Private Conference on Alderaan

As Faith and Inanna shot ideas back and forth, Alicio tried to wrap his brain around the logistics. An uninhabited jungle area that had to be discreet and away from prying eyes. His eyes narrowed as he stared deeply into the middle distance.

A deep stare that was interrupted when Faith brought attention to him. He blinked once, unprepared to be called upon by his cousin. He smiled sheepishly, scrambling to organize the stray thoughts in his head into coherency. Thankfully, Inanna bought him some time with her own thoughts, and a slip of the tongue.

The Count was caught off-guard by the Shi'ido's reaction. It was the first time Alicio had seen her become embarrassed. It was a bit endearing, if he were being honest with himself. "It's fine, Inanna," he said, his tone warming. "I don't mind."

His thoughts turned back to their questions. He turned his erudite eyes to Faith first, speaking slowly. "Well, first of all, it's unlikely we'll be able to keep the migration of the Shi'ido under wraps. With the amount of people we're transporting, it wouldn't be long before someone said something. It might be in our best interests to be honest with our efforts. Especially if we wished to fundraise."

"That being said, having the refugees in their own settlement would comfort some of the naysayers. And a self-built city would likely cut down labor costs considerably."
Alicio found his stride as his expertise in refugee cities became useful. "The nobility won't accept any non-enforceable promises, but work contracts might be enough to sway them."

He then addressed Inanna, smiling. "Alderaan has plenty of allies in the Senate and beyond." He turned to Faith again. "Maybe we could reach out to our friend in the Ashlan Crusade. She has shown interest in helping refugees." The Queen likely knew who Alicio meant, though he didn't want to invoke her name quite yet.

"I think the most important thing for us to do is find a stable income for the refugees. Inanna, are there any goods that the Shi'ido can make especially well? You know, apart from..." He waved his hand over his face.

Faith wouldn't think anything of the lack of titles, or a friend calling another by name. That just wasn't her. So Ms. Yomin calling Alicio by name slipped right by her.

Faith however did nod her thoughts her own for the moment. Alicio had said to be honest in this endeavor to help the shi'ido but in her mind it drew a problem if the Sith really wanted the Shi'ido and found out they were indeed on Alderaan, Alderaan, and all of its inhabitants would be in danger. With a small military it was not possible for Alderaan to defend itself, and without Alliance support Alderaan could not stand against an attack. Would the alliance come under Tithe?

It was possible even now that there were spies on Alderaan.

Faith was uncomfortable. She couldn't help but clasp her hands together rubbing her thumb as she thought. "But we could if we are trying to hide them, and keep the sith from finding them. Maybe we mislead the sith and their allies. Ms. Inanna Harth Inanna Harth has proven they can look like everyone else so...they could come in here as someone else, and then once to their new settlement transition."

Faith was staring at the floor as she talked her mind trying to work the problem. "My concern isn't the people of Alderaan, we can be honest with the council but outwardly wouldn't be more beneficial to hide them." She understood what Alicio wanted to do, "I think our friend in the Ashlan would understand, and besides fundraising efforts are for everyone displaced, harmed or in need from the worlds that have been attacked. Maybe we don't have to say it's specific to the Shi'ido."

Keeping with the converstion though she looked to Ms. Yomin, "A good question to ask Alicio Organa Alicio Organa " Faith looked at Ms. Yomin

The Count did, in fact, possess a sense of humor. Assured that no offense was taken, Inanna finally relaxed and let her hands drop into her lap. The sound of her name coming from Alicio echoed in her mind like bells in the night. It’s just the accent, she told herself. He probably thinks his name sounds exotic coming from me, too.

Faith suggested the Shi’ido use their abilities to hide. It wasn’t a bad idea. “We are masters of mimicry,” Inanna agreed. “But if the deception were discovered, wouldn’t it only make tensions worse?

It was a risk, certainly. But judging by Faith’s fear that the presence of the Shi’ido would draw the Sith to Alderaan, perhaps it was a risk she was willing to take. "I'm sorry, two million Shi'ido refugees? You must be mistaken, Alderaan just took in two million Tetan refugees." Given what had recently happened to Empress Teta, there were probably quite a few Tetans seeking sanctuary on planets like Alderaan anyway.

