Sabrine was starting to finish healing herself with the sith amulet, she was nearly whole again. The few burns she picked up from [member="Vulpesen"] lightsabers had gone, and her collar bone was almost fixed, it would not take much longer. She just had to remain focused a little bit longer, and she would be ready to re-join the fight, and take down anything that got in her way. She was feeling strong again, and she hoped the gas had gone form the corridor. Though she was not going to take the risk, her rebreather was kaput, as the dog crushed the regulator and the supply had to be dumped. She would only know by sending some else in, for know that could wait, till she had finished healing.

The black-and-yellow X-wings continued to harass her own pilots as the fight swiftly moved through the asteroid field. The agile ships wove and dove among the asteroids as each tried to get an upper hand on the other. She'd lost at least one pilot to shots from one of the black-and-yellow X-wings. After that, her remaining pilots had pulled in close. They knew the dangers of combat in an asteroid field. And they weren't about to let one of their own fall victim to death by floating asteroid... or anything else if they could help it.

The deadly dance continued for several what felt like endless minutes through the asteroids. One by one, the black-and-yellow X-wings vanished from her scanners until there were only one or two left. As she watched, the remaining X-wings began quickly pulling away from the battle and making towards the Republic ships which were duking it out with Larraq's own forces. Her sensors warbled insistently. Jack was still tangling with the Murian transport a ways off. Now that most of her immediate issue was dealt with, Anija grinned.

Pulling sharply on her flight controls, Anija rolled to port and brought her bes'uliik around as she streaked towards where her sensors had told her Jack and his opponent were. It wasn't all that far from where she had been. A moment's hesitation and she jabbed her finger at the booster controls. She knew it wouldn't be as effective as the first time she had used it. And she was right. The booster still worked, and she could feel the g-forces of the boost shoving her back into her seat. But she could tell she wasn't moving as fast as she had the first time.

As she looped around the last asteroid which floated between her pilots and the battle between the freighters, Anija swore softly. She saw the Murian transport headed straight for the Kessel's Pride. And fast. She didn't seem to be veering off. Either the pilot was jare'la.... or something was wrong with his vessel's flight controls. It seemed like the perfect opportunity. And Anija took it as such. As the boost finally let up, amnd Anija's Bes'uliik slowed to normal speeds, she double-tapped her firing controls. Twin green bolts of light streaked out from her cannons towards the Osprey. She saw several shots from her pilots headed in the same direction.

Would the Murian transport hold up under the combined barrage, or would her pilot get smart and make a break for it? Only time would tell.

Jare'la: Stupidly oblivious to danger.

Jaccer wasn't stupid. He knew that if the he and his men would fight they would be quickly surrounded and terminated. "At ease, soldiers. Weapons down." ordered the Lieutenant. Many of those nearby wouldn't believe this command. The normally ruthless soldier was not one to succumb to the enemy but in this situation it was different. It was certain death versus a chance of retreating from the system and surviving.

Placing his rifle on the ground, Jaccer would begin approaching the team of Mandalorians with his hands above his head as if he was surrendering. He would raise his voice to gain the attention of the Field Marshall and his second in command, "Do I have your permission advance?" Chatter had come over the radio informing the Republic forces that they were being surrounded by hostile forces. If they were to fall back now there was a chance that they would've been caught in the crossfire between the two battling armies. Jaccer would not allow his soldiers to die like that, instead he would attempt to negotiate with the Field Marshall in order to secure a safe extraction route.

Hopefully these Mandalorians had honour and would stick to their word and allow the unit to retreat without issue, although Jaccer would much prefer his soldiers to be in the custody of the enemy than left for dead on this asteroid.

Captain Green sat in the command chair of the small vessel looking over the telemetry coming in. The 111 and its two accompanying sloops speed out away from the protection of the main battle group and was just about to enter into the asteroid belt. His navigator had plotted a coarse for the three ships of the 312th rapid deployment squadron which brought the ships up and into position to assist the forces of Commodore Selonna. Using the Asteroids themselves as cover for most of the trip, the three fast corvettes would hug the rocks as close as possible and move in with as much speed possible.

"Sir, Were entering the belt." said the Helmsman siting forward and to the left of Green. To his right the navigator ran the numbers again and reploted the path the ships would take. Up a tier and to the right of the forward navigational station the ConComm station was manned by three operators and a section commander. They were busy relaying real time telematry to the other ships of the squadron. Green saw the first of the massive rocks growing before him. The without any noticeable effects the rock vanished as the fast corvette pulled up and over the rock as full speed. For once the inertial compensaters were doing their job. Green had been the commander of the first Sloop to come off the line for the republic. It had issues with the compensators which resulted in half his crew needing med leave for three weeks. With the stunt they were about to pull he needed them to work. Not just work but work well.

