Deep in the reaches of THE SLICE, a jungle world marbled with dense rainforest, deep gorges, and winding rivers sparkles against the pitch of space. It’s here, on AKIVA, that the infamous BLACK SUN SYNDICATE is hosting the first of many underground podraces. Publicly, the event fronted by the First Bank of Nar Shaddaa and it’s clients within the Hutt Space Corporate Exchange, but anyone with reliable sources in the underworld knows who really pulls the strings…

Operating from the shadows once again, Black Sun has arranged the first of many illegal racing events. Their debut is a dangerous track that follows a serpentine river running through Myrra Valley on the jungle world Akiva. Two objectives are available for participants to choose from: the race itself, and an open-ended social set in Myrra City.

Proposed start date: Wednesday, June 17th

In order to participate in the race, you must pay an entry fee of 5,000 UCs to the First Bank of Nar Shaddaa

Alternatively, you can enter at a reduced rate of 2,500 UCs with the sponsorship of a corporation or other such entity. The sponsoring entity must provide the remaining 2,500 UC balance, or put up a factory submission of its choice to be included in the grand prize pool.

Entering with the sponsorship of a Black Sun Vigo will waive your entry fee altogether.

*Entities wishing to simply sponsor the race without backing a racer may do so. Simply send your contributions to First Bank of Nar Shaddaa

This race will use the original Hoth ruleset, with slight modifications in the form of a +/- modifier to represent the presence of natural hazards.

This race has three legs and will run for three laps, totaling a minimum commitment of 9 total posts per racer to complete. Dice rolls with a d20 will be utilized to encourage competition and dynamic RP.

A full copy of the ruleset will be provided when the thread begins.

The grand prize of this race will be 50,000 UCs + 50% of collected entry fees + any collateral provided by sponsors.

In addition, the winner will receive a custom podracer designed by the Hutt Space Corporate Exchange (semi-unique factory submission with full permission to customize).

All participants will receive a custom flair.

I'd prefer if all players used the same dice set, ideally on-site in the thread or in a designated OOC thread. If rolls are going to be scattered across different sources, I think I'll sit this one out as a competitor.

That said, the setup looks very nice! Maybe I'll join the thread with someone as a spectator instead. <3