Inanna really shouldn’t have been all that surprised at the mention of the Ashlan Crusaders—for all the issues everyone seemed to have with their methods and ideology, they were still technically the “good guys”. Why shouldn’t they be involved in relief efforts? “Well, if this friend of yours is willing, I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.

Alicio’s question drew a smirk and a wink from Inanna. “Rest assured, we have all manner of workers and specialists among our ranks. Our civilization has always been self-sufficient. We had to be, given how far from ‘civilized’ space Lao-mon is.” She leaned back in her seat, almost reclining. “If you’re speaking in terms of our abilities, sure, we can make ourselves smaller or larger to get to hard-to-reach places. We can grow extra limbs, or sprout wings and fly… We are inspiration given form. Just tell us what you want, and we can make it happen.

Alicio frowned at the thought of moving so many people from Erakhis to Alderaan in secret. He understood that it was the best, safest thing to do. But in all likelihood, someone would say something, someone would make a mistake. But Faith and Inanna both thought it was possible.

Ergo, it was possible.

Alicio took a sip of tea to hide his doubts, and continued on with the conversation.

"The fundraiser could easily be marketed as general," Alicio said, nodding at Faith. "If the Shi'ido are mostly autonomous, that also means not much would need to be raised. It wouldn't even be a lie, if we use the rest for our other projects." It wasn't that Alicio was against lying. He just found solace in telling the truth.

As Inanna responded to his question, Alicio visibly relaxed as well, unintentionally mirroring her posture, before hearing his father's stern voice in his head, and standing tall once more. "Honestly, finding jobs for people is half the battle. If we aren't concerned about that, it would be a huge relief."

"We can work out logistics later. Faith, is there anything else we're missing?"

Then it hit her like a shot but what would Alicio Organa Alicio Organa and Inanna Harth Inanna Harth think of it , "First let me say you and your people are welcome to be here. I just remembered something." She half laughed perhaps her age catching up and affecting her memory, "There is another solution within Jedi Space that I often forget is there. There is a system near Colla IV, it's a bit from here, and it is near a hypergate. The Organa Family has a history there it is called Aldera it is a system set up by my mother and Aunt designed for refugees. A sister planet Alpha Mae designed to help refugees who wanted to be further away or needed a legal system to help them. Aldera has jungle 20% of planet if I remember what my mother said. You wouldn't have to hide there, and you would still be under the protection of House Organa"

She smiled at Alicio, "Other than the revelation I just had about Aldera I think everything is covered. We can fundraise just for the sake of fundraising. I don't think so. Other than the Shi'ido now have a choice Alderaan or Aldera."

Even the phridium was similiar how that had happened she never figured out. Then there were the jewels made by the artisans of Aldera and art how she loved theartwork.

The negotiations were starting to smooth out, the focus shifting to fundraising, which Inanna took as a sign that the meeting was wrapping up. She sighed in relief and sank even further down in her seat.

Only to shoot back up again when Faith decided to drop a bomb on her.

Are you saying you have another planet?” Inanna blurted. “You have two planets?

The more Faith spoke of Aldera, the more ideal it started to sound. Inanna shot a questioning look Alicio’s way. Did he know about this? If so, why hadn’t he mentioned it before?

... Well, that was unexpected. This Aldera—it has other inhabitants already there, correct? We would have to reach out to them. Even though we are refugees, the problem will remain of convincing them to let us in despite the risks.

But it would likely be a much easier process, given that the planet’s purpose was to serve as a sanctuary for refugees. Still. Inanna hesitated before asking, “It isn’t too good to be true, is it?

Alicio had managed to fall into a false sense of security. The meeting had stabilized, Faith had offered her full support, all that was left was figuring out the details of...

Oh. Oh.

Alicio's widened eyes at the idea of an entire planet dedicated to helping refugees told Inanna all she needed to know. He'd heard of Aldera, of course, but he had no idea of it's significance, which was entirely shameful, considering his occupation and place of residence.

