived, but now he needed a way to get inside... Mind Tricks had been doing him well thus far so he decided he did not need to come up with anything too new.

He walked up to the entrance of the biome and had managed to convince them with a little help from his simple mind tricks he was merely a citizen of the planet down on his luck. With the clear to enter, he suppressed his own Force signature and entered the biome. He finally saw a more pleasant sight on this planet. It was refreshing after spending an entire night in the disarray of the group's little hideout. He briefly pulled down the hood of his cape and took off his breathing mask, taking a deep breath of the fresher air in the biome. He decided to spend some time in this artificial nature. With his signature repressed, nobody would likely notice his presence.

He had stayed on the down low for many hours until it was the dead of night. Around 3 AM. By then, he had pulled his hood back up and put his breathing mask back on. He began to head for the community center soon afterward. He believed that Arlen was putting her plan into motion at this point so he decided he would get into a position to aid her. He approached the polished building as he noticed a group of six seizing control of some of the systems and comms. All according to plan...

He soon entered the building and began to look around. He felt a sort of ominous presence in the air. If things go as planned, he would not really be needed here, but he was ready in case things went awry. A feast will be underway, you fool...

He waited in a secretive manner to see what would happen from here.

Valae’s eyes opened slowly. It was dark outside her small window now. Grumbling, she shifted to see the clock. How was it nearly three in the morning? Sitting up, she rubbed the back of her head. She must have been far more tired than she thought. Nevertheless, the extra sleep was a very welcome reward. Still a bit drowsy from sleep (or so she thought), she squinted up at the ceiling.

There was something… off. Inside, she could feel the familiar sensation that something was terribly wrong. But she still had to fight against the urge to fall back into sleep, how easy it would be to just close her eyes again. Swaying slightly on the edge of the bed, she glanced to the side.

There was a fuzzy black shadow.

It took a long moment to bring this shadow into focus. And when it became clear, Valae felt a surge of panic. Beady eyes… eight legs… fangs… SPIDERS! Quickly, she scrambled away, falling to the floor as she did so. But there wasn’t just one spider, but six…

“Ho-my!” Valae stammered, reaching for her saber.

Drawing upon the force, she felt a sudden burst of clarity. Not only was she in danger, but surely the others must be as well. But her attention for now was on her uninvited guests. They seemed to be waiting for the right moment. Igniting her saber, she moved to strike the closest. With a brilliant blue flash, her saber sliced the first clean in half, and injured a second. However, the little buggers were fast. It took another couple of swings before she had ended the injured arachnid.

Before she could even react, one of the spiders jumped for the sleeve of her robe. Letting out a startled cry, she attempted to clumsily swat it away… but it was too late.

There was a painful sting. Valae gasped and nearly dropped her saber, but mustered enough strength to knock the spider away and finish it. Immediately falling to her knees, Valae cried out as the saber fell from her grip. And then she slumped down to the floor.

The remaining three spiders then retreated. Their job was done, but there was still other prey to be had here.

Blurry eyes looked up. No, no… this couldn’t be the end. Using what concentration she had, she began to try and detoxify the poison… but it was becoming difficult to use the force. Keep breathing… Just keep…

It has been a rather filthy few days. He had been checking all of his information on where the hidden passage was, which me managed to locate and get a safe route to it the day before the assassination. He set up a sentry who would keep watch on it after having checked the small wall for any sensors or the like. It seemed they had not expected anyone to find this place and it was indeed quite well hidden. If Belgerath hadn't know the general area to look along with his natural force sight which helped him 'see through' things in a manner, it was quite possible it would never be found even if you knew where to look. But he did know where and he knew how to get in. High grade plasma torch along with a bit of care and it would be easy enough that Belgerath would go so far as to call it simple.

On the night of the attack, he had two operatives who would be playing look out. One at where the sewers and secret passage met and another at the second sewer entrance they might end up using. Both would keep an eye on the area and if anything that might make them need to change plans happen would call it in. Three of the remaining four Belgerath had form up into a fireteam that would infiltrate and secure the hedge maze and then await further orders. The final remaining operative would be going with Belgerath himself for the 'sneak' into the palace. While Belgerath could pull it off on his own, with the defenses the palace had a second pair of hands would be a great deal of help even at the higher possibility of them being spotted.

