Blood In My Veins

Viathae Qarmast

Mandalorian Exile Jedi of Clan Qarmast
How peculiar... there was Mandalorians here.

Great. The last thing she needs.

But maybe... they could actually be a useful stepping stone to her path of a peaceful galaxy?

It was pretty strange, considering that it has been long since she had seen her own people... but out of all places, why does she have to see them here? On a peaceful world that would want to have nothing to do with war? Apparently, Viathae's mentality on other Mandalorians had not changed. Sure, she might of gotten along with the honourary members such as Lady Kay, but these Mandalorians... they still had a rather sick taste to her mouth. Especially the fact that she dons the armour of a Mandalorian that was from one of the first Mandalorian Jedi initiated into the order.

No... she can't hold on to the past like this. Especially with the experiences of her own clan, and the horrid things they had done to those poor people back on Wayland. Maybe Mandalorians are not all violent people after all... But she still had her suspicions. Viathae would come to the area, donned in her Mandalorian armour, as per usual, with a rather suspicious glance in her eye raising her hand. She needed answers. She needed to hear their point of view.

For a while, she had been standing there and observing, but she felt as if she wanted to speak before he went on to the question of Revan. Yet again... she could just do-

"If yah do not mind for a moment, I myself wish to ask you a few questions, Mantis, and this is very important to my curiosity of our own culture, in which, is Mandalorian." Viathae's voice sounded just like a Concord Dawnian for a moment, as she was indeed getting to that serious voice that she had. "Why are Mandalorians still keen on persisting to keep their extinct-driving culture that is to continuously fight among eachother -- that is, if you can even refer it as culture? Is it even worth spilling our blood over things that we should be protecting? Do the Mandalorians themselves that form from the shadows to destroy eachother again, think that, by continuing years old traditions, that we'll be continued to be viewed as nothing more than glorified barbarians?..."

Preliat turned his head towards the woman who entered, then spoke. He tapped his fingers on the podium, before speaking.

"It is interesting how you speak of the Mandalorians- as if you aren't one yourself. Or at least, you have yet to leave the culture behind." He stared at her again, trying to maintain his composure.

"After years and years of everything, what do you view the Jedi as? For being born of the Mandalorians, you seem to lack an understanding of what it means to be a Mandalorian. It may seem to some that it was barbaric in the past.. yet to the Mandalorians at the time, it was honorable and just."

"As for the recent events.. you seem to have forgotten what drove us to war in the first place. You would be angry if a particular group of people attempted to destroy your world under the guise of benefiting your people. That is why the war was fought. That is why brothers killed brothers. That is why Mandalorians died."

He paused for a long moment before speaking again.

"That is why I killed my best friend. The war tore my people apart and you speak of it as if it were petty tribal warfare." He stared directly at the woman still.

The smile faded and she was sorry to see it go. There would have to come a time when he let it go or it would eat him for the remainder of his days. Surely his encounter with Maeve an now with her would lead him to understand that they while grieving their loss, were doing their best to honor all the things that Ordo had stood for. She waited to hear his answers to all the questions.

She sat quietly though listening to everyone. This is what did her spirit good to hear the voices of others a reminder that she wasn't alone. How does one simply leave their heritage? They don't its always there always part of you even if the symbols and beliefs of it are not worn for all to see.

Preliats remarks however brought Rianna's attention back to him. Yes he was right she knew it. Civil war family against family. It saddened her. Yes Preliat had killed Ordo. If she knew Ordo he probably told him to do it quick, told him it was their way, and held nothing back. A Warrior to the very end, even Maeve told her that it was quick and that she had gotten it from the Wolf herself.

Rianna closed her eyes not allowing her emotions to tear through her again. She couldn't. Those were private for her, her Clan, and those who chose to grieve with them.

"There is nothing ever petty about civil war."

The Mando'ade Civil War wasn't about clan against clan. Clans had been split. It was about how a few people decided to destroy their home, when all it did was destroy them all. Drive them apart as a people. It accomplished nothing but pain and sorrow for them all.

Viathae Qarmast

Mandalorian Exile Jedi of Clan Qarmast
So this was the Mandalorian that came to teach the Silvers about what it means to be Mandalorian eh?

Hm. He's smarter than most she had met.

Viathae knew that she'd get a response like this. However, the words he stitched together, does not sound like a typical Mandalorian blocking her out. No... this one's different. The way he presented his argument is very well presented as a starter. She was rather impressed with the way Preliat was speaking. Viathe glanced at his eyes as she heard him spoke, and allowed him to finish, listening to his points, and prepared for her own statement.

"The Jedi had their own upbringings, but had since, learned their lessons." she said to him. "The Jedi had their fair share of struggles for the past thousands of years. From being militaristic, to a council, to becoming generals again, to becoming purged and banned, on the verge of extinction, to once again reforming, and falling apart, to not being heard about during the Dark Ages, up until now, where we stand. The Jedi are however, known for change, and learning their mistakes. That is the Jedi way, to learn from your mistakes, and improve on them. Harmony is the key to the light." Viathae then paused for a moment to catch her thoughts and breath, and bought up the Mandalorians after defending the Jedi. "The Mandalorians themselves were no cleaner. Our people crusaded, killed, murdered, maimed many of innocents, over one man's legacy, to spread a culture of that similar to a primitive raiding civilization. Yet, even though despite the fact we fought a war against eachother, and divided, my question still remains. It didn't have to come to this, but our culture is greatly tribalisc. To continue on the path of war and destruction is not the Mandalorian way, nor -- it ever should be considered such."

She breathed a bit, thinking about what she just said. At this point, she was ranting, for there was many things she had that was against what the current situation of the Mandalorians was. Her people, fighting eachother.

"I do agree however, that we do have a right to defend ourselves, yet. But yet, you killed your best friend. A person you'd call kin, and you don't consider the war being petty tribal warfare? Of course it is. We can't continue the path we are going down. Peace is what we need to acomplish here, right? And what's better more than to become neutral? I'm sure the idea sounds extremely crazy, and just out of this universe, but there is..." she didn't wanted to use the word "hope", for she strongly detests that ideal, for it came from a band of fools who believed that destroying an evil empire twice, can bring immediate peace. "... unity."

Unity... that is all she ever wanted. Not just for Mandalorians, but for everyone. "Should we really continue conquests of worlds, where it would bring more Chaos and dispair, further tarnishing our reputation? Or should we think that maybe, neutrality, and a sense of pacifism would be a better idea for the future of our people, and our reputation? Not saying to lay down your weapons completely, but... defensive pacifism? Have you ever thought about that?"

She then stopped her mouth for a moment and stood down.

"My apologies... I spoke too much."