Alicio managed a nod to Inanna. "It seems like the perfect location." Which only twisted the knife deeper.

Alicio furrowed his brow, and screwed his mouth shut. He tried to think about how there existed the ideal home for a displaced people, and not about how inept he had been at finding it for them.

"Well it doesn't belong to us but our history with it have given us ties to it. My mother and father lived there for a time, Draco and I will retire there. It's another place to help those who need it. But now"

Faith took a deep breath she did that when she talked too much, "You won't find it on chart anywhere I don't know why or how. I don't ask. Aldera is a bit of a secret while Alpha Mae is the one to stand out. Courts, Hospitals and such things." Faith looked over to Alicio for his reaction what she saw she wasn't sure of.

"Alicio I always forget it is there I don't think even the Jedi know it is there. It is a place that Tia Rianna oversees and there is a regent in place on Aldera. I should have told you more about when you were dealing with Sanctuary City, I just...forgot. I'm sorry it would be an excellent piece of information for you in dealing with unique cases who require special care, like your friend Ms. Inanna Harth Inanna Harth and her people."

She looked back at Ms. Yomin, "no it isn't too good to be true. Tia has always wanted to help others it was the only way she could think to do it. Think of it Alpha Mae a neutral world everyone welcome all they have to do is show up. Sit by the ocean and listen to the waves. But Aldera hidden away waiting silently for someone to need them. There are others there all escaping something dark and evil. If you want to go, I will tell Tia Rianna. Then I'll ask her to give Alicio the coordinates and he can guide you there." This way he too would know the way.

Tia would be happy that she had finally remembered that Aldera was a sanctuary too. Alderaan was not the only place in the galaxy.

"From your tone Ms. Yomin, I'm thinking you want to go to Aldera. Is this right?"

As the shock began to wear off, Inanna managed to find the humor in this situation. All these deliberations on her part—to say nothing of the difficulties Alicio must have experienced in his line of work—only for Faith to suddenly remember she had a secret refugee sanctuary stashed away all this time. Inanna facepalmed, though the gesture was as much to hide her laughter as it was an expression of dismay at the queen’s lapse of memory.

"From your tone Ms. Yomin, I'm thinking you want to go to Aldera. Is this right?"

Well, I would certainly like to know more about it, and I suppose a visit wouldn’t hurt…” she replied, raising her head again. “Based on what you’ve told me about it so far, it does seem like it would be a better fit. There would certainly be less obstacles for us to overcome, at least.

She’d reserve any final judgments until she had seen Aldera for herself. A little healthy caution never hurt anyone.

Presumably for security reasons, Faith made it clear she would only give the coordinates to Alicio. Turning toward him, Inanna smiled innocently. “Do we have a date, then?

Learning about Aldera's secretive nature did assuage the Count's shattered ego, if only a little. Of course, he blamed himself for the lack of knowledge, and all the toes he had so callously stepped on in his ignorance. Which is why he was caught off-guard by the Queen's apology to him.

"It's fine, Faith. Really," he responded, even as he couldn't shake his frown. "I never asked, and it doesn't entirely pertain to Sanctuary. There wasn't a need to tell me."

Although, he could concede that knowledge of a hidden refugee world would have been useful. Well, nothing more could be done about the past. At least he knew about Aldera for future reference.

Alicio started a bit when he heard the word 'date'. Just the slightest twitch of his brow, his grey eyes darting between Inanna and Faith, before realizing the context, and bringing his cup to his face for one last sip. "Oh, ah... yes." He cleared his throat, his previous dour mood cracking into a faint smile. "I'd be happy to escort you."

"Thank you Alicio. Then at the moment there is a plan." In truth there were so many things about Alderaan that no one really. Someone new to the family would need time to learn it all. But where did it feel like Alicio was hurt by it? She didn't know and she wondered if somehow this would become something else in the future.

She looked from Inanna Harth Inanna Harth to Alicio Organa Alicio Organa , "I'll message Tia Rianna
