Beach Day [SJO, Allies, LS]

Indeed the world of Kashyyyk was known for the ancient Wroshyr trees, but there were places where the impressive tree lines and rocky mountains touched against water and sand. The beach. While the Silver Jedi did make there home here, it wasn't every day that they enjoyed this sea-side scenery. There were blue waves, stretches of warm sand, and a few docks that reached out into the water. But, today was something of a special event, and the area was decked out in celebration.

Beach day!

What a way to welcome the spring and summer seasons. There were grills for cooking, games for playing, and a long line of lounge chairs ready for relaxing. And with the warm, sunny weather, could anyone really ask for more? Well, there was more, actually – a couple bartenders manned a bar, marked by a couple of lit torches. Here they were already mixing a variety of colorful and fruity alcoholic beverages, each one topped with little paper umbrellas. There were also tropical fruit juices and sparkling waters that were being served in small, hollowed out pineapples.

The Order had been busy expanding, growing. It was time to find a little rest and relaxation.

All SJO members are invited, as well as our allies and fellow LS! Come celebrate the warm weather, relax, and enjoy a fun, light-hearted thread. We still need a grill master, so feel free to take on the job, if you're up to cooking for the masses! :D

Celeste Rigel and her young son made their way down the path that led through the dunes. The pair were quite ready for a day at the beach. With her arms full, Celeste attempted to keep hold of all of their belongings – a tote bag that carried a picnic lunch and snacks, two beach towels, a large blanket, a basket of sand toys, and sunscreen.

“Atticus!” She called ahead, “Wait for me.”

There was a stern note to her tone, a true mom voice if ever there was one. Pausing for a moment, her three year old looked over his shoulder... and then took off for the sandy beach. Goodness... Moving swiftly, Celeste picked up the pace to catch up. Her dress billowed softly about her ankles, and she could already feel the warm sand flitting about her feet, clad in open sandals. In the process, her sun hat nearly blew off.

Just as she reached the beach, a few of the sand toys slipped out of her basket. Turning, Celeste looked down... and then looked back towards the path, where she'd left a trail of colorful sand molds and small plastic shovels.

“Oh, blast.” She muttered, ready to drop her things... but she figured it'd be best to find a place to situate herself for the day first. The beach stretched out before them. Perhaps this was as good a place as any...

A beach party.... ehhh it seemed strange but whatever she had found purpose. The church of the force supported the jedi order regardless of it. THey believed they were needed so she remained there off to the side. Staying around some of the other people who had come from the jedi temple at the three daughters. The sand moved as she brushed some of it aside and set down one of the blankets made from skylar that would keep the sand away. She crossed her legs and sat there as the few who were with her sat in a circle. THe atmosphere reminded her of school when she had briefly went and turned out to be a party school compared to the monument to education it was supposed to be.

Aside from the beaches of zeltros, stardust hadnt been to a beach in awhile much less the beaches of kashyyk! Besides that ot was a chance to interact with the jedi and such on a more casual level something she had been greatly lacking in

However, she wasnt coming without bringing something from the party planet itself, she brought some of the best drinks the planet had to offer several kegs full of wines, spirits, and alcohol ready to be served even if the venue provided already

As for herself, she looked out among the sand, sporting some casual beach wear as she took a deep breath and let it out enjoying the smell of the water and the warm air on her skin

Today was something that Caedyn sorely needed, a chance to get out and relax a little with [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], as well as possibly getting to better know some of his peers within the Order of the Silver Jedi there on Kashyyyk. Beaches weren't exactly what came to mind when he thought of the Wookie home-world, yet they were none the less a splendid sight to behold as the Sun reigned down warmth overhead and justified his choice of apparel for the day, a plain light brown t-shirt and a pair of black denim shorts.

Only recently had he decided to join the Silver Jedi, and it was a transition that was going to take it's time making sense to him. The Je'daii had been vastly different in how they looked to the Force and where they chose to position themselves when it came to politics and galactic powers, yet in their absence, Caedyn's sense of moral justice hadn't waned and he knew that the Order here had been fighting the good fight, informed on much of the noteworthy news by Asaraa herself when they had the chance to catch up prior to his coming to Kashyyyk. Now, he imagined she were much happier with his being around full-time. His father on the other hand was still something of an obstacle to avoid, however.