As the timer hit 3 AM, Belgerath sat up from where he had been sitting in the sewers. "Time to get to work. Keep a close eye on this area while we are gone. We don't be long." Belgerath said, resting his single arm on his vibro-blade as he headed into the hole he had already made. Going by what his force sight told him, there was no one in this passage and he did not see any tell tale signs of wiring or electronics in the walls. He made his way with a degree of speed up through the long passage which was filled with dust and cobwebs. Mentally he was wondering about why even though a gas mask could filter out harmful materials, why could it not filter out the rank smell?

Coming to the end of the passage after a few short minutes, he carefully sidled up to the door, thoroughly checking it for traps. This had been made for being opened from the other side and took some time to jimmy open manually. Thankfully no one was inside the servants room and he pulled it off with minimal noise. What was loud was the rusted hinges used on the thing, which made Belgerath wince as he slowly opened it. "...Pass me the lubricant spray." Belgerath murmurer, the man behind him passing it so Belgerath could thoroughly spray the section before handing it back. After that it opened nice and more or less quietly. Unfortunately as Belgerath entered the room, he had his first stroke of bad luck. Someone was coming right into the room. He motioned for the second man to take cover as Belgerath quickly took cover behind where the door would swing open. Inside walked a servant woman who was poking her head in at the noise. Normally, Belgerath would simply kill in this situation. It would be easier, faster. But it would also tip off a Jedi that something was up. They could feel the loss of life, especially if it was sudden and violent. So instead he balled up his left fist and delivered a quick, hard blow to the back of her head before grabbing her by the hair to keep her from falling and making even more noise.

After quickly securing the woman and making sure she wouldn't cause any trouble, Belgerath and his agent moved on. It took them a minute to figure out where exactly in the palace they were, but they were not overly far from the room of the King. It was in the next wing and up a floor, but they were fairly close to the next wing with where they came out. 'This is where the fun begins.' The Assassin thought wryly to himself, keeping up a careful watch with his 'sight' for any patrols and using the ability to see aura's through walls to his advantage on the treacherous way through the palace. While it had started off smoothly, who knew how badly it might turn if they were not careful...

Eri'anya kept an easy pace, the soft pitter patter of her steps sounding in her ears as she moved through the dim hallways. She was approaching Grandmaster Kitra's room again, making a point to slow down to prevent any access noise from disturbing the woman. More responsible heads were typically on their pillows at this hour, anyway, and nonessential personnel had little reason to forego sleep. Just as the tiny Knight had predicted, the only misfortune prevented by her impromptu patrols was a fitful rest. She was definitely going to regret this tomorrow.

More of that tea, for sure... That spur of the moment plan to start carrying her own supply was looking better and better all the time.

The Jedi Knight was just passing that door for what felt like the hundredth time that night when she froze. Something was different this time. While she had never been the most gifted Jedi when it came to the force, Eri'anya could not ignore a sudden pit settling in her gut, a chill of dread running from her fingers to her toes. It was faint, so faint even that in any other instance she might have missed it, or disregarded it entirely. It was only due to the curious timing that the sensation alerted her.

Master Kitra had been a warm and comforting person since they day she met her, and carried a certain aura around with her that seemed to reflect that. It was like the faint glow of a setting sun on one's eyelids, and those touched by the force could almost bask in it when in her presence. Maybe it was because she was a Jedi focused largely on healing, or perhaps it was just something Eri'anya invented due to her admiration of the woman. The important thing, however, was that sensation was nowhere to be found, despite being well within reach whenever she came by before.

Something was wrong!

"Master Kitra!?" The knight slammed a fist on the door for good measure, any remaining sense of propriety falling beneath the rising tide of her paranoia. "You okay!?"

By the time the door was fully opened, the small Jedi was already in motion. Her Grandmaster was collapsed on the floor, with no clear signs of forced entry or struggle. There was no evidence of forced entry, but the discarded saber settled a small distance from the body implied some manner of struggle had taken place. The lingering smell of ozone was still present in the room as well, so it was clear that Master Kitra had been attacked by something. Something that had gotten away.

"Valae!" First thing's first!

Crouching down, Eri'anya took a moment to check the senior Jedi's vitals. She wasn't dead, thank the force, but the woman was largely unresponsive as far as she could tell. She was breathing, but not moving a muscle. Some form of paralysis, if she were to guess, but the medical expert was the one on the floor right now. For all the duelist knew, this was some horrible disease!

"Master Kitra! Say something!"

