Blast from the Past [CIS]

The Galaxy was a vast place, and it’s history was a long and twirling tale that to some extent was lost in those dark years which gave birth to the Galaxy as it’s current inhabitants knew it. But sometimes relics of this ancient history would arise, and sometimes these relics were in fact sentient.

That was the case with the Droid [member="UBD-028"], an ancient relic of the Confederacy of Independent Systems of yore. Discovered by the Confederate Marshal Keva’Sol’Loro on the world of Ord Pardon. It was hurried and hasty message back to Geonosis that more or less “heralded” the arrival of the Droid.

The young Marshal herself had not been present for the greater showings, instead continuing on with assigned tasks. Suffering such a diversion, to little shock, had sent the Chiss into a more urgent state of finishing military exercises and the other similar tasks given to her relatively small force of Droids: instead the mighty droid who had referred to himself as “Kaz” was left at the mercy of other Confederates.

The message, inherently, was intended for the militarily minded of the Confederacy: to examine this weapon of war and find a good use for him within the iron legions that formed up the Confederate Droid Army. But such was not it’s limits, scientific minds, historians, any were more than able to come and witness the Droid. Within a military complex in the seemingly endless expanse of Golbah City the Droid had been left within one of the rooms of the Complex, just as amusing as it was somewhat awkward those that had come to see this relic of history were simply “stuck” in a rather dull room with themselves and the droid. Like some sort of carnival.

Of course, with none of the restraints of one. And it did not take a genius to see the power that this relic possessed in it’s metal body.

UBD-028

"I PERFORMED VIOLENCE."
The eerieness of the room was normal to the droid, having been in isolation for a couple of millenials and sat in a factory before being shipped off, he knew the feeling. The UBD's slick factory figure was strong and tall, hitting the ceiling and having to scrunch down to fit in the room, he had a green factorial cover up, that was heated to his skin, unlike pain that could chip, it was more of a heat applied skin which formed to his coated metal body. It was a glossy green and light on the eyes, but still gave the beast of a droid a devastating appearance. The shoulder launchers showed in a triple hole sequence held missiles that could damage a small attack star ship, a personal one at best and star ship armor with ease. Having feats such as being able to blow tanks into pieces with a single missile, it was the good ole days of the CIS. The droid shaking off the memories that had plagued his memory core, Kaz was made to be a perfect killing droid to win the clone wars, but during the early days of being released, some malfunctions had stopped them from being deployed, that of course was the density projector that had problems and caused them to be recalled, though even the early days he got his worthy kills worth of jedi opponents, they were meant to shred and combat them afterall, the strength of four wookies combined with the arsenal the Ultra Battle Droids had, they were a one man army at most.

His photoceptor lens scanned the room as he sat, his strength being untested, it was scary. Though having never tested this droids strength it was confirmed it could kill Jedi's and other beasts with ease, even going as far as to be able to rip apart a tank in seconds and flip a tank with ease, it was well assured the droid could handle its own. Its mechanical limbs crossed against his green chestplate, the ruby photoceptor scanning the vents in the room, the droid was honestly bored, and had begun to do a factorial weapons check on its body, its plasma launcher twirling lightly as he ran it through with his specs, making sure the weapons were on safety as this happened, clearly unaware if he was going to be walked in on and observed.

The Viceroy of Kalinda always made sure to keep informed of whenever an old droid from the clonewars would somehow makes it way back to the Confederacy with most being B1 Battle Droids and BX Commandos but today was something different for today it was one of the extremely rare B3 Ultra Battle Droids. Kyber couldn't seem to find any infomation on any other pre Gulag Ultras being found functional in his records.

Kyber went straight to Golbah city to meet this relic. The reflec coated shard entered the room flanked by two battledroids from the Black Steel Guard. For a few minutes Kyber said nothing and only studied the gigantic droid with his blood red photoreceptors.

Kyber finally decided to speak to this relic and fellow combatant of the clone wars "It has been a long time since This One has seen a B3 Ultra from the clone wars. This One wonders if That One still can be a threat to Jedi and their allies like That One would have been during the clone wars." Kyber's vocabulator would then change to a more mocking tone "Or has That One become the same as all the other reactivated clone wars droids with a hundred different bugs and glitches deserving of a mind wipe before being reintroduced to the Confederate Slave Droid Army."

Kyber was hoping that this droid had a little personality and not have been a factory new droid that hadn't even gotten its first taste of battle before being deactivated and left alone for hundreds of years and a great way to see was to see if it was possible to get under the droid's servos.

