Dominion Catharian Hegemony, Dominion over Thearterra : War of the Blue Diamond : [Open to Invitees, Chiss Ascendency, and CH]

1FB61608655426BF4F76239B7437FCE31E6E8B79

The Battle of Bogo-Rai has ended, and now the Chiss Ascendency had been driven on the back-foot. The Battle for Bogo-Rai had ended in a completely humiliating defeat with most of the Chiss Garrison scattered throughout Chiss Space and unable to re-establish a proper united front. At the Catharian Throneworld of Cathay, millions are up in arms about the crushing victory they had scored over the Chiss in the very first battle of the War of the Blue Diamond. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers for both the rebuilding efforts on Bogo-Rai and new recruits for the newly founded 14th, 15th and 16th Legions of Armed Volunteers has strengthened the resolve and drive for the Catharians to annex its neighbor to the east.

In Chiss space, many millions are scared for what is coming next for their people if the Catharians find it possible to win total victory. Morale was low on Csillia and throughout Chiss Space. No loss greater, on their home turf has ever been perpetrated in Chiss History. No one has ever heard of the Catharians in several millennia, and they had been thought long destroyed by the Old Eternal Empire of Valkorion. Yet here they stood, planting their heels into the territory the Chiss once called home. Each Chiss knew that just two sectors away from Bogo-Rai lay Naporar and Sposia a literal stepping stone to the Chiss Homeworld itself.

Despite what had been wrought at the hands of the Catharians, Some Chiss have chosen to take up arms against their dying Ascendancy. Traitors, agents, even entire battalions of Chiss Troopers all turned on their former compatriots. Viewing the War of the Blue Diamond as a war lost the moment the first Catharian Army Trooper made their first step against Chiss during the Battle of Bogo-Rai.

"Viceroy Ventius Goerthal inspecting the workers on Bogo-Rai"

Meanwhile on Bogo-Rai istelf. A sizable garrison, approximately 3 Million Army Troopers have been tasked with the removal of the Old Chiss Governor, and the placement of the newest Catharian Viceroy. A famous former General in the Catharian Army. His name, Viceroy Ventius Goerthal. A quite well-liked and progressive member of the Catharian Senate, who was known to be quite forthcoming with his subjects and a just ruler. However, he was tough against crime and viewed all that committed it as lower than human. A somewhat, conservative viewpoint even for the Sith.

Almost immediately following the end of the Battle of Bogo-Rai, waves and waves of Catharian engineers, scientists, and workers have flooded the planet in the hopes of repairing its infrastructure and allowing the so called "Catharian Truth" to be spread about Bogo-Rai like a virulent virus. Infecting all before it with propaganda, and means to prevent rebellion in any sort of number. In only a week, most of Bogo-Rai's buildings have been partially rebuilt and a sense of normalcy returned to its conquered populace. The main question that these conquered had, in the face of their conquerors. Was their place in the growing Catharian Hegemony. Was it slavery? Or was it the time to cast off what made them Chiss and join the Catharian Hegemony in its goal to become the Bastion against the Forces of Chaos. Not a single civilian knew. But from that day forward, they were known no longer as subjects of the Chiss Ascendancy, but members of a new Empire. The days turned into weeks, as Bogo-Rai slowly became reborn. Reborn from the ashes of War and turned into a place where learning, and logic. Became the new Chiss Truth.

"Thearterran Biological Horror"

In the field, Xzaien ordered her vast armies to prepare themselves for the next operation in the Catharian Theatre. Operation "Liviticus" the end of the Thearterrans by any means possible. On Thearterra, hardly any Chiss existed with them only in small communities near the equator. Everywhere else, Only a virulent plague of hedonistic simpletons who sought to bring about a new disease into the Galaxy in the form of all consuming swarm. This race of subhumans exists as nothing more than a devouring swarm. Left to fester by whatever being controlled it. The mission was the destroy this world-wide pandemic and bring it under the heel of the Catharian Hegemony by any means possible. Even if it means complete and total extermination of the indigenous lifeforms in a calloused act of war only seen in the wars of the Ancient Republic.

Xzaien ordered a fleet, large enough to Capture three Star Systems to muster itself in the system of Bogo-Rai for the next phase of the war. Carrying on the raid herself, alongside the Space Marine Chapters, Sons of Xzeench, and the Blood Marines. As with hundreds of thousands of Penal Battalion Troopers taken from Bogo-Rai's prisons to be used in suicide attacks against a numerically powerful enemy to hopefully make the assault a lot easier for the Catharian Regulars. In unison, the fleet of battle-cruisers shot off into hyperspace and after a few short moments the fleet arrived in the Thearterran System.

"Catharian Penal Battalions, 1st Repetiers"

The fleet was met with no resistance at all, thus leaving Thearterra ready for Catharian attack. Onboard of each of the battle-cruisers. Thousands of Penal Battalioniers, Army Troopers, Space Marines, and Shocktroops awaited this glorious battle against the "Xenos" of Thearterra. As the fleet approached Thearterra, they began to deploy millions of landing craft to land as many Troops as possible. The first wave made up entirely of Penal Battalion Troops, who were hardly equipped with clothes yet given rudimentary blaster rifles to hopefully fight off the Biological Terrors on Thearterra. The first Waves arrived on Thearterra, forming up into rudimentary militarized groups of forty-men to a assigned Officer. Their mission: Destroy the Hives, and bring Thearterra under Catharian Rule by any means possible.

Each man in the Penal Battalions knew, that what would come next would likely be their execution. Almost each person in the Penal Battalions were slated for Death anyhow. And to face it now, in glorious battle against a horror that could threaten the Galaxy. Brought warmth to some, but terror to others. With Blaster rifles slung over their Shoulders, the Penal Squads made their way to the largest centrally located hive of Bio-Horros on Thearterra. The sounds of their bootsteps clouding out the howling winds, and the sight of volcanic dust settling over them. They marched like a blanket over the burning landscape, fearless in their drive to repent before Cathay itself.

In the distance, the ground began to rumble. A foreboding notice of course. In the moments following, hundreds of millions of Bio-logical horrors began their attack. Each the size of a cat, yet poisounous enough to literally melt a Penal Trooper's organs if it connects to him. In the very starting moments of battle. Hundreds of Penal Squad Troopers died horrible deaths, while gurling on their liquified internal organs. And soon, the flashes of blaster bolts and the sights of light and fire, felled the first waves of these small insects.... What came next. No one knew.

When the Catharian Dark Templars went into battle, they did so wearing alchemical breastplates over their plasteel armor. The breastplates came from the adepts of Jurgoran Forge, Azel Moran's power base in the Crater on Cathay.

