Dagobah Now - REDUX

Yuroic decided to politely refrain from disagreeing with Master Nooran, he didn't feel ready for leadership, part of him still felt like a Padawan at times. There was so much to the Force one could learn, it was like staring at a painting, each time something new could be identified. Marl and several Rangers joined them as well, this seemed to be a heavily armed and fombat experienced team for a mission to help the planet recover from recent war. It had been Yuroic's decision to bring Rangers in and with plenty of weapons, while the Imperial forces had been pushed back, there was a chance that stragglers had been left planet side. Even if there weren't any, the wildlife of Dagobah was notorious for not being the friendliest of beasts. Though, this would be Yuroic's first time to the planet.

He looked over at Tanaski, he smiled slightly. "Easy mission, reach the surface and help the Galactic Alliance ensure Dagobah's survival. Taking care of wildlife and the plantlife, nothing exciting today fortunately. Rangers are with us in case we meet some Imperial forces abandoned on the world or some of the wildlife attack us. It's likely they will, scared from the fires and destruction to their homes. So if any of you know Beast Control, be prepared to use it, we don't want to harm the wildlife." Moving to Marl, he continued, "tell your men to only stun if necessary, we don't want to kill the beasts of Dagobah. If things get tricky, contact me, I have experience in using Beast Control, I should be able to calm anything you meet."

Yuroic laughed as he heard Allyson call the Force voodoo, it was strange, he thought he had sensed the Force within the woman but he could have been wrong. She was surrounded by plenty of them in the shuttle so he might not have sensed it at all, it was tricky to say. However, he smirked and called to the pilot, "If we don't do our voodoo magic, how will these young Padawans get your number?" He joked back friendly, Yuroic was grateful for a pilot, his flying skills were subpar for now.

As Jerit buckled into the rather tight seat, he heard the announcements from the pilot, Allyson, and chuckled a bit. Voodoo, what a term for the force. His Master already beat his thought of saying it was saved for the surface. It made Jerit chuckle a little more to himself. When he was offered to go and "wander" into the cockpit, Jerit refused to. He didn't want to take any lessons on flying today and he didn't want to disturb the pilot already. If anything, he sort of understood about flying a shuttle. It seemed super boring to him with having no adventure. He would rather fly into a fantastic battle with ships flying in all directions. The thrill of it made his mind race through the thought.

Jerit looked through the window out in the deep vast void of the galaxy. It was amazing to think that most of these little specs were nothing compared to the entire galaxy and that the force surrounded it all. It was a calming thought. He shifted a bit in his seat trying to get comfortable. As they reach the atmosphere of Dagobah, Jerit felt overwhelmed by the amount of force energy that seemed to "possess" the planet. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time. Jerit breathed in and out on a meditation beat. He would have to get used to this when he got off of the shuttle.

Asaraa watched her master conversing with the other Padawan, he looked familiar…the boy from the life day party. The young woman’s brow furrowed as she considered him umm Draven right, that sounded right. His scars seemed to be healing well, the Togruta let her gaze slide away from the conversing pair, catching Tanaski’s gaze with a grin before flicking over to check on Wilkins. If the corporal did drop another crate then she was really going to have him standing patrol on the most obscure, frozen world she could find.

She reached for her datapad, flicking through the information for a moment. Dagobah, the planet of swamps and not much else, but it seemed important if everyone desperately wanted to hold onto it so badly. The sound of Yuroic calling her name snapped the Padawan out of her reverie as she slipped the datapad into her pocket padding over to the shuttle. “Well, hopefully, nothing down there decides that I taste good,” she muttered to herself, she’d had quite enough of creatures trying to eat her before thank you very much. Nodding at the other occupants of the shuttle as she slipped into her seat, pulling her harness tight as she listened to the interplay between Yuroic and Jyoti. There seemed to be some kind of undercurrent there she wasn’t aware of but…she’d have to ask Yuroic about it later. Even Asaraa wasn’t so straightforward as to ask something like that in a crowded place.

