Public Come And See

At first Valerian had thought he had won by using the distraction of blaster fire. He had trapped the mad Cathar Jedi in some wreckage, and now all he had to do was wait for his saber to recover from the effects of the cortosis. He had hoped to beat the Jedi entirely, and was surprised when he was stunned by the amount of power he felt when the door open and saw the looks of his friend, and the strange force wielder next to him. He couldn’t quite place his finger on if she was a Jedi, or an Imperial but his guess had to be the latter when he watched her focus on the Cathar.

Valerian would quickly find himself covering his ears from the Force Scream as he backed away into a dark corner. It was clear the inquisitor was outmatched when it came to the Cathar, and so he could only slink away into the cover of darkness to get away from the struggling Cathar. He would activate his saber, this time only for the crimson blade to ignite once more and now bathed in crimson light he stood on guard. His eyes resting on Jegy, the strange woman and the Jedi Survivor who seemed hellbent on killing him.

When debris would shoot all out, he would turn his zeyd cloth cape around him to shield him from the blast. His eyes narrowed on the vengeful Jedi, as he spoke with grave urgency. “She cannot be allowed to live. She is marked as a traitor to the Empire and my orders were to eliminate this one as with all survivors… Kill her now!” He shouted hoping that anyone with the right sense would listen, and strike her down before it was too late.

He had given a small smirk, he had trapped her somehow...no wait, the lady trapped her! With a rather skillful hold in the Force. Something he had to make note of later, though it felt like nothing was going to be won that easily. Then it hit his ears, the terrible, awful shriek! He had lived among Tuskens and done his own Force Screams, but somehow this was worse than a Chadra-Fan child! Wincing loudly, he cried out in pain. It was completely unbearable! Kneeling down for a moment, he could only hear his ears ringing, not hearing once word Valerian said. He then shoved his left hand out and pushed with as much Force as he could muster.

This Was A Bad Idea.

When the Force Push occurred, sections of paneling ripped up from the floor, ceiling and parts of the wall at very speed. This was in the worst chaotic sense however, like a tidal wave whose only goal was to hit the Jedi that screamed right directly into his ears. It was not powerful individually but it felt like a massive gust of powerful wind struck right in the place itself. Wiring came loose and lighting fell down, some portions of the area becoming dark and some rooms opening up more...worse though was near the back, some smashed into parts of the critical equipment...as to what, it is unknown.

At first, she was free.

Then the tidal wave hit. Her claws extended and purchased into the floor below, but the onslaught of Force that hit her had her unable to move. She needed to fight back. She did the only thing she could think of, throwing her arms back and letting the flame within her roar to life, rocketing her against Jegy Sesara Jegy Sesara 's wave, as she cut through anything that it brought with it towards him. If she was gonna continue this fight, she needed to stop him. She couldn't sustain a three on one, but he seemed like the most important threat out of the three. The Inquisitor was clearly the weakest, and the wannabe was at the moment playing defense. So she resorted to the only form of offense she had at the moment.

Tella’s presence flickered for a moment in the Force, her normally light/gray alignment turning to one of darkness as the anger flowed through her. The Jedi would simply not quit, not retreat, against the odds and in a totally unjustifiable position. She had tried to restrain herself and not cause real harm to the woman, only to be rewarded by the Jedi attempting to harm her and kill Sesara and the other man. Fine, if the Jedi really was hellbent on harming them, she would have to be to.

Reaching out one hand, her aura turning black as she did so, a surge of power flowed forth from her seeking to telekinetically seize the Jedi mid-jump, halting her momentum and attempting to crush her right leg, snapping and shattering the bones within to restrict her ability to move, and for the first time to genuinely cause her pain and suffering for the first the time in the fight. If she would not listen to reason, maybe she would listen to agony instead.

There was a drastic moment of surprise, his eyes opening up wide as the woman in front...cut through everything. The right hand of his still gripped his old lightsaber as he still had not in this entire fight, ignited it once. The Sullustan never cared to be much on the offensive...most of the damage anyone gets in a large fight like this, was generally himself. Every hit, every horrible notion that happens...almost always him. When she jumped forward with the spear, trying to hit him in a grapple in the mid-section, his mind only went towards one thing.

