  • Wait, what: R-series Astromech Droids are some of the most ubiquitous of their type throughout the galaxy, yet they are rarely, if ever, armed, giving the Blastromech Droid the element of surprise
  • Small target profile: Blastromech Droids are quite small and relatively hard to hit
  • Droids don't complain: Blastromech Droids are perfect for guard and patrol duties, as they never get tired nor do they lose focus
  • Copilot: Amazingly, the Blastromech Droid can still "dock" into Astromech Sockets aboard starships if needed, though they are no longer as useful as a "base" R-series Astromech Droid is
  • Locomotion: Blastromech droids can hover brief distances thanks to their inbuilt Rocket Thrusters
WEAKNESSES
  • Weak: Blastromech Droids are quite poorly armored and are easily destroyed by even the weakest of attacks
  • Slow: Since they were never designed for combat, Blastromech Droids are quite slow moving
  • Short ranged: The Blastromech Droid's Mk 1/W Twin Light Blaster Cannon is only effective at short range, forcing the droid to engage targets at close distance
  • Loss of versatility: The removal of the Blastromech's rotating head unit has removed with it some of the droid's previous versatility
  • Not a threat: Enemies may choose to ignore the droid or simply run past it, which the droid is unable to prevent from happening
DESCRIPTION

Once of the most serious issues facing the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant is its chronic lack of manpower, though this has been somewhat alleviated by Mahporeem's ascension into the Imperial Confederation. Nonetheless, the Imperial Remnant continues to look for ways to increase the amount of military assets that it can muster.

Enter the "Blastromech Droid", a modified Astromech Droid that has seen its rotating head unit removed and replaced with a Mk 1/W Twin Light Blaster Cannon. Blastromech Droid are employed by the Imperial Remnant as guards and sentries, freeing up more important troops and units for battlefield purposes.

Of course, Blastromech Droids are, in effect, rather poor combatants overall, and the removal of their rotating domes has somewhat reduced the amount of versatility that the droid is normally supposed to have. Had the Imperial Remnant not have been so desperate, the Blastromech Droid probably would have never been built in the first place.

  • Wait, what: R-series Astromech Droids are some of the most ubiquitous of their type throughout the galaxy, yet they are rarely, if ever, armed, giving the Advanced Blastromech Droid the element of surprise
  • Heavily armed: Advanced Blastromech Droids are particularly heavily armed, sporting rotary blaster cannons and missile launchers
  • Armored: Advanced Blastromech Droids are also quite heavily armored, able to survive an inordinate amount of punishment for a droid of their size
  • Stealthy: Each Advanced Blastromech Droid is covered in a a layer of Reflec, giving the droid surprisingly advanced stealth capabilities
  • Producer: Advanced Blastromech Droids are capable of producing additional missiles for their missile launchers once they exhaust their onboard supplies
WEAKNESSES
  • Expensive: Compared to most other Mahporeem designed droids, the Advanced Blastromech Droid is exceedingly expensive, especially when equipped with N&Z Umbrella Corporation components
  • Physically weak: Though it carries a variety of powerful onboard armaments, the Advanced Blastromech Droid itself is quite physically weak, and liable to being destroyed in close quarters combat
  • Slow: Though it is quite advanced, the Advanced Blastromech Droid is still quite slow moving, since it is originally based on an R-series Astromech Droid
  • Heavy: The Advanced Blastromech Droid is quite heavy, especially for a droid of its size, which can make transportation across long distances surprisingly difficult
  • Specialized: Because it is so heavily geared toward combat, the Advanced Blastromech Droid loses much of the versatility that a standard R-series Astromech Droid possesses
DESCRIPTION

"Blastromech" Droids are by definition and nature, designed to be inexpensive and expendable, performing duties such as being guards or sentries. This is to free up more important and advanced units for other tasks. However, the Imperial Remnant has developed an advanced variant of the Blastromech Droid, one designed to support troops in open combat.

Far more heavily armed and armored than a standard "Blastromech", the Advanced Blastromech is correspondingly more expensive, making its deployment rarer than most other Mahporeenian Combat Droids. When these droids are deployed in the field, it is generally only for the most serious of reasons.

Each Advanced Blastromech Droid comes equipped with a variety of powerful weapon systems, including rotary blaster cannons, missile launchers and even an internally mounted flamethrower. Advanced Blastromech Droids also come equipped with a total of six Hardpoints, allowing them to equip nearly any sort of weapon or piece of equipment that they might need.

Of course, this does not mean that the droid is not without flaw, as Advanced Blastromech Droids are still quite slow moving and rather heavy, not to mention that they are abysmal melee combatants. Nonetheless, Advanced Blastromech Droids are fearsome foes for any enemy to face, whether or not they are organic or mechanical beings.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Back Mounted Chemical Tank
  • Front Mounted Pesticide Sprayer
STRENGTHS
  • Robust: The Merzoidian Agricultural Droid is designed to be both robust and durable, making it a supremely reliable piece of equipment
  • Bane of weeds: The Merzoidian Agricultural Droid is designed to eliminate weeds and other garden pest with its Front Mounted Pesticide Sprayer
  • Capacity: The Merzoidian Agricultural Droid is capable of holding a copious amount of pesticide within its onboard Chemical Tank
  • Versatile: In addition to pesticide, the Merzoidian Agricultural Droid is also capable of spraying liquid fertilizer
WEAKNESSES
  • Not a fighter: The Merzoidian Agricultural Droid has zero combat aptitude, being nearly completely useless against any sort of conceivable threat
  • Weak: The Merzoidian Agricultural Droid has virtually no armor, and is unable to survive even the lightest of attacks
  • Slow: Because it is designed to be methodical, the Merzoidian Agricultural Droid is quite slow moving as a direct result
  • Trample: If it is careless, the Merzoidian Agricultural Droid can accidentally trample crops and flowers, though its footpads are designed to be as low pressure as possible
DESCRIPTION