Draven watched his master go from person to person, but never approach him. The teen snorted and looked away, not wanting to show the disappointment on his face. So badly had he sought the man's approval, but when it had been given, it was sparse, and cut short. He gently ran a hand over the enormous scar running along the side of his face, wincing, he knew that he would never look the same, and let out a deep sigh, trying to not to show weakness. Looking up once again at his master, and shaking his head, going back to looking at the hilts of his sabers. All the Padawan wanted was his approval, a chance to show that he had not been mistaken when taking him on. Perhaps he would get that on this mission. The last certainly had only shown his recklessness, and he had been scolded by the other jedi heavily when he returned to the temple.

When a Mandalorian dreadnought had dropped out of hyperspace above Dagobah after the battle it was understandable that that every gun was trained on him and his Hawks. A shuttle dropped him and several other Mandalorians down into the swamp world below. Soon more Shriek-Hawk ships would drop out of hyperspace and bolster the defense of the GA as they cleaned up their mess and attempted to fix what could be fixed.

"What a mess," he mumbled as he looked out the viewport of his LAAT. The wreckage of starships littered the stars.

By the time he arrived on the ground the Field Brooms were already hard at work chewing away and discard blasters, speeders, basically anything with metal that was left behind or crashed during the battle. The Mandalorians had nearly threatened his business arrangements with the GA and he could tell with the amount of wary GA soldiers hovering around the Mandalorians as they worked and set up their little prefabricated garrison that they still weren't to be trusted.

Veino states at the battle scans, illustrating what had happened and the results. It was mysterious. For some reason, the Enpire had withdrawn. They had really achieved very little. As hard as he could tell, they hadn’t reached any of their objectives. The command cruiser had been defended.

But still, something was off. Around him, techs and officers rushed about the prefab base as it was constructed. He had to think ahead and decide what another attack might target. These prefab bases were ones. The Dark side cave. But really. there was no point in assaulting the planet. It held no real value.

So there had to be another reason. Veino pursed and pulled a political map of the galaxy. A frown etched itself across his face. It would certainly cut off the southern territories and make them more difficult. Not the planet itself, in that case, but the location. Well, that just meant they had to be doubly sure to not lose this planet.

Ally couldn’t help but chuckle at the comment about getting her number for the padawans. The pilot shook her head as she knew none of them had the courage to ask her for her number. Though, Jyoti had her contact information, yet the woman seemed upset now. Sighing softly, she continued the rest of the flight in silence. The Jedi were doing what they do best, meditate and keep to themselves. Ally mused to herself as she wondered what was going on with this mission. She had signed up to be on the ground, but piloting a shuttle of Jedi was something new.

The shuttle moved towards the atmosphere of the planet, it shook and then slowly started to get violent. Cursing, Allyson knew that she needed to stabilize it, but if she didn’t do it quick enough the whole thing would start to spiral out of control. Her hands moved from the controls and on to the panel of the shuttle. Using the force, she managed to control the area around the shuttle to help stabilize it. The Force bled through the shuttles workings and the machine stabilized itself shifting and rotating with the turbulence.

Breaking through planet’s atmosphere, the shuttle stayed stabilized and finally made it to the surface of the lovely planet Dagobah. “Sorry about that Jedi mates, but we’re here. Tips are always accepted by the way. Thank you for flying Air Allyson.” The shuttle’s hatch opened allowing the Jedi to leave, Allyson on the other hand exited through the shuttle’s cockpit door. She stretched on the outside of the shuttle and yawned. Allyson removed her helmet and shook her long brown hair loose. Just a few flicks of her hair and it returned to its usual life. Looking around, Allyson needed to find a camp so she could get the rest of her slender frame out of the disgusting orange rogue jumper.