FIGHT CLUB

Back in Savereen on Rori and a few space stations, he participated in what was considered some part mixed martial arts and other parts just pure wrestling. He participated solely on request of other Inquisitors to strengthen his unarmed combat, something he got good at in the forms of grappling when his weak bones could not handle it at the time. The Sullustan got a nickname for his time in the club, known at a few space stations back in the day as "Doctor Death", a title he wore proudly...even if others groaned at it.

When the spear was incoming, he only reacted versus thinking about the action. His left arm opened up and when the Sullustan went down, he went down hard. He was in mid-air for a few moments, feeling the air whip on by as he was now vertical...but his left arm quickly cinched up around the neck of the Cathar. When they went down, he got hurt to where he was pinned...but not till he countered in what would be considered a D.D.T. Slamming her head down into the floor, he either connected well or did not. But regardless, they were both down...

But his right hand never did anything except get in front of his body when the spear went all the way through. When they landed, he tried to keep her trapped with the lightsabers red igniter side poking right at her chest...stomach...wherever it be in front of her body. Holding her as he knew he was risking his own death, he spoke out with a very harsh yet gritted voice with the smell of burnt flesh radiating from the Sullustan...with a hint of his voice exhausted yet still threatening to hear parts of a Tusken Dialect...almost leak out from it.

"I could have ended it right here. The fight is over. Go Home."

Valerian could do nothing but watch. It was clear his methods were somewhat obsolete in this new era, and the Jedi he was facing seemed to have no fear of the Inquisitorius. This was most troubling to the Ninth Brother as he was now only a spectator compared to the strange woman, and soon followed but his worse for wear looking Sullustan. He was helpless for the first time all of that training at the hands of the Empire’s ruthless enforcer had been all for nought. His tactics were dated, and what attacks he did know would prove useless.

He gripped his saber tightly in his hands, hesitant to strike at the Jedi for in fear of it short circuiting from the Cortosis. He didn’t know how such a material had become easily accessible while it had taken him years to fashion his inquisitor armor. He watched as he felt a surge of dark energy within the woman, and when his eyes went on the Sullustan everything seemed to stand still. In a flash he watched as the Cathar attempted to spear the Sullustan.

He narrowed his eyes watching as the Inquisitor would pull out his hilt. The hilt was similar to standard Inquisitor design, yet no one hilt was the same. Valerian had tried to learn from the flaws but ultimately his saber had not been prepared for the times of today. The Sullustan attempted to restrain the Cathar and even Valerian noticed something was off. His new found friend seems reserved at least most of the time, and for once he heard a voice unlike any other before the Sullustan attempted to plead with the Cathar to go home.

Valerian was outraged as he finally stepped out of his corner to speak. “Go home?? Are you out of your mind? Even after what she is trying to do? Why not simply take her in? What harm could this Alliance do?” He wondered as he seemed slightly outraged by simply letting the Jedi go. He would rather take the Cathar in for questioning if not outright eliminate her.

Tella had little time to react to the success of her Force Crush against Jonya, as even though her leg was literally crushed and broken on the inside, she still moved forward. Horrified at what she saw was happening in slow motion, she tried to save Sesara by flinging a precisely aimed bolt of Force Lightning at the Cathar Jedi as she moved to slice off his arm. The Jedi would have to choose between continuing her deranged attack against the Inquisitors or being struck by the full power of the Dark Side, and Tella feared she already knew which one the crazed Jedi would choose in her crusade.

Be rational! Defend against the lightning going to hit you! Don’t follow through and slice off his arm you fool!

"We must be the ones to set the example! We ar-"

The loud crackling of lightning filled his vision yet at the same time, he could hear the loud whine of a lightsaber ignite and the searing flesh of his being cut off...the smell of burnt flesh was now overwhelming as in slow motion...he felt all the pain. A pain he had not felt...in over eight hundred years, not since a light whip removed his left shoulder. For the brief moment, he made no noise but instead, was in complete shock.

All the ideals he had come to have learned...whether it been from the old Ithorian Master so long ago that taught him how to let go of his anger, let him meditate and finally control his emotions. To allow himself to forgive what he had to do in the name of the Galactic Empire.

What he learned from Cedric Grayson, who never once believed since they met, it was not to late for Bogan to hold his heart. To allow Ashla and the light to finally redeem his own darkness without sacrificing his ideals.

The care he been tended to from Pom, a nightsister that let him finally confront his guilt and allowed him the chance to finally live his life in pure peace...with the love of his life once more.

