OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Dtarmia iw Dijomatsa - High Sith for Plant of Decay
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Origins: Felucia
  • Average Lifespan: 100 Galactic Standard Years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: Mutated by the Sith Alchemy of Darth Arcanix, and stripped of their sentience and link to their collective consciousness, what remains of the Drengir she encountered on Felucia have become something even worse. Grown in stature and hideousness, and gifted with new abilities, these creatures are something to be feared by anyone that braves the jungles of Felucia or other worlds where the Lady of Secrets might deploy them.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 5 meters, but they can grow bigger depending on their environment, availability of prey, and exposure to dark side energies
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Green, although some specimens have started to develop either black or gray skin depending on their consumption habits and exposure to dark side energies.
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: The most distinctive physical traits of the Dtarmia are its gaping wide mouths and the multitude of tentacles that it uses for both movement and for attack, however, the more insidious traits of the creatures are not as obvious initially. The addition of some of the Driunasi iw Dijomatsa's DNA into the plant cells, fused through the Sith alchemy of their creator, has given the monsters of the swamps and jungles worse weapons to deal with their prey and enemies.
  • Races: No other races
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
Strengths:
  • Retaining some of the traits of their Drengir forms, the Dtarmia are still highly resistant to blaster fire and lightsabers. Enhanced through Sith alchemy, this resistance has spread to both corrosive agents such as acid and fire.
  • Another trait retained from their original forms, the Dtarmia, if sliced in half or into multiple pieces, will quickly grow into smaller versions of the creature that had been "killed," and will resume their progenitor's attempts to consume the enemy that thought the creature finished.
  • A trait adopted from the introduction from the Project Aura Sithspawn's DNA, the creatures have developed organs or sacs within their bodies that create various noxious gases they can exude in a breath attack or leech into the ground or water around them with their tentacles. Some of the gases they produce are:
    • Senflax
    • Swamp Gas
    • Sleeping Gas
    • Death Mist
  • The saliva of the creature is highly acidic, and its tentacles exude a sticky mucus derived from the Driunasi that they can use to ensnare and hold potential victims in place.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Light and other direct applications of the light side of the Force can severely harm or even kill the creatures outright, depending on the strength of the Force wielder.
  • Weapons of extreme cold, such as carbonite or Cryoban, are extremely harmful to the creatures, easily being able to kill them. Even if they de-thaw, the specimen will not revive.
  • The mucus that covers their tentacles, while effective at trapping prey, can easily be washed away with water and free the person or creature that has been captured.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore, Force Energies (by exposure), Drengir plant forms
  • Communication: They can understand commands given to them through the Sith language or through the dark side. Among themselves, they communicate through illuminating the tips of their tentacles in different patterns.
  • Technology level: No technology level
  • Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system since the original specimens had their sentience stripped from them by Darth Arcanix.
  • General behavior: Dtarmia, unlike their original Drengir forms, are far more solitary creatures. Preferring to lurk in the foliage of the jungles and swamps around them, the creatures exercise some degree of patience while prey is nearby, preferring to quickly ambush their victims and overwhelm either with their tentacles or the various gases they breathe. The Dtarmia don't stake out territory per se, but they do tend to hunt and lurk in specific areas. Dtarmia reproduce either when they are sliced in pieces or by seeds that they can plant after they have consumed enough meat. The creatures have been observed by Order of Arcane Syn alchemists to gravitate towards locations rich in the dark side, perhaps as a memory from their previous existence, or the creatures believe the ground soaked in dark side power will accelerate the growth of their seeds.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Following the invasion of Felucia by the Brotherhood of the Maw, and the appearance of a sect of Drengir during the battle, Darth Arcanix and her alchemists returned to the site and were able to capture several members of the dreaded plant species, although the creatures of the hive mind attempted to "rescue" their fellow plant monsters in following the Sith back to their laboratory at Hojo Base. Unfortunately for those that came to liberate their fellows, they were consumed by the guardian slimes around the lab.

Within the laboratory, Darth Arcanix and her scientists and alchemists went to work on altering and experimenting on their captives with their dark arts. Dissections proved valuable to the Sith Lady, being added to her pool of knowledge, but a desire had formed to transform these plant creatures into a new weapon that could be used against her enemies. Taking some of the samples retained from the creation of her Project Aura Sithspawn, Darth Arcanix forcefully fused the Drengir with the DNA of the Whisper of Decay, creating a hybrid plant monster. The growth of the specimens was enhanced, the dark side twisting and enlarging their fanged maws and tentacles, while the DNA introduced elicited the growth of sacs within the body that tested positive for the gases created by the Whisper.

As a final insult to the creatures, before their transformations were completed, the Sith Lady stripped them of their connection to the Drengir hive mind, removing their sentience with Sith magic, reducing them to mere beasts that would be released into the jungles of Felucia as the Dtarmia iw Dijomatsa, the Plants of Decay. With no allegiance to their former forms, commanded by a new dark mistress, they would prey upon any they encountered, including their former compatriots.