Yuroic heard the chuckle, it elevated his mood for when the bumpiness of entering Dagobah's atmosphere. Flying was never his strong suit, and the turbulence of the journey did upset his stomach. Thankfully he was able to not puke, which he felt was possible if the turbulence had prolonged, luckily they finally landed on the stable ground of the world. He moved from his seat, a chuckle left his lips, seemed that this pilot had a good sense of humour, something that he could appreciate. He often found others never appreciated his witty comments, especially the bad guys during a fight. They never took a moment to laugh and enjoy his jokes. It was enough proof that he needed to know the Dark Side sucks the humour out of a person.

Shifting towards the door, Yuroic watched as the pilot left through her own door. He moved from his exit point over to where she was. "Appreciate the trip, only tip I can give is talk more during the flight. You can be quite funny, something that cannot be lost during these dark days." Yuroic smiled warmly, half turning around to return to the other Jedi before he looked back at her, "if I didn't have a woman in my life, I would have asked you out. Even as a Padawan, though I think it would have been more because I was dared to rather than I had courage to talk to someone like you." He chuckled lightly, he was never brave as a young boy but he was determined to not be one upped by others. "Also, in a non-romantic way, could I get your number just so we could become friends after this trip. Though, I will stink after this, Dagobah is not kind to those who want to stay clean and tidy." He added, he waited a moment for her reply before he set off back to the others.

Reaching the other Jedi, he gave them a look, it was a good bunch that they had together. The Rangers were well trained as he believed and equipped to take on an army. "Right, we should meet the Alliance at their garrison. No point delaying, we are here to help and can't just go roaming on our own. So..." Yuroic scratched the back of his head, leadership was a weird feeling. "Lets go? Yeah, lets go..." Yeah Yuroic could tell he needed time to get use to being in charge. He headed towards the Alliance's main base on Dagobah.

Tanasuki looked at [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] with a puzzled expression as the shuttle made its approach to the surface, to a very experience traveler like himself the swaying of the ship and constant turbulence was not a problem, making it hard for the young boy to grasp why the Jedi master was looking unwell. Even more so when they landed and said, 'looked like her was just about to puke' Jedi simply got up, laughed and walked out like nothing had happened. 'I guess everyone has their quirks, why should I care'.

The shadow Jedi followed suit, unstrapping from his chair and following the Jedi master out, now laughing quietly to himself about the whole tipping comment made by their pilot, she had a sense of humor that he could get behind, it seemed today the entire crew was lost in humor. It even seemed Yuroic himself was now partaking in the little comedy show adding, and slightly rambling on about the Pilot and romantic stuff to boot, "Master, flirting at this time of day? don't get me wrong, those are some words I might use myself, but now of all times"? His voice was deliberately humors, probably a bit more so with the Jin accent added to it, but since everyone was now a standup comedian, why not join in.

Soon though it was time to talk seriously, the mission details being layed out, well sort of more like, ;hey this is what we need to do, let go, now sally forth' it was easy to tell Yuroic had never been in command before. Heck Tana could probably do a better job, his mother commanding figure rubbing off on the young Jedi when she had trained him, though is he had tho choose [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] would probably make a better commander, she was a general, even if only a padawan. Giving a light shrug Tanasuki started to follow the rough looking Jedi master, "*ahem* whatever you say master, I will be right behind you, every step of the way".

Seeing the results of the calls for help, the Silvers, the Confederacy, and some freelance pilots and operatives showing up to help out at Dagobah was a nice thing. He knew it was good to have friends. The Jedi Master was tired, the last one really wore him out, but he needed to be somewhere. He knew that the planet had the Force Nexus, the one that just worked like a beacon to the dark side. There were others preparing to get there, but setting up traps? Just for the wayward wanderer stepping too close, was smart.

He wasn’t about to allow a dark side nexus to be existing in his Alliance. Starchaser shook his head. He had made it to the FOB to refuel and resupply, get some food, and tend to his wounds. Now, feeling better, he made his way out there. Reaching to the Force, he knew the likes of [member="Veino Garn"] and [member="Jyoti Nooran"] may be arriving with him. He knew he’d need more Sentinels near that place.