All of these kind gestures, showed that the Jedi way was not flawed. It brought hope that the galaxy would never be corrupted again. But life has changed...he could feel the pain now intensify, his green eyes giving a bright glow as he screeched out in pain. The noise could not be muffled, it echoed in the chamber in a near deafening boom. The electricity crackled along the body, feeling it course through as he barely had enough strength to let go of the Jedi in his left arm.

Rolling to the side in anguish, he barely could do much more as the Force faded rapidly. He had now overdone his body...the pain, the stress had finally overwhelmed him. The vision of his started to fade as he went with a loud SMACK into the wall, his head looking out towards the battle. He no longer had any strength left...he needed energy, he needed pain blockers. The force almost ate him alive...it was a miracle he was even awake still.

Valerian had narrowed his eyes watching closely as the Cathar was pinned, but it was evident that the Jedi was hardly going to stop the onslaught against him, or his newfound friend. He was unsure as to why he wasn’t listened to in the slightest as the Sullustan would think mercy would be a strength. Vader had taught him the opposite, even when the last thing he saw with his real eyes was the stinging flash of a crimson blade, he remembered crying out for mercy in excruciating pain, and at the same time was told there would be none. From then on mercy was viewed as a weakness that shouldn’t be given under any idle means.

Before he could protest further he witnessed as his friend tried to plead with him, and as he was making his convictions known a lightsaber went right through his arm. In that second another wave of anger washes over him. “I.. told you! We can’t have half measures!” He yelled out as he raised an open palm upward, with a burst of the dark side the enraged inquisitor would for a brief moment sent the Cathar slamming into the ceiling, before he lost control and sent her back down. “Is this what I’ve woken up to? The Empire infected by mercy of all things?”

Jonyna acted fast. Before Jegy could fully roll off of her, he grabbed Jegy and used him as a shield her from the lightning, just long enough for her to sheath Sally and draw Liz, pushing Jegy off her and allow Liz to do it's thing, absorbing the lightning into it's crystal. She'd trained for years fighting multiple opponents, and now one was down. Stormtroopers were easy, deflect blasters and close in. Now she was down a leg and-

Ow. Oh Sylvar, ow.

She slammed into the ceiling, her blade still sparking with electricity, before she came back down. Lucky for her, she had her pyromancy, allowing her to adjust just enough to land on her feet.

Immediate mistake. She had forgotten her leg was broken. She nearly fell over, but now was the time to trial her newest ability. Her mind focused on the leg as it was about to buckle, the force flowing through her to reduce the damage enough for her to walk. Downside, now she was unable to use her force abilities otherwise.

“Is this what I’ve woken up to? The Empire infected by mercy of all things?”
As soon as she steadied herself, she spoke. "And that...is why I need to end this. You damn Imps don't see reason. You don't see kindness or freedom. You only see what's best for you, not what's best for everyone. The Empire was founded on the ideals of evil."

“-We- don’t see reason?” Tella snarled, incredulous at the Jedi Knight and her hypocrisy. They had not attacked first, the Jedi had throwing away any sense of reason while doing so. She lashed out at the Jedi Knight, seeking to throw her away and back into her ship so that she could attend to Sesara, whom she was horrified at accidentally harming, and hopefully hurt her while doing so. It was not her best work by far as she followed it immediately after the somewhat tiring burst of Force Lightning, but compared to the average Jedi, it was still at least decent and should buy her more time-and more importantly, distance, from the Jedi.

I'm so sorry Sesara! I thought she could not react in time! I will not make that mistake again!

Well, this sucks.

Being struck by Force Lightning is not something new to him, it still hurts yes but this was now beyond annoying. It was now painful. He twitched for a moment upwards and was then Force Pushed into the nearby wall, crumbling like paper. Falling to the ground, there was a small wheeze and then a loud groan, then a sharp whine erupting from the Sullustan. How in the hell did he get to this situation?! He been shoved down twenty stories, pushed his body beyond his limits again, burnt through that, got speared wrestling style onto the floor and in an attempt to let someone go, lost his arm, shocked for his efforts by his backup, and now in a crumbled heap like some horrible Crystal Rangers boss fight.

