Faction Crown of Thorns || Knights Obsidian

APATROS

Their ranks were diminished.

The Cataclysm had been a sobering event for the Knights Obsidian. In but the span of a single day, thousands of their midst were wiped away. Either transfigured into terrifying beasts, or ripped apart by them. In the wake of this disaster, the order had committed itself to restoration. A new Lord Commander had risen - and efforts to rebuild their shattered midst were underway. Yet, while the Knights Obsidian seemed to be on the path to healing, there was discontent. Rience, former liege of the Knighthood, had witnessed the Cataclysm...and found the aftermath wanting.

Years past, when the mantle of Lord Commander rested upon his shoulders, he would have done things far differently. And while he would never attempt to divide the Knighthood with thoughts of taking back his mantle, he would take steps to ensure their midst would never again suffer. Thus, he embarked on a personal journey. One meant to discover power for the Knights - might that could be used to offset their diminished state. And, once restored, they could use this power to truly bring order to the cosmos.

His voyage took him beyond realms. To the very Netherworld from whence their adversaries hailed. Yet, unlike the terrifying Wastes that housed the demons, Rience had found himself in a Vault of Glass. And when he whispered into the abyss, she whispered back. As an intruder into the being's realm, he was met with vicious intent. His best efforts were laid low in but an instant; yet Rience was the furthest thing from terrified. Yet, rather than reduce him to a memory, the primordial one inquired why any mere mortal would be so bold as to intrude. Rience was truthful - he laid bare the plight of the Knighthood.

And, astonishingly, he found mercy. Compassion, even. As much compassion as an abyss was able to offer. From this encounter did Rience find new steps for his ambition. There was power slumbering in the Deep. Power that was ill-suited for the Lightsworn Lotus, or any other chapter for that matter. No, this power was reserved for the Thorn, and could spell the difference between their order floundering and flourishing. Thus, Rience had summoned their midst together. Apatros had been the site of the Thorn's own academy, yet today he chose a locale far more intimate. A mining camp within the planet's wastes had only run down tavern as a place to eat. Yet, for the Thorn, this location served a dual purpose.

During training ventures, it was a place of respite. Though sordid in exterior appearance, there wasn't a Thorn worth their salt who hadn't scarfed down a meal after training here. Thus, amidst their refuge would Rience call them. On the surface, the gathering was simply to break bread and to see who all had survived. And to this end, Rience was seated at the bar, nursing a shot of Corellian whiskey. But the former Lord Commander had ambitions in mind.

Ambitions for them all.

Another meeting. This one was set to be on Apatros. If Axile were an honest man then he would confess that he had never heard of the planet before. But since joining the Obsidian Order and beginning his service to the Confederacy he had been to places he hadn't heard of before. So it would be another star system to note and catalogue at the back of his mind. Another location where the Obsidian Order gathered to meet for something important. As he ventured through the Thorn Compound the Nabooian noted that this was also a training facility. No doubt this would be where he would also be exercising his mind in due course.

Although he had yet to display any prowess to his his fellow Knights Axile knew a thing or two about the Force. A curved Lightsaber blade dangled from his waist as he walked about in search for the man who had summoned him here. His abilities told him that this place was of a dark sided nature. People had suffered here. Perhaps some had even perished. In his studies of the Force Axile knew that there were two paragons to the Force that many held beliefs in. These were the Light side and then there was the Dark side of the Force. He had met with some of these people on Voltan who held such beliefs in the former, and as he approached Rience he sensed that this man held beliefs in the latter.

He stopped just a few steps away from the Sith Lord. With a sombre look and a calm tone he introduced himself: "Axile Volzap of Naboo. We meet at last. Not that I know anything about you or much of anything about the Obsidian Order. I only joined a few days ago."

Reunite
Wearing: [X] [X]

The events that had shattered the Knights Obsidian had rocked more than just the foundation of the Confederacy. Lives were taken, families destroyed. Plans, hopes, and dreams of countless were gone, ended in a matter of moments. It was a dark, twisted fate and not something easily bounced back from. And yet for Cordelia, it was not those other lives that had mattered. Yes, she had been affected by the loss, hit with the impact of such a tragedy, but not for the same reasons as so many other survivors had been.
Separation had never been something Delia was good at, if only because it was all she had known since she awoke to her second life. At least until she had fatefully been reunited with the one person who had always seen her as more than a monster; even when she had rightfully become one. And yet, the events of the Cataclysm had seen Delia and Rience separated once again. He on his journey for power, and she on her own personal journey to lay rest to a past she could never seem to reclaim. And so when word was given, a summons for the Thorn to meet upon Apatros, Delia had eagerly heeded the call.
And yet upon her arrival she did not vie for Rience's attention. Delia had not been the first to arrive, and therefore would not overrun those who had reached this space before her. She did know that he would know she was there long before she was visibly seen, but that was neither here nor there. This was business after all, even if it were under the guise of a reunion...For some, it was certainly more than just a meeting of comrades to see who was alive and well - or as well as could be expected, all things considered.
With such a reunion in mind, Delia remained out of the way, but never out of sight. The faintest of smirks lined her lips as she listened to the new blood introduce himself. "Only a few days ago?" her voice was smooth as silk, and somewhat warm for the moment. "My Axile, aren't you in for a treat?" she mused, gentle in her teasing as well as the use of his name, lest she offend or scare the poor new soul away.