While he had been waiting on Asa, someone had asked him for a hand. Being who he was, naturally he had agreed to help them unload a few boxes of supplies meant for the days feeding, only then to find himself standing behind a grill and smiling to himself sheepishly as he poked and prodded a good selection of meats as they sizzled away and attracted all manner of wide-eyed younglings with growling stomachs. Thankfully, no one had an apron in sight, yet it didn't stop him from looking about for the one guilty of convincing him to 'temporarily' man the grilling station.

"They could atleast have brought me a drink...".

Starchaser was exactly what he said he was. A wanderer, and a Jedi. Starting out as a pilot who found himself going from star to star, he was chasing down something in his life. Sometimes it was the Jedi, sometimes it was helping rebels, and defeating the tyranny that was out there. He was the one who found Summerset and spent a lot of time on the more tropical Levantine worlds. That was, before the galaxy went to hell in a handbasket.

Then he had to do what he knew. He fought. He challenged the dark side head on. And he still was doing that, but he was realizing, and more just being forced into it, that there were good times? And to enjoy them. The Outer Rim Coalition, Jedi Praxeum, and Silver Jedi Order? They all provided him respite from the wars he found himself in. And with the Alliance-in-Exile seeking to reclaim Sullust? He knew his path was going to change again.

The Jedi had set down on Kashyyyk, as he had been doing often lately, and when he heard where people were headed? He made his way down. A bit stripped down once he arrived, sure, but this was a day off. Sunglasses with a too on-the-nose Alliance gold frame, and swim trunks, the Master found himself a spot on the beach and a drink. Waiting to see who was going to arrive, he noticed Celeste struggling with carrying everything.

A grin from where he was, he didn’t even flinch. A bit of a tightening of his eyes and a little focus, and there would be a POP! around Celeste. The items she had would have shifted, sand attached and all from where they were down to casually close to Coren.

He didn’t want sand in his drink.

A shake of his head to clear that bit of Force use and he gave a sly wave over to Celeste, with a smirk.

The tempting smell of a hot grill coupled with the inviting sound of joyful voices carried far with the ocean breeze. With only a few clouds lazily drifting across a clear blue sky the sun was able to beat down its age old rhythm with little impediment. Elyane slipped her bare feet into the warm sand, taking a deep breath of the salty sea air. The atmosphere was perfect for a beach party, not that Elyane had ever been to or seen a beach before. Half an hour had gone by where she simply stood, taking in the crystal clear water and marvelling at how far it seemed to stretch with the horizon. The sound of wroshyr trees creaking gently, the soft crash of waves as they cast themselves over the bright white sand, the way the water gleamed as it caught the fiery rays of sunlight. She had been entirely entranced from the moment she stepped into view of the shore.

No matter how strong her desire to sit at the edge of the beach all day was, Elyane had finally worked up the courage to throw herself into the throng of happy faces. Ordinarily she would have considered herself somewhat of a social butterfly, but this was her first time meeting the members of The Order of the Silver Jedi. She was nervous, to say the least, and she couldn't spot Horus anywhere along the shoreline just yet. It appeared that, for the meanwhile, this was one of the rare times she'd have to brave something alone. Her feet moved steadily across the shifting sand, taking her away from the cool shade of a particularly vibrant wroshyr tree. In the bright streaks of sunlight the bottom of her feet felt like they had been plunged onto a searing hot frying pan, but she still moved with a slow, purposeful gate.

Her best bet seemed to be the bar that looked to be handing out a variety of drinks. She couldn't help but think that a little bit of liquid courage would go a long way on a day like today. Not wishing to be rude or close herself off to any other conversation whilst she waited for her friend, Elyane picked a bar stool in the dead centre of the long bar. Now directly in the suns burning gaze she was more grateful than ever for the fetching two piece that Horus had picked out for her. A willowy finger caught the attention of one of the bartenders, who promptly served up the most colourful drink she'd ever laid eyes on. After a sip or two she could feel her muscles relaxing, feel the strains of anxiety melting away in the burning heat. She needed this. They needed this. For once the only goal was to enjoy herself.

Celeste's pile of stuff sat on the sand, and she went along to collect the things she'd dropped along the way. Her eyes scanned the beach, immediately finding Atticus' small form running about with some of the other younglings. And, they weren't alone, thank goodness – Knight Ilana Marsh was there looking after them. Celeste found tension in her shoulders relaxing away slightly. She gave a wave to Knight Marsh, and was about to make her way back to her things...

