Desert Craze (CIS, Open)

Chikako turned around and started walking back to her shuttle with the Tusken in tow, "A full attack? that would be reckless, no we will try to wain their numbers down from afar chip away at them for a few moments". "Make their moral falter a bit then with you me and my guard perform a strike as their most vulnerable location, get them to divert forces and then use the majority of the attack force to commence an advance on the fortress". The first part of that already underway with her 1st regiment having set up sharpshooting locations along the sandy dunes, any Hutt solderer that peaked it's head out to see the enemy force would find themselves in the cross hairs of the surrounding army.

"As for the Hutt, I have plans for him, not gonna do what the initial CIS forces did on the planet and blow up it's fortress with baby Hutt suicide bombs... like come on even I think that if screw up". Though more so it was too quick, it did not give time to make an example from the Hutt lord and send a message to the rest, all that everyone new is that they had died in an explosion, not a real deterrent in her eyes. As the two made their way onto the ship her Royal Guard turned around in perfect timing, marching onto the craft like droids as the ramp came back up.

"We should be there in 5 minutes, be ready for battle", while addressing [member="A'Runda"] the young princess steped onto a small box shaped construct, raising her hands as her servants quickly sprung forward with all types of equipment. Bit by bit the young Echani was cladded, head to toe in silver white armor, it polish almost a mirror sheen. "Let the fun Begin".

A'Runda listened intently to her plan. From what he could tell it seemed sound enough to work. No matter how smart a Hutt is, they can't really combat overwhelming odds and numbers against them. With her army the Tusken doubted that he'd be much help for the fight to come.

As much as A'Runda would like to eviscerate the large slug like Hutt with his lightsaber he knew that bring more suffering to his people. The Tusken knew that he couldn't send a message clear enough to the rest to make them back off. But perhaps [member="Chikako Liona"] could with her army. But then again she was the monarch of a whole other planet. There's no way she could stick around in these deserts forever on the off chance they might enact their revenge. Neither could he, and he belonged here.

However, he would hold the issue for later, he just hoped then whenever he would bring it up, it wouldn't be too late. He watched as she was outfitted with some kind of armor, certainly not any kind he'd seen before. It seemed rather fancy to him. After that she spoke once more and was brought to attention. Imagining that they were close now he would comment. "You seem more then ready for a battle. The most I've been in by this point are simple raids and some Knights Obsidian training."

"Well?...anything yet?
What's the status on that smoke?" Karlie had waited patiently enough. But enough was enough just waiting in this Damn heat with little shade.
She had sent out a scout to check on that other location where they had seen smoke from. The scout, being one of the droid units was on foot and even if it could go at a 25km pace, it still took it a half hour before he was in position to scan the target area...where the smoke was emanating from.

Tagging animated humanoid life forms at target area... the unit which was sent to scout the source of the smoke reported in.

"Oh yea?..
Are they alive or dead?....Ouu....." Yep, as soon as she asked, Karlie realized what came out of her mouth.

Both. Functioning and non-functioning life forms. Both humanoid and beast. Banta species, indigenous to this system also functioning and non-functioning... it reported.

" You're telling me that you're picking up both dead and living personnel in the area, and same with the bantas?" Karlie asked over the comm, signaling to the droids with her in the destroyed settlement to arm up, be at the ready.
What she was deciphering was that maybe a local tribe was on some kind of warpath or whatever these native sand people did to acquire essentials. She were told that many sand people..Tuskens they were called, were scavengers and raiders for the most part.

Affirmative.... the scouting droid reported.

What is the distance from my position to the target location?

21 km.

Damn it...is everything on this planet a heat stroke distance away?...sheesh....
Hold position. We're heading over to your location to asses the situation.

By your command.

"Yea, yea...listen, are the life forms armed with heavy weaponry?" Karlie looked over the current destroyed settlement she was still in. What had been used here was more than blasters.

Affirmative...

