Private Dealing in the dark

"Yeah, I ain't one for standing still. He's somewhere we ain't; let's go solve that problem." he remarked to Jax. All around them had been slain, their lifeless bodies posing no further threat to the Jedi and smuggler. He headed off in a hurry, but aside from the most general sense of 'further within the ship', Crosten wasn't quite sure where they were going or where Osmos was. Then again, he couldn't claim any experience in storming imperial freighters; but he was with someone who might be able to do just that.

"I take it you know where we're going, yeah?" he quipped in inquiry, his blaster still held at the ready as the two moved over the forms of their fallen foes and through the hangar. They made it as far as one of the doors; and the smuggler wisely took a position of cover on the wall beside it, ready to peek out and start blasting should trouble lay behind it.

"All set to breach this doorway? Can you trip the switch?" he asked. They clearly had some telekinetic ability, these force users. The sith nearly killed him with it, and Jax had saved it by the same power. If he could trip while away from the doorway, they'd enjoy the element of surprise should anything lie in wait behind it. The wise smuggler was looking for any advantage he could get

Jax paused when Crosten mentioned that if he knew where he was going. "Oh shit," he said chuckling a bit. "Not at all," he could say the force would guide them but it'll come across as fracking cheesy. "Why don't we find a terminal and locate our Sith friend?" He asked nervously. "Before-" Just then more troopers about 5 of them came from an elevator charging at them firing their blasters. "Well what do you know?" Jax said activating his Lightsaber to deflect the shots. "They're practically throwing out the red carpet! At least we know where to go!"

Crosten simply looked back with stunned silence at the response. He sure didn't have a clue; he was a smuggler and this was well outside of his element. The wrinkles in his face and furrow of his eyebrows spoke of his dismay, blaster in hand - a provider of security in uncertain times.

"Y'got a means to download the layout?" Crosten inquired back, well perplexed and at a loss of direction. He sure didn't have a clue what he was doing here, and he knew it. Eyeing the doorway before turning about, he caught sight of the arrivals just as the warning left the mouth of his Jedi companion.

More targets - and Jax was sure right; Crosten knew exactly what to do in this situation. His arm snapped forward to bring his blaster in line with the new found targets, letting loose two shots of blaster fire into the assailing newcomers. Dashing laterally, the smuggler next began to seek cover; finding it behind a parked imperial starship. With one more shot to cover himself, Crosten slipped behind the vehicle, shielded from further fire while he prepared his next shots.

"Well," Jax said as deflecting incoming blaster bolts. "There has to be a computer wall socket somewhere in this room! I'm sure a smuggler like you has the means to download a ships schematics from that socket."
If only BB-12 was here, then again he'll probably cry about the prospect of doing work again even under heavy fire. That fracking droid really needs to get his motivator fixed. One of the bolts connected to a soldier's head a small, burning hole was formed on his helmet as he fell down face first. "All we need to do is to find the socket, locate the Sith Lord and use the Elevator to get to him!" The Jedi said weaving his Lightsaber around his body to bat away incoming fire.
"I'll hold them off Crosten!" Jax shouted as three more soldiers came from the Elevator. "Just locate the Sith Lord." Another deflected blaster shot struck a soldier's knee as Jax leapt towards his position slashing his chest. As inexorable as a destroyer droid, Jax slowly advanced on the firing soldiers deflecting shots with ease.

Well he did have such a reader, it was regrettably back on board the ship where it sure wasn't doing them any good. Planning had been put to the side due to how hectic the situation was, and the fact that the smuggler had no idea what to prepare for. When Jax volunteered himself to provide cover, Crosten dove back inside his battered starship with blaster fire tearing into the flooring around his frantic footsteps. He dove back into the entrance just as another blaster shot rang against the ships armour; once the fire had died down the smuggler burst back onto the floor with a flurry of fire from his blaster; a chaotic series of shots that caused their foes to shield themselves with cover.

The smuggler looked around, eyes scanning the area for any such computer that might do the job. And there, off against the opposite wall he found it.

"Got the reader; making a break for it!" He called out, taking one more scan of his surroundings before he made a full-on sprint towards the machine. It sure looked like it would be what he was looking for. Maybe. Hopefully? He honestly didn't have a clue, but it was far more practical to test and find out firsthand, than wait and deliberate about it.

While Crosten made a break for it Jax felt a disturbance in the force as five more Sith Troopers entered the fray. "Well chit," he said ducking a blaster bolt that was aimed for this head. His Lightsaber cackled and hissed as the bolts bounced harmlessly off his blade with a third at the shots fired heading for the two soldiers in front of Jax. The Jedi heard a scream and the pair of trioopers simultaneously fell down motionless. Jax continued his advancement waving his hand to crush an explosive fuel tank located in the right corner. The tank exploded killing three troopers.
"Too fracking easy," Jax mumbled doing a half spin batting a blaster bolt to another trooper the laser piercing his neck before Jax sliced his chest with a vertical slash. "Hopefully Crosten can locate our little friend," he said. "These folks just don't know when to quit."

He had just made it to the computer when he heard the noise of blaster shots bouncing off the Jedi's lightsaber, more company had just arrived. With the situation so hectic once again, there was no time to confirm whether he had the right machine or not; Crosten would simply connect the reader and attempt to download the plans, hoping he had chosen correctly. He wouldn't be able to tell until the transfer was complete; If he got an error instead of the schematics he'd know he wasted time on the wrong one.

The download continued automatically. The new arrivals required the smuggler's attention immediately, but by the time he had his blaster at the ready, the Jedi had already slaughtered them all. Still, he remained alert while back-lit from the flickering glow from the monitor. Just as the screen flashed with an accompanying sound that signalled the data transfer's completion, another door flew open as even more Sith began to pour out in pursuit of them.

"Dank Farrik, we got more!" Crosten announced loudly, firing off another flurry of shots from his blaster that managed to kill one and cause the others to seek cover. In the brief window he had, Crosten returned his attention to the computer; and his hopes were answered by the affirmatory message that greeted him. With the transfer complete, the smuggler took the reader and pocketed it before taking cover behind the machine; just in time too, as return fire from the Sith destroyed the computer in the very next instant.

"Frizz!" He uttered before peering out from cover and firing more shots at the sith.

"We gotta go this way, over here! My turn, I'll cover!" the smuggler shouted, firing off a continued volley of blaster fire to cover Jax's passage over to him.
