There was something about Tatooine that Mira hated.
Maybe it was the dry heat...
Maybe it was the smell...
Maybe it was the sand...
She couldn't quite place what exactly what it was, but it was like driving a plasma torch through her nerves. Something in the back of her mind, a distant memory that stirred up these emotions within her. Mira sighed, taking a moment to gaze from the work being done to her ship to those offloading cargo. At the rate they were moving, she would be charged an extra day for docking - something she hadn't counted for in the fees and assessment when she first agreed to the job. Nothing was what it once was, or atleast to any extent that she could remember. Ever since she had taken up a different name and started wearing the talisman that seemed to conceal her powers, she began to forget things. Memories of loved ones, of times long since passed, of what it was like to be a Jedi.
She was no longer Mira Rekali.
She had taken the name Blue, Aelyn Blue.
With a little help, she started Skyway Transport Services which held out to be a small and modest operation. Over time, she became consumed in her duties and her business that she forgot about the conflict within the Galaxy - something she desired greatly, an escape from it all. The conflict had cost Mira everything and the debt was something she felt she could no longer be burdened with - Jedi or not....
"Hey, Lady Blue?" A voice chimed into her passing day dream, causing her to suddenly jolt and come back to reality. Mira shifted slightly as she looked to the greased up mechanic beside her, giving him a slight nod.
"What is it?" She said softly.
He looked down at the datapad, grimacing before gazing back up to her. "Yeah, these repairs are going to cost about double what we estimated before..." He turned and gestured to the YT series freighter. "These ships, they are ancient and the parts aren't easy to come by....."
Mira sighed. "I understand, do what you can. I'm going to head into town and get a drink. I assume you won't be done until sometime tomorrow then?"
The mechanic looked down at the pad and tapped it a few times. "Well, maybe tomorrow evening." He shrugged slightly.
"I'll give you two-hundred extra credits if you speed things up and have it ready to go before noon..." She smirked and gestured with a hand towards her ship.
The mechanic gave her an unimpressed look and shook his head. "Yeah, that ain't happening Blue. Two-hundred is way below the bribery threshold. I'll keep in touch."
Mira frowned at his response. "Well, it was worth a shot either way..." She shrugged lightly and exited the docking bay. She needed a drink, a stiff drink at that - maybe two. This day just seemed to get worse and worse by the second, what else could go wrong?