"Hmm...so no doubt that whom ever was currently torching the other settlement had destroyed this one.." she was figuring.

Weapons scans indicate blaster weapons to turbo lasers on CIS vessel..

"CIS?!!...
There's a CIS vessel there?...armed personnel?" No way. What was an armed vessel doing in a smoldering settlement? had that vessel caused all of this senseless slaughter?

Affirmative.

"Stay low, don't let them spot you. We're on the move to your location...
If they start to move out or any dynamics change, report back." Shoot, what was she to do?..Call the Colonel or investigate this on her own?
Well, calling Colonel [member="Boriskno Fel Set"] ...'Bo' as she called him would be like calling 'Daddy' at the first sign of trouble. Ok, so that's what her father had Bo for, to keep her out of trouble.
Nope. She was way past that.
Karlie was handling this on her own.

By your command...

"Sigh...yea, yea..." She rolled her eyes, closing off communications, before turning to the other units.
"All right boys...lets get trotting..." Karlie jumped back on her bike and started heading toward the scout's position, with the rest of the droid squad keeping pace with her at about a sloooow 25km. Slow for her as she was on a bike, but the droids were on foot and that was pretty much their long range pace.

...a sweltering half hour later.

Karlie and the 9 units met up with the scout droid who was waiting just out of sight of the targeted settlement.
There was enough rock outcrop near the area that Karlie climbed up and crawled up on top of one of the boulders to get a better vantage point of the smoldering settlement and who these life forms were.

Sure enough there sat a CIS registered vessel, a friggate class with what looked like Tythish markings on it. Definitely CIS.
And the strange part was that there were local sand people about mingling with the Tythish forces. It didn't make sense, as there were also what she picked up as dead sand people and bantas along with the living ones. What was this?!

"What the frak?..." She then caught sight of a young Echani in full battle armor coming out of the transport.
What the frak was a member of the CIS doing here on Tatooine in full battle armor in the middle of the desert flats?

Karlie slithered back and down the boulder, staying well hidden behind it with her group of 10 droids. She wasn't certain whether to make their presence known or keep recording what was taking place ..or about to take place. There were a lot of dead bodies between the settlement she had just come from and this one now.
The question was; was this Tythin responsible for this senseless slaughtering of settlers out here in the flats?

"Stay put." Karlie then ordered her units, putting her index to lips to indicate silence.

She stepped out, but stayed close to the boulder in case she needed to duck behind it, if the Thythin group or the sand people with them decided to fire on her.

"GREETINGS!" She shouted to get their attention.

The armor she wore was forged from songsteel, plate armor over a light amorweave body suit, no modern technology, just simple good metal plating, more then enough to handle the foes they would be facing today. "Well of course I would be ready for battle, this coming encounter is a battle after all, and being the ruling monarch it would be a disaster for my people if I were to die". "Very few people would bother to try and revitalize a barren toxic world, and without my support the CIS would probably just pull everything from the world believing it is a waste of time, energy and resources". As she finished her short speech the shuttle came to land nearby the current Tythish 'security force', one of her guards handing the short Echani her helmet before the doors opened to the harsh double sun light.

Several of the soldiers gave respectful bows to the monarch as she was escorted from the shuttle but before anyone could utter a word the valley resonated with the shouting of some women. Turning their heads a few of the soldiers and guards women raised their rifles at the women, but did not fire, observing her as she stood out from a boulder from the side. "Halt, identify yourself before taking another step", one of the female NCO's demanded, slowly inching towards the blonde women, the initial moment becoming rather tense.

"Everyone, please calm down, if she was an enemy she would have made a move already, I do not sense any bad intentions from here, though such a greeting may get you shot in the future miss, I would recommend you don't do that again for your own safety". With a small hand gesture the nearby infantry lowered their weapons, returning to their posts as the siege of the Hutt Palace continued, though Chikako's personal guard kept ever vigilant. "Still I must ask, who are you? why are you out here in the middle of the desert? did you happen across the Hutt lords palace? or some of his men's dirty deeds"? Obviously she had not been out for a present stroll in the middle of the day, but even so she did not seem like a local, most nearby were in fear for their lives or dead, and anyone further away didn't care enough to snoop around.