Rather carefully, he rolled onto his back completely and just laid there as he felt his anger pretty much moot. His hearing was shot currently and anything told to him, just ringed in his ears. His own body, already smoking from before, was now a bit more chalked dark brown, crispy from Tella shocking him into next tomorrow. Turning his head carefully, he tried to glance the battle as his eyes were completely blurry from the pain and his strength effectively gone. Taking his free hand, he was very slowly going into his robe, trying to grab the medical kit from before, it colliding into the ground as its contents scattered all over the place. Giving a loud groan, he gripped a gel like ball and rather violently, slammed it into his now cut shoulder as he shook hard from the pain...but the bacta that was in condensed spray form, was applied all over it.

Mitigating all the damage was now his top priority...for the rest of them...he hoped they would be alright for now.

Valerian didn’t expect to bring the Cathar to a sudden end. He hoped to subdue her, as it was clear that in this new era it seemed the inquisitor was dealing with more than what he could bargain for. Still he seemed puzzled, as the dark surge of energy would pulse through his very veins. His eyes narrowing on the Cathar as she would recover from the slam against the ceiling, she used fire to help her smooth the landing and at the same time she seemed weak. Her body was damaged and his eyes could detect that much when reading her body, getting a rundown on her biology and seeing how she was fiery but how much more punishment could her body withstand. Perhaps the Jedi would be better taken in for interrogation.

She spoke with the defiance dripping from her tone. Valerian raised an eyebrow as he watched the mysterious woman try to further punish the Jedi. The second blade of the inquisitor’s lightsaber activated and he resumed a defensive posture, going against what his training was instead of being on the offensive. He tried that and found himself going nowhere with his tactics. This fight he had no idea how would end. Still he found the words of the Jedi simply hypocritical. “Evil is it? Evil is simply a fabrication by the weak. Evil is a construct made by those too ignorant and weak to do what needs to be done for the galaxy. The Empire is order it is strength, evil is only a notion made by anarchists like you.” He said coldly as the emitters of his blade would do a slight spin, careful not to go against the cortosis weave again.

This time, Jonyna was ready, digging her claws in and withstanding the force push. IF this wannabe jedi wanted to strike her down, she would have to do it with her lightsaber.

Jonyan spun around, slashing Liz in Valerian Draak Valerian Draak 's direction, the lightning that had stored within it lashing out as Electric Judgement, the full force of Tella's former attack going towards the Inquisitor while Jonyna kept her rear guarded with Claire, a saber that seemed to have no blade and no sound, yet had already taken off Jegy Sesara Jegy Sesara 's arm.

Tella was not about to engage the Cathar in her preferred environment at close range, instead continuing to back off more, surprised that the Cathar managed to shrug off a pretty decent Force push with just her feet alone and no discernable use of the Force. Clearly, she had quite powerful muscles, even if the Force push she had managed was far from her best as a Consular, it was still more than decent for a Jedi Knight. No matter, she would keep going for a mobility kill. Muttering under her breath, she reached out with the Force yet again, this time using her full concentration and deep connection to the Force as a Consular on an application of Force Crush to focus on snapping both of Jonya’s legs while she attempted to attack Valerian, remaining silent to the Jedi's jeers and jabs. No amount of talk would solve this at this point.

The damage was feeling less...his mind was starting to become less clouded as well. Time seemed to pass more or less without much pause. He felt weak...he felt as if the Galaxy had weighed him down greatly. With an arm loss, his body still seemed to react to the battle around him, feeling the adrenaline pump into him but almost no power, no availing way to stop the chaos that was to soon keep going. Death seemed to be inevitable, someone here was to die, he could feel it. The eyes of his fluttered, he could feel the weight of all that pain starting to effect him drastically as he started to black out, his head dipping to the side.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hold still, you are been shot!"
"It is just another day, let me get up-goahh!"
"Not to someone like me, stand still you stubborn officer!"

"I don't...like being handled, I don't like people touching me!"
"You have to get over that if you are going to keep being this suicidal!"
"I have to fight! My body is just failing me, I have to fight!"
"Stop moving! Look at me! LOOK AT ME!"

"Why...why does it feel weighted?"
"Cause you take all the burden...all the time."
"I am the only one that can."
"Then you need to sit still...and let me take care of you."
"Do I act foolish?"