Nobles did not gawp. Though Leah has to admit that she was almost reduced to almost making such a facial expression as the watched another force user at work. The more anxious part of her mind wondered how deadly such a thing could be, if something can go into the body like this and repair it, the opposite will be equally as possible. It was a fearsome tool of healing indeed.

Shaking her head softly, Leah would rise from her chair just as the substance began to work its magic on Timothy, she would be able to check on him later. Then she would be able to gauge how effectively this medical plasma could be put into use. However she did not have the time to gawk, she still had some more people she could help before heading of to rest.

Shaking her head softly to clear her thoughts, Leah walked back through the crowd of people towards the exit of the Dome, handing out tea and other various supplies to people along the way. It had become rather dark, rather quickly. The Countess found herself musing, heading towards her own chambers, stepping past two of her guards and heading into her Bedroom.

She was quite tired, taking little care with her clothing, throwing off the heaviest articles only to prevent herself from overheating, she then slipped into bed, pulling the sheets up towards her chin and promptly relaxing and moving her way into a comfortable sleep. She was still completely unaware of the ongoing panic, would she be woken by one of those spiders, or would she never wake st all?

He had not been able to sleep.

It was... Difficult, without the company of [member="Shmi DragonsFlame"], and his son. He was used to sleeping on his ship, sure, but his ship at least felt a little more like home. He had not been given shabby accommodations of course, no. But this world and this bed was unfamiliar to him. He would admit, he missed home. He missed having his beloved wife by his side, and he wanted to be back with her as soon as possible. It was not easy sleeping, the way he was. He ended up giving up and finding himself wandering the halls, long after everyone else had turned in for the night. He wanted to clear his head, calm himself down and maybe try to get some sleep afterword. He wouldn't sleep much, he knew... But he did like his sleep. So even a bit would be nice.

But the noise he heard, a cry, brought him to his senses. A woman's voice. Quickly, he would disappear, into the Current... If they were under attack, he needed to be able to survey the situation. Once he was cloaked, he would take off at a run. Running would still be do-able with the Current. Fighting, less so. Someone who trained other skills could not use the Current and remain invisible for an entire battle. It was just not possible without dedicating your entire life to it, and only it.

He would re-appear soon after, by the side of [member="Eri'anya Forr"], the assumed originator of the voice as he noted the collapsed Grandmaster [member="Valae Kitra"] and panic gripped him immediately. Forr seemed to indicate she wasn't dead, and Josh quickly darted his gaze about the room. He could sense it already, poison, though it wasn't sprayed, no... Not strong enough to be, so it wasn't dangerous to them. Leaving Forr to look her over, he would investigate the room calmly.

It was there he noticed something on the ground with his senses, just with it's last faint signs of life before they finally ebbed away. Knelling down, he noted the presence of the spider, with a clear lightsaber wound.

"Spider. Valae must have cut it with her saber" He would remark as he looked it over, without touching it. "It's of the poisonous variant" He would seem to recognize as he looked it over a bit more, before his senses caught the last traces of the second she'd killed, and he looked over, noting it was of the same species.

"But the traces I can sense can't have been done by just one spider... Or even two... Not to mention, these in particular aren't native to this planet. They had to be imported. Or worse... Implanted. It's way too much of a coincidence that several would be in here, and just happened to bite the Grandmaster."

He turned toward Forr.

"You need to get her to the medbay, now. I don't think I have the skill in Cure Poison to detox her as quickly as she likely needs right now. I'll get the staff and have them signal for the others to be woken in case there are more. Hurry, take her and go."

And, of course, as usual these days, nightmares are reoccurring as it pertains to Ossus and the First Order. Tonight's version was a little disturbing: the First Order-installed Governor of Ossus, a Stenax that wanted the shield gates dismantled, or at least relocated, wanted to launch an operation to kill Jessica. Because the FOSB somehow traced those gates back to her. At the end of the nightmare, her head was served on the Stenax governor's platter somewhere in the hastily rebuilt Eye of Ashlanae, now filled with stormtrooper patrols. But upon awakening from this nightmare, a little groggy, she didn't have time to don any armor, just bring out her lightsaber, as seven dark pulsars of death were making their approach towards the king's bedroom. Were they assassins aiming for her or targeting anyone else? And, while not fully mentally awake, would she be able to bring her computational power to bear? That is, will she be able to use the Force to the extent she can? In the dead of night, she could use her lightsaber as a flashlight to help get to the king's bedroom... given how unfamiliar she is with the royal palace's layout, she'd rather use a lightsaber to guide herself in the dark.