"Sigh...here we go..." she thought to self as she slowly raised her hands up in the air.
She were quite a few meters distance for sound to sort of dissipate, being in the open desert flats and all. yes, with extremely dry desert air..sound waves were't traveling too great a distance.

"If you say so...
Thought 'Greetings' would go over better than 'Hey You'...no?" Karlie spoke up, not sure whom she were even talking to as it were difficult in the heat to see who's lips were moving really. Lord, if she could roll her eyes, she would.
But Karlie knew she best not give them her best, as there were scopes on her, and surely someone would find a slip of the finger on the trigger an excuse for an 'Oops' if she got too smart mouth.

"Alright!...relax. Hands are empty... not as stupid as I look....See!" She rotated her palms, still holding her position.
"I'm nowhere fast on the draw either...so.." No she wasn't. Not before she became midi-free. Now?
Now she was no more faster than an average Castan Marine. And facing what either was a coalition of local and Thythen forces...well, best use wits than might. At least as it pertained to her end.
"Should have dropped my belt... now that I think about it.... Ahem, I'm not here looking for a fight....not against an army at least... just some answers'all."
Really...did they think she was a threat? A single woman out here with just a standard blaster strapped to her thigh? Karlie was betting that whatever forces Thythe had sent here were pretty much on the same line as Castagne's. And that was to show the system that they would have support from foreign invasions...like the Imperials who had for the most part taken as much as anyone could take from an already limited and suppressed feudal type system.

"Look...not judging... buy that and I've got some sun lamps to sell ya.... but, uhm...did you do this?!" The smoldering smoke was still rising of what looked like tents and some charred carcasses. This settlement was much more primitive than the one she had come from. If she had to keep gambling, Karlie would say that it would belong to a tribe such as the sand people that were with the Thythe group here. The other settlement had been of town like folk, more than nomads.

"...anyway...it's Karlie. My name's Karlie.
I see the vessel is CIS marked.
You wouldn't by any chance tell me whom I'm speaking to?.... You're the only intelligent life I've come across so far... that remains to be seen..." Well, that was that.
karlie had remained stationary, especially since the majority of the Thythe forces still had their weapons drawn on her.

"Listen...it's like hot out here, if you haven't noticed. Arms are getting tired...
I could drop my belt if you want... come on seriously, I'm sweating out here,.... could use some shade and water, if you don't mind..."

A'Runda listened to the young monarch go on about being ready and how his homeworld was just a barren, toxic planet. But he didn't follow up with anymore questions. Not that he really could've, since they just landed and as the exited the shuttle and women had presented herself.

Feeling that he should take more of a backseat to their conversation. However, it seemed as though neither side was really saying what the other wanted to hear. Thus he figured he ought to speak up. "Yes, Miss Karlie, we're CIS. We're currently dealing with a Hutt mobster at the moment."

After that he looked back at [member="Chikako Liona"]. "Miss Liona, I don't think this women is our enemy." Then he looked back at [member="Karlie Lynn Destat"] as he unfastened his water pouch. "And if you're talking about some of the local destruction you can blame the Hutt for it. However, Miss Karlie, you've yet to let us know why you're out here. I don't suspect you're a mere spectator."

After speaking he telekinetically moved his water pouch through the air over to Karlie. "Here, you said you needed some water." A'Runda could very well empathize with those who struggle here on Tatooine.

Chikako just continued to beam a calming smile through the entire encounter, this women, this Karlie was certainly and interesting character, also liked to talk a lot too and whisper just as much. Not a bad thing but the entire operation was on a day light time limit, they couldn't afford to be hanging around chatting all day. Staying silent her new Tusken friend explain their current situation and attain his own perception of the women, if the she had mistaken her own forces for carrying out the raids then it would be best to have a local dispel them.