Each breastplate was relatively ornate, echoing the Hegemony's preferred aesthetics. Each was a well-designed midgrade work of Sith alchemy - midgrade due to the unavoidable challenges of production at scale. Apart from supernatural durability on par with beskar or phrik, the breastplates offered one key ability: a small application of the Phobis Device enchantment. The Dark Templars would radiate a beacon of terror as their breastplates imposed indiscriminate fear on anyone nearby.

For your muses

With all the conflict daily, so far the galaxies' response to the swarm had been limited to retreat or surgical strikes. A few brave Jedi, a small unit of fierce Eldorai commandos, a Dark Jedi and a space bug hunter clearing a hive or two. All the time Kethborn One Sith plagues bubbling away in the darkness twisting hives and species into force knows what for force knows who. Time spent growing, seeding, eating, learning and adapting. No cures had yet been found to the mutagens as they continued to evolve from a Stage 1 to Stage 2 mutagen.

With the greater hive consensus only having the passing ability to transverse the stars to find new DNA, the hive mind itself had grown stagnant for a time. Until the arrival of the primeval that was, and new purpose, complex DNA beyond anything it had encountered before had reinvigorated many nerve clusters.

Xzaien Xzaien | Azel Moran | @All

Wildgrowth at the edges of the hive's influence, twisted the landscape into odd shapes as new DNA was experimented upon, much of the wildgrowth was untamed and not connected or controlled by the hive. The wildgrowth was often in conflict with the hive, in a battle of adaptation and renewal like an epicenter of an earthquake going outward to the edges. Well the earth was SHAKING now and not just with the new arrivals landing.

Small insects certainly swarmed ahead, numerous and of many different breeds, burned and scorched from the earth by those approaching, but that wasn’t what was coming in the darkness behind them. Darkness it was, the sun blotting out kind.

Orange-Storm.jpg

A StormSurge ahead of the Swarm.

Orange dust cloud could be seen on the horizon, a mid-level stormsurge, strong enough to cause shock and damage to electrical systems but perhaps not destroy things outright. Worse inside that cloud, of lightening and ionizing bursts. A SwarmSurge Factor 3 was brewing. Factor three was noticeable beneath the earth, not enough to split a planet asunder, but the hive connections here were big enough to cause concern, and tremors to those ahead of it. BIG creatures were moving under this place, giant worms and crawling beasts, the swarm mind and consensus had awoken in full force to the threat.

The earth rumbled, the ground split and the swarm surged ahead of her.

Location Hive 1, Main Nerve Cluster. Center of the Swarm

Under the earth in the deep black twisting tunnels of the swarm. From inside a specially adapted breeding chamber, Kylraya’s eyes opened, her talons curling outward and she cut her way out. Overhead and out of the cloud, basic sphere spitters launched their payload toward the unsuspecting enemy forces. With the explosive power of a blaster cannon in their projectile impacts, chemical of course but the devastation and surprise was often the same. Yes the hive had been learning.... it now had tank eaters too.

If there was anybody who knew the dynamics of interdictor warfare and scouting, it was Titus. He had quite literally written the book on the subject. He had taught it for years at the Training Grounds. He even had once educated none other than Xzaien Xzaien (the fleet commander) on the topic, something that got him a promotion to Captain.

However, Titus felt a strange sense of fear as he approached the planet. This was a swarm. A virus. A disease. Not a conventional enemy like the seasoned intelligence officer and now escort commander was used to fighting.

This fear became even greater as the escort jumped out of hyperspace. One interdictor battle cruiser and four scout ships was enough to act as an intelligencer, not to engage the stuff head on. He genuinely feared for the lives of the scout ship staff, as he really didn't know whether they could just infest them.

He wanted to keep as safe as possible and do his job, which was, firstly, to prevent the Hive from escaping the planet and, secondly, to scout for his boss.

...which, as expected, he ordered his escort to do.

"Scout Escort, the is Captain Ludicola. CNS Spider Web, halt advance and open interdictor fields. Scout ships, engage cloaking devices and approach the planet. Once you reach the atmosphere you will receive your run plans. Ludicola out."

As soon as he issued the order, the escort complied. The CNS Spider Web halted its advance and, within ten seconds, activated it's interdictor field, trapping any bugs within the system. The scout ships cloaked, making them invisible to the Hive as they approached the atmosphere and awaited their flight plans.

Titus then waited for the main battle ships to arrive so he could receive orders from the Fleet Commander Xzaien Xzaien

"Catharian Clone Troopers"

The arrival of Xzaien's Flagship, the "Cathay Rahtai" had only cemented that this little skirmish would end as a massive battle for Thearterras surface. With her fleet, Xzaien had arrived mere hours after the first Penal Squad battalions landed. Each ship in her fleet packed full with as many Catharian Space Marines, Templars, Revenants, and the Elite of both force orders, the Telepathica Battalions.

In those Black Ships above Thearterra, beings of horrible power lay stirring in preparation for battle. Each of the members of the Telepathica grotesquely altered to better defined the already terrible power they wielded at their fingertips. Hundreds of thousands of Telepaths lay waiting for their next battle. Hungry for the hunt, for the blood of their enemies. In other ships, lay the Dark Templars. Beings that held the unholy power of the Dark-Side and specialized in pure unadulterated destruction, whereas the Revanants were beings composed of light-sided adepts, focus on the passive abilities of the force that enhanced their vast armies. Battle-Meditation, illusions. All were weapons of the Revanants.

At the wings of this fleet, stood the Chapter Ships of Xzaien's Space Marines. Genetically bred warriors who served only a single purpose in Xzaien's Hegemony. To destroy her enemies with extreme prejudice. Two were visible, the "Sons of Xzeench" and the "Blood Marine" Legions. Each made up of six-thousand Battle Brothers. Augmenting this force were carrier chips chock-full of the latest batches of Catharian Clone Trooper, each based off the ailing Fett-Genome yet bred to be the best soldiers the Catharians had on tap. Alongside these Clones, were the vast armies of Cathay. Army Troopers in the millions, Shock Troopers in the Thousands, and support staff.

Yet however, the secret weapon of the Catharian Hegemony has yet to of revealed itself.

As the very first ships of Xzaien's armada made planet-fall onto Thearterra's surface. A deep sense of foreboding manifested itself before the armies of Bugs that were locked in a fierce battle between Penal Battalions that numbered in the hundreds of thousands. As Xzaien's shuttle landed neatly upon a small pile of chilled lava. Two figures left the ship. A Woman, clad in blood-red robes who seemed to generate a field of Dark-Side energy around her body. However, the being that stood next to her, was an abomination in the force. Something that shouldn't exist yet did. A being composed almost entirely of a unwitting spirit, forced to take up the form of a long dead Jedi Master.