Things had been progressing well so far. The fireteam and sewers had not reported in which meant nothing had as of yet happened. But something had Belgerath just a bit on edge. A little something in the back of his mind that told him to pause before he took a step. 'I don't recall having the time to stop.' He thought back at himself as he sidled up to a corner at the stairs that would lead up to the second floor where the King resided. Checking his corners he peered up the staircase. The patrolling guards were just about to pass so he hid himself in the shadows, watching them turn and continue down the hallway. Motioning his operative to follow him, he quickly ascended the stairs with silent steps.

It was at the top of the stairs that he felt it. Something was wrong. His instincts told him more then anything, proceed with cautious haste or not at all and loose the chance on the target. He motioned for the operative to hold position at the top of the stairs as he started down the hallway. Then at the end of the hallway, he saw something coming from the second staircase. A bright aura, not one like most people. It was undoubtedly a Jedi. 'This just got much more complicated.' He thought. He reported that he had run into a Jedi and was very likely going to be forced to engage and that the operatives were to remain on standby. The one operative with him was to wait in silence and look for a chance to distract the Jedi to let Belgerath finish his job. The hallway was well decorated but sparse, not many places to try and hide. While he could potentially jump and try and hold onto the wooden decorations that adorned the tall palace hallway, that would not work on a Jedi of any skill. 'Time to earn that paycheck.' He thought as he saw the Jedi starting to walk onto this floor, lightsaber already active. "We are about to go hot people." He warned them over comms, drawing the vibro-blade out and lowering his body. His figure was hard to pick out in the darkness as he was clad in dark greyish hues, melding fairly well into the darkness.

Hoping for the advantage of surprise he seized the initiative, cutting at the Jedi's legs with a fast cut. Rather then actually maim her though, his intention was to try and force himself past her with one quick movement. The Kings room was still further down the hall and he couldn't get caught up here and he needed to try and make a opening for the operative behind him. But would he manage to find that opening in time before the entire palace was awake...

As Jessica made her way towards the royal bedroom, she closed in on the pulsar of death. While a NFU would have trouble to make out the position or even exactly what was that pulsar of death in darkness unless one used night vision equipment, she could tell that the vibro-blade was seemingly floating out of nowhere. And her Force-radar also indicated that there were a few more blips of darkness elsewhere in the palace. Yet the most dangerous of the gang was right in front of her and attempted to cut at her legs using a vibroblade. She leapt backward in an attempt to prevent getting cuts to her legs, and she then started running the calculations for the vibroblade's Maxwell equations in her head. Given that she also wishes to use the Electric Judgment equivalent of chain lightning, and that included the next-nearest target's weapon, she had to solve for six Maxwell equations because, in the absence of ionite, one needs to solve for 3N Maxwell equations, where N is the number of targets (because the divergence of the magnetic field is zero so long as there is no ionite involved). If there was ionite, it would then become 3N+K, with K being the number of ionite-laden objects and N > K. Once that was done, her brain was getting much more active and thus glowing in the Force, given the sheer amount of computational power expended, and also two bolts of green lightning would be flying between Jessica's off-hand and the vibroblade's hilt, and then from the vibroblade to the operative's weapon roughly ten meters behind.

The night was quite thus far, but even that would not allow Sukai to lower her guard, one thing that her mother always talked about, when reminiscing on her days as an assassin was to strike in the early hours of the morning, when the enemy was the most exhausted, and while it was still night time for a clean get away. She idly walked the halls after a quick nap, ever vigilant of a potential ploy to kill all those present, perhaps it was a bit over careful, but experience told the young Jin to expect the worse from every situation.

Soon though her expectation came t, the sound of a light-saber sparking to life, a yell, both quite but he able, Sukai raced down the hallway, mask on in-case of a gas attack and to hide her breathing. Coming round the comer to see Grand Master [member="Valae Kitra"] on the floor and unconscious, both [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] and [member="Eri'anya Forr"] tending to her, "What happened? is she going to be alright"? Looking around the small spider caught the woman's eye, it did not take long for her to put two and two together, it was a dastardly and honorableness way to fight, but what could you expect from assassins.

Sukais head turned towards Forr, her mask concealing any emotion, "I'll help you carry the grand master, no doubt the assassin will try at her life again, we must be prepared". Standing up her fathers light saber came into hand, a single blade more easy to use then a saber staff and more useful in tight quarters.