The Knights Obsidian. Natsu had heard rumors about the destroyed order, and how it came to end. The destruction of the order saddened Natsu. He felt it had potential to be a group Natsu could be actually be accepted. The Jedi were arrogant, self righteous fools, and the Sith, well are the Sith. It was intriguing, however, when Natsu accidently intercepted a message obviously intended for some former member. It wasn't his intention to intercept the message, no he was supposed to pursuing a contract. But, a meeting? Natsu was interested.

The planet that was before Natsu was a strange one. It felt wrong to even be near it. Natsu didn't have much interest in Darth Bane, so naturally he had no clue that he was travelling to the ancient Sith's homeworld. Mustering courage, the starfighter began the descent down to the planet, towards the coordinates that were provided in the message. Fighting the uneasy feeling that flooded Natsu's mind, he touched the fighter down near the mining camp. Exiting his starfighter and entering what seemed to be a cantina, he saw 3 figures already occupying it. And a dark presence. Furrowing his eyebrows, Natsu found a corner to stand in, observing what would happen next.

Kurenai was no stranger to disaster, plenty of time groups she had been apart of had fallen on hard times for varying reasons. Though the Knights had been the first were a massive other wordily entity was the root cause and had affected her quite directly. Over the last few months she had assisted in helping to rebuild the knights and deal with other problems facing the CIS, but today would be the first meeting of the Thorns Chapter and it's main members.

The planet in question for the meeting was, peculiar to say to least, but she didn't exactly have much time to put thought into it. Her arrival was somewhat late considering her station but even with Hyper Space traveling could still take time. Her gaze washing over the few already here most unfamiliar to her, though considering what the Knights had become it was to be expected.

Weather they were newcomers of simply members whom the Marshal had not yet met all that mattered was they were present for todays meeting. Kurenai moving to greet Rience upon fully entering. "Vicelord, pleasure to meet you again".

Another day, another meeting. Valeria was starting to think that the Knights Obsidian had become politicians in her absence but then again, she was not unfamiliar with these little field trips. She had taken part in them as an Acanthus member and would now partake in this one on Apatros, led by Rience. She was aware of who Rience was but no more than just knowledge of his existence.

Valeria stepped out of her ship, her heeled boots contacting the rocky ground of the desolate planet as she walked towards the meeting location, a bar. As she walked she thought about what this would be about, likely training some Thorn members based on location considering the academy was here but perhaps it was something else considering that this was a mining camp in the middle of nowhere.

Soon the bar came into view and Valeria saw the former Lord Commander sitting at it with a few others who had made it here before her, aside from Rience she did not recognize any of the other chapter members though she was new to the Thorn chapter so it didn’t come as a surprise. She had only recently become an Obsidian Lord but her power was proven and her track record as a Sith Lord showed it.

As Valeria walked up she lit up a cigarette, the light from the lighter causing her icy skin to gleam slightly more then it already did, prior to introducing herself: “Valeria de la Vallée, Lady of Vanity. A pleasure to make your acquaintances”.

Apatros.

In all his years until recent, Lucianus had never set foot on this world, but to take in the academy he was supposedly linked to, on account of his teachings and manner of being, in relating to the material plane around him. To say, when he darkened the door of the ill-maintained tavern, it was the first time, yet far from the first in similar locales - a certain cantina on Munto Codru had been one such place, but that was centuries ago - and he arrived in simpler garb than what he might be seen in, day-to-day on Obulette, and more what he might wear in administering, training, the ranks of the Mecrosa. Something meant for getting filthy, very much so, not too unlike his days as an acolyte in a long-ago order, in a far away place...

Pale blues moved slow over the modest number gathered here, for this, his expression betraying nothing, though his thoughts considered much: faces, names, and the unfortunate fact of their diminished number; it was hard to gauge whether this was it, or if more were yet to arrive, as he had not been linked to the Obsidian Order or stood as Viceroy until after the Cataclysm had occurred. Until then, he hadn't seen it as necessary to get involved, but reaching out to the Vicelord, reactionary as it was for him to do so, made him no less welcomed, his association with Isley Verd predating much of what now stood as the Confederacy. However, the event had caused losses for the Mecrosa Order as well, as some of their number had joined the ranks of the Knights Obsidian, and suffered the same fate as many others.

All in all, he wasn't so stuffed and chained to the trappings of status, to disdain the setting for this meeting, nor unwilling to attend, as his prerogative was the same as it always had been... that is, the well-being and flourishing of those under his eye was his true territory, and woe befall those acting against that which was his; if he was anything, any singular thing at all, Lucianus Adair was territorial.

Leaving the doorway, he moved toward the small group and straddled a seat at the bar, indicating that he would have what Rience Rience was having, knowing full well what it was by colour and by scent, with a keen nose and a touch of focus, "Thank you," came short words, when a glass of the amber liquid was passed into his possession, whereupon he held the glass level with his gaze, peering through the translucent liquor, before sampling it more directly and finding it pleasing as always. Only then did he elect to speak of himself at all, turning partly in his seat to face them:

"Lord Lucianus Adair, of Obulette," came the first of it, the glass settling on the counter, "of House Mecetti; Lord and Master of the Mecrosa Order."