When there was a rather strange noise, and – her things, along with the sand they sat upon, folded out of sight. The healer stood, blinking at the now empty spot before her, grains of sand still shifting.

It was then that [member="Coren Starchaser"] caught her attention down the beach, her items conveniently located near him. Celeste furrowed her brow, but returned the wave. She turned and called to her son, pointing in the direction she was heading to let him know where to find her.

“I'll be just there. Be careful!”

Her sandals took her down the beach, where she found Coren with a drink in his hand. Unfurling the blanket, she spread it out on the warm sand and had a seat. She glanced sidelong at Coren, eyes narrowed slightly.

“I should have known,” She said, “That trick had your name written all over it.”

Losing is tempoary, giving up is permanent.
It was certainly bright today, the pale skinned women's hand rising to shield her eyes from the incoming rays, her complexion made even more noticeable with her choice of attire this day. It was always a nice sight to see, an area still untouched by any man made structures, the pure beauty of nature and a tropical paradise. It was kind of ironic that it had remained that way since the local Wookie population were never really beach people, always staying within their tree cities and deep inside the forest. Kind of a wasted opportunity, but such meant that the Jedi practically had a beach resort all to themselves, a perfect place to conduct a party such as this for the order and their closest allies.

Wanderings down the shore her feat were washed over by the incoming waves, a cold sensation rising up her legs with each passing as she walked closer to the congregating group, smell of cooking meat and other foods wafting into her heightened sense of smell. Her short trip leading the knight towards [member="Caedyn Arenais"] as they worked the grill, noting a small comment of annoyance, "seems you have taken up the grill, certainly smells good". Her reply coming after once more taking in the wafting scent of the cooking meat, there was always something about an open BBQ that made it stand out from regular kitchen cooking... or it was just her vampire side coming out a little bit at the smell of the meat.

When he moved everything, it was mostly just for his own fulfillment. Sure, he had trained among the Aing-Tii for a weird amount of time, a certain bit of time, longer there than it was out here, and that definitely help a bit. What he was hoping for, was that no one else had see what he had done. She could move himself, and a few items, using it in combat at times, but specializing with folding things that already had their fair share of kinetic energy, a starship, landspeeder, telekinetically thrown debris.

The items popped away from her and near him. Sure, it meant her kid was going to be coming, but that was fine. It was a good time today. Seeing her, not running off to some warzone. Relaxing among the Jedi, it was a nice feeling. And when Celeste headed in his direction, he was smiling at her. His eyes tracked her figure, not in the same way it had during spars, but in a bit more… intense?

Focused?

Still, he had to smile at her. “Just an old trick, too much focus at times, so its nothing more than a party trick unless I really need it!” He laughed at her. “Your idea, for the beach?”

"Seems you have taken up the grill, certainly smells good".

Caedyn glanced up to find [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] watching him flip the burger patties, turn the sausages and mind the bacon that was all being seared away by the heat within the grill. The young man couldn't help but smirk as she complimented him on his effort, though in truth the credit wasn't all to be his alone; "Actually I was just minding it for someone...-But I think they've done a runner and left me to it so...Yeah, I guess so?" He laughed softly in expense of himself and glanced back to her thoughtfully; "Some of it's ready if you're after anything?" He asked, gesturing to the variety of meats and then to the tray of breads, buns, salads and a fair selection of side dishes that went perfectly with a good feed.

"Name's Caedyn, by the way!" He said with a chipper tone, rather pleased to be out in such a pleasant environment with friendly people and for once not getting involved in some sort of fight for life in the Galaxy. Truth be told, he couldn't recall if they two had met before though she looked familiar. Perhaps they'd passed one another in the halls of the Silver Rest, or she could well have been in one of Asaraa's classes when he'd come to fetch her. "Thankfully this isn't my first time, so don't worry about the food being spoiled..." he chuckled once more, this time in obvious humor and an attempt to get a rise out of the other, a sort of mock-teasing warning that you'd expect from the men of House Arenais.

There was nothing more relaxing than the feeling of a hot sun on your skin, the smell of salt in the air and the sound of laughter echoing through the air. it had been forever since she'd seen the order shed their concerns and just take the day to relax and enjoy themselves. The pink-haired Jedi closed her eyes for a moment, just revelling in the glorious feeling of the sun on her skin, of the knowledge that no matter what happened today the world wouldn't end. Or...at least she hoped it wouldn't anyway. What kinda threat could possible exist on a beach like this after all? Besides, it was a time to break out the bikini and maybe work on her tan or see what trouble you could upto in the sea...you were only young once right?