As Mahporeem has become increasingly industrialized and polluted, the native Merzoidian population has encountered immense difficulty in maintaining the delicate ecosystem of their planet. Farming on the planet, in particular, has become nearly impossible, and the few areas that can still be farmed often require intensive mechanical assistance, such as through the use of Merzoidian Agricultural Droids.

These Agricultural Droids are designed for a singular purpose: to disperse pesticide or liquid fertilizer over any area that they walk over. On most of Mahporeem, it is essentially impossible to grow anything without the use of these pesticides or liquid fertilizer, making the use of these droids on most Merzoidian farms an absolute necessity.

As they were designed specifically for farming, these Agricultural Droids are essentially useless in any sort of fight, as they are both slow moving and fragile. The Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has played around with the idea of turning these droids into mobile chemical weapon sprayers, but so far all attempts to do so have ended in failure for one reason or another.

SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Ready to rumble: All Gladiatorial Gonk Droids come equipped with a circular saw arm and a swinging axe arm, allowing them to engage in melee combat
  • Mobile charger: Like all GNK-series Power Droids, the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid can function as a mobile power generator
  • BOOM: When sufficiently damaged, the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid can initiate a self-destruct sequence and explode, taking out anything nearby it
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow: Like all GNK-series Power Droids, the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid is incredibly slow moving has has nearly no agility whatsoever
  • Fragile: Even with its additional armor, the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid is quite fragile and easily destroyed in combat
  • BOOM: When the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid self destructs, it does not discriminate between friend or foe, targeting anything within its blast radius
DESCRIPTION

Droid-fighting is easily one of the most popular pastimes on all of Mahporeem, second only in popularity to the sport of Podracing. The idea behind Droid-fighting is simple: two droids that were not originally designed for combat engage in battle with one another until one or both of them are destroyed. This means that most Class-four droids are directly prohibited from engaging in any sort of Droid-fighting.

As such, the droids that are permitted to engage in the sport tend to be heavily modified, as is the case with the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid. These GNK-series Power Droids still retain the ability to act as a mobile power generator when needed, though this is no longer their primary purpose. Instead, these droids are expected to fight other droids with their circular saw arm and swinging axe arm.

When suitably damaged, the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid can self destruct itself by overloading its battery charging system, taking out anything that is to slow to escape its blast radius. Of course, this is generally a move of desperation as like all GNK-series droids, the Gladiatorial Gonk Droid is incredibly slow itself and is easy enough to avoid. That being said, this can catch opponents off guard, as most would never expect a GNK-series droid to act as an explosive device.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Various Droid Components Built Onto a Single Frame
  • Salvaged AA-1 VerboBrain or Similar Processor
STRENGTHS
  • Fluent in 6 million forms of communication: Hundreds, if not thousands, of different languages are spoken on Mahporeem. The Junkyard Protocol Droid is capable of translating nearly all of them
  • Mind your manners: Junkyard Protocol Droids, like all protocol droids, are specifically designed to have both good manners and proper etiquette for dealing with guests and VIPs
  • Knowledge repository: Junkyard Protocol Droids are capable of storing vast quantities of information, giving them vast knowledge on most kinds of subjects
WEAKNESSES
  • Quirky: Even more so than their factory created cousins, Junkyard Protocol Droids tend to develop "strong" or "unusual" personalities that might be off putting to organic beings
  • Useless in combat: Not only are Junkyard Protocol Droids nearly useless in combat, they are often a liability due to their tendency to make loud remarks at particularly inopportune times
  • Slow and Fragile: Junkyard Protocol Droids are quite slow moving and susceptible to being damaged
DESCRIPTION

For most of its existence, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has had little use for protocol droids, as it has been isolated from the greater galaxy for hundreds of years. With Mahporeem's ascension into the Imperial Confederation however, a massive demand for protocol droids was essentially created overnight. As these types of droids are in short supply on Mahporeem, the Imperial Remnant has decided to create its own protocol droids from scratch.

The resulting Junkyard Protocol Droids have been programmed to fulfill many of the same functions that standard protocol fulfill, such as translating the various languages spoken on Mahporeem, entertaining and escorting guests around the planet and storing important information about different alien cultures in their databanks. These droids seem capable of fulfilling these tasks quite admirably, despite their rather "ad hoc" nature and various droid components.

That being said, many of these droids tend to exhibit rather distinct personalities, and their general mannerisms and speech patterns can be quite off putting to organic beings. Despite their various personality quirks, Junkyard Protocol Droids have become indispensable to the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, regardless of how much they may annoy those around them.