The ship rolled and did a nose down dip below a second rock then banked left to avoid a third. Green tried not to watch the display out the viewport for fear of becoming nauseous from watching the exhibition. He knew it would not effect him physically but it was the mental part he was afraid of. At one point he looked up out at the rock in the distance growing forever larger and saw one of the other sloops pass by in front of him like a streak and top the rock just as the 111 did the same. The three ships rolled in and out of the field dodging asteroids at top speed.

"Sir Alliance formation twenty klicks out. ETA three minutes." said the navigation's officer who was frantically maintaining his calculations and ploting for the movement of the rocks the three ships were maneuvering through. Green thought about the second squadron out there somewhere doing the exact thing he and his group were. Captain Jerl had boasted that his squadron would beat Greens by at least three minutes. IF he held up his claim they would be arriving to support the Alliance group now. Green somehow doubted they really had but he awaited seeing just who was indeed the first to the Commodore.

RWS-107

The 322nd Rapid Deployment Squadron had moved into range of their active sensors and began pinging the enemy ships in the distance. The ship were just outside long range weapons range and if Captain Lonida had anything to say about it they would stay that way.

"Captain there is just too much interference. Long Range Scanners are getting very little. Too much jamming out there for any real solution plotting." said the tactical station commander. The advanced long range sensors were top of the line but with the amount of Ewar present in the system even they were useless at these ranges. Lonida closed her eyes for a moment hating herself for what she was about to say.

"Helm, Take us in."

RSD Monarch

Reshmar watched a tactical display which layed out what little telemetry they had. Most was the computers estimates as to the plotting and solutions currently displayed. They had a good idea where the enemy ships were not. But as far as pin pointing them for targeting they were more likely to hit rocks.
"Commander, what is out eta to weapon range?" ask Reshmar as he thought about what he would do next. The answer came from a confused man standing at the tactical station.

"Admiral sir, At best guess we are five minutes out, but that is if the closest boogy is where we think it is. We are attempting to bounce a laser targeting beam of the closest ship but as of yet no luck with any return." said the Tactical Commander. He turned to look back at the displays and updating data.

Reshmar frowned, or what was the closest a Mon Calamari came to frowning. His eyes rolled a bit and a slight crease was visible in his checks. That is if you called what he had as cheeks. HE looked out at the ships in the distance growing in size by the second. The ships were burning hard now attempting to close the gap. HE would have preferred to move in slower but the situation in the system was growing untenable and he needed to get in and give the forces there time. A counter in the top left corner of his personnel command chairs display counted down to what was at best an estimate at weapons range.

"Tactical, You have a green light." Said Reshmar as the timer neared zero. The man standing at the tactical station nodded then turned and began giving orders.

"All station, Fire control free, best guess ladies and gentilmen we will be shooting blind. Track bolts and adjust as needed for range and telemetry. Once you have a hit mark the solution Transmit it to all guns and give them everything you got." said the Tactical Commander. He watched as the gunnery crews reported in confirming their orders then turned back to Admiral Reshmar.

"Guns hot Admiral" said the man to the Mon Calamari officer just as the ship shuttered slightly as the hypervelocity cannon batteries came to life.

The RSD Monarch entered the space above them as the Republic fleet closed in on the asteroid field. The smile that graced Ali's lips was bittersweet as she knew what would await her once they made it on board. Immediately the transport turned upward and began hailing the Republic vessel, though their enemies found them first.
"I think it's time for you to surrender." Came the tight-beamed transmission as the fifth enemy starfighter dropped in on the transport's bow. Without a second's hesitation, the transport dumped everything it had forward. The twin autocannons loosed a stream of angry hot bolts toward their forward-flying foe. Then the Human pilot flipped the vessel on its starboard stabilizer and angled for a large asteroid with a hole bored through its center barely large enough for the shuttle itself to fit. The Sullustan dropped the stealth systems after the first volleys cut through the space around and in front of their ship, boosting power to the engines and attempting to force the fighter ahead of them into a rather awkward path. Unfortunately, the pilot seemed prepared for that, though the maneuver would force their remaining attackers to funnel in behind them or spread out and loop around.