"Sometimes...do you really need to do this?"
"Yes...it must be done. I must get back to them"
"Close your eyes then..."
"Why?"
"Let me take you to another world."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a loud gasp erupting from the Sullustan as his eyes shot open, a massive shot of adrenaline had gone through his body. What felt like an hour, was merely a minute of unconsciousness as he was rather quick to rise to his feet. There was absolutely no way, the Sullustan should be standing, let alone alive after all the torturous beating he had sustained! Looking at the Cathar in front, seeing her back turned, he ran behind her at full sprint with an incredible amount of endurance coursing through his veins, the body of his smoked even worse than before, his skin turning black as night in certain spots and his eyes now glowing an extremely bright green.

"CATHAR!!!!"

If she turned, she could see a very uncontrolled, very huge source of Force energy, his signature was blinding if she even tried to sense it as he tried to swing a punch. Except the punch did something far worse than expected, the wind erupted in the area before a fast, vivid shake of the entire platform went through the area. The place vibrated so damninly, that near the two of them, it shook a large mental image, as if he tore into something!

Ryan-Watkins-Hell-Vista.jpg

If the Cathar allowed the punch near her, she would see the fast moving set of the Netherworld before her very eyes! There would be a dropping sensation, the place feeling confusing. It would all be over though in a matter of seconds as it started to revert quickly, shoving her through what felt like two more sets of the Netherworld. One felt cold, ice like, as if it was made for those damned for having a decent soul but no heart. Then the next one felt as if the place was of heart, that life itself seemed to have a place in but considered so full of strife and grief.

Then it would finally end, throwing her not gently but with enough force directly into the hanger bay. The punch itself would end and the entire tear would seal itself up as the Sullustan would spin from the punch and slam himself directly into the wall, surprised that he did not even hit the Cathar! More so, he could not figure out where in the world she was or how he actually opened a portal once more when he has been unable to since his reincarnation!

Fear.

A concept Jonyna often avoided purely from her own brain chemistry. The term 'Fight or Flight' didn't really apply to her often, as her first response to most problems was simply 'fight'. To many jedi, that would seem a problem, but in the days of the Empire, it came in handy. She wasn't a traditional jedi. Not by a long shot. The ideals of the old jedi order were almost foreign to her, as the time she came from so thoroughly contradicted the passive, reactionary nature of the jedi of old. Her ideals stood that if evil existed, it was a jedi's duty to snuff it out. To fight back against the darkness with one's whole soul.

But the sight of falling, of a world where the soul was banished to an eternal blaze.

That scared her.

She needed to get out of there. She was in the hangar bay now. That's all she focused on. Suddenly, the rush of pain hit her like a truck. Her leg was still broken, her body trashed from being thrown around and smashed into a wall.

She had put the fear of god into that Inquisitor, and she'd be back. Oh lord, would be she back. That was a promise. A guarantee. Now she just needed to get stronger. Better. Faster. After Caldera, she figured she was ready to take on the world once more. Now she was questioning that.

As she climbed into her ship, she looked to Dice, her personal astromech. "Dice, get us out of here..."

And then she slumped over.

Valerian was about to make a stand against the angry Cathar, although he wasn’t sure if he was able to withstand an attack from her again. He was outmatched in this new era, especially against a Jedi who slew many of his so called brothers and sisters in many encounters. Sweat was slowly coming down his brow. The circular guard around his lightsaber eclipsed his hand in full and the emitters of the blade would spin. The saber would keep spinning as he was forced to go completely on the defensive and in the entire time he flashed back to his training. Vader would taunt him on how pathetic he was as Valerian would focus on the defensive from brute strikes, each strike it felt like his saber would come from his hand, and this situation was no different. All he could do was back away for in fear of the cortosis weave and no training to go against such anti saber material.

She all the while would laugh. Rebels like her truly were a menace to the galaxy, and yet Draak felt fear for this fight was one he couldn’t win. Not with his limited training, and in that moment he stopped frozen with fear. His red eyes turned and he would witness the Sullustan. His new friend Jegy who felt strong in the dark side. Draak has known of the dark side. Valerian stood his ground trying to avoid the Cathar, the woman and now his new friend in a fit of angered rage. It all seemed to happen so fast before the Sullustan would use the darkness against the Cathar to send her flying, all the while she had a broken leg from the mysterious woman.

The energy draining him, the spinning hum of the sabers would stop and deactivate as soon as the Inquisitor let go of his blade. He collapsed to his knees panting for breath. “This is the galaxy of today? What hope for Empire now, what if Palpatine’s vision for order?” He would ask himself as if he was lamenting for an Empire that was dead and gone, and now he was here in a galaxy dangerous and unfamiliar to him.