At A'Runda words the monarch gave a small nod, the way Karlie sounded it seemed more like she just wanted answers and nothing more, "You may drop your arms and approach, come we have shade over here". With one hand Chikako beckoned the blonde haired women over to the landed shuttle, more then eager to continue the conversion and have things deal with in a timely manner. "As for your early questions Karlie, I am Princess Chikako Fredrika Liona, ruler of the Imperium of Tythe and current commander of the Tythish forces on Tatooine at this moment". "As my Tusken friend had told you we are here to quell a Hutt who thought it wise to try their dirty business under the nose of the CIS". "As one could reason the actual CIS military is off on the borders, dealing with their own problems, and seeing as Tatooine has yet to attain a Vicory or security militia I saw it fit to bring my own forces to help out, and gain some minor military experience".

The Princess gave a small curtsy, a proper motion to make when interacting with someone for the first time, though quickly following the introduction her tone became more inquisitive of Karlie. "Now I have told you about myself and why I am here, but you yourself never answered my questions, who are you fully, and why are you out in the middle of the desert, let alone Tatooine in general". "One can tell from your dress and manner of speak you are no local, are you under employment of the CIS or someone else? be careful you answer will affect my guards reactions". "I may not really mind what you say but they are trained to react to what 'they' perceive as a threat to my safety, and to many unknowns on some randomly appearing individual could lead to such a conclusion". Chikakos words still carried the usual child like charm, but for anyone knowledgeable in the art of diplomacy they would know her last few sentences were more or less an ultimatum.

Karlie was not just some random passerby, she had a purpose here, and Chikako was going to find out one way of another and she knew her soldiers would carry out any task that she ordered... any.

Her eyes remained trained on the local tribe's man who not only replied as to whom was supposedly responsible for these two similar attacks on the communities, but was strangely vouching for her, as he offered his water pouch. And that pouch was heading toward her..levitating.
Ok...so someone there or maybe a few were force users, she reckoned.
She reached up as the pouch neared her.

Taking the stopper off, she first smelled the content. It seemed fresh, aside from the small hint of hide. Still, as some customs went, she were offered a drink; so she took a swig. To her surprise it was relatively...sweet..fresh, aside from being warm.

"Thanks!" ..she shouted to the man.

It was then that the young woman identified herself. This took Karlie back a moment. yes, she was surprised as she recognized the name. And why wouldn't she, as Karlie was privi of who was who among the Heads of States of the CIS. Still...
"Princess Chikako Fredrika Liona?...." Seriously? It wasn't everyday she ran into one of the Viceroys. Not on Tatooine anyway.
"Yes, I know of you.
You're Viceroy of Tythe." Interesting...so what was a Viceroy doing on Tattoine, she were thinking.

"I'm Castan, by the way.... CIS ...you know, from Castagne system?
Yea.... come on people...same sides here...just a different state in the CIS...
Ahem...anyway, I'm here on this dust bowl...er, no offense to the locals..." She realized who were present among the Thythe forces... namely the Tuskan who graciously gave her a drink of his water.

"I was dabbling with some research and development before I ran across a settlement not 13 or so kilometers South of these flats... " No, she wasn't going to divulge everything because the girl wished it, no. Karlie was military herself. Sure, she herself was considered part of CIS coalition forces. But her full loyalties were to Castagne, her home world, then the CIS and then to the coalition efforts concerning other systems. Tatooine was newly acquired, but it didn't mean she was authorized to use her forces against what looked like local tribal disputes to her.

"Er, thanks...." She then replied to Chikako's invite for permission (as she took it) to approach.

"...but so you know....not too comfortable if your forces aren't trained well enough not to react on impulse but rather real threats. " Karlie spoke as she neared the transport and got closer to the Thythe forces.
"They shouldn't be shooting anyone on mere technicalities of possible misunderstandings." She was meaning that they would be poorly trained if they were to shoot anyone based merely on their perception of what were wrong answers.