Behind them, Ali watched her knuckles turn white as her grip tightened on the pilot's seats, and not from the tossing and turning of the vessel. On the contrary, her footing was rather stable with her boots maglocked to the deck. Her hearing began to fade and her vision blackened along the edges of her periphery, her sight replaced by the images of the dead aboard Nickel One. "So you want justice then." Ali said, feeling the tips of her fingers grow numb as she gripped the seat edges tighter than ever.
A lone figure, mostly shapeless, without sex or race, stepped forward to represent the group of deceased. Amongst them Ali could see the hunched silhouettes of the elderly, the shrunken forms of the young. Family members, friends, comrades, colleagues, coworkers; all seemed represented by the various hues of their forms, many connected to the group, others apart from it.

"We seek only truth." The figure spoke. Ali saw no mouth on the ghostly figure, and though she understood its words, she sensed she only felt them in her heart. The voices existed only in her mind, she realised. "I have no truth to give you." Ali replied regrettably. The words were bitter on her lips, and she tasted iron. "I do not know why they cast you asunder, I know not the hearts of these people." The figure seemed to consider her comments on the Verpine. Ali was no Jedi, but she sensed no true malice in the ghostly gathering. Only inquiry. And a great sadness, one Ali herself shared.
"They are lost in their hive mind, they forget the value of others, as do the Mando'ade," the ghost said suddenly. Ali was surprised by the words; she had hardly any idea to whom she was speaking, to what. "Who are you?" She asked. The figure turned away, looking out amongst the crowd that had gathered in the recesses of Ali's mind and heart.
"We are those who died because the Mando'ade saw it fit to place profit above life."
Ali gritted her teeth. "They did not do this to you. I have the ones who did. One of them is already dead."

"And we would see them dead before we pass on." The ghost replied.
"I will deliver him unto justice, I swear it." Ali promised.
The figure seemed to shimmer brightly for a moment, a glow that strengthened and spread throughout the rest of the congregation before dimming back down and fading away. "You will suffer eternally if you fail." The figure promised. Ali felt a knife twist in her heart, as if something had been planted deep within her mind, waiting to be released should she fail. Were she a Jedi she could describe the experience to others more accurately, but all Ali knew was a sense of duty fell upon her that would persist until Kol'k Oto and the rest of the Verpine leadership faced the justice they deserved.
I will have to kill them. Ali realized. Only their deaths will sate the dead.
As the congregation of deceased began to fade from her heart and mind, the one to whom Ali had spoken became a warm presence in her soul. They had held for her no hatred, but Ali felt a passion burning beneath the surface for the Verpine themselves that would not soon fade.

As Ali was returned to the moment, enemy rounds cut through the transport's hull in a variety of places, and fires broke out throughout the ship. A coolant line burst near the wing joints and a resulting explosion punched out a hole in the reinforcement plating there. Smoke trailed behind the transport and flames licked at its hull from within. With their stealth systems disengaged the vehicle was open to every form of attack, though their pilots were quick to activate their deflector shields, which immediately began flagging under the intense ionized fire cascading down upon their location. Mass driven rounds punched at the hide of the transport, threatening to breach their shields if it maintained its current position amongst their enemies. The occupants enjoyed a moment of respite as the vessel passed through the bore in the asteroid.

The T70 X-wings arrived just as the transport passed through the eye of the asteroid, coming down in a split formation, three and three, releasing everything they had at the four pursuing starfighters. The bored-through asteroid cracked and split as it was struck with a pair of proton torpedoes, clouds of dust and debris expanding out into the space around. Weapons fire continued to explode around the cockpit of the transport, though their rear shields held, for the time being. The T70's maintained their trios as they targeted the four pursuing fighters and launched armor-piercing tipped concussion missiles individually as they came in from above.
Regardless of whether their followers scattered or maintained their assault, the Eidolon transport poured everything into its engines, closing the distance between them and the hangar bay that would be their safe haven.

Elections...Alyona drew up what she remembered of Mandalorian culture and political processes, which was every word she'd ever read on the subject. Mandalorians did not hold elections in the traditional sense, but rather violent contests to determine who would lead their people. As Echani she approved of the process; it tested the mental and physical strength of a being to overthrow their own ruler. Even so, it meant that her opponent, in all probability, was not fully accepted as Mand'alor by the Clans themselves. She wondered if she would be able to use that against him in conversation.

