Question Cold-swappable droid brain character concept

Hi!

Apologies if this has been asked, answered, and/or already established. I could not find it and I swear I looked around - for a bit.

So my question is regarding character creation rules. Namely, regarding non-canon droid model characters needing to be approved through the factory.
The character concept I'm drafting, from my point of view, does not require approval of any kind. But I figure it would do no harm to ask first.

1) Droid brains are canon.

2) Swapping droid brains is canon - the Millennium Falcon alone has 3, all previously belonging to different droids.

3) From 1 and 2 I assume that indefinitely swapping a droid brain between several droid models could also be considered canon.

-- So here's my concept: A character that is not a 'full' droid, but rather a droid brain that gets swapped between multiple droid frames that are available to it. And, assuming that all those frame models are canon, then I don't need any particular approval to run this character, correct?

Additional information:
  • All possible droid frames available to the character will be detailed on the character bio.
  • The idea is to collect "bodies" through RP and not just add them to the bio, RPing dysphoria alongside character development.
  • Moving the brain to a different body is a cold-swap. Meaning, the droid is shut down during the somewhat lengthy process, which has to be performed by a specialist - droidsmith or equivalent - this is NOT a 'Transformer'-type droid.

Although, if I enjoy RPing the character I'll probably consider submitting a hot-swap mechanism for easily and quickly move the brain between frames, in the future - which, as far as I'm aware, is not canon.

People are worried about super op droid frames and abilities.

It doesn’t sound like you’re violating that. Nobody’s gonna report that, and even if so, the report probably just gets dismissed.

I’d say you’re pretty safe. We have pure AI characters walking around.