What he wasn’t sure of, was that the First Order were prepping on making an appearance. He didn’t care what Ren’s Forcelings were doing, he just wanted this well locked down.

Jerit was rather quiet during the rest of the trip until they landed. He felt a huge pit of darkness opening in his stomach. He was so nervous for a reason he couldn't depict. He looked around and saw nothing but swamp on Dagobah. For a pretty scruffy looking planet, it had a lot of force energy. Jerit was surprised to say the least. As he went out, he tried to joke with [member="Tanaski Yumi"]. He had heard her comment about him crying and running away but he had paid no attention to it. If she really knew what happened then she wouldn't be doing that.

Maybe she is trying to be nice? I will have to return the favor then.

When his boots his the ramp and trudged down, Jerit glanced at Tanaski. He tried to keep his tone to a level where only she could hear him. Jerit did not want to explain that story again. He preferred to only talk about it with those who already knew it from begin there rather than spread of mouth.

"Let's hope I don't go crying and flee."

The comment came out more solemn than ever. He tried to be a comedian but he was just so focused on the force that it was almost impossible to multi task. If his master was next to him, he would try to say something to her but in an attempt to sound more jubilee.

"This place is a bit overwhelming. The force is super strong here. It's like the light side and dark side is enhanced or magnified. This dark side cave you were talking about. Sounds like a new punishment."

He looked into the wilderness once more and closed his eyes. He focused on the force and could depict both sides like black and white. There was no in between. Only absolutes.

Let's hope this cave isn't what I think it is...

Marl’s transport landed at the Alliance base, as long as Yuroic was in charge it was his duty to follow his command. While he awaited further orders he decided to brief the rangers on behalf of Yuroic. After all, if a ranger kills one of the creatures of Dagobah without trying to stun it first, it won’t look good on the reports. He got the rangers to form up around him for the brief, out of the way of everyone. Marl looked around the group.

“Look men, we’re here to only worry about leftover imperial forces. Nobody here better go “Big Game Hunting” and try and kill one of the creatures of Dagobah.” Marl warned.

“If I hear you killed one without trying to stun it first. You will be court-martialed. Do you understand?” The men gave him a loud “Yessir!” Marl was glad that they understood and continued. “As for imperials, if they are in-armed I want them stunned. If they have a blaster, and they aren’t giving up. Take them out. If I hear you took out a defenseless Imperial, you will be again court-martialed. Dismissed.” Marl said. The group then dispersed. He then awaited for Yuroic to arrive before telling the men anything else. After all this is the GA’s world and the SJO are guests.

Minutes and hours crawled past as Lyra drifted across the small islet, meeting with her pickets. They were quiet, often only greeting her with a quick nod as their gazes remained glued to the jungles that ringed around them. The engineers had finally finished excavating the tunnels beneath the surface of the lake and everyone not on duty was filing into the system. Small caverns had been excavated for shelter and supplies, along with medbays within the complex.

Munitions were being shipped in via transports. Each shuttle dropped explosives, including a fair amount of the Jairdain heavy mortars, brought by the Silver Jedi forces that had come to assist. Or maybe procured from the company. Lyra wasn't entirely sure. That wasn't exactly her concern, but she was glad that her requisition requests had finally made it through and paid off. She'd been about ready to call her sister to get her some off the black market, but that could end up getting expensive. Although, in all honesty, she wouldn't be surprised to find that her sister and their clan would make its way to Dagobah.

The mortars were hidden in pits dug around the island and covered with camouflage and thermal dampeners to help hide from scanners. Bags stuffed with dirt ringed the pits and wooden spikes were carved to deter infantry. These barricades were hidden all across the edge of the islet, along with minefields at the edge of the shoreline. If the stormtroopers came back, it would not be a pleasant experience for them.