" Think best I drop my belt, lest i get shot for maybe sneezing or tripping...." She then said, making sure not to make any sudden moves.
And first pointing with her index to her buckle, while arms were away from the blaster, Karlie slowly released it and the holstered blaster fell on the desert floor.
No, the young princess's warning was not at all assuring that her men could be trusted to make a decisive call on shooting or not. Karlie wasn't going to take their initial exchange of what the hell happened here verbatim...not till she was certain. She'd have to assest the damage here and see if they had some similarities.

She finally got to within two meters of the young princess and the tall tribesman next to her, as calm a matter as she could, despite the burning suns beating down on her.
"Here..." She extended the water pouch to the Tuskan.
"..and thank you for the water. Very civil of you."
As she did so, she got a better view as to the damage on the nomadic settlement. Yes, it too looked like it ascertained pretty much the same manner of attack.

"Huts you say?.." She gave a better look about before returning her attention to the Princess.
"Ok, yea....I'll buy that..." She returned her eyes on Chikako.
"Had to be sure. The settlement I came from was of a permanent dwellings...adobe in nature. This one is nomadic. Two distinctly opposite people.
I thought that perhaps the attacks were of local disputes between the two classes..." She turned to look over the smoldering remains of the settlement.
"But the path of destruction and means seem to coincide with the same unique tactical assaults....both were hit by the same forces.
Huts, huh?
If you don't mind me asking, but do you have any evidence to substantiate a sanctioned raid on said Huts?"
Sure they were CIS and the Princess could be no other than Princess [member="Chikako Liona"] of Thythe, a Viceroy no less. But Karlie had not been aware of any authorized sanctions dealing with local disputes, only that of Imperial Remnants forces. Karlie herself was authorized to enact and use Marshall Law if such circumstances called for it. But it were not something that she used liberally.

Then again, Karlie was not a Viceroy ...her father was. If she were asked by Chikako to join forces with Thythe forces, then there best be some substantial evidence for her to commit in doing so.

[SIZE=11pt]After taking his water back, A'Runda would try his best to answer the question asked by [member="Karlie Lynn Destat"]. "Well to be honest the Hutt hasn't been very sneaky with their violent take over the the region. Ask any locals about the attacks and they'll tell you it's the Hutts. Plus the double attacks on both Tuskens and farmers was a common tactic in the past. They start conflict between the two groups to sell cheap arms from the Jawas." The Tusken explained to her.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Although he didn’t know what substantiate meant, he had a good enough idea. But all in all the Tusken wasn’t all too aware of the more judicial and bureaucratic methods of dealing with threats such as these Hutts they were up against. “Personally I’d find it hard to believe anyone on Tatooine really cares much for the proper legal way things should be dealt with. Even with the planet being under the umbrella of the CIS. I heard that even at the height of the Republic, their currency wasn’t even in use here. But then again if anyone wants to see this place get any better, going the way things have always been hasn’t really helped much either.” Nonetheless as a local he’s say that Monarchs presence is justified.[/SIZE]

And THAT just came from one of the so-called primitive sentient. Karlie had to do a double take at the Tusken. His statement of nothing changing around here but the guards truck her as this sentient being more than what had come to be expected of the sand people. Well Ok, he didn't put it in those words, but they had the same meaning and the same impact.
Karlie nodded in agreement at his take on what had become the mainstay of law and order on this dust bowl. It were true. If Tatooine were to see changes, then the CIS had to show and prove as to what justice meant with them demonstrating proper law and order.