Asaraa's nose twitched eyes still closed as she waved her head from side to side. There was a smell cutting through the smell of the beach, of the salt that was omnipresent. The smell of hot coals and cooking meat...someone had opened up a barbecue! Even as her eyes flicked open the girl's feet had started walking towards the source of the smell, her stomach rumbling in anticipation as she glanced down, one hand reaching out to adjust the knot of her sarong as it hung on one hip, the soft fabric swirling between her legs as a smile lit up her face, as two familiar figures hove into view. "He's actually a pretty good cook," she nodded at [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] while slipping an arm around [member="Caedyn Arenais"]'s waist briefly, pulling him into a quick hug. "Me, I can just about manage to chop a salad without help, I swear I'd starve if I was left alone without any technology."

Losing is tempoary, giving up is permanent.
A small laugh escaped her as [member="Caedyn Arenais"] replied about his current situations, she knew that feeling all to well, her brother wasn't below doing such things in the past and present. Annoying at the time, but funny when thinking back on it, "well at least you are doing something productive, certain if you didn't show up we would not have had such a nice spread". Still, she had to wonder who had set up the grill and then bailed, a mystery to solve at a later date, her gaze going back to the cook as they introduced himself. "Yes, I believe I have heard of your before, not sure if we met once, but I know my mother has spoken of you before, something about the Je'daii"? She did not really remember, pushing that line of thought to the side as she continued, "I am Sukai'ito Yumi, but most people call me Sky". She gave a short bow, kind of unnecessary but she performed it regardless, shifting her sight back on the sizzling meat, "don't worry I can sense a good cook when I see one".

She was not stranger to the kitchen, even if her early attempts were not the best, since then her skills had increased, more so with another baby brother to care for. As her hand reached for a slice of bread to take one of the sausages she almost jumped in surprise as [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] came from behind, hugging the master cook. "Perhaps we should give you some lessons Asaraa, can't rely on others to always give you a meal, like what happens if you are in a ship crash, being the only survivor and have to live off the lands, survival styles". "Or you are captured by a Sith L0rd and need to cook a nice meal for him otherwise be killed or worse", her little rant becoming more dramatic and over the top.

Celeste drew a breath, the warmth of the sand and sun felt nice. The sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore was rather soothing. And, she guessed that the tropical drinks would help with that, too. Glancing for a moment towards the bar, she spotted a number of kegs and other spirits – it looked like people wanted a party.

But, the day was still young, and Celeste had a little one to look after.

Shifting slightly, she chuckled as Coren spoke. A party trick? She had a sneaking suspicion that he was showing off, but she merely shook her head, smiling.

“It wasn't my idea, no.” She started, “But I did help a little.”

Celeste's eyes gave Coren a quick look-over, the healer in her kicking in. Of course, she was not trying to be intrusive, it was rude to stare. Shirtless as he was, she could see scars, but there were far less than one might think, especially considering Coren's battle history. He did have a cybernetic arm, she was aware, but that was fairly common these days.

Blinking, she turned her attention back to Atticus, watching him run on the beach.

“This must be quite the change of pace for you,” She said, eyes flickering to Coren briefly. “But, you seem to have settled in well.” A smile formed on her lips. It was nice to see him taking a break from war.

Looking among the beach she spotted a familiar old face, a smile grew as she grabbed a drink and started walking on over feeling the sand between her toes. It was nice seeing old faces again reminded stardust not everyone was gone just I'm different places

either I've gone insane or seeing things but I do believe I see a old friend

She said chuckling as she stopped a few feet away, she looked a lot older then the last time they met

good to see you old friend

It was time to be away from her family, she loved her sister and mother dearly and adored her baby niece, who was just the cutest. However, it was time to relax and have fun a teenager, not weighed down by responsibilities, her training was going as well as it could and Kat was making sure she trained when she could. She was an aunt! That was weird, aunty Katty as her sister tried coining but Kat shut that down fast. It was Aunt Kat or Aunty Kat, no Katty. That was not acceptable to her. However, she still heard her sister whispering her niece, Jemma, that she was Aunty Katty. It wasn't happening with Rose on diplomatic missions now and then for the SJO, Kat was babysitting Jemma and would tell her during that she was Kat, and only Kat. Jemma however, just wants to poke Kat's nose and get hugs. She was cute but Kat still wasn't sure she wanted one herself.