This being, conjured up from the very essence of battle, and bloodshed. Was none other than the Prodigal Knight himself, Revan. Forever cursed to walk the Galaxy again at the behest of the horrible sorcery perpetrated to man who's spirit was consumed by the ever-hungry dark essence of Revan's Dark Half. All the Galaxy again, would bend a knee to Revan once again. This being of unholy power stretched over a torso taller than the woman in red. Literally leeching force energy from around itself, and allowing tendrils of Dark-Side energy to fall from its body. The only solid pieces of this abomination were the single cracked Mask implanted onto its face, and the light-saber in its hand. After stepping forth, this perversion of the force ignited its light-saber, bathing a small area in the color of a deep-purple.

To its direct side, Stood the Autocrat of the Catharian Hegemony herself. Xzaien. She two force-grabbed a lightsaber hilt from her belt and igniting it in her hand. Mixing her blade of Red and black, with Revan's purple. Around Xzaien, landing vessels were seen offloading the battalions of Dark Adepts, and Light Adepts alongside the members of Telepaths.

What the Galaxy didn't know, was that each Telepath had the ability to conjure up storms of horrifying power and literally disintegrate platoons of men with their lightning. A horrible prospect to some. Yet proved bounds about the Catharian way of technology, and the enhancement of inborn abilities. These Telepaths, formed a wedge about twenty men strong just prior to the front line before them and as if called on by the gods themselves, the Penal squads immediately made an attempt to get out of the way. Each Telepath drew in breath, and drew their hands back, around them the cracking of lightning and the sounds of a deep vibrato made itself appear among their ranks. Not before they shot their hands forth in unison and created a cascade effect of deep purple lightning which literally generated into a single thirty-meter wide lightning bolt which connected squarely with the marching line of bugs. Catching a few Penal Squad Troops in it, yet creating a trench through the bug's lines. A thunderous boom echoed across the landscape, as thousands of insect lives were extinguished within a few nano-seconds. Disintegrating the foot-soldiers, yet badly wounding the larger Tank Bugs in a horrible scarring fashion.

tumblr_mwhjut6PBx1rsrbdko4_r1_500.gifv

Behind these Telepaths, Xzaien spoke to the Captains in orbit to begin what was called a "Cataclysmic" Orbital Bombardment of the emerging bugs. Where each ship fired everything they had in their arsenal at a wide-target. This was surely to thin out the Bugs before the real surgical work would begin. In the sky, turbo laser bolts and the screaming bolts of missiles and secondary battery fire filled the air in the Bug's lines. Disintegrating them in droves, with beams of light and fire.

Titus Julius Ludicola Titus Julius Ludicola Received orders to find fissures in the volcanic rock in the mountain before them. Then use his scout ships to detonate them with blasting charges. This would likely collapse the main tunnels and funnel the bugs into a massive kilometer wide killzone where his ships could bombard them with turbo-laser fire.

JURGORAN FORGE

For once, Azel's personal forge-slash-meditation chamber was dead quiet. The hulking alchemist loomed over a visionary basin full of water from legendary Aza'zoth, and watched Xzaien Xzaien 's newest instrument from afar.

It couldn't be Revan himself, that much was clear. Beings of history and legend didn't endure into or feature in the modern age, some side effect of the 400-year darkness perhaps, or the utopian time before. The 'why' of that was a question Azel had long pondered. More interesting, though, was the question of what Xzaien's Revan spectre actually was. Another spirit or amalgamation of spirits, maybe - or a different kind of being, the sort that ambitious Sith summoned or bound or made deals with. Maybe Xzaien thought she had the actual Revan on a leash. Maybe.

In the end, though, what did it matter? The second coming of even a false Revan could be immeasurably useful.

Ludicola had received orders to engage in a containment bombardment assisted by scout ships blasting the shit out of volcanic rock. Intelligent on the Autocrat's part.

The Captain immediately ordered his interdictor to keep its fields open and to advance to a place next to Xzaien Xzaien 's flagship. This meant that the space to land cannons located on the bottom of his ship could assist the Autocrat in her bombardment scheme to destroy the bugs. His interdictor also used its top of the line mapping software to find fissures in the volcanic rock where he could send scout ships to bomb them, forcing the bugs out and into the warm, loving blasts of his cannon fire. He immediately spotted exactly four such fissures, each of which he gave to a scout ship.

Afterwards, he assigned orders to his scout ships.

"All scout ships, follow the flight plans being sent to you as we speak. Keep your cloaking devices on until you reach the surface and are in position to start using your blasting charges. Then shift all power from your cloaking device to your shields and let rip."

Every scout ship captain responded within twenty seconds and began approaching the planet. The scout ships did exactly as requested and proceeded to bomb the hell out of the fissures. Their shields were completely able to withstand the blast of the rock. Just as Xzaien Xzaien had expected, the mountain began to collapse and, in direct proportion with it doing so, the bugs began to leave into the kill zone.

"Autocrat, the volcano has begun collapsing and the bugs are escaping. Permission to open fire," Ludicola said.

Hive fissures provided a good target for the ships in orbit or in atmosphere. Pressure and heat often vented to create the conditions necessary for the formation of minerals and liquids designed to create the substructure and tunnels underground. The ion storm billowing out of the top of the hive, had certainly given them a pinpoint location to target superheated rock, fire reigning down on the convergence nodes and breeding chambers. The Hive had yet to face serious orbital bombardment and had not adapted to it! Focused attention from the mind was on this battle, learning and growing.

Xzaien Xzaien

Pounded from orbit, fire and flame smashing the surge from all directions, and turning the landscape into craters. Foreboding was new. Did it blunt the surge? No time for the impulse to comprehend! A trench of force energy cut through the encroaching horde like splitting up a writhing mass, disintegrating tank eaters, drones and scuttling beetles both below and above the ground, magma spilling outward from the carriers to raise superheated discharge into the air. The screeching ahead was exhausting just hearing it, howling from the hive as a thousand fell in the burst. Yet more roamed across the fallen, the endless biomass protectively surging as was the swarm's impluse, even blunted as it was. Lighter drones reached the front soldiers and began to engage them directly. Drones were largely scuttling insectoids big and small, that went down to a few well-placed shots, sometimes landing a piercing hit with claw or teeth on one of the many legionnaires, sometimes cut down by simple blaster fire, rarely a man might be dragged under the ground to an uncertain fate or caught in a shower of exploding acid.

Behind them hulking Magma Keepers began to reach the fray, hurling great superheated mass into the enemy from their mouths, possibly incinerating men in large cluster shots. A terrifying display, like most of this surely to test the moral of the less battlehardend of the enemy number. The front of the battle began to resemble the worst images of warfare or your nightmares, for this was an engineered nightmare of a One Sith Lord.