Alyona wasn't given the time, however. As the Gen'Dai launched a fresh attack, Alyona's rebuke came in swift and deadly form. She swung her left foot around and over her right, pushing off with her right leg and leaping into the air to perform a double Salchow spin, her legs close together and her arms crossing her chest. She spun on a stationary axis, rotating away from her enemy which, as the beskar warhammer passed through the air below her, brought her lightsaber hand up toward her opponent's exposed throat. Alyona thrust her free hand out to ward against her opponent's possible grasp and ignited the brilliant green-white blade with a characteristic snap-hiss. It leaped into existence in the space between the chest armor and facial plates, aimed for the Gen'Dai's vulnerable brain hidden within its helmet.

Lieutenant James Holden was expecting the weapons fire from the transport. He had hoped the Republic pilot would have been smarter, but he had expected what he got. As the Republic Transport opened fire on his Rekali Fighter with its twin autoblaster at fairly point blank ranges, the Republic pilot was sure to be surprised by the results of his or her aggression. As the stream of angry hot bolts impacted the front shields of the Rekali, a sizable portion of that energy was reflected back towards the shuttle itself.

Trying to ignore the sudden dip in his secondary shields and that the first layer had been blown through, Holden instead focused on maintaining formation. In his case, that meant staying in front of the shuttle no matter what. As the hostile ship abandoned stealth and poured its energy into speed and agility, Holden did the same. Already fast enough to maintain pace with the smaller shuttle, Holden pumped energy into his Fighter's maneuvering thrusters and shoved his fighter in the path of the shuttle. Behind him, the astromech droid beeped and whaled in terror as they approached an asteroid. <I can make that.> Holden thought to himself. Backwards? Well... he'd find that out in a moment.

-------

Lieutenant Daemona Demona didn't hesitate. The moment the Republic shuttle opened fire, she let loose bolt after bolt from her Beskad Fighter's ion cannon equipped turret. Vaguely, she was aware that her wingman had also opened fire on the shuttle. As had the pair of Rekali Fighters above and below the shuttle... and the Rekali at the rear of the shuttle opened fire upon the shuttle's exposed ion drive. The shuttle banked sharply and made for one of the nearby asteroids.

<Standard maneuver.> Demona thought to herself as she banked her fighter to maintain formation with the shuttle. Being this stubborn wasn't in the Republic pilot's best interest... but Demona couldn't fault the man or woman for trying. "Rekali Fighters break formation and circle around at best speed." Lieutenant Demona said, a comm laser pinging her voice to the other fighters that chased the shuttle. "Beskad and Cabur Fighters will stay on target. Patrol Ships will flank around and prepare to deploy conner nets."

"I'm locked." One of the Rekali pilots said calmly. "We got incoming fighters." A moment later, the asteroid exploded and Lieutenant Demona lost sight of both the shuttle and the Rekali that had been in front of it.

Lieutenant Demona glanced up, her helmet's holographic display showed her six approaching Republic fighters. She knew just how highly the Republic thought of their pilots, and how highly those pilots thought of themselves.

She'd just have to teach them the error of their ways.

"Engage hostiles." Demona said calmly, banking her fighter to face the new threat. Missiles flew from the X-Wing fighters. The Rekali in front of her rolled sideways, presenting as small a target as possible before deploying flares. As the missile approached, the Rekali's nose and tail turret rotated to face the oncoming X-wing, barking out laser and ion cannon rounds at the enemy fighter as it approached head-on. The missile missed its mark, but Demona could clearly see the ship's shields shimmering from the splash damage. A second later, the Rekali kicked on its overdrive engines and raced away, daring the X-wing to chase it. The heavy fighter's astromech controlled tail-turret tracking and firing upon the X-wing as they gained ground. Only to pause as the fighter flipped on its axis and brought all of its impressive weapons to bare on the X-wing... flying backwards as the other Rekali had.

A quick glance at her sensor display told her all she needed to know. Six X-wing analogs were engaging her force. Two Beskad Starfighters, two Cabur MkII Starfighters, and three Rekali Superiority Fighters. The fourth Rekali was either dead or continuing to hunt down the rogue shuttle. The two Cabur MkII Starfighters were laying down guidance jamming on any hostile missiles that popped up, but were otherwise focusing their attention on out-turning the slower X-wing fighters.

Lieutenant Demona smiled as she navigated the mess of maneuvering starfighters, the turret of her Beskad and her wingman's Beskad both barked out ion cannon rounds as they tried to out-turn the X-wings. She knew her fighter was slower than the X-wing. She knew she couldn't out-turn it. But while the cocky X-wing pilot was feeling good about lining up that perfect shot, Demona was already killing her forward thrust and whipping her ship around on maneuvering thrusters.

