SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Invisible: The Ori'akar can bend light, sound and electromagnetic waves around itself , and is capable of raising and lowering the emitting temperature to match its environment nigh on perfectly.
  • Sensor Augmented Calibration: The Ori'akar uses the sensors of the platform it is mounted to further fine tune it's stealth features. Additionally, it also calibrates itself further to each user by 'learning' from each moment it spends active. This virtually eliminates flickering from rapid movement environmental factors present in the base Akar model.
  • Completely Invisible: The system functions to hide equipped gear and weapons as well, not just the user and their armor. Unlike the Akar, the rapid movements of stabbing weapons nor the potential viscera on them are likely to compromise the ori'akar, not if it's been properly calibrated in any case.
  • Resilient: The system's housing is well protected against kinetic, energy and ion/EMP damage.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP/Ion: Because of the complicated electronics, should any EMP/ion damage manage to bypass the various protective measures, it will likely be damaged past the point of being able to be repaired outside of a return to the company's workshops.
  • Sensors: The Ori'akar is highly dependant on the sensor suite of whatever it is mounted on to function as a true cloaking device. A low resolution, low quality sensor suite will result in it being little more than a fancy camouflage suite, but a powerful sensor suite will allow it to match and even surpass a Stygium based system.
  • Cannot Be Used With Energy Shields: The system cannot be used in conjunction with personal energy shields. One system or the other can be active at a time.
  • Backup Power: The system is designed to run off a continuous power supply, and as such its backup power supply is only in the case of emergencies. It will last for an hour or two at most under heavy use.
  • Overload: At very short ranges, usually point blank, if exposed to very bright lights, loud sounds or intense electromagnetic waves the system will fail to bend that particular wave. If exposed to all three, the system will overload, shutdown and go through a recalibration and reboot cycle.
DESCRIPTION
"To haran with that stygium osik. It may take longer, but at least ours is based on technology with no material dependence."
- Breshig War Forge Consolidated CEO Shuklaar Kyrdol
"All that testing finally worked out. Too bad we can't get more of these."
- Strill Securities Vuhyr'yaliyr Al'verde Saram Kote

Designed to eventually replace the older Akar camouflage system, the Ori'akar's complicated production and factory calibration have prevented widespread deployment among the company's elite units. Instead, the Ori'akar only sees service with the elite of the elite. The Akar and the Ori'akar are more or less the same device, with very few noticeable hardware changes. The Ori'akar however requires each unit to be calibrated at the factory, and then calibrated by the user, both in a variety of environments before it will function at peak capacity. This also means it's not always popular with the personnel that get it at first, but as the device calibrates, it usually grows on them.
Like the Akar, the Ori'akar bends light, sound and electromagnetic waves around itself, and can also raise or lower the emitting temperature to match its environment. Unlike the Akar, however, this is finely calibrated using sensor data and a vast database of information about various environments, weather conditions and a myriad other factors by the Ori'akar's heuristically learning processor to almost perfectly match the environment around it. In this regard, with an appropriately powerful sensor suite, the Ori'akar can match and even surpass stygium based personal cloaking devices. That said, if paired with a low resolution sensor suite, then the Ori'akar is reduced to nothing more than a fancy camouflage suite.
The Ori'akar's ability to mask both the user and their equipment, including the minimal report produced by the stealthy weapons preferred by the elite rammikade who use the Ori'akar. In that vein, to keep up with the demanding mission profiles of their users, the Ori'akar is a tough piece of hardware, resistant to kinetic, energy and ion/EMP damage. Any EMP/Ion weapon powerful enough to get through is likely to cause damage past the point of repair outside of the company's workshops.
Still, the Ori'akar is not a substitute for skill. At very short ranges, usually point blank, if exposed to very bright lights, loud sounds or intense electromagnetic waves the system will fail to bend that particular wave. If exposed to all three, the system will overload, shutdown and go through a recalibration and reboot cycle. At which point, given that the system cannot be used alongside energy shields, the now compromised user will likely be in a very problematic situation.