RUMBLING. Bigger was coming, great worms beneath the earth, their approach unmistakable carrying their own surprises deep within their stomachs. Keth would have been so proud at the chaos unleashed upon Thearterra, a sith lord mocking the Kae, the Jedi and today life itself with every passing century. Not even his death held his apprentices back. GhostOfProtocol GhostOfProtocol had missed his one chance to stop this...

Visions of the future if the brave fail to contain another hive today...

Titus Julius Ludicola Titus Julius Ludicola

Scout ships flying through the ion charged storm may find themselves buffeted, struck or just in some form of distress, even if their charges rang true below to cause great uproar and commotion. The storm a cheap way to make up for the lack of air-support the hive had.

Or had until recently, several dozen energy leeches barrelled out of the crumbling hive, leech-like creatures looking to attach themselves to any ship flying by. Not much of a threat to those in orbit, even in the atmosphere but a hazard adding to the pile ahead of the fighters bombing the fissures on the surface. The leaches were dumb but dangerous. Creatures only drawn to feeding to try to deplete the fighter’s and send them barreling to the ground below or perchance into the ion strikes around them.

@Any

Somewhere in the middle of the horde a sizeable firstspawn, its many arms, hardened terminus exoskeleton and swarm fighting claws's shaped into lethal blades could be seen, trampling over drones or other smaller creatures not quick enough to get out of its own way. It did not have the higher reasoning of some present, it only drew on pure impulse when shaped into a surge.

Akestos, once a proud sword dancer’s instinct was drawn to Surge. Protect. Consume. Surge will completely dominating its own actions, unlike Kylraya it could barely even hear the voices of the others as they collectively fought and died. It roared and bound forward within the thick of the biomass, behind a tank eater, and looking to simply crush or rend anything which got in its way. Seemingly having enough intelligence or instinct to use the even bigger house-sized creature ahead for cover, but not much else could be said for the most terrifying monstrosities about to dive face-first into the front lines.

You see, Titus was a bit of a tactical genius. He knew the hive would counter-attack somehow. They wouldn't respond lightly to having their homed pummeled with bomber fire.

However, these were small corvettes equipped with great shielding capable of repelling any member of the flying swarm. Any attempt they'd make to attach themselves to the scout ships would likely result in them getting fried at worst or getting singed at best. They'd realize quite quickly that trying to destroy the scout ships would fail.

Captain Ludicola did not order his interdictor to open fire until he got the order from Xzaien. This was designed to keep on her good side and not jump her gun as well as an excuse to wait for his scout ships to get clear into the atmosphere before he started pummeling the Hive.

The hundreds of thousands worth of Penal Squads did manage some damage upon the main body of the Hive-mind's ground forces. Each Penal trooper taking with him at least ten scores worth of bugs before being felled themselves by claw and teeth. These Penal Troopers were valiant in their efforts to stop the hive at all costs and they died in droves. Each of them valiant to the last with many performing great acts of sacrifice in order to do as much damage as humanly possible. Be it detonating their grenade belts in a last act of defiance to the Xenos, to standing upon the corpses of their fallen brothers and shooting down with their blaster-rifles any bug that neared them. Despite their crimes, the only way to redeem themselves in the eye of Xzaien was to die in her service in the most glorious way possible. Even the men who had gleaned even a little bit of equipment found themselves in the Eye of Terror itself as battalions of men were ignited by fire-spewing bugs and burned with acid spitting flying creatures. Nevertheless, those who had accepted death charged forth, in their hands, spades, bayonets, knives, and fists were all weapons in the eyes of these dead men. Desperate in their mission to destroy this ever-encompassing plague of biological horrors. Across the battlefield, million of these Penal Troopers echoed a war-cry that shook the earth beneath them. As a means to bring terror into the hearts of the bug's overlords who would surely feel the boot-steps of a million men, and the cries of that million men in unison. However, these men of courage would be inter-laden with men and women of cowardly tact and demeanor. Even despite all that had been lost to these doomed men and women, for every man that died. Five more took his place. Presumably, before the battle most of the individuals in Cathay's Penal Battalion have all been hopped up on some sort of extremely potent combat stimulant...

They turned back from the inevitable doom that stood before them and as they ran back to the defensive lines manned by Cathay's Finest, they were simply blasted down in droves. Catharian Clones, with their long guns simply blowing cauterized holes in the Penal's rough-spun vests, even Space Marines who literally blew men apart with their potent slug-thrower bolt guns. Even the Catharian Marines heavily armored Chapter Masters took a delight in all of this carnage. With them literally cleaving squads of men in two with their bladed gauntlets. This calloused usage of manpower only solidified one thing, That Cathay will bring every man and woman to fight to the death for its ideals.

"Catharian Templar with Psionic Blades, and Mastercrafted Breastplates"

Xzaien's Templars, and Telepathica Troops made their way in a massive wedge formation at the very center of the Penal Squad battalions. Two ranks thick, with the extremely powerful Telepathica Troops literally creating their own localized Force Storms which rained down electric death and light from above, burning away the very surface soil of Thearterra. The lesser Templars made their own mark on this battle aswell. Each man and woman a warrior, carrying blades of force-created psionic blades and augmented by the power of their breastplates created by the Master Smith Azel Moran himself. Augmenting their abilities and allowing them to rain cascading force abilities, and even wide sweeping blasts with their psionic blades.

At the back of the battle, a few hundred of Xzaien Revanants stood by, kneeling in a column five men wide. Each producing a massive dazzling array of illusions in the sky. Massive Battleships, Swarming fighters, and legions of Troops. To disorient and confuse the Hivemind in every-which way, legions of enemies appearing in the very tunnels of the hive, to swarming drones that harassed the bigger Bugs to either trample their own or shoot scalding acid at empty air. The illusions the Revenants employed were also augmented by at least five men performing battle-meditation. Forcing the Penal Squads and Templars to fight more effectively, and be utterly fearless in combat.

Xzaien stood next to her pet. Turning to it briefly as she watched a multitude of scout-ships barrel-roll overhead, zooming straight past the Bug's lines and flying into the mountains where the blood red glow of thermal explosives were detonated. Collapsing large sections of the volcanic mountain, and making flowing lava a new obstacle across the battle-field. She raised her hand to her face, speaking into her comlink.

"Admiral Keyes, Deploy the Carriers and their contingents. Captain Ludicola, Fire upon the fissures with everything you got. Torpedos, Turbolasers, everything. I want this section of mountain wiped off the face of Thearterra forever. Pick your targets."

