PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Composite View: On vehicles, the main sensor readout screen is a composite view of all sensors and scanners that are currently online as well as data coming in from the Manda tactical battlenet. For droids, all sensor data is combined, sorted and a 'composite view' of what can be 'seen' through the sensors is fed to the droid's main processing unit.
  • Manda: The Manda module provides the user with the system's best analysis of enemy tactics, which takes into account enemy positioning, aggression, capabilities, known tactics, fighting styles and current status overlaid onto the user's HUD. The system also creates an accurate and adaptive firing matrix, making real-time adjustments for movement, battlefield debris, atmospheric conditions and other factors. The system can allow accurate tracking and target identification through thick cloud cover, storms and heavy rain, fog, as well as other conditions that might otherwise impair targeting to a severe degree.
  • Advanced Communications Interface (vehicles only): The system interfaces with comlink systems to create transcripts, display transmitted images and recordings, highlight targets indicated by members of the unit, attempt to create a transcript of audio pickups and more, ensuring that ensuring that the user's communication experience is as seamless as possible by providing easy to process real-time information.
  • Sragivagr Compatibility (vehicles only): The system can sync with a vehicle operator's HUD and allow for operation of the vehicle's comm and sensor suite via their HUD, as well as for full customization of said interface.
  • Stealth Mode: Given that the majority of the sensor and scanner systems are active, the inbuilt low-feedback scanner allows users to maintain a low sensor profile by not outputting active sensor pulses that could potentially be detected.
  • Resilient: The system's housing is made from reinforced duraplast and features a combat de-ionizer, making it very resilient against most forms of damage and lessening the likelihood of damage taking the entire system offline.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power: The system draws a lot of power, especially with the entire sensor, scanner and comms suite online.
  • Range: Not all the sensors work at the same ranges, and for those unfamiliar with using equipment like this, it can be easy to forget that just because something isn't picked up doesn't mean it isn't there.
  • Overload: The sensor and scanner suite as well as the Manda tactical battlenet module can be overloaded with too much information, which will force a reboot of the entire system, leaving the user without comms, sensors or scanners for the duration.
  • EMP/Ion: Should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as data corruption, sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure.
  • Active Sensors: The majority of the sensor and scanner suite are all active, meaning that anyone looking for active sensor signatures or indeed using active sensors themselves will likely easily be able to detect the system's emissions.
  • Jamming/Interference: Wide area jamming and/or atmospheric interference greatly decreases the effectiveness and operating range of the entire suite.
DESCRIPTION
In order to streamline production of vehicles and droids, Breshig War Forge Consolidated elected to develop a sensor, targeting and communications package that could be scaled up and down for use on droids as well as ground vehicles. The sensor package itself was a combination of the company's Jai'galaar Sur'haai sensor and targeting suite as well as its Kartayl helmet subsystems, with the applicable sensor, scanner and comms systems from the Kartayl paired with the advanced targeting and tracking sensors from the Jai'galaar Sur'haai to create an advanced and comprehensive sensor, comms and targeting suite.

Usually, reading sensor/scanner readout screens requires a dedicated member of vehicle's crew or takes away from the other duties of the crewmember doing so. As such, taking inspiration from the Kartayl, the main sensor readout screen on vehicles is a composite view of all sensors and scanners that are currently online as well as data coming in from the Manda tactical battlenet. For droids, all sensor data is combined, sorted and a 'composite view' of what can be 'seen' through the sensors is fed to the droid's main processing unit.

Likewise, in order to streamline communications, an advanced communication interface similar to the one made for the Kartayl was installed. The system interfaces with comlink systems to create transcripts, display transmitted images and recordings, highlight targets indicated by members of the unit, attempt to create a transcript of audio pickups and more, ensuring that ensuring that the user's communication experience is as seamless as possible by providing easy to process real-time information.

An additional feature installed to improve productivity and efficiency of vehicle crews was compatibility with the Sragivagr control module, allowing for the system to sync with a vehicle operator's HUD and allow for operation of the vehicle's comm and sensor suite via their HUD, as well as for full customization of said interface.

Another distinguishing feature is the Manda tactical battlenet module. The Manda module provides the user with the system's best analysis of enemy tactics, which takes into account enemy positioning, aggression, capabilities, known tactics, fighting styles and current status overlaid onto the user's HUD.

For scout vehicles, an active sensor/scanner can give them away to the enemy, however operating blind close to or behind enemy lines isn't exactly ideal either, for this reason the suite features a low-feedback scanner, allowing users to maintain a low sensor profile by not outputting active sensor pulses that could potentially be detected.

Finally, the system is housed in a reinforced duraplast case and features a combat de-ionizer, making it extremely resistant to damage from a variety of different sources.

Unfortunately, there are of course a number of notable issues, the first and foremost being with this particular unit rather than with comms, sensor and targeting packages in general, and it is its high power consumption. Not all the sensors work at the same ranges, and for those unfamiliar with using equipment like this, it can be easy to forget that just because something isn't picked up doesn't mean it isn't there. The sensor and scanner suite as well as the Manda tactical battlenet module can be overloaded with too much information, which will force a reboot of the entire system, leaving the user without comms, sensors or scanners for the duration. Should the system actually sustain EMP/Ion damage that bypasses it's defenses, then it can cause all manner of havoc, such as data corruption, sensor damage, forced reboots and even total system failure. The majority of the sensor and scanner suite are all active, meaning that anyone looking for active sensor signatures or indeed using active sensors themselves will likely easily be able to detect the system's emissions. Finally, wide area jamming and/or atmospheric interference greatly decreases the effectiveness and operating range of the entire suite.