First, Karlie were no Viceroy like pretty little [member="Chikako Liona"]. As thus, despite Karlie had command of 100 battle droids at her current disposal, she nonetheless had to consider the retributions of her actions on this newly acquired system. Anyone with a big enough force could command any situation. But also showing reserve and proper restraint would justify their worthiness as a just faction.
Karlie was certainly a part of the greater CIS coalition forces, which for the most part had jurisdiction in handling and fighting enemy forces that were either present or encroaching upon CIS sovereignty.
Just that as far as Karlie knew of the Hut situation here on Tatooine, the Huts had also been on the system since anyone could remember. There wasn’t much on Tatooine that didn't include Huts throughout its history. So as she figured, the Huts here had as much claim to Tatooine as any established sentient. This made such attacks domestic disputes and should be first handled from within. It were the only way for a system like Tatooine to become self governing and even one day have a Viceroy.

This meant that what [member="A’Runda"] claimed and as far as what Karlie herself witnessed, it were indeed a domestic dispute. For her or the Viceroy of Tythe to commit to a counter strike in force against the Huts meant that they were taking up a side and that meant they were putting the CIS in a position to dictate that they were Totalitarians…not much at all differentiating themselves from the former Imperials that had a choke hold on the system prior to it’s liberation.
It were this concern that had Karlie question the actions that were about to be set in motion. Again, Chikako were indeed a Viceroy of Tythe and had the authority to call such an action against even a domestic aggressor; but Karlie were representing Castagne, one of the jewels of the CIS and she certainly didn’t wish for her system and the CIS as a whole to come off as bullies. After all, Tatooine wasn’t under a Fascist regime anymore and to act as such- well, there had to be other options. There just had to be other options which should be explored first…right?

Yes, Karlie was indeed sympathetic to the Tusken before her. She was not casting a blind eye as to the otrocities here in this village and that of the settlement she just came from. Both were left in ruins by said Huts or their goonies. But what if said attacks were just between the settlers and the Tusken tribes? Would the CIS be right in choosing a side?
No, she didn't think so. Karlie believed the CIS would find the means of settling this without resorting to annihilating one group or another. Not everyone in a said group were to be put to the sword, so to say. Every group had its leaders. If one were to lead a group to commit atrocities, then those leaders should be totally responsible to say the least.
One wouldn't execute an entire army because of one bad general...

“I’m one for justice and administrating laws which are broken. But to counter-strike the Huts is not entirely in the scope of serving justice. I mean…shouldn’t they be served with a cease and assist warrant first? Like…find out who at the head gave the orders and …and you know, arrest them?...bring them to trial?
To simply amass forces and strike back seems a bit uhm… you know, feudal?” She replied, eyeing the Thathe soldiers getting a bit more leverage on their weapons.

“A Viceroy could issue such a warrant and if need be, it can then be legally backed up by a police action when they resist…that’s all I’m saying.” She looked over to Chikako, hoping the young Viceroy of Tythe would take her meaning.

"We don’t need to be Imperial replacement but demonstrate our fair system of government…to even the law breakers…the criminals.
I mean…well, we’re better than the Imperials and many other forms or factions of that teen this galaxy. Why not show Tatooine how proper due process of law should work?” Then again, Karlie were more referring as to how it mostly worked on her home world of Castagne.
She herself were just one of the upper ranking operatives of the IBI, just one of the executive branches of the Castan government.

Whether or not this exercise were to be a police or military action remained to be seen. It all really depended on the Viceroy standing there before her in full battle armor. After all, Chikako could make the call either way, and it would be legal. Just that with a police action, it would shed better light on the CIS as just and not be a Totalitarian faction like the Imperials before them.

She gave a command to have her little retinue lower their guard and allow the women to approach after hearing she was apart of the CIS, though on could never be certain on Tatooine, the place never seemed to attain any sort of proper law enforcement or proper government. Truth be told she didn't know much about Castagne but felt no sort of deception from the girl, but once more she didn't know why the women was all the way over here on Tatooine, she sure was asking a lot of question about her right to be carrying out this military operation, though Chikako felt that the blondey wasn't free of doing something herself that could be considered questionable.