In orbit, Raxis Keyes's flagship, and the Interdictor carriers all began to deploy their snub-vessels. However, in formation of vessels. Lay two Harrower Class Dreadnoughts which suddenly opened up with their Star-Destroyer sized complement of turbolasers. Meanwhile, as the snub-vessels entered orbit, many of them split off in various wings with bombers being escorted by fighters, and heavy-fighters escorting the larger sized heavy-bombers. They entered the battle as unpredictably as they came. Laying waste to entire platoons of bugs with incendiary weapons, alongside conventional high-explosive impact explosives. But, the sky became awash with red light as Turbolaser bolts streaked across the sky in mesmerizing cloud of directed energy fire. Which seemed to split off, with roughly half of the inbound turbolasers impacting directly with the created fissures in the rock, and the other half impacting with the racing lines of bugs. The sheer scale of Catharian Combined arms has never been seen before in Galactic History. Surely this battle, and the defenders would forever be put into writing as one of the greatest battles of the-

Mag stood, with his Catharian Chapter Master Power Armor MK-3CM. And with him his Chapter. He gave command over to another for this one, having decided that commanding would be a job only for if in emergencies. If he truly saw an objective that was clearly necessary. However Mag himself, intended to move on his own. Unlike last time where his Chapter moved as a large unit, they were spread out in smaller groups of around ten. With Mag's being only five and himself.

They were facing enemies with numbers far more numerous than those of the Chiss in their last battle. Far more...disgusting. That was not something Mag really took into account though. He was just here to obey, to help. And to do that, he was going to do something a little different than last time. Where last time he simply joined his forces in routing the enemy forces, this time he wanted to gain attention of the higher ups. Make himself important enough to force them into coming after him.

And so they moved, most of his troops following anothers orders while himself and the few with him used their jetpacks to leap across the battlefield. One of them carried a rocket launcher with a bag full of ammo, another, like him, carried a large rotary chaingun with a similar design to the Z-6. Intended to send massive amounts of blaster fire into the enemy rather than single heavy blasts. The rest carried heavy melee weapons. The plan was simple. They'd leap with the aid of the jetpacks intending to hit them in the center of mass amounts of forces, a rocket would lead the way to clear forces before they landed. Then Mag and another would keep them off, while the rest would attack those surprised by the impact with their melee weapons and the rocket reloaded. Then, repeat the process the moment they couldn't optimize off of it.

Dumb as they were the energy leeches splattered themselves one after the other onto the corvettes, no self-preservation just an overwhelming need to feed, making a mess of the ships paint jobs probably, pity the man or woman stuck with cleanup detail afterward!

Tunnels beneath the ground continued to cave inward, the d13 harden mineral supporting structure within the hive was holding up better than some might expect as it was inorganic, but still collapsing in places to the continued bombardment. Largely because much of the hive was under the earth it took time to dig through to it, even as layers of living terminus armor were blown or cut off the supporting D13 mineral.

The Kae vine sending lifeblood and fluid around the hives tried to compensate to repair the damage, trying to self heal the numerous wounds it was experiencing in quick succession, but it was having a great deal of trouble where it was cut or dying. Bombardment felt different, it was a million tiny cuts to the hive across the board. Above Sphere spitter shots wrang out at the corvettes, not guided or seeking, but trying to catch one or two from a lucky hit.

As the battle raged, Titus from his vantage point might note that as a larger or more well-protected convergence node fell, so did some of the surge impulse to apathy, not directly out of the fight, but slower or less directed toward the Hegemonies forces. A weakness to target as the ground had begun to open up to reveal them as well as breeding chambers making new drones....

Xzaien Xzaien

A million men in unison was felt across the swarms own greater consciousness, not just one hive’s territory or body. Several of the drones raised their head maybe even one or two at the front paused to look up and gather new impulse or experience, probably having their head or what passed for it shot off. Bolters from the legions facing the hive cast their explosive gaze and it was not the only response from the Hegemony.

With the telepaths efforts. Storms met storms and the atmosphere began to crackle, echoing the two weather fronts against themselves. Lightening going upward as well as down. Volcanic ash particles turning in on themselves. Illusions above added to the spectacle and confusion about what was being hunted, sending drones in mixed directions.

Armored hegemony formations at the center pulling together, were powerful indeed and they succeeded in driving apart the surge to cut its drones when they tried to penetrate that central wall. It was a marvel of iron and explosive, force storms and illusions which cut the biomass asunder. But… a million boots made for the largest degree of sound to hunt from below, these heavier formations had a downside. The larger swarm soliders or predators were still propelled to hunt by instinct. As had been building... the most magnificent of all the predators the hive possessed, with a true earthquake to match the marching legions, came straight through the middle of their lines, just as the telepaths had done to the hive earlier. They would feel it coming but could they stop it?

Bursting from the ground, splitting the landscape around it asunder.

A HUGE worm creature roared with the strength of a thousand. Blaster and bolter fire peppering the many layers of the beast, a marvel of nature and fearsome to see at its size. The ion storm(s) above matching the dust cloud it brought from below, and perhaps blinding those within from the intensity of the dust clouds.

Today Thearterra gave the term hell or netherworld a new meaning. A galaxy might see why the terminus virus needed to end. From out its second stomach, drones and predators spilled. Eating into the lines of the legions. Animal transport, biologically evolved to smash into the hardiest of battleline or the thickest of armored structures and take fire as it delivered its payload.

Terror was given a new decibel range to reach, one loud enough to shatter the eardrums of those closest to its rise. The worms numbered few but their gigantic bodies thundered down across man, vehicle or structure, a few heading right for the telepaths, one even coming FROM UNDERNEATH the great telepathic bastion

The Hegemonies storm’s owned skies. Their psionic blades held the ground. Did they own under the earth? The answer would be upon them in moments.

While further bombardment was melting away the hive's defenses deeper into the larger core nodes, starting to leave only those like Kylraya Kylraya still connecting the vast swell of drones to the swarm’s greater will. Thankfully the directive of a surge was very simple and lacked need for nuance. KILL | CONSUME

Mag Mag

KILL | CONSUME

Impulse
. Among the brave hedgemony forces in the thick of the fighting somewhere on the battlefield. Akestos’s easy to see dark orange form was leading a group of swarm predators that were especially vicious creations, perhaps even another lumbering firstborn among them. Predators were the largest or most vicious creations the hive had to offer, firstborn were instead hive creations that were given extra layers of armor, mutations, limbs and generally not a welcome sight to see. Often rewarded with ‘upgrades’ if they served the swarm’s greater will effectively. They’d even been holding their own with a telepath or two, from sheer force of will and wanton violence. If there was a sith standard for violence, for the slaughter of men and breaking of will, those two sword-wielding hive abominations called firstborn embodied it whole. Created to do exactly that by those same Sith that reveled in it.

