- The standard C1 is outfitted with a suite of weapons equally well-suited for the nonlethal suppression of crime and rebellion and the termination of hostile wildlife and pirates/bandits/angry tribals - such weapons are likely to be less effective against a heavily armoured fighting force, however, as they favour firing speed over stopping power. Some drones, especially ones employed by militaries, carry small missiles to compensate.
- Response Time: Both fast and agile, C1s are designed to respond to threats within their sphere of influence within "minutes or less", assuming proper coverage of charging stations and a sufficiently sized fleet of security drones.
- Expendable: While not quite as cheap as, say, a B1, C1s are still very much expendable.
- Flight Time: Designed to operate within a comparatively small area, C1s have a flight time of only a few hours under optimal conditions.
- Lightly Armoured: Sacrificing armour for speed, C1s are unlikely to survive even a single bolt from a military-grade blaster rifle, let alone a similarily powerful shattergun/slugthrower; you can forget about them surviving even momentary contact with a lightsaber.
With the current state of the galaxy, the business of colonisation is riskier than ever - not only does one need to worry about angry natives, greedy pirates and inhospitable biospheres, but also about government-sanctioned raiding, bloody wars, and hordes of genocidal aliens.
In its wisdom, Globex commissioned the C1 singularly to combat the former threats, designating the latter as a "lost cause".
Whether zooming through the hallways of the Wall in pursuit of a common thief or soaring above the treeline laying down suppressive fire against natives who realized that the colony's baubels were not quite as valuable as initially assumed, the C1 quickly became associated with the Globex brand as a symbol of security or corporate greed, depending on who you ask.
The fact that Draxin is willing to sell these drones to just about anyone certainly hints towards the latter.
