  • Cooling Systems: In order to prevent the large amounts of heat generated by the weapon from melting it, the RHM-04 has an integrated cooling system that will shut the weapon down in the event of it overheating in order to perform a coolant flush and to allow the weapon to cool down. Each weapon has enough coolant to perform five coolant flushes, but can be connected to a larger coolant reservoir.
  • Diagnostics and Analytics Suite: The weapon's in-built diagnostics and analysis suite keeps the crew apprised of everything from ammunition count to accelerator coil integrity and effectiveness.
  • Dual Feed: The weapon's dual feed system allows the operator to select a different type of round without a new drum having to be loaded by the craft's ammunition handling system.
STRENGTHS
  • Accurate: Provided it is paired with the right sensor and fire control systems, a capable operator could make great use of the RHM-04's inherent accuracy in all fire modes out to its furthest range increment.
  • Extremely High Damage Potential: The RHM-04 has an extremely high damage potential against a wide variety of targets made from a wide variety of both conventional and exotic materials.
  • Armor-piercing: Both of the RHM-04's fire modes impart a sufficient velocity to the rounds fired such that their chances of penetrating armor is notably high.
  • Fast Projectile Velocity: Mass-driver rounds fired by the RHM-04 reach an extremely high velocity, making avoiding them a difficult prospect, especially for targets with a notably low maneuverability and speed.
  • Resilient: The weapon itself is partially exposed, and as a result the company made efforts to protect it against all manner of damage that it might be exposed to on the battlefield.
  • Versatile: The RHM-04 is an extremely versatile weapons system, able to take on a variety of differently defended targets with a wide variety of projectiles that it can fire.
  • Rotary Weapon: The weapon's rotary loader assembly reduces the wear and tear on each barrel as well as gives it a higher practical rate of fire.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ammunition: Once ammunition has been depleted the weapon will naturally be unable to fire.
  • Sensor Suite: In order to make use of the RRC-01's inherent range and accuracy, the mounting platform must have a powerful, high resolution, long ranged sensor suite.
  • Cooling System Malfunction: Should the cooling system malfunction or become damaged, the weapon will shut down to prevent a critical operating failure.
  • Rotary Mechanism Malfunction: The weapon will be unable to continue its operation cycle if the rotary loader assembly malfunctions or becomes damaged.
  • Feed Damage: Every round on the weapon side of the ammunition feed damage can be loaded into the weapon and fired but additional rounds will not be able to be loaded.
  • EMP/Ion Damage: The RHM-04 is well protected against EMP/Ion damage but resistant doesn't mean impervious. Due to the sensitive components necessitating such a high degree of protection in the first place, any EMP/Ion damage that gets through will likely cause the weapon to cease functioning or to seriously malfunction.
DESCRIPTION
An upgraded version of the original RHM-04 used by the company, the new revised RHM-04 is largely the same weapon in purpose. Retaining the older weapon's operating principles the new weapon brings a whole host of new rounds and a pair of new fire modes that allow the operator to switch between a longer-ranged setting and a shorter-ranged higher fire rate focused setting, with the former more useful for picking off fleeing targets or alpha strikes and the latter proving more practical for short-ranged dogfights.
The weapon retains the older model's same fantastic accuracy and damage potential and increases the weapon's muzzle velocity. This does provide the added advantage of hampering evasion attempts by targets, particularly those with a slow speed and low maneuverability.
Rather than the older model's rotary barrel system the new weapon uses a new rotary loader assembly and longer barrels. This does carry the same issues as the older rotary barrel system but offers the same advantages. The new model features the same cryoban cooling system that keeps the weapon well within operating temperatures during operation, but still features the safety shutdown in the event that it is damaged or malfunctions.
The new range of the weapon does however require a powerful, high resolution, long ranged sensor suite. This does limit the craft that can mount it, but the company believes the additional capabilities are well worth the price.
All in all, the refreshed RHM-04 is a notably improved weapon over its predecessor which was certainly a deadly weapon in its own right.