On the surface, Valae was unresponsive. Much of her remaining energy was being used to stave off the poisonous venom. Retreating deep within her mind, she began to channel what healing energy she could to help detoxify her system. It was a state much like that of a hibernation trance, but she did not intend to remain this way – at least she hoped she would not have to. Her breaths were small, almost imperceptible.

Though her eyes remained closed, she sensed the familiar presences of Josh, Eri, and Sky’ito.

She knew that there were still at least three spiders that had escaped. If they remained here, they would surely be in danger. But truly, they may have been in danger no matter where they were now. It was quite likely that there were still assailants here. Mustering what strength she could, she reached out to Knight Forr.

Valae’s presence waxed for but a moment, enough to mentally pass along a simple warning. “Be careful.”

As her focus returned to staying alive, she began to work harder at detoxifying the poison. It was potent venom; it would take her a little time to clear it from her body. However, she realized that things might have looked a bit grim. Her lips were now taking on a slight blue-hue.

Objective: Assist assassination/ Reveal the power of the dark side

Time spares no one, so Jaedan had to work with what he had, he left his armor for a more subtle disguise, poor, dirty clothes and a dirtied face. The robed sith presented himself before the guards at the entrance his lightsaber hidden, his empty eyes gazing at them. Presenting an empty piece of paper, Jaedan manages to mind trick the guards into thinking he was checked, now hopefully anyone who saw him from a distance will believe the same.

The boy went inside assuming his place in a building, no difficulties yet. While all alone, he pulled out a deteriorated mask made out of cloth having a monstrous face painted with white and two holes for eyes, nothing that would offer him anything more than the benefit of not being recognized, nonetheless he put it on his face then pulled the hood over his head and sat down leaning against the wall while exploring the area with his eyes for a bit... and waiting.

"Fray on position, awaiting orders." He said briefly through the communicator.

Belgerath had experince with Jedi and lightning before. The last time one of them had used it, he had a building buried ontop of him by alter enviroment. The only warning the Assassin had was a sudden sensation of danger, along with a motion that was rather close to what the sith do for sith lightning. The vibroblade was only just a few inches away from his hand when it exploded, a detonation that would have taken off his right hand but instead merely sent shrapnel into the right side of his body. The worst of the damage was at his right leg, half of the guard had buried itself into his thigh. It hurt like hell but he couldn't exactly deal with that now. Hopefully though that explosion would throw off his Jedi opposition just as much as it had him, given their close proximity to each other.

"Fire now." He said silently into his throat mic, only to hear the operative say his SMG got shorted out and that he would be using a blaster pistol. Less firepower and firerate, but after that explosion that just went off Belgerath -had- to force his way past this Jedi. "Fire anyways." Belgerath said, only moments after the explosion as he quickly regained his footing. Instead of trying to fight this opponent directly, he used the force to grab a painting on the wall, flinging it at Jessica's side as he started to run forward, ignoring the pain in his left leg that was threatening to throw him off balance. The operative would start firing the pistol just as Belgerath flung the painting at her side, aiming to use the 'double whammy' to rush past her. The door was not far and if she gave chase, he had a plan for that as well, preparing to fling a few things directly back at her while the operative would shoot at her back. But that was not the only plan he had going off in his mind.

"Garden team, watch the second floor. Jammer squad, set off the jammer now." It was ahead of schedule, but with the explosion having just gone off they had to start the jammer early. Moments later, the jammer would begin, blocking communications fequencies in and around the area of the palace.

The explosion of the vibroblade triggered an alarm, which couldn't get far because the communications within the palace grounds are being jammed. The one thing that couldn't be jammed was the noise said explosion produced, which awoke many people around the royal chambers, so Belgerath would find the security teams closest to the royal chambers patrolling, on the lookout for whatever intruders there are, equipped with 10mm rippers, the very same as used by the SJ ground forces. Also, Jessica received a few more shrapnel fragments from the vibroblade that just exploded; she also received some to her right leg, making it painful to even walk around, to think nothing of jumping, due to the cuts. Nevertheless she narrowly managed to escape the painting being flinged, with the painting on the wall coming to a close shave from hitting her; she used her lightsaber to bat the blaster pistol bolts back, hopefully from whence they came, and hopefully not hitting any valuable objects. She would then focus on twisting the proverbial knife into his leg wound, by focusing herself in creating a stasis field around Belgerath, which will likely pinch his nerves and, hopefully, prevent him from moving long enough for the security teams around the royal chambers to apprehend him.