Her ship might not have ray shielding, or the powerful retrothrusters of the Rekali, but it had beskar for days. And she knew how to drift.

Demona laid down on the trigger and sprayed mass-driver rounds at the X-wing that had been tailing her while laser bolts slammed into the beskar-plated nose of her fighter.

--------

Talia Naast all but ignored the dogfighting starfighters. Her crew activated the point defense systems and multiple quad-mass-driver-flak-cannons opened fire on the small republic ships as she passed them. Twin shots barked out from her proton cannon and six shots came from her plasma cannons, each aimed at one Republic starfighter or another. Beside her, four Cabur Patrol Ships likewise abstained from the combat. The odd shot was fired from a turret towards a republic fighter as a target of opportunity presented itself... but their mission was to capture the shuttle. And the Talia's fighters were more than capable of dealing with what the Republic had sent at them.

And so she continued to race after the shuttle. It was far more visible now, and one of the larger fighters was staying near it.

------

Lieutenant James Holden hadn't been expecting the asteroid to explode as soon as he had passed it. Likewise, he was more than a little surprised that he hadn't managed to get his fighter stuck during the maneuver. Regardless though... he had managed to keep himself in front of the shuttle, weapons and prow pointed towards the suborn renegade.

His astromech droid beeped at him... they both noticed the fighting that had broken out in the wake of the exploding asteroid.

Whoever he was chasing... however important they were... Holden couldn't afford to play nice for much longer.

Pointing his comm laser at the shuttle once more, Holden sent one more message to the Republic Pilot.

"Hey. I just met you. And this is crazy. But here's the deal. Surrender or die."

Finger held tightly against the trigger that would cause the obliteration of the badly damaged shuttle, Holden waited just a few more seconds for their response.

<Don't make me destroy you.> He thought to himself.

What was it that Master said about serenity? Whatever words of wisdom that the lumbering Iktochan had imparted to him quickly evaporated as he focused at not hitting things. A task made doubly difficult in an asteroid belt by the streams of incoming weapons fire from a myriad of craft. Jinking and juking his freighter around, Travot relied as much on his innate precognition to avoid attacks as much as he did on the ship and the rest of its crew. Even so, the Osprey's hull seemed to shake constantly under the intense laser fire and micro-meteoroids that inhabited the belt. Rami finished the longest string of curse words that Travot had ever heard uttered from a jedi's mouth.

"Travot, we can't keep this up. We need to think about getting out of here...shield strength is well...let's say it's not good..."

Travot fought the urge to glance at the ship's readout, but his attention was needed elsewhere. A particularly violent attack from one of the strafing bes'uliik fighters rocked the vessel before the lighting went out. Travot half expected it to flicker back on, but the cabin remained dark. Only dim light from the ship's panels and the weapons fire from the battle illuminated the ship.

"I'm not sure that I want to know what's going on..."

"You don't...it's more than just the lighting...get us out of here."

"We still have a hyperdrive? That's good."

"Still functional...and the course is plotted."

A salvo of incoming proton torpedoes suffused the cockpit with a cerulean glow. Travot tapped the firing stud, sending out his own torpedoes into the mix. The resulting explosion briefly blinded Travot in a billowing cloud of fire. As his vision began to return, the Osprey suddenly careened under the impact of an unknown object. Travot's organs shifted around in his body as the inertial compensators struggled to fight the strains of the sudden maneuver. Travot could hear a crackling sound deeper from within the ship followed by a howling whistling sound. Decompression...time to abandon ship...

Coherent thought escaped his consciousness as pure survival instincts took over. He scrambled to his feet, jumped into the escape pod. He felt Rami's body slam up against him. Without much thought, he tapped a button, and the escape pod jetted away from the Osprey to hide the rocks and the chaos of the ongoing battle.

It was bright. Terribly bright and Jack had to swerve as debris and mini suns were exploding blossoming towards the Pride. Their own shields were knocked out by the ever engorging proton sun emerging from below them Travots last shot had Jack scrambling to bank the freighter. But she banked and hard, spiralling into a thicket of asteroids.

"We got asteroids!"

"Duh kid! Keep on those guns! No surprises!"

Jack ripped around the bottom of one asteroid, flipping end over end to avoid a second and burned full blast back towards the fleet. The Skira was where he needed to get. If this fight was gonna go on he'd need a refit and refuel, reserves were dangerously low. Somewhere out there the Squadron he was leading was pounding what was left of the Nickels One's Mass driver cannons.

"Rogue One to Angel two, headed to the Skira for Refit and Refuel, will be back in thirty. Next target...."

