Hollis smiled her thanks when Justice set down a glass of wine for her. And then it dawned on her that this was the first time she'd ever brought a boyfriend home. There was a giddy burst of affection for him that made her heart beat faster.

She bit her lip as he took a bite of the food. But when he complimented her cooking, she couldn't help but burst into a wide smile. For some reason, it made her feel a bit better to know that he'd go to Ilum with a filling meal in his stomach. Her smile faltered though, when he started to cough and choke in response to her question.

"Y-you okay?" she asked, about to jump out of her seat to pat him on the back. But he recovered and took another bite. Phew. Canting her head to the side, she thought about the holofilm title. "I haven't seen it. Let's watch it!"

Once dinner was through, Hollis would collect the dishes and set them in the sink... where they would sit untouched until the next day. Now, the two would have a chance to settle in and watch a film. Hollis seated herself on the lounge portion of the couch, where Justice could sit, too – there was plenty of room. She pulled the knit blanket up over herself and offered to cover him up as well. Her gaze softened. "This is... cozy, isn't it?"

She reached for the remote to the holo unit... and also hoped that she didn't discover any more stray undergarments hiding in her couch cushions.

Dinner had been exactly what Justice needed. Most of his day had been spent working on the ship and preparing to leave to the point he had neglected himself. He shouldn't have done that. A saying his master would often say when he got engrossed in his work.

“Forgive you the force will. Forgive you, the body will not.”

Just wanted to roll his eyes as he could hear the sound of his own master’s voice in his mind. They had been together for a short time, but to Justice it already felt much longer. They clicked, very much in the same way Just felt he clicked with Hollis. Granted, Just did not not have romantic feelings for his master, but there was a bond with both, and the Jedi would not deny that.

Hollis cleared the table, while Justice made his way to the sofa. A smile pulled at his lips thinking about what had just happened about an hour ago. He stifled a chuckle when Hollis joined him, feeling a little nervous as she seemed to cuddle right into him.

Justice awkwardly put his arm around her to pull her closer, unsure if this was what he was supposed to do. The only other times he had watched holofilms with anyone of the opposite sex it had never been in such an intimate setting. Whether he was supposed to or not, he wanted to, so he did.

He took the offered part of the blanket and made himself comfortable. Just nodded. It was definitely cozy.

Mhm,” he answered.

The film began to play, and whether it was his full stomach, or whether it was the fact Justice was more than comfortable, his eyes began to feel heavy. Usually he would be so nervous about the battle that his mind would keep him awake all night. Just should have been wide awake, staring at the ceiling, but instead he was wrapped in a blanket with Hollis Orenn. Everything about it felt right.

So right, that by the time the film was over, Justice was sound asleep. It was another first for him, sleeping before a battle, but it was also the first time he had not spent that night alone.

Hollis sank into the couch and into Justice, letting his arm wrap around her. With her head nestled between his shoulder and neck, she let her arm wrap around him. Yes, all of this made her blush quite hard... but they'd basically already established that they were a couple, even though neither of them had said it out loud yet. Angling her head up slightly, she stole a small glance at him. I could get used to this, she thought, smiling.

When the film started, she settled quietly and watched. She could imagine Justice in a similar scenario as the hero of the film. Based on their expedition to Tython... it actually didn't seem that far off.

Even though she was enjoying the holofilm, she was also getting sleepy. Justice's breaths were deep and calm, his presence around her was safe and comfortable. He was warm, too. How she wanted to give him a small kiss and whisper goodnight...

Her eyes closed.

And in the morning, when he stirred... he'd find Hollis' arm holding him even tighter.

His sleep had been peaceful. It was the first time before going to war that Justice felt truly calm. Sure there were still some things he worried about. Having Hollis next to him did not make anything about leaving easier. It only made it more difficult. The irony was that having her close made it safe to sleep, but dangerous to leave. He needed to go. It was the right thing to do, but he did not want to.

Most of the night was a blur as Justice began to stir. He remembered the dinner, arriving at the apartment and finding… oh yeah… he definitely did not dream that part. He began to stretch and was reminded that he had not slept alone that night. Hollis had fallen asleep on the couch with him. It was early, and even though he wanted to stay right where he was, duty demanded otherwise.

Justice did his best to work his way out from the tangled mess of blanket without waking the woman who had her head on his chest. That was the hard part. There was part of him that wanted to wake her, to say goodbye, but he also wanted her to get her sleep. It did not make sense for both of them to be awake at such an awful hour.

He began to slide his boots back on. Justice was going to have to sneak to his quarters for a quick shower and a change of clothes. Quietly he moved his way around the couch until his walked his shin right into the small table in front of the sofa.

“Shat… that hurt,” he said as the noise of the crash was certain to wake up Hollis. He looked her direction, rubbing his leg. “Morning.”

Just was wearing a disgustingly sheepish smile.

Sleep usually came easily to Hollis. And last night, it had been like simply closing her eyes and falling into a dream. All through the night, she'd taken immense comfort in Justice's presence -- his scent, his warmth, and his arm around her. The sleeping woman stirred only slightly when he slipped away, though her arm reached for him and fortunately found a pillow to hug instead.
Then, a noise jolted her from sleep.
"Just?" she asked, blinking heavy eyes at him. It took a good long moment before he came into focus, but when he did, she could see that his boots were already on. He was also rubbing his leg. Hollis realized with a sinking dread that it was already morning. He was getting ready to leave. She sat up on the couch and pulled the blanket around her shoulders before standing up. "You were gonna say goodbye, right?" she asked in a quiet voice.
He didn't have to answer because now was his chance.
Moving close, she wrapped her arms around his midsection and nestled her head against his shoulder for a moment. Hollis knew that if she dragged this moment out... it'd only be more difficult for both of them. And though she desperately wanted him to say, she didn't want to be selfish. She didn't want him to feel bad about leaving. So, when she drew back slightly, it was with a gentle smile that was just for him. Her hand came up to press against his cheek, where it remained for a moment as she lifted up onto her toes again to kiss him. The force flowed around them, too -- their auras mingling together.
"See you soon," she said when the kiss broke, even though she was left a bit breathless.

Was it a smart idea to tell Hollis he had not planned on saying goodbye? The smart thing would have been to stay quiet and let the situation she found him in be the answer, but Justice was too honest and too inexperienced for his own good. He shook his head.

“I was going to let you sleep. You seemed at peace.”

She came close.

“I didn’t want to make it…”

Hollis shut him up with a kiss. He had not wanted to make it harder on either of them than it needed to be. This, this was making it harder. Justice pressed into the kiss, pulling Hollis closer out of some newly discovered instinct. His eyes closed as their force aura’s danced about each other. Every interaction, and every touch, seemed to be knitting them closer together.

It made goodbye hard.

Hollis pulled away.

“See you later.”

Justice nodded, letting his forehead rest against hers for a moment.

“Yeah.”

He did not want to let go, but did so reluctantly. A mechanical finger lifted her chin as he stole one more small kiss.

“I’m counting this as like date number three. We can go on number four when I get back. Maybe you can see my place next time.”

Justice was stalling, but finally took another step toward the door.

“Crash into you soon!”

He took one last look before walking out the door.
