Wild Space Rebellion Fleet, The Dawn of Hope

Captain Sala's Fleet (Or Lack There Of):
Si Tech's convoys were getting hit again.

The Rebellion's lifeblood. The thing that kept Wild Space fed. Alive. Armed.

Supreme Commander Igla had sent out Captain Sala, the twi'lek who had earned her stripes during the assault on Mon Cala. The Ambush Class sat, waiting. They knew where the hyperlanes were, and where the ways around them were. The perpetrators who had attacked their last convoy would come this way.

And they'd be waiting. Their interdiction field was on, and yet they were invisible to any sensors save ones designed to deal with heavy stealth ships.

Now the game of cat and mouse began. And in this case, they were an Eagle, watching and waiting.

Argentum Company - Amarrnth Corvette - Ipheion Fighter

The Amarrnth cruised along at a stately 1.0 through hyperspace. Technically it was standard speed these days, but since his Corvette was capable of a little more than three times the speed, Corvo considered 1.0 to be stately. A polite way to say slow. But they weren't alone today, and the Amarrnth was blacked out, both its IFF off and its hull paint set to a dull, matte black to match their temporary allies. Hitting the Wild Space Rebellion was risky, but they had a Marque against them, and the Rebellion (a terrible bit of branding in Corvo's estimation) had turned its back on another of Corvo's employers. So he'd done the smart thing, find some unaffiliated allies and go to town. Now his hold was filled near to bursting, and more than one prize ship had been sent back to the Mahporeem homeworld.

"Captain, long-range is picking up gravity wells in the lane." The pilot called out, causing Corvor to shift forward in his command chair in interest, the white tiger pelt wrapping it brushing against his back as he did so.

His silvery eyes flashed in anticipation of something interesting. "Signal our allies and drop us out short. Battle Stations. Seems we're about to be counterattacked." Rising from his chair even as the starscape turned from the swirling blue of hyperspace turned to elongated star stripes as the armored shutters closed over the view screen, Corvo nodded to his XO, Karda Vahl, "XO has the Con. I'll get the Ipheion ready."

Grabbing his flight helmet from its rack on his chair, Corvo slipped it over his head as he exited the bridge. Locking its seal in place as he opened the ladder access so its grinning skull's teeth and mirrored visor covered his visage as he slid down the ladder to the lower decks with a practiced ease. He then made his way forward, passing crew rushing to man their stations, strapping on weapons or sealing their own suits as they went, until he arrived at the Amarrnth's cramped hangar. There his Ipheion lay, wings swept back, black stealth polymer mottled with gold. Death and power constrained in every line. Letting the hatch ease closed behind him and settling into the dewback leather flight chair, Corvo started waking the fighter up from its low-power mode, checking the systems as they came online and connecting into the shared tactical net with the Amarrnth and linking comms with his allies.

The Imperial Corsairs had been feasting as of late.

Ever since their tacit agreement with the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, the Imperial Corsairs had been wrecking havoc throughout the Outer Rim, preying upon anything even remotely related to Jonyna Si Jonyna Si and the Wild Space Rebellion. Cargo vessels, passenger ships, medical transports, nothing was safe from the greed of the corsairs, and for months they had been raiding Si Tech and its subsidiaries, stealing supplies and taking its employees hostage for ransom.

All in all, it had become quite the profitable business for the corsairs.

But, of course, doing so was not without serious risk to the corsairs. For than a few of them had met an untimely end from passing warships and anti-pirate squadrons, and now that the Wild Space Rebellion was onto them, things were starting to really heat up for the Imperial aligned pirates. Raids were becoming riskier and deadlier for the pirates, and their losses were starting to mount from the attention that they were getting from the Wild Space Rebellion. Yet, the allure of credits was proving to strong to stop the pirate raids, and so they continued unabated, despite the inherent danger associated with performing them.

So when Corvo Anattolius Corvo Anattolius signaled for some help, the Imperial Corsairs were more than happy to oblige, sending a Vigilant-class Picket Cruiser as backup, along with a pair of Mauler Strike Fighter squadrons and a single Scurgg H-611 Fighter Bomber to help Corvo disable whatever it was that had caught his attention. Finding his ship had been easy enough, and the pirates had identified themselves to home the moment they were able to, not wanting Corvo to mistake them for Imperials or something like that.

But where was the enemy?

Clearly something had spooked Corvo enough to send a distress signal, but when the pirates arrived, their didn't appear to be anything attacking him or trying to get away. So what gave? Was it was false positive, a malfunctioning sensor, perhaps? If Corvo had made a mistake and wasted their time....well, the malfunctioning sensors on his ship would be the least of his problems! Surely he knew how expensive ship fuel was these days, no?

Captain Sala's Fleet (Or Lack There Of):
A corvette, and a cruiser.

They were outgunned, but not for long. The WSR's reinforcements would be on their way soon.

For now, they had the initiative.

"Activate the TCJ, and launch our B-wings. We'll hit them from far off. They won't know what hit them." Sala ordered, as her tactical officer put the plan in motion. First, the Ambush Class's Tactical Combat Jammer aimed right at the imperial cruiser's sensors, before the ship moved back as it's B-wings launched.

Mission Profile: Engage Enemy Captial Ships
Primary Objective: Engage Imperial Aligned Corvette with ion barrage
Secondary Objective: Destroy enemy point defense grid.
Tertiary Objective: Engage enemy fighters as needed.

Captain Avaduu adjusted the sensors one last time, as their AR HUD went through their objectives one last time. The enemy would be swarming them before long, so they needed to keep up the initiative. That meant a quick launch. The call went out, and the two B-wing squadrons, 8 fighters total, launched from the Shining Eagle. A moment later, they shifted their trajectory. Aimed their bow at the enemy ships.

"Captain, enemy cruiser locked on."

"Copy. We should be outside of their point defense range...Brill, open fire."

The B-wing opened up with it's heavy ion cannons at the imperial cruiser, in chorus with the other three fighters in it's squadron. All the while, the other squadron opened up on it's target, the corvette that seemed to be on it's own. Then a crescendo. Eight turbolasers opened up, four firing at each of the enemy ships.

The B-wings kept their distance still. Their greatest strength was to keep out of the range of the enemy guns. Force them to send out fighters.