Jack paused scanning the targets available on the Tac Map in his HUD.

"Next target is enemy fleet engaging. Standby."

As they burned closer he was already transmitting to the Skira.

"Rogue One to Skira, requesting emergency landing for refit and refuel. Access codes to follow."

A few more tentative seconds went by beofre the comms crackled, lighting up Jacks eardrums.

"Roger Rogue One, Skira flight control has confirmed. Make way to hangar One Alpha. Chief Tyrill Kandossii will be your Deck Chief. Happy hunting ner'vod."

"Alright lets do this!"

And they brought her in, gouging the decks with their blasted landing gear....

Vilaz began lowering his weapons when the Commander approached him with no weapons at all. Jaccer's men acted the same way when they obeyed Jaccer's command. "Men, lower your weapons. He turned his attention to the Commander and said to him, "I will have a platoon of my Warriors escort you to a shuttle so you and your men can get off of this asteroid. They will not mistreat any of you at all, since they all have honor. Fly safe, Commander." With that he signaled a platoon of armed Mandalorians and ordered them to escort Jaccer and his men with dignity and respect. Once that affair was over with he would continue his march with Elijah and his men.

"Fleet, engines at all ahead full, angle fifteen degrees down bubble, relative to the system. Hold course for one eight zero second, then cut engines and come to forty-five degrees up angle relative.." She ordered, having her ships dive under the system, then go on a ballistic course as they aim in the general direction of the Mandalorian ships. At the present courses, it would likely take a little while for the Alliance ships to be able to take the Mandalorians under their guns again.

Vorhi smiled as he felt the scales of the force settle to an equitable balance. Ali would now see the suffering of the damned. Whether or not her arrogance, or the arrogance of the Mandalorians, would suffer for this, was now up to fate. He walked down the hangar, focusing through what could best be described as the singular worst headache of his life. The exertion and withdrawal of literally thousands of dead ghosts. Felt like a hover truck full of eels and wire--he could taste the metal for some reason--had hit his brain, then left if on the side of the road.

A less stubborn man would've died. A wise man would've died, satisifed at all of this. Vorhi Alestrani, Grandmaster, Fallen Templar, Ascendant Knight of the Order of the Hidden Fist, and worst karaoke singer in four systems, was the right combination of lucky, stubborn, and stupid. He walked, slowly, watching the two combatants duel over ownership of the hangar, or the station, or some other dumb thing. He focused. He did one of the things he'd always been good at. Force enhancement. Forcing his body to perform well even under the worst conditions. He grinned. He approached. He cleared his throat, less than thirty feet from these two.

"Alright, so which one of you do I get to play with when you're done sparring? I'll wait nicely."

One of the death watch soldiers lunge at him from behind. Vorhi, instead of turning around managed to smack him square in the head with his gourd. It was fairly inglorious. A trained warrior of the death watch, rebuked with one blow by some drunk. He shrugged. "Okay, guess the kids want to play first. Bring it."

He cracked his neck. Loudly. About time he got some freaking exercise. All this sorcery and vague prophecy stuff was making his legs fall asleep.

If the lady did, indeed, perform a double Salchow jump over the sweep of a 7 foot tall Gen'Dai's arm, then that would place her feet at or near the level of her opponent's head. That being true, it was unlikely that she'd be able to thrust her lightsaber toward the gap between the chest and face plates, as that assumes the thrust is coming up from below.

Even were those physics possible with human anatomy, the fact is that the weight of the besk'ar war maul as it swings to one side requires a counterweight to avoid throwing the Gen'Dai off balance. That counterweight being that Tralik had stepped off to the right with the centrifugal force to avoid staggering. Thus, he was already off the center line when any strike came -- either from above (more likely) or below.

Ducking his head back, the Gen'Dai had taken two steps back as he brought the war maul back to a neutral guard position, held in both hands. His helmet link pinged with an incoming transmission.

"Mandalore, the Mando'ade are massing their forces. It may be prudent to withdraw before they realize we're here."

With power and speed that was akin to Jedi prowess with Force Speed, the Gen'Dai had leapt away, hopping inside of a nearby shuttle. As the canopy closed and the repulsorlifts fired up, the man brought two fingers up to the mouth piece of his helmet to blow the lady a kiss as he blasted his way out of the hangar bay.

This was good news; it seemed that Jaccer and his unit were going to leave this battlefield after all. "Thank you Field Marshall. In return, if I ever see Vahn again I will mail him to you personally. That behaviour is not acceptable in any situation." This was no lie from the soldier. If Cloudburner had the guts to show his face anywhere in Republic territory once again Jaccer would come after him but it seemed fairer to let the Mandalorian's decide his fate as it was their trust he broke first.

