  • Structure Name: Coruscant Power Conduit Station (CPCS) Designation: 3476
  • Classification: Underground Electrical Station
  • Location: Level 5000, Coruscant
  • Affiliation: Coruscant Energy (Publicly), Carnifex (Secretly)
  • Accessibility: The majority of the station was open to the officials of the Galactic Alliance and Coruscant Energy, as the station did actually perform as a power conduit for Coruscant's massive electrical grid. The inner workings were often open only to qualified engineers, as the dangerous nature of the power grid itself necessitated experienced and trained personnel to navigate.
  • Description: Build long before the reemergence of galactic powers following the Four-Hundred Year Darkness, Coruscant Power Conduit Station 3476 was just one of the hundreds of similarly designed stations spread across level 5000 on Coruscant. Its general design was that of two truncated pyramids connecting the station to both the floor and ceiling of level 5000, bridged in the middle by a squat square structure that served as the central administrative hub for the station's systems. The majority of electrical components, generators, power converters, and other technology was confined to both pyramids.

The interior design of the station was fairly utilitarian, lacking artistic refinement in exchange for practicality. While the administrative sections were kept fairly clean, the portions of the station most often tread by mechanics and technicians were not spared the same level and quality of cleanliness but were still kept free of debilitating or hazardous debris. Besides the staff team of administrators and technicians, the station was primarily inhabited by a workforce of droids which performed tasks ranging from cleaning to mechanical maintenance to intensive labor.

What most were unaware of was that the floorplan to the station was incomplete, or at the very least was lacking certain details. Large sections of nothingness were present in the design, chalked up to an abundance of internal components collected in a single space. In actuality, a network of secret tunnels and holding chambers were present all throughout the station and further beyond into the actual foundation of level 5000. Built by the One Sith during their tyranny over Coruscant, this network was once used for the facilitation of high-level Sith operatives and their masters through the various sub-levels of Coruscant's megastructure.

Now, this portion of the network was under the control of Darth Carnifex, the self-proclaimed Sith'ari. The network was initially only accessible through the labyrinthine tunnel network spanning the thousands of levels in Coruscant's mega-city, but Carnifex had commissioned the construction of a hangar bay located on the station itself. This hangar bay could only be accessed via an encrypted code and was shielded from view by an excess structural overhang on the station's outer facade and a retractable blast door.

  • Administrative Center: Controls for the station and its systems were concentrated in the administrative center located between the two power pyramids. It was here that the majority of the station's workers performed their various functions, and was the most accessible portion of the whole station. It connected to the maintenance tunnels of both pyramids through maintenance lifts.
  • Power Pyramids: Located on either side of the administrative center, the power pyramids contained all of the necessary components to facilitate the electrical power required to keep Coruscant's grid running. The inside of these pyramids were mazes of wires, cables, and generators of all shapes and sizes. Access to these corridors was restricted except for Coruscant Energy licensed technicians and mechanics, primarily for safety reasons.
  • Hidden Sith Network: Buried within the tangle of access tunnels and power silos was a hidden network built by the One Sith during their reign on Coruscant. The primary design of this network was to facilitate unseen travel, but the Sith Lord Darth Carnifex had transformed portions of the network into listening posts, energy taps, and other nefarious means by which to spread his influence on the capital of his greatest enemy; the Jedi.

  • Low: The station itself maintained no defensive force, as it was a non-military location primarily operated by civilian workers in service to the Galactic Alliance and Coruscant Energy. The hidden Sith network, however, was protected by several squads of inert GP - Series Akguza Guard droids that would activate whenever the network's biometric scanners picked up unverified life forms.

Originally, Coruscant Power Conduit Station number three-thousand-four-hundred-and-seventy-six was like any other of the hundreds of stations spread across Coruscant level 5000, a crucial component to the integrity of the planet's power grid. Though the station still performs that exact function to this very day, its design had been coopted by dark powers over twenty years ago.
In the year eight-thirty-eight of the Galactic Standard Calendar, the adherents of the One Sith struck the Galactic Republic from hidden bases scattered throughout the Deep Core. Their prize was Coruscant, the crowning jewel of democracy and freedom in a galaxy still reeling from the horrors of the Four-Hundred Year Darkness. Brazen and risky as the attack was, the Sith managed to drive the Republic and the Jedi away from Coruscant.
There, the One Sith established a new Empire with Coruscant as its seat.
Now in control of the most densely populated planet in the entire galaxy, the Sith set about to reshape the planet in their own image. They built over the Jedi Temple, erected a recreation of the Valley of the Dark Lords, and transformed the skyline with new and diabolical structures. But their influence sank much deeper than just the surface levels, for the One Sith constructed widespread and elaborate networks of tunnels and secret chambers throughout the mega-city. One of these networks passed through CPCS-3476, woven so intricately into the existing structure that it was virtually indistinguishable.
Eventually, the Sith were driven away from Coruscant, and the Jedi again returned. But the infrastructure that the Sith had built still remained, baked into the foundations of the Coruscant mega-city. Some of these networks were discovered by the Jedi and either sealed away or destroyed completely, but so many more escaped their notice for years.
In the year of the ascension of another Sith Empire in the Galactic Rim, the Sith Lord known as Darth Carnifex secretly returned to Coruscant. He had once served in the One Sith under the name Darth Vornskr and was more intimately familiar with the city-world's layout than perhaps anyone else living. He reopened the network intertwined with CPCS-3476 and brought it back into operation.
He installed new technology, tapping directly into Coruscant's power-grid to further his own diabolical ends. He left the network under the watchful eye of guard droids, who retain their silent vigil to this very day.
