Of course, being controlled by the Coratanni Cartel, the Facility is also garrisoned by a group of Coratanni Synthetic Enforcers, and is sometimes staffed by one or more of the Thawne Children.
- Description:
In general appearance the Facility resembles many other Industrial buildings throughout the galaxy. There are various Hangar bays, warehouses, exhaust pylons, and of course main housing constructs. This is of course all ordinary, and in effect the facility is reminiscent of a multitude of other outposts that can be located throughout the entire galaxy. Most would simply assume that the structure is a mining facility or something of the sort.
However, despite it's rather unassuming appearance, the Coratanni Biological Research Facility is in fact closer to a Cloning center than anything.
The entire structure was created to further the Coratanni Cartel's work in Human Replica Droids and cloning, both of which the Cartel's legal front SIN has been working on for it's theme park Half-Life.
The Coratanni Biological Research Facility is a laboratory and production center, utilizing various cloning and robotic technologies in order to further advance the synthetic beings that the Coratanni Cartel is able to create. Of course, due to this, the Facility is highly secretive, and those working within are often kept on a tight leash by the Coratanni Cartel.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Hangar: The Hangar bay is located at the very center of the facility, and is generally well guarded by the Coratanni Synthetic Enforcers who make their home here. Only large enough for a few fighters or two medium sized transports, the Hangar Bay is carefully watched and guarded.
As comes standard in places like this, the Hangar bay Contains a large Ray Shield generator as well as a blast door. Generally both of these countermeasures are always active, meaning that in order to enter, or escape, one would have to deactivate both the Ray shield and open the blast door.
Laboratory: The most secretive part of the entire facility, the laboratory is where the actual research of the facility is done.
Located at the outer reaches of the Facility itself, the laboratory stretches for quite a distance and is filled to the brim with scientists and researchers. Men and women within the lab are watched carefully by members of the Cartel, and their research is encouraged in creative ways. The Laboratory is one of the most secure parts of the facility, and is often guarded by the Synthetic enforcers even more than the Hangar bay.
Production Floor: The production floor of the Coratanni Biological Research Facility resembles nothing less than the inner halls of Tipoca's Cloning Facility. Within the vast expanse of the production floor ones finds hundreds upon hundreds of pod like constructs.
Within these pods are men and women, biological creations that float eerily within suspensive liquid.
Oddly enough the Production Floor is not as well guarded as other parts of the Facility, though regular patrols are made throughout. Of course there are also various alarms in place upon the pod, should their contents be disturbed.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Coratanni Bioligical Research Facility does not have a long life.
With the production and creation of Half-Life, Natalia and Slevin Thawne knew that their method of creating and producing Human Replica Droids was both inefficient, and rather expensive. Though the 'life' they created was effective in what they required, they knew that the method was inevitably not sustainable.
Knowing this, and recently enriched from the profits of both their Cartel and legitimate business the Thawne's began to look into alternative styles of creation.
What came about was the Coratanni Biological Research Facility.
Constructed outside the reach of the various Galactic Governments, the Biological Research Facility would use whatever method it could in order to research and further develop the creation of a more effective solution to the problems facing the Cartel.