The Surge Lord’s curdling roar sent a man fleeing, as another three penal squad members were swept up in the many arms and hive clawed swords of the creature, its cleaving blades cutting challenge to the best of the hegemony. Were any up to stopping it? Blaster bolts were ricocheting off its terminus armor, like Akestos was mocking the bodies of the fallen Penal squads lying at its feet, crimson deliverance dripping their blood from its malformed blades. Another man was crushed beneath its clawed-foot, the beast turned its head upwards to see…. Mag Mag

"Orders understood, Autocrat. Master Gunnery Officer, give your gunners a fifteen-count after the end of this sentence to allow the scout ships to get out into the atmosphere. When done, you'll order them to hit all the targets assigned to them... maximum firepower."

Titus had not lost notice of the fact that there was a key weakness in the Hive. In fact, a breeding chamber had been revealed. A lucky shot from a scout ship had destroyed a convergence node, and revealed a massive weakness. An intelligent intelligence analyst on the mapping decks of the ship noted the location of the chamber and put it on the target list.

After Titus had finished speaking, the Spider Web's chief gunner nodded in agreement, followed by typing the coordinates to the gunnery computing system. He gave the scout ships the indicated fifteen count; this gave them enough time to move back into the atmosphere diagonally, away from the kill zone. As they finished moving away and returned back into the upper atmosphere, the fifteen count ended and a "FIRE" sign appeared on the gunner's info pad. With a vengeance, all bottom deck guns opened fire and all hell broke loose. The Hive was literally getting pummeled with nothing short of Armageddon, hitting every single last fissure with unbelievable precision. Many, many shots managed to hit the breeding chambers, ripping through young Hivelings like a lightsaber cutting through a droid.

The battle raged as immensely as the force of a thousand turbolasers crashed and glassed a portion of Thearterra's surface. Searing it in near atomic fire in a attempt to purge all of bugs from exiting in other sectors of the planet. The Night went awash with red as turbolasers formed their own cascading effect of constant illumination. Bathing the bloodied Catharian Troops and bugs in this blood-red light.

Xzaien stood idly by as the felt the ground shake beneath her feet. A smile crept across her face as she peered to her abomination that stood by her side. Somehow, communicating with this bastard of Revan to carry out her will. The Shade of Revan seemingly complied, by it looking toward where the giant worm emerged from the ground, cracking the earth and kicking up a load of black dust from the volcanic rock. It stood there, gurgling menacingly as it scanned the battlefield for squads of men to consume. It had millions of helpless troops to choose from. From the roving legions of Penal Battalions, to the small platoons of the Elite Space Marines.

Fighting on the side of the Catharians, stood the best and brightest of the Hegemony's Space Marine corps. The first of the firstborns of Cathay, the Sons of Xzeench their namesake taken from the Autocrat herself and who served as her go-to guardsmen for inter-system travel into known space outside of the unknown regions. And the lesser known Blood Marines, who themselves were still of the genetically altered stock of soldiers as of the Sons of Xzeench, but they bore a massive difference in their armor compared to their brethren on the field. Wholly dedicated of firepower, each Battle-Brother in the Blood Marines had the most powerful armaments ever created by Catharian Hands. Their armor painted blood red with large swaths of blue, the battlefield. A canvas, their weapons, their brushes. In each of their hands were weapons of near legendary status.

C0735F2EA97335A2E216D748E1C3E0DBBEB3EE6F

Axes that could cut barrels off of Turbo-laser cannons, and blaster cannons that fired so quickly, that each volley of fire became a single continuous beam of blaster bolts. The men in the Blood Marines each lusted for battle, and this battle would soon launch them into legend. Having remained in the back of the battle ever since of its beginning, the Blood Marines marched forth to meet this worm. Each man of the ten-thousand strong Blood Marines raised their weapons at this creature. Bolt-Guns, Cannons, Laser Batteries, Rockets, an entire armies worth of armament in a single ten-thousand strong legion. All fired in unison at this creature. Rounds aimed at its eyes, mouth, and the gaps in its armor. Following, a rolling cascade of thunder was fired from the shoulder mounted rocket launchers mounted on their armor, a swirling mass of rockets aimed straight for the weak-points in the worms armor. A terrifying prospect to be fired at with weapons literally designed to destroy corvettes in low orbit.

In the other flank, the Telepaths were seen clearing wave after wave of bugs with chain-lighting conjured up with their hands. A literal thunderstorm of energy swirled around these men of the Telepathica. The Templars were not far behind, as they rended their way through wave after wave of Bug Infantry, and sustained a few losses. As the ground shook again beneath the Templars, the decision to fall back was a quick one. Allowing waves of bugs to close the pocket they had created. In other portions of the lines, Penal Squad Troops died in horrible numbers, in a seemingly suicidal charge against a determined enemy. The Templars and the Telepaths reformed. Ready for whatever the bugs would throw at them.

Mag Mag stood alone in a field of bodies those of both a few of his Space Marines, Penal Troops, and viscera of bug infantry, With a few Marines to his escort. Meanwhile, the Swarm lord Akestos Akestos stood alone. Quite literally challenging the Chapter Master to single combat. Would this be the start of a Legendary Space Marine chapter? Or a horrible humiliation that shall forever haunt these Marines for the rest of their days?

Xzaien stepped forward, followed closely by her abomination of the force. She quite literally parted the front-line like the Red Sea and stepped forth, flanked on either side by the most powerful force-users the Catharian Hegemony had to offer. In a crackling display of light and fire, Xzaien conjured up at her own fingertips a brocade of lightning that seemed to itself seep power from the storm that raged above. Meanwhile, the Copy of Revan lurched his arms back, while himself gathering power. The Telepaths, and the Templars followed suit, giving themselves over to the dark-side. Around them, a aura of deep purple appeared, clouding out each man and women in a near pitch black darkness. Suddenly, a bright beam of red colored lightning shot down from the heavens, Splitting off into multiple beams and impacting with each Force User's ready hands. In unison, and with a thunderous crash that shook the stars, they shot forward their hands forward, creating a massive semi-circular shockwave which seemed to completely disintigrate any bug within close range, and either disorienting or burning those that strayed kilometers away. The crackle of lightning, and booms of power that echoed within the Force Users could quite literally be felt across the galaxy. This conjuration of a horrible power to literally snuff out life at a scale none had believed possible ever since the times of Lord Nihlius, and Vitiate. Crisscrossing through Thearterras surface multiple times as the portions of the underground hive were suddenly ignited with invisible fire, and poisonous tentacles of dark-side energy. It seemed the blast was only aimed at the birthing chambers beneath them...

A wound has been created today... A wound in the force.

