PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Ensign Ridell stands at a rigid average height with a lean, wiry athletic frame, possessing a striking appearance that captures Imperial military discipline. His warm, tan complexion carries the healthy tint of someone under the bright sun of Dubrillion, giving a sharp contrast to his expressive, intense brown eyes. His most distinct feature is his thick, raven hair; the top displaying a slightly longer, sweeping volume that frames his face, while the sides and back are meticulously trimmed and tapered to clean his uniform collar.

He wears the standard-issue black uniform of an ensign, which is kept spotless as humanly possible that it looks premium. A black leather belt with three metal plates hugs his 30-inch waist, his boots are buffed to a mirror shine, and his service cap sits precisely aligned above his brows, holding his sweeping hair perfectly in place.

SE-14r light repeating blaster, commlink, datapad, vibrorapier(he only brings out the latter for potential close quarters combat)

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

While on duty Davin Ridell is the consummate professional: reliable, calm and articulate. He gives the air of an idealized officer, masking his provincial roots through impeccable posture and a firm adherence to military protocol.

Beneath that exterior, however, Davin is a chronic overthinker. He has an immense sense of personal accountability that stretches to a fault. To cope, Davin weaponizes his work ethic, turning his duties as an Imperial officer into a refuge where the rules are clear and performance is directly within his control.

He enjoys strategy games, being able to plan out scenarios and test ideas and theories.

Coming from a family with pro-Fel sympathies, he believes in the ideals of an empire based on merit, principled loyalty and faithful service to such a state and its subjects. He judges the current state of the galaxy in need of such order, while recognizing it is easier than done due to the past failures of previous Imperial regimes. It makes him all the more determined to fight for it, especially for his beloved family that he had to leave behind.

HISTORY

Davin Ridell was born on the planet Dubrillion, the eldest child of a respected local mayor and his wife, a dedicated schoolteacher. For generations, the Ridell family had been staunch Fel loyalists. Since the founding of that imperial dynasty, their ancestors had served with quiet distinction—many making great sacrifices—yet few had ever achieved renown. This proud but understated legacy was deeply impressed upon Davin by his father, Iosef, while his mother, Sarei instilled in him a strong work ethic and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

Over time, Davin became the elder brother to four younger siblings—two brothers and twin sisters. The responsibilities of helping raise them while his parents worked forged in him the foundations of leadership, discipline, and accountability. Yet even as he embraced these duties, the young man yearned to carve out an identity of his own, beyond simply being the mayor's son. He threw himself into amateur shock-boxing, competitive marksmanship, and fencing, while excelling in his studies of galactic military history and advanced navigation.

As a teenager, Davin began a passionate relationship with Eria Thornn, a talented fencer who was both his rival and his first love. Their romance ended in tragedy. While driving a speeder with Eria as his passenger, Davin was momentarily distracted and collided with a hovertruck. He survived, but Eria did not. The accident plunged him into a profound depression, and the crushing weight of guilt has haunted him ever since.

At his father's urging, the seventeen-year-old Davin enrolled at the Gilad Pellaeon Military Institute in Dubrillion's capital—an imperial-style academy far from home. There, he proved himself a model cadet: hardworking, diligent, and always willing to volunteer for extra duties. At twenty-one, he graduated seventh in his class and was commissioned as a naval ensign.

When reports reached Dubrillion of Bastian's rising new regime, local imperial loyalists quickly organized a contingent of volunteers. Among them was Ensign Davin Ridell, who eagerly joined the fledgling navy to honor his family's long tradition of service and to finally forge his own path among the stars.
