DC Comics RP

I was wondering if there were any other DC Comics/Universe fans here on Chaos who are part of or would like to create a role play story from that fandom.

I've done some searches for DC role play threads, but haven't found much and not the quality of writing I've grown accustom to here on Chaos with it's fantastic story tellers.

I thought there was a non star wars role play sub section on this site at one time, but regardless of that I would like to form or join a group of others who would be interested in doing a DC role play story. On a separate site of course.

If anyone is interested or has some other site suggestions for an active DC role play forum please let me know! I didn't even see anything for the official DCUO website... :/

Typically, you'll see Marvel characters. A lot of DC characters look overtly cartoon, whereas Marvel is more into realism.

Well there are different mediums for each comic franchise. Though my preference for role play purposes is DC related. My ideas for possible stories are to take elements from the DC franchise, not directly follow a single medium like the animated series, films or a single comic story line.

This goes back, but there is roleplay outside of the internet. The quality varies even more but social media sites like instagram, tumblr (with caution) and twitter have large roleplay communities for just about anything. I used to RP Mon-El (Supermans cousin) in a group called Insta League. I also ran a group called Justic Unchained. Then I found SWRPC and I never returned. There was a good DC/Marvel group called Xtreme on instagram.

Surprisingly, over my nearly 10 years of roleplaying, I never knew until last year that there was communities like this on the web. I found chaos when looking google images for a picture of the city zeltron, which linked back here when I hit view page for high res. You can imagine my surprise when I found a post with many many paragraphs of quality writing and a site formatted for that very idea. I soon quit my roleplaying on instagram and came here, but I'll never forget them.

I'll look into your suggestions, though ideally what I would love is basically everything you can find here on SWRP CHAOS but instead be DC inspired rather than Star Wars. But the very least find fans and writers on this site who would want to follow a similar thread fashion when role playing for the DC theme. I too found Choas by accident years ago haha.

I don't think you want it that bad, but you know. And also, star wars is very versatile if you wanted to make a dc comics inspired type character here. Just throwing out suggestions, anyways good luck!

Thank you Nymeria, I feel almost any fandom can be formatted to what we have here on Chaos.

In terms of races like Kryptonians, Metas, Atlanteans, Amazons other aliens etc...

Alignments like the Lantern Corps, Vigilantes, Government Operatives, War Lords etc...

Locations iconic places on Earth, Mars, Alien Worlds, Mystical Dimensions and even draw up faction maps.

To create my own site inspired from Chaos would be awesome, but for the moment I'm seeking out like minded individuals to at least make one DC role play story.

I've been looking into different forums, the only one that comes to mine is Fanfiction.net where you can sign in and make a private or public sub forum and sub threads.

Ultimate Top Sites has both Marvel and DC.

Some of the best out there are listed and I've frequented some of them in the past.

Just Google that.

Some will Mix in Marvel and DC but most are separated.

I think that would be cool and interesting to try out. Create a character on here that's inspired from a DC one. Mine would be based off Amanda Waller, the government official, liaison and manipulator.

Would the concept of say a Justice League work in a galaxy far, far away? Abilities would be tailored to fitting the star wars possibilities, but it is a curious thought. Would they be sworn to the entire galaxy, one world or a system? Would they just be a mobile league of vigilantes who simply combat villains and crime in throughout the galaxy?

If you guys are interested in doing that, what ideas do you have for a possible thread our DC inspired characters can flourish?

@Z'Zharen, I'd be down with a canon DC game, so long as it's not grounded in the far-too-dark DC Cinematic Universe.

As said, I have a decently established Dark Knight, and this guy the equivalent of Hawkeye/Green Arrow. Don't have many ideas currently, but I could work together with others.

But, I would recommend bound to the universe as a whole.