Akestos Akestos
Equipment: Catharian Chapter Master Power Armor MK-3CM, rotary cannon (like Z-6)
Troops: Rocket, rotary cannon, three melee

Mag and his group were soon to face something far more important than the basic bugs that swarmed around. They were soon met with things far more...difficult. Larger than their others certainly. But it was not just these that Mag was concerned about, but rather, Akestos Akestos . Superior clearly, and from what he saw, carving it's way through the Hegemony's forces. He watched as blaster bolts did little but bounce off the creature, and then it turned to face him. "You take on those two, that ones mine." he said. The Marines with him turned their focus on the two that were approaching them, the one with the rotary cannon setting out the initial fire while the rocket marine prepared to fire. The moment he was ready he'd call out, all five of them would jet boost into the air and he'd fire beneath them attempting to hit the creatures as long as everyone came with them. The plan was simple, two of the marines with melee take on one of the enemy. The rotary cannon and the other melee do the same for the other one. The rocket trooper reloads. Repeat the process. They were big, strong, well trained people in heavy armor, it'd take a a few good hits to put them down. But they were facing creatures that were quite deadly in turn.

Mag jet boosted himself through the air, firing the rotary cannon at the "Surge lord" hoping to get a few shots into his eyes. While the weapon might fire many light fire, it was usually perfect for mowing down many enemies, or a jedi. It didn't have the raw power that might be necessary. Didn't mean he couldn't outright bash the creature with it though, his armor was fitted for melee combat, to take advantage of his natural flexibility, and strength which had been absurdly increased when he was made into a marine. A massive Zeltron man muscled like some kind of beast of his own. If the high rated blaster fire didn't work, he absolutely planned on attempting to double kick the thing on his way down from the leap. Success or not. He didn't want to give it the chance to cause more destruction.

Although Kylraya would have been sent into a blood-soaked frenzy at the death of so many of the hive, the silence of so many voices. The Surge Lord was compelled by stronger impulse, which now included the survival of the hive itself. When the wounded beast was backed against the wall, all its teeth came for you.

Which is exactly what happened next, and so many jaws or claws there were.

Titus Julius Ludicola Titus Julius Ludicola

The efforts of the Navy had been largely successful, and their steadfastness despite the storms and the chaos was well rewarded, lesser men or women might have lost their composure or retreated in the face of this hellscape. If they could face this, those pilots here today would be battle-hardened to anything the galaxy could throw at them, a true wing of aces and elite unit perhaps in the making for the hegemonies future.

Despite the Kae vine trying to repair the damage to lost clusters, eventually cut in so many places much of the hive fauna was dying. Though there would be wild contagion on the landscape in need of cleansing, inside the hive it was twisting, burning, and the volcano that had made the storm was collapsing, running its magma through its own tunnels. Although many creatures were hardened to heat, magma was a different story and they found their end under the earth, turned to ash or worse.

Though dangerously as the volcano collapsed it did again erupt one final time, and the air became thicker and yet more hazardous for all. Lava, and superheated gas spewed forth over the landscape, chunks of rock sent great distances in all directions, crushing unfortunates beneath it.

Xzaien Xzaien

An ever bloodier scene to be sure. The few worms fighting met everything that was thrown at them, even as their transported drones launched themselves at their prey, these creatures were gigantic. Their many layers of hides shrugging off hits from rapid-fire weapons or explosives, weaker to beams, railguns or armor-piercing weapons, yet the sheer volume of blood marine fire coming as almost one beam, and their ferocity even as the beast came directly at them began to make headway. Finding that the worm's mouths were much more vulnerable, as the Hegemony learned of their foe they would do increasing damage, but till then many of the lesser battalions men were crushed beneath their bodies, or swept up like food for these titans to find a grizzly end. Over these long tense moments, as the first worm was quite literally cut in two by the sheer volume of fire, it moved even then. Though much less effectively, the sheer size of them on the field were a danger even in two beserk halves writhing under the impacts and crushing many.

Lightning had turned many more swarmlings to a blackened corpse, bombed from orbit and from the sky. Yet the great beam from the heavens tore into the remaining biomass and cut right into the earth, scalping out the last breeding chambers under the earth with this raw display of power. The groan from hive creatures was almost a sonic attack in itself. Summoning a last-ditch scream to come...

A wound in the force… now pain in its memory. Clear battle lines were a distant memory at this point. With the deaths of hives elsewhere, and with the main hive eviscerated, in the middle of the chaos, force screams came from the intelligent convergencies, those acting as nodes to control the others in place of the dying hive. Wailing banshee screams sent men ahead of them tumbling, those further away but unshielded probably lost their hearing and the closest lost more than that to the wave of screaming energy sweeping forward through the melee. Concussive blasts impacted against armor and then bone, as the hive’s sirens kept up their screeching barrage in wave after wave. AImed right at the telepaths and their symbolic shade...

Pain magnified and revisited. Used as a weapon, and engineered into the hive. Raien Keth's code. Kethenite Muse Music

Carving through was accurate, blood of many on its clawed blades. The black terminus barab armor covering it from blaster fire was the current apex of the hive’s exoskeletons, jagged and piercing. It had high damage resistances to most common forms of damage being a multipurpose battle armor for leading creatures of the swarm, but it was not completely immune to anything. Missing the eyes but hitting Akestos's head and right side. As Mag's blaster rotary gun picked up sufficient speed, with multiple hits on the same area it did start to impact that exoskeleton and chunks were starting to show damage. The same was true of the other firstspawn being hunted, who fought tail, claw, extra limbs, spitting darts, firing projectile blades or throwing acid. Each firstspawn a unique biologically engineered creature to face. The vile perfection of an ongoing mutation which had to be stopped...

Akestos was raw power, a heavy thundering weight in his exoskeleton, at least a ton and half in all that armor, but his bladework was surprisingly precise, as that had been his life before his… enlightenment. As Mag landed a heavy kick on the beast, Akestos swung around tail first. It's heavy armored tail coming around to try and simply impale the champion with its clawed pincer, while one of its arms tried to chop the rotary weapon in two. Two more arms moved their clawed blades defensively to shield, and yet still a FOURTH moved back ready to stab. This day would be a test not many would survive, and either his coronation as champion or funeral as food.

The bugs were seen thinning, their hordes and reinforcements utterly cut off via orbital bombardment. As all was known, this planet would be rid of these horrible Xenos by the time of tomorrow. In unison, a cry of triumph echoed across the sky as the first worm met its bloody end at the hands of Cathay's Finest Soldiers. The last of the penal squads charged across the battlefield, walking over the gobs of fallen criminals to engage the final worm in a blaze of glory that would be romanticized forever.

