- Firing- After heating and charging plasma in Derumium based capacitors, the rifle fires a high powered beam of energy at its target that can make effective hits at long distance.
- Reloading is done by having the capacitors charge, which would be necessary after about 30-40 volleys.
- Dark Side Radiance- like all Derumium based technologies, the flayer rifle radiates a sensation of Dark Side energy when a force sensitive touches the firearm.
- Pain caused by getting hit by an energy beam can also fuel dark side force users, or at least be sensed tremendously by force sensitives in proximity to the carnage.
- Capacity for Disintigration- The energy beams blasted from the rifle are so high powered they can often disintigrate parts of the target that are hit by the beam.
- Hits from the beams of energy also cause extreme pain to the target if they live past the inital impact of the energy blast as the part of their body hit is disintegrated atom by atom extrordinarilly quickly.

- High Power Recoil- the high powered nature of the beams of energy blasted from the capacitors and cells in the rifle's mechanisms creates a great amount of recoil that only the artificial strength of the Derumic Android Soldiers.
- Organics that may pick it up will probably sutain injury, or have a hard time controlling the blast at the least, depending on the strength of the individual.
One of the first inventions by the scientists and alchemists under the employ of the ancient Sith Lord, Akhuul Sautra, before the eruption of the Great Hyperspace War. It was designed as a standard weapon to be used by the soldiers when Akhuul planned to involve his forces in the Sith powerstruggle that festered since the funeral of Marka Ragnos. Where most armies of his rivals were armed for melee combat, Akhuul planned to exploit this by making ranged weapons for the common soldier in his army to wield. From this idea, and the minds working to develop Derumium based technology present, the Derumic Rifle was developed.
At the time, it was among the most powerful weapons produced on a large scale. However, in modern times (time of this post) it is more equivalent to technology that exists today, and only excels in comparison to the norm in a few niche ways. Its ability to disintigrate portions of organic targets when hit is among its abilities to either kill, incapacitate, or horribly maim foes of Sautra's forces. Hits from the beams of super charged, and heavily powered, plasma produced energy causes great pain in the target if they still live upon immediate impact from a beam fired from the rifle. The horde of Derumic Android soldiers are only armed with this weapon, and are programmed to operate in large firing lines launching volley after volley against their enemy in a continous advance across the battlefield.
The rifle itself is not very accurate, which is the main reason for the volley fire and gun-line tactics employed in its usage by the Derumic Androids. Because much technology exists that is equivalent to this rifle, its encumbering size and weight making it difficult for non-androids to wield it, and it only being used by the isolated Derumic Androids means that this technology is incapable of being abused by the greater galaxy.