She remained silent as [member="A'Runda"] explained the current situation, he more then a any would have an unbiased opinion on the current events and her involvement in the whole ordeal, even if he was banished from the tribe, not that Karlie needed to know that. Was she even knowledgeable on Tusken customs? Considering that most couldn't speak galactic basic she wouldn't have been surprised if much about how the native community worked was still largely unknown to most people living outside of Tatooine. Hopfully the little speech and more light on the whole situation would allow them to get back to the task at hand, but it seemed Karlie was still questioning the whole operation and trying to put forward a more negotiable arrangement, it was odd but a little humorous, she certainly had not been here when the CIS took over the desert planet.

Looked like she was going to have to explain things more fully and present a different view of the whole situation at hand. "Ms Karlie, I understand that line of thinking but that is what happened during the CIS take over of the planet, the current Hutt lord ruling over the world when the Empire left had his entire palace and everything inside it blown up by, get this, generically engineered Hutt babies with bombs inside of them". "Everything in the palace was blow to smithereens, and those serving the Hutt crime lord were hunted down, by both our own forces and mercenaries hired on the day". In comparison her actions here was much more humane and gentle, heck she could have easily just had her ships in orbit just bombard the Hutt palace and be off, but instead she was down here fighting a land war.

"In addition this Hutt is not a native, he is an invader who came here with a private army and took over land, that is an invasion and attack, this is not some domestic dispute but a war, a war between the Tatooine settlers/natives and the Hutt cartels". "Just because it does not involved millions of black or white cladded troopers or droids, heaps of ships and star fighters does not make it any less, to the people here a skirmish between a few hundred people would be considered the a huge battle". "So in a sense I am not dispencing justice or over stepping my rights as a ruler, I am just an allied planet supporting the natives in their war against the hutt, is thee anything wrong with that? Other planets in the CIS do the same, most giving troops to our current over arching military in the current annexations of nearby worlds". The most noteworthy being Tythe neighboring world ruled by Tacitus, the former ruler of the Ancient Eye and now current Emperor of the world, said planet churning out thousands of battle droids, organic soldiers and ship for the CIS war effort and nearby worlds that needed military support.

She gave small sigh before continuing on, "lastly, yes and know, the CIS isn't as totalitarian as the Empire, even though it was well known he Galactic Empire didn't care about Tatooine and let it run itself, but we are not lax like the republic, many times there have been rebellions on worlds, most notably was that one with the spider peoples". "Lord Metus had all the rebel overestimated and killed without mercy, same with a Vong tribe on Rodia and much more, not to mention certain worlds that are under dictatorships and are highly militaristic", once again like her neighboring planet along with Media and Dan and so forth. "I can understand your own views but over all the CIS suppress people like these Hutt crime lords without much thought of a trial and justice, but if it makes you feel any better I myself am going to try and find answers, one of the reasons why we are conducing a ground assault, does that answer your questions"?

"Uhm...yea, quite a bit to process, but yea I kinda get the drift..." She nodded, a bit more relaxed seeing that the majority of the Tythe forces had lowered their weapons.

It were always a bit rough around the edges when conversing with a Viceroy of another system, especially since each system were for the most part able to retain their self right to governing and policies. That is, as long as they didn't conflict with that of the whole.

Karlie were no Viceroy, just a daughter of one which really meant nothing more here than her being an executive officer of one of Castagne's executive branches. This meant she held no authority outside of Castagne unless it were given to her by her own Viceroy. The latter, had been given. But it was just permission/authorization for Karlie to use Tatooine as a testing ground for her battle droids. The very same she had acquired from Darth Tacitus by proxy. The 1,000 units were her take on invite from the dark lord to go on a treasure hunt. Karlie had come away with 1,000 battle droid units, and she had brought 100 units to tatooine to test them out.

Needless to say, she had rarely interacted with a Viceroy, if she even realized that she had been in the presence of a few, unknowingly. Still, she had met the Vicelord...once. Her one time experience with the Vicelord of Viceroys Metus himself in the Melida/Dann campaign, which had left her with a kind of uneasy feeling, as to the humanitarian aspect of what the CIS were meant to stand for.
That uneasy experience with the Vicelord followed right after the CIS had turned a blind eye to one of it's neighboring faction which included the system of Alderaan, when it had come under attack by TSE.