"I PERFORMED VIOLENCE."
The hulking mechanical beast sat hunched in the room as he ran a check on his factorial weapons, his aching mechanical limbs came to sit against his long lengthy legs that had under coats of cortosis to ensure the droid didn't become a heaping metal of lightsaber strikes. His green glossy color was clean, no dirt had shown, it was cleaned up for presentation for who might have come to see him, and fixed up a bit with some of spare parts there had been in storage to ensure no mechanical or internal faults had happened, they wouldn't want a thirteen foot droid rampaging throughout the base with active weapons that could go off at any time right? As the shard entered the room, the UBD's torso lightly inclined upwards to see the droid. His photoceptor lens scanning the red lens glare showing as it pulled data from baseline records, a clicking coming from his memory core as he tried to record information on this being, its stance, what weapons it had, how it talked. Kaz was always observing-..always

UBD-028 listened to what was being presented, almost scoffing at what he heard, it was true, the droid of his kind was able to kill Jedi with ease almost like killing bugs, but they were expensive, which had also made the CIS decline in units past that. A huff came from the droid like a bull would give off, the mechanical huff was vocalized with a deep tone of a B2, but scratchy, and riddled with age, it almost held a sadistic tone to it as if it was playing with the other droid in the room. "You should watch what comes from your processors, I may be riddled with age, but this unit will make you meet your maker." The B3 said plainly as he stood up, literally being pushed up against the ceiling as he stood, probably a few feet taller then all the droids in the room, which only added to the hulk of a being its raspy mechanical voice of a B3 speaking again. "This unit may be old but there is plenty ways to make a sentient being like you to feel pain." The droid said hinting at something deeper as he moved forward to let the droid inspect himself, its frame was nice and sturdy, a strong frame of cortosis outlining and plating, a force not to be reckoned with.

The droid had a personality for sure, maybe it was a glitch that had let his servos make his own personality, it was hard to pinpoint. The rocket launcher was installed in his shoulder preloaded with missiles that would automatically reload through his armored body, even the missiles were cooled so it would ensure they didn't blow up inside him, Kaz let his mechanical limbs against his body as he hummed standing still for the other to inspect him, near his shoulder plate the name 'Kaz' was etched in barely even able to be seen. If only this droid was back on the field, it surely would help out the CIS as a whole, or even act better as a body guard unit for any type of officer, the plasma rotaries sat inactive against his mid torso attached to his back ready to blast away anyone that opposed him, they had some light specks of dirt on them showing how frequently they were used.

"I am nothing but what use to be of the Confederacy during the clone wars, a being of ancient time." UBD-028 stated his voice reverberating deep within his chassis as he spoke, ringing throughout his body and in the room. Perhaps he needed a tune up, his joints were squeaking, maybe even a oil bath, and perhaps a new coat of paint for the droid.

It took little time for Kyber to conclude this droid was not like others of its kind. This droid had a spark of personality and what seemed like a sense a pride. Kyber could tell the droid knew the little game he was playing and going by how it responded the droid intended to join in. One thing was certain despite the droid's body being old its mind was not. "This One can tell how strong a young droid like That One is despite being housed in a relic. The cortosis addition to That One's chasis brings out the jedi killer..

Kyber did feel a bit surpised when the droid had referred to him as a sentient as if the droid did not view itself as one and somehow knew Kyber wasn't a normal droid. If it did know Kyber was a shard then its skills at observation are unmatched by much as Kyber isn't sure if some of the Exarchs know he is a shard but then the signs are somewhat obvious. "This One is sure That One can think of many ways as can This One, but does That One not consider itself as a sentient for That One is clearly smarter than some sentients This One knows."

That was when Kyber noticed the name on the droid's. Now it made sense why Kyber couldn't find any records of the droid being found by some Confederate expedition force for it must have been active before the CIS found it. "So That One known as Kaz, This One must apologize for not introducing This One's self. This One is known a Viceroy of Kalinda Kyber. Now tell This One who gave That One the name of Kaz for most droids normally never get a non numerical name without someone's input." This droid has peaked Kyber's intrest and may serve as a useful ally.

"I PERFORMED VIOLENCE."
The large droid only continued the silence as it looked down on the droid, hearing its statement nearly made it laugh. "This One can tell how strong a young droid like That One is despite being housed in a relic. The cortosis addition to That One's chassis brings out the jedi killer.." leaning forward the droids torso photoceptor continued to lightly scan the droid taking note of how it spoke about itself and himself. "A jedi killer I can be, or a army destroyer, whatever name is best suited you can use." The ultra battle droid stated looking at the guards it took with him, scoffing at them, the mechanical scoff echoing in the room, "Guards? If this unit were to attack they would be futile and burning heaps of metal within miliseconds." The droid said simply before changing the subject. His mechanical joints creaking everytime he were to move in a different direction then before.

Sure Kaz was observant, but he also knew how droids carried themselves, they weren't like Kyber, droids were clunky with movements, atleast most were, and took the most calculated route rather then go something as straight forward as this was, his thinking soon came to a end as he listened to the droid with the guards, "This One is sure That One can think of many ways as can This One, but does That One not consider itself as a sentient for That One is clearly smarter than some sentients This One knows." Kaz leaned forward, "Incorrect, you are not but a droid, you are something else, something that wishes to seek out others for allyship, if you are such a droid what is your factorial number?" The droid asked before leaning back continuing to observe the droid, Kaz didn't think much of the so called 'droid' but he didn't know too much about him either, he just made the assumption

Something clicked inside the droid as his name was mentioned, something old, as he heard the name he straightened his posture a bit before leaning forward, it seemed he wasn't called this name in a while. "UBD-028 was a normal factorial droid who experienced battle before being trapped during his last mission resulting in a scavenger finding him and reactivating him, UBD-028 took care of this man until he died of something named Cancer, he was given the name Kaz for his service to the old man before finding Marshal Keva and ending up here, Marshal Keva left Kaz to strangers." Kaz said with a disappointed tone still keeping his gruffness in his mechanical voicebox with its unnatural deepness.