With the negotiations finished, the Lieutenant would return to his squad and inform them of the situation. Once they dropped their weapons, in order to avoid any potential problems, they would follow the platoon the Field Marshall assigned to them. It would be long now until Jaccer was back in Republic space, put his feet up and attempt to forget about this whole situation.

Their weapons sparked across each other, each refusing to give into the will of the other. While she wasn't entirely swayed by his illusions, they did a fair enough job of disorienting her. Keira took a step backwards prematurely, nearly losing her balance, striking out with a blast of the Force directed towards him as retaliation. Quickly she righted herself, not striking back at him right away and instead measuring him up as an opponent first. Mentalism wasn't a factor she had been prepared for, and for a split second she found herself wishing she had asked one of the men to bring a ysalamir along. But she would make it work, as right now she had no other choice.

Within the next moment her grip on her saber tightened, and she stepped forward into a flurry of strikes meant to overwhelm and push back one's opponent, forcing them into the defensive. Meanwhile, the divide between her men was short of an even split, with about half of them being swayed under the influence of the Shadow Demon, while others eventually pushed their way past that mental fog and continued to push forward and fight as ferociously as before.

The laser cannon bolts loosed by the Eidolon transport reflected back in part off of the shields of the enemy starfighter. The temporary overload of energy in the forward shields caused an explosion in the rear section of the transport. A power line burst and caught flame as it was overloaded by the incoming ionized energy. The starboard engine faltered and the vehicle began to lag. The Eidolon ceased firing immediately as the pilots exclaimed in shock and confusion. Their attacker similarly held fire for a brief moment. The other enemy ships had already broken away to engage the Republic X-wings, allowing the Republic pilots to pour the vessel's energy into the bow shields. Ali slapped the Sullustan on the shoulder and shook him reassuringly. "Just keep focused on the warship above," Ali ordered. "We can do this." The comms sputtered and a voice sounded throughout the interior of the ship. ::Hey. I just met you. And this is crazy. But here's the deal. Surrender or die.::
Glancing at the vessel's status display and checking the maneuvers of her support fighters, Ali had the Human maintain their bearing and speed as best they could. She keyed the commlink and prepared to surrender to the foreign ship. "Cease fire, cease fire! We're not as crazy as you think!" She called out. "We yield!" The RSD Monarch was closing in at several hundred meters, though it wasn't firing due to the enemy's proximity to Ali's vessel. "Our ship can't take any more damage, we're shutting down now."
Ali deactivated the mic then patted the Human pilot on the shoulder. "That bought us some time, bring our speed down, but keep the shields up." The pilot nodded, then followed Ali's instructions. The Eidolon transport began to slow and its weapons powered down, giving every impression that the vessel's occupants were prepared to surrender.

Nearby, the dogfighting Republic support fighters broke their trios, opting for pairs as they made to chase away the attacking enemy ships. Daemona Demona would not find herself chased, rather, her pursuers broke away as soon as she turned tail and fled. The fire she loosed at the X-wings would trail off in a scattered, inaccurate manner as they turned away, missing their targets for the most part. Two of those T-70's from Team Two linked up and targeted Lieutenant James Holden as they came in on his port side. They fired their laser cannons set to paired fire and their proton torpedoes in a staggered pattern to beat out enemy countermeasures. The first one or two were intended to be caught by flares or chaff, though the third and fourth missiles ought to reach range after the countermeasures had been dispersed.
The third T-70 met a partner from Team One nearby as they looped back toward the Eidolon transport. The remaining pair of T-70 X-wings would run escort for their partners attacking Lieutenant Holden, keeping an eye on their sensors and tracking enemies that swooped in to attack their partners or the stealth transport, ready to break away at any moment.

As the pair of T-70's swooped in on the starfighter holding the Transport hostage, the RSD Monarch locked onto the vehicle with a tractor beam and began pulling it up toward the nearest hangar. The vessel around Ali shook as it was pulled away from the enemy fighter. Hoping their shields held long enough to make it to the hangar, Ali grabbed both her pilots and urged them to abandon the cockpit. "We've got to get out of here," she ordered, leading them to the rear compartment as the transport began to slip through the shields of the Monarch's nearest hangars.

