SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Manual Override: The Ga'yusr's functions can be managed manually by a systems operator, droid brain or other compatible computer system if desired.
STRENGTHS
  • DERP: The dedicated energy receptor projector on the Ga'yusr has an extremely high potential to block incoming long-range sensor pings and transmissions broadcast by enemy ships, rendering the craft invisible to most enemy scanners, targeting computers and incoming ordnance.
  • Full-spectrum Distortion Projector: Once the craft has entered combat at short ranges, usually prior to entering a dogfight, the Ga'yusr will activate its full-spectrum distortion projector to potentially block all scanners and targeting computers by using broadband transmissions to interfere with sensors attempting to target the craft.
  • Static Discharge Panels: The static discharge panels scramble communications and subspace frequencies in a short radius around the craft. This allows the device to not only potentially jam incoming sensor pulses but also to jam a target's outgoing signals.
  • Disguised Emissions: The Ga'yusr disguises a craft's drive emissions, delaying the time it takes to lock onto a craft's engines, or pick it up from a longer range.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not A Cloaking Device: Despite the inherent advantages of the system, it is not a cloaking device and doesn't render the craft invisible to the naked eye or to optical sensors at closer ranges.
  • EMP/Ion Vulnerability: If the system actually sustains damage from an EMP or Ion weapon, the circuitry and electronics will fry like a protato in a deep-fat fryer.
  • Too Much Interference: Unless craft have a way to share data to reduce interference from the jammers, then several friendly craft in a squadron all operating the Ga'yusr will all have reduced targeting, tracking, scanning abilities and will find sensor and comms ranges affected.
  • Advanced Sensors: Advanced sensor and scanner technology such as those that detect a ship's magnetic signature or mass detectors aren't fooled by the Ga'yusr.
  • Knife Fight: At knife fight, or dog-fighting ranges, the Ga'yusr isn't really of much use, as most sensors can easily pick up a starfighter, bomber or gunship sized object firing weapons and making rapid vector changes with its maneuvering thrusters.
DESCRIPTION
The Ga'yusr, unlike a number of other sub-projects that came about as part of the development of the Kyr'galaar Multi-role Stealth Fighter and the Jai'galaar Fighter-Bomber, doesn't have an amusing anecdote that goes along with its development. Instead, the Ga'yusr's design came after considerable study of electronic countermeasure suites past and present, and a careful understanding of what was excessive and what was necessary. The capabilities of two old, but extremely popular systems, the 4x-Phantom and the "Screamer" active jammer, as well as the systems made by various Mandalorian firms including a past Breshig Hypernautics model, were deemed necessary to replicate.

To this end, the Ga'ysur does that very well. It integrates a dedicated energy receptor projector, full-spectrum distortion projector, static discharge panels and an emission disguising system. In all, this gives the craft considerable sensor stealth at long and even close ranges, and gives the craft mounting it the ability to jam communications and subspace frequencies in a short radius around it.

That said, like any electronic system, it was vulnerable to EMP/Ion damage, that was if any actually got through the counter casing and overwhelmed the de-ionizer. The system also generated a lot of interference, which meant that if every craft in a squadron utilized the jammer without any sort of data link or data sharing system to compensate, it would adversely affect scanners, communications, targeting and sensors. Naturally, the system was incapable of preventing the craft from being seen by the naked eye or being picked up by optical sensors at closer ranges, and advanced sensors such as those that detected an ship's magnetic signature or mass detectors would not be fooled by the Ga'yusr. Finally, at knife fight ranges, the Ga'yusr's effectiveness is greatly reduced, given that most sensors can easily pick up a starfighter, bomber or gunship sized object during weapons and making rapid vector changes with its maneuvering thrusters.
