SPECIES: Human

AGE: 46

SEX: Male

HEIGHT: 6"2

WEIGHT: Lean

EYES: Brown

HAIR: Salt and Pepper

SKIN: Caucasian

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Strengths:

Patience: Dorn possesses unnerving patience and this applies to all aspects of his life. Whether in combat through the application of Soresu, or mediating for two conflicted parties, or shadowing a target. Dorn's philosophy revolves around being a stone that his allies can anchor to, and that his enemies will destroy themselves against.

Flexibility: Dorn's Master instilled a seemingly random physical regiment in his student, that changes with each week, but always emphasizes strengthening and extending the full range of motion in a body. This ideology extends beyond the physical, Dorn is careful to never let expectations or foresight solidify his future, instead he embraces spontaneous change with instant acceptance. No plan survives first contact, and Dorn lives with this in mind.

Weaknesses:
Strength: Dorn will never be a powerhouse, and should he find himself in a situation where he cannot dodge or deflect incoming danger, he will never be able to brute force his way to safety.

Patience: Dorn's patience may sometimes border on the inhumane, and when working with others Dorn's idea of wait and see may sometimes seem insane to others. Whether staking out a hostage situation, or studying a bomb for defusal, or when deciding the exact moment to send in reinforcements, Dorn will wait until the Force whispers for a response.

APPEARANCE:
Dorn possesses a whipcord-thin build, and a face etched with lines from a lifetime spent travelling the galaxy. However his eyes still reflect a sense of humor and patience that belay the sharp cast of his features. Outside of wearing his traditional robes, Dorn prefers to dress in a combination of black and blue when time allows.

BIOGRAPHY:
Dorn Monteth grew up on Corellia, his first memories are serving as a runner and lookout for various petty gangs in order to earn his keep. Which was how he created his name, Dorn Monteth being the name of a gang leader who crushed the disorganized packs and created a hierarchy. Life as a nearly-feral street rat struggling for scraps nearly killed him, and would have, if it was not for Dorn's unlikely spark of Force-Sensitivity. As time passed, Dorn learned to lean on his 'sixth-sense', and sniff out potential marks. Until the day he encountered his first Jedi Knight, and was immediately fascinated. Most sentients tend to be a riot or maelstrom of thoughts and emotions, yet this man's mind was like clean durasteel lit from within. Naturally, Dorn followed this long-haired, bearded fellow through the lower levels of his home while prodding at the stranger's steel trap of a mind. At least until the stranger turned and with startling swiftness scooped up a now biting, scratching, and half-feral Dorn to appraise him. However this Jedi Knight, by the name of Marl Soontahn, did not want or desire a Padawan at the time. So naturally, he tucked the hissing Force-Sensitive under his arm and traveled back to his ship. Marl's destination was Hoth, a frozen waste with absolutely no merit save one.

Jedi Master Pho-Centh was considered at the kindest, eccentric, and had trained Marl with an iron discipline in Hoth's merciless subterranean tunnels . Both Master and former pupil were men of few words, and so with no explanation Dorn found himself hunched in a corner, gnawing on a small hill of rations while he studied Pho-Centh. Pho-Centh, for his part, utterly ignored Dorn, only ensuring that the child had food, water, and shelter. For no explainable reason, this fascinated Dorn and he followed Pho-Centh everywhere within the Master's subterranean home. While Pho-Centh wrote, trained, ate, and meditated, Dorn shadowed him. Two weeks of this passed before Pho-Centh finally uttered a sentence,"Sit." Curious, and mildly apprehensive, Dorn sat. What followed was the hardest moments of Dorn's life, bar none. Even in recollection, Dorn cannot recall a more difficult period then learning about things like poetry, reading, writing, and art from a mentor who apparently considered a sentence sacrilege. Months passed and finally Dorn was allowed a datapad, inside was information on a multitude of topics, from species, flora, fauna, planets, etc. A galaxy of general information for Dorn's mind to drown in it. With this gift, came Pho-Centh's voice. Much like a broken dam, Pho-Centh's voice was suddenly an endless font of answers to Dorn's questions and a rigid adherent to a schedule he now expected Dorn to follow. Years passed, and Dorn learned about various facets of what it meant to be a Jedi. Eventually Dorn attained the rank of Padawan, and with it came his first real 'crucible', in the eyes of Pho-Centh, this meant people.

Pho-Centh expressed a marked distaste in spending time with packed crowds of sentients, and so Dorn's first crucible was spent by travelling with his old rescuer, Marl Soontahn. To the absolute horror of both Pho-Centh and Marl, Dorn enjoyed his travels, and his interactions with strangers from all walks of life. Dorn's study of combat also progressed under the tutelage of Pho-Centh and Marl, Pho-Centh preferred Makashi, or as Marl put it,"Form II, or as I call it, hoping you never fight more than three people." Marl on the other hand was a master Djem So, yet Dorn picked Form III, Soresu. The reasoning behind his choice, after time spent learning the seven forms and battling to exhaustion against his two mentors, was simple. After a grueling practice one day, Dorn had paused for a break and asked a still practicing Pho-Centh if he ever tired, and his Master responded,"Even the greatest warriors tire, even machines erode, and you must remember this. Time, and entropy, will always have their way, only the Force transcends this." With those words, Dorn's choice was simple, and so he chose Soresu.

Seven years later, at the age of 23, Dorn chafed to make a difference in the galaxy at large. While Pho-Centh and Marl had instilled an essence of steel in Dorn, it backfired when it came to heeding their advice. The galaxy was a myriad of conflicts and injustices, and while Pho-Centh spoke of patience, Dorn spoke of action. What came after was a debate between the two, not with anger or raised voices, that would never move Dorn's Master. With serenity and calm, placid tones, Dorn wore down his Master's defense. Inwardly of course, Dorn was almost livid that his mentor sat idle while the galaxy was suffering, but his lifelong discipline persevered and saw him released to travel with Marl in an attempt to help those who could not help themselves. Several more years went by, and Dorn passed his second crucible, proving that he could stay true to his tenets in the chaotic maelstrom that was the galaxy. With this passage came his Jedi Trials and the rank of Knight. Marl and Pho-Centh offered congratulations and guidance, but told Dorn that his third crucible had arrived, Independence, with all the weight, joy, and sorrow it can bring. So Dorn left and traveled for several weeks before coming to a startling revelation, Pho-Centh was hiding. Hiding from the war, hiding from the Sith, hiding from discovery, from pain, from everything. Dorn's realization struck him like thunder, and for all his discipline, his mind struggled to grasp just how badly he had been deceived. The trips that Marl had guided him along for years? Carefully structured, carefully planned, and carefully deceptive. At first Dorn's urge to travel back and confront the only two figures he had in his life nearly consumed him, but in the end he also realized Pho-Centh knew what this journey would reveal to him. So he continued, for over two decades Dorn has traveled the galaxy, but he now realizes just how infinitely small the ripples of his actions are, and so he has now joined The Silver Jedi Concord. As a Shadow, he can play a small part in changing the galaxy for the better.