In Karlie's point of view, the CIS failed in providing much needed support to that faction in their most dire moment. By the time Karlie had gotten permission from her own father, Viceroy Tarssin Destat to help, the sith had retreated and all that was left was the clean-up following the aftermath. All she were able to do was round up some sith stragglers and appologize on behalf of castagne and the CIS for not engaging the sith sooner.
The only other CIS Viceroy to show up after the fact like she did, was Derek Dib...who himself seemed quite dissented in the CIS lack of military support for their neighbors also.
These small connected, not connected incidents played heavily on her mind and conscious. Was there a pattern of betrayal that connected everything back to TSE? Her mind pondered this for quite sometime.

So despite Karlie not in full disclosed agreement, nevertheless conceded to Chikako. After all, the young girl was a Viceroy and could as easily dismiss her, if not altogether incarcerate her for trying to interfere.
"My apologizes if I came off a bit too forward. I weren't aware that your person were a Viceroy when I spotted your vessel. I was just able to conclude it were an armed vessel from Tythe.
But yes, I do understand that your presence here does grant you full authority in dealing with enemies of the state... enemies of the CIS, rather."

Well, that still didn't quite answer the question still up on the table as to why and how were she here in the flats all by herself.
"As for me being here... I've gotten authorization by Viceroy Tarssin Destat of Castagne system, to field test a few droids I acquired." She no doubt left out the 'battle' aspect of the units out of her explanation... and the fact that besides having 10 units just out of sight, that there were another 90 dormant units back at her base camp.

Karlie knew little of Chikako really... and in her limited experience with Viceroys of other systems thus far, one could say Karlie was not too trustingly open with them. Allies, yes. But as of late, karlie was finding herself struggling more often than not with what she determined to be her conscious. Something she sort of lacked when she had been shrouded in darkness cast.
Her home world Castagne had joined the CIS not too long ago, as the faction seemed on the whole, one which shared the same values as that of her home world. Only as Karlie came to experience, it were not entirely true of all the CIS systems...at least it were what she personally felt. Then again, she was no politician... but an analyst and scientist. It were her nature to question things... question workings...even policies, which for the most part got her into quite a few debates sometimes.

"I was going through some trials just 13 or so kilometers South of here like I said, when I came across one of the settlements that had been hit. Seemed either everyone there got fried or some survivors managed to escaped into the open desert...I don't know.
Then the smoke we picked up coming from this direction...
Sigh...
Well, came to discover this settlement got it too." She gestured to the still smoldering tents and carcasses in the background." She stopped a moment, realizing how she must of sounded describing the Tusken's village still smoldering.

"Er...sorry for your loss by the way. Didn't mean to sound indifferent... its just how I report findings..." She had turned a moment to apologize to A'Runda before continuing with her explanation.

"Anyway...
That's when I spotted and recognized the CIS markings on your vessel. I wasn't sure as to your doings here and... And I guess curiosity got me standing here...."
Appearances were deceiving most times, if not all the time. Chikako could well be a just and fair Viceroy... one trustworthy enough for Karlie to befriend. But Viceroys in her experience rarely befriended executives like her.

"...in the presence of Tythe's Viceroy." No, Castagne had not been involved in the liberation of Tatooine. Then neither had a lot of other CIS systems. Not every system entered every campaign. To do so would certainly leave open many back doors for their enemies to exploit.
But it didn't mean that a system which had not participated in the campaign could not explore as to what a said liberated system had to offer.
For Karlie, Tatooine's uninhabited open expanses served quite well in testing out newly acquired battle droids. Only that she had not expected to come across a situation such as this.

"Which...
If you don't mind me asking..." No, she couldn't help herself sometimes.

"If you're here looking after Tatooine's interest...who's minding Tythe?"
