Description:
The Southern Systems, the Outer Rim Territories... it's all the same, regardless of the name it's given. This region of space is a dangerous, lawless expanse where criminal syndicates, warlords, pirates, and fledgling governments vie for control, often at the expense of their followers. Many have tried, few have succeeded, and none remain today. That is a cycle the Confederacy of Independent Systems aims to break.
The CIS is a confederation of autonomous worlds that have banded together with the backing of corporate benefactors to rise from the rubble and restore peace, order, and stability to the Outer Rim Territories. Through a winning combination of droid armies, organic soldiers, corporate sponsors, and planetary governments, the CIS offers a new way of life to those who are too weak or isolated to eke one out on their own.

The Pitch:
The CIS offers a unique realm of roleplay that entices writers and facilitates complex plot lines by standing firmly as the not-quite-evil, not-quite-good galactic superpower. Where some governments might find the Confederacy's methods to be extreme, the CIS sees only the pragmatic solution. CIS boasts a dynamic Corporate Council loaded with prominent characters on the board, giving the faction a unique corporatocratic angle that Chaos hasn't seen in several years.