Alyona completed her maneuver with a crouch behind her target that ended in a swipe that struck nothing but air. She immediately lifted her blade to counter, but saw her opponent soaring through the air away from her. The Gen'Dai clambered into the cockpit of a nearby shuttle, closing it on himself and fleeing through the shields of the hangar. Alyona watched him leave, quelling the excitement in her mind and chest. She didn't know why her enemy was fleeing, but she could only guess it had something to do with the armies he had brought to Roche. Concern for the remaining civilians awaiting transport flared in her mind now that the immediate threat of the Gen'Dai was gone.
As the screams of wounded civilians along the far sides of the hangar reached her ears and the fighter's focus began to fade away, Alyona was brought back to the present. She deactivated her lightsaber and returned it to her utility belt, then swiftly gathered the Republic soldiers and reestablished the evacuation of civilians from the hangar via their remaining transports.

As the crazy mandos decided to withdraw for some reason he couldn't be bothered to ask, that left him alone. With the Jedi. He didn't really want to fight the jedi. He was bloodied. He was drunk. It was time to take a nap. "Well, that was certainly the most fun I've had while dressed in a while," he mused sarcastically, ignoring the fact that he was only half dressed, as his robes were entirely gone. Not important.

He walked up a ramp into a ship. He walked over to the first aid kit on the small ship, popped it open, slapped a bacta pack on the cut on his arm, threw ten credits in the med kit box, and sat down. He retrieved the crumpled packet of cookies from his belt and ate them. He then did what every hero would do. He promptly lost consciousness. G'nite everyone.

The Chronicler hoped that the next invasion would have a good epic for the ages. There was a good chapter in here, though.

Mantic took another step forward. He had been given time to prepare himself for this fight and his mind was set for combat. He recognized that they underestimated his capabilities. Mantic had been trained since the year of four for one purpose, to be a warrior, a jedi Knight with a sword in hand to protect that which the Order deemed necessary to protect.

He was now here to aid the Republic that was declared a focus for the jedi order. He felt the hatred grow in both [member="Ember Rekali"] and [member="Falcon Gyndar"] and while he had no proof of it he determined that it was a lost cause to speak to them any further.

He was not in a good position for this fight, they were two and the older mandalorian wore an armor equipped with several surprises, no doubt about it. He felt the sour shoulder from the shatter gun as proof of it.

To Mantic the force often appeared as a web with threads running wildly around for various purposes. He had seen the threads around these two mandalorians grow darker and more corrupted by the minute. It was a terrifying thing to behold in itself but now he sensed the connection of the jedi that he had tried to approach earlier. She had died and she was somehow connected to these two.

Having this perspective he detected the younger one lashing out transforming a thread, twitching it into something else.
For a moment Mantic was not sure but [member="Ember Rekali"] appeared to grow, claws dripping with toxin slowly extracted from his fingers, piercing his armor in a most fou way. Mantic blinked and shook his head. [member="Falcon Gyndar"] had used his wits in a skillful manner, albeit Mantic was not unprepared for a mental attack and kept his calm for the time being.

Raising his hilt he collected himself. They had [member="Faith Balor-Organa"] captured and she had to be saved somehow. Maybe if he could hold out long enough, or distract them to split them up he could stand a chance.
He knew the risks of him leaving the fight alive were dim but duty held him in check.

It was now that his ear piece came to life.
Reports about Republic forces retreating, jedi knights fighting alongside the Mandalorians?

He looked up at the two again. They were of the dark side, foes that had to be considered evil in Mantics mind. But he knew that the dark was at its strongest when emotions enthused freely, and here the dark side was growing in power rapidly.
Something terrible had happened and it fueled Roche with abhorrence and loathing.

With the Republic forces signaling retreat, Mantic took a careful step back, not leaving the two with his eyesight. If this was happening Faith must be far away, or hopefully saved by others. There was no telling. But it was clear that the Jedi Order was in a turmoil about something and Mantic did not know what to belive at the moment. A second passed, then logic took him to the decission to follow the Republic command.
He leapt high up in the air, forming a backflip using the force to propell him further then gravity would allow - landing on the far above balcony overseeing the area. It was his escape route.
Mantic hoped the leap was high enough to prove a too much a challenge for the younger mandalorian who felt less powerful then his older counterpart and that might give the older one a headache on what to do.
It would hopefully give him the time needed to flee. Casting one final glance at the enemies he then hit the side panel of the balcony door and entered it disappearing back into the depth of the station…

Hey, sorry for the wait. I hate to leave threads hanging but I am hoping you are ok with Mantic getting away in this fashion.

Not much of a fight but cheers for trying ;)