Even as the life left the few Penal Troops as they charged forth, a vigor had been reignited in their hearts to die in the most "explodey screw you" way possible. The front ranks threw down their Blasters, ripping open their surgically implanted vests. They charged forward at the worm, detonators in hand as they quite literally allowed themselves to be swallowed whole by the gargantuan worm. Inside of its mouth, they detonated their surgically implanted suicide vest. Showing the immediate vicinity with chunky green viscera and the remains of penal squad troops. Those on the ground literally hugged the Bug's underbelly, detonating all the same. The last of the Penal Troopers have perished in battle. Now, the Catharian Regulars surged forth from their hastily created trenches, blasters primed and promptly putting down each surviving bug with massed Blaster Fire.

The Space Marines followed suit, lighting up the sky with Bolt-Gun fire and electric rays of death which seemed to bounce in-between the bugs like chain lightning. However, in one final act of defiance. The Hive gathered its force-sensitive members and unleashed a force scream of epic proportions. Decimating waves of Catharian Regulars with mostly non-fatal injuries. Broken Bones, Destroyed Ear Drums. These were all common among the non-force sensitive members of Xzaien's army. However, the Force Users in the Templars received the most damage. Temporary loss of all force-sensitivity and a shock that seemed to be shared between them. They collasped to their knees, their hands driven to the sides of their helmets to stop the noise.

Only the members of the Elite Telepathica made their way unharmed. At their head, Stood a red-eyed Xzaien and her abomination who lead the V formation. They were intent of ending this hive of xeno scum with weapons of their own destructive design...

Leaping high into the air, the swarm mother was in bloodlust as her hive creatures fell, in what could only be described as a slaughter of thousands of voices, in an explosive fire around her, fragmentation on all sides. Worse she felt every death, as was her nature to bond, all that torment had driven her and the remaining creatures insane. Even these gigantic worms fell to the valiant sacrifices of man.

The end was close, as the remaining force sensitives in the hive number fell to unconsciousness screaming their last oblivion. You would have to picture a desperate last charge with one last convergence node, Kylraya, rallying what was left into what amounted to a suicide push. With the screams clearing the way and several of the telepaths falling, it was the shade of history, the symbolic leader they’d named after their fallen icon that Kylraya and the others came for.

Soaring higher in the air she came down with a crash, talons piercing through two marines unfortunate enough to be struck by them. One body remained, carried in front of the force witch to shield her from the fire turned her way, its body an effective barrier to stop her being hit. Even as those last few creatures with her faded one by one to enemy fire, the swarm mother was but steps from their symbolic leader, the fiercest of the hive just not dying. It was at that moment that the hegemony saw the face of the shades of revan, each one carrying a sword and rushing headfirst ahead of their icon. His symbol upon their crest.

“FOR THE LEGACY OF REVAN” Their swords crackled, they whirred and they cut the sound of the battlefield before they’d even cut armor.

The remaining forces met together gnashing teeth, claws, swords, armor and torn insect. The shades of revan as they would forever be called after this day flew the great hegemony flags into the heart of the swarm, coming to the defense of its symbolic history and heritage. Finding their place within the melee and if fate would have it, history. Though fate was a fickle master, that gave few a name beyond a day or the next battle.

But... It did not stop Kylraya who was now so close to the shade of revan that she could almost touch him, almost grab him… the madness in her eyes was feeling the deaths of thousands, in a never-ending cycle that would never die…. though the hegemony had done well to blunt the tip of the spear here today. She was a bloody mess, and a reminder of the dangers of a galaxy left unchecked and un shepherded, what Sith were truly capable of when left to their own devices.

The onslaught of Templars was suddenly stopped as the firing from Xzaien's forces finally ended it was as if they were showing mercy to a defeated foe. Leaving only Kylraya, Akestos and their small entourage standing amongst the bodies of their resident bugs. Almost wholly drowned in the blood of the Catharian Forces who have seemed to hardly suffer a single scratch against their vast numbers of Catharian Army Troops and Space Marine legions. Despite all the bodies of Catharian Penals they have felled, the Swarm Surge have suffered a highly debilitating injury today, not only to their pride, but to their leader's psionic capabilities to control her underlings.

The legions of Catharian Army Troopers surrounded the small group of surviving bugs who were blooded and thoroughly battle-worn, who had been herded into a small circle at the center of Millions of angry and vengeful Army Troops and Space Marines. Kylraya could hardly see through her near insane rage at the faces of those she had once been apart of. A sapient being, not controlled by the bugs very will to bend her knee to their will. As the armies of Cathay stopped in their tracks, they all presented Kylraya with angered and horrendous faces. Surely a single order was all it would take to fully destroy the Thearterran threat forever.

Through the block of Templars that stood directly to Kylraya's front the shadow of Revan and the blood-red robed Xzaien stepped forward. She was almost completely unscathed by the ravages of battle around her yet she bore this cordial expression written upon her face as she looked over the field of bodies behind of Kylraya. Tank bugs, Giant Worms, all were casualties in this massive campaign. However, a hint of sadness was felt by Xzaien as she looked over the felled corpses of those who had wholly dedicated their lives to repent in the eyes of the Hegemony's Leader. Each of them died bravely, bringing as many bugs with them as humanly possible.

Xzaien raised her arm to her mouth speaking into it briefly to High Admiral Keyes, and Captain Titus Julius Ludicola Titus Julius Ludicola .

"Stop the bombardment."

Almost instantly the bright rays of red light which permeated Thearterra's atmosphere suddenly stopped. And the utter pummeling that Kylraya's hive has received suddenly stopped. Allowing the bright orange and yellow magma flows to finally exit the crater that once was the Hive. Smoke arise from that area as what remained of organic grass was turned into glass. Likely temporarily rendering that portion of arable land uninhabitable into the foreseeable future.

The land around Kylraya and Xzaien were awash with blood and the remains of millions of braves from both sides. Both sides have fought hard and died in the millions to create a new home, and to defend a home respectively.

Xzaien stepped forward. Speaking directly to Kylraya.

"I sense that you know what I am. I know what you are. Today, I ask that you do not kill yourselves by attempting to fight a battle that no longer can be won. Surrender, and I promise that you will leave Catharian Space unharmed to fight another day."

" I commend your efforts despite your clear and obvious intentions for the rest of the Galaxy. Which is total extinction of all Sapient species besides your own. I ask that you surrender Thearterra, and your lives will be spared. Or perhaps we may discuss something more which could benefit us both? What say you, Insect Queen?

Kylraya Kylraya

"Order understood, Autocrat," Titus said immediately after she uttered her last syllable. "Gunnery deck, cease fire."

Immediately and with seeming machine-like precision, the entire gunnery deck stopped firing.

"Do you have any further orders for the CNS Spider Web, Autocrat?" Captain Ludicola asked on initiative; he knew his commanders loved when he offered his help.