Walking onto the beach, Kat was wearing a white bikini with a simple long, white shirt on top. Looking at some of the outfits, Kat felt slightly overdressed, she just wasn't as confident in her body as others. Sometimes, she seemed more muscular than she thought she should be and there was still her robotic legs that made her shy too. Walking over to the barbecue, Kat waved to Asaraa a familiar face, she seemed to be hugging her partner, someone that Kat didn't recognise. There was also another person that Kat didn't recognise by name but had seem them around the Temple before now. "Hi, I'm Kat, nice to meet you!" Kat said in an upbeat voice, attempting to hide the shyness and nervousness that she felt in the moment. Looking at the food, she could feel her stomach growling.

"Damn, that looks good! I barely know how to cook for myself!" Kat stated as she stared at the food.

The day was young, but unlike what some folks assumed of Coren, he only drank to keep himself more mellow when the time came for it. He wasn’t some high toned and fancy Coruscanti secret agent, working for queen and country, no. He was a soldier, and one who did his best to keep alive, and support the others. His life was built around supporting those who couldn’t support themselves, and protecting.

Any decision he made was in the best interest of another, and he could sleep on that.

It was the losses that kept him awake.

Feeling Celeste’s eyes on him, he could feel a little heat running to his face, but only so much that he knew it was there, nothing more. She wouldn’t be able to see it, unless it was in the Force. “It is different, not a bad different, but its still… Takes me a minute or five to relax.” He didn’t come down from the adrenaline of a fight quickly. A few drinks helped, but beyond that? It was time and the right company.

His smile still on Celeste as he looked up to the shadow approaching. Stardust. Had to be, especially with that voice.

“How are you doing, Stardust? Its been a while.” And one too many battlegrounds.

[member="Sky'ito Yumi"] apparently knew [member="Kay Arenais"], this causing Caedyn to chuckle a little sheepishly, the way most Son's did when someone mentioned their Mom, often causing assumptions of all sorts of stories shared; "Don't believe everything you hear" He grinned in response before something warm and comforting took to his side, his gaze being drawn to [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] and bringing with her, a wave of compassion and happiness, the young man leaning to place a kiss to the top of her head, glad to see her.

"We were recently on Naboo" Caedyn explained to Sky, and soon to [member="Kat Decoria"] who arrived, also drawn by the smell of the food. Caedyn began to dish up a few paper plates, the kind that left no dishes and were disposable, perfect for these sort of outtings; "Nothing but a campfire in the open plains, it was awesome" he glanced back to Asaraa with a rather proud smirk, "And no one died of food poisoning, I was shocked!" He exclaimed mock-seriously, soon laughing softly at his own joke, something in itself that might be found amusing to the others but that was the way Cae was. Not afraid to be a goof in these light-hearted times.

"Alright so...-Who wants what? We got burgers...-We got the lot; ya' don't ask, ya' don't get" his smirk remained as he looked to those around him, placing some ready-made burgers on their plates for anyone to grab, while also taking orders if they had any special preference.

Celeste's smile lingered. Even soldiers could relax, and well they should. She could hardly imagine the toll that constant battle took on a person, both physically and mentally. Well, she certainly did see some of it in her line of work. And, living with her Antarian Ranger husband, she often heard about it – she was thankful that Asher was often spared the constant deployments, his station kept him defending Kashyyyk most of the time.

She had been about to respond, when she happened to notice a Twi'lek woman on approach. Her features familiar, green-hued skin and all – Celeste had seen her once or twice, but never had the chance for a proper introduction.

Chestnut eyes watched as Coren's attention shifted. Old friends?

Well, she supposed that someone like Coren would have quite a large number of acquaintances. But, old friends... those were rare. Celeste knew this from experience. Of course, she didn't want to interrupt a reunion between friends, but she felt rather awkward staying quiet, sitting there nearby.

“Stardust, is it?” She asked, brows lofting slightly. “I'm Celeste, another old friend of Coren's. Nice to meet you.”

And it was then that they were joined by Celeste's three year old son, Atticus. He plopped down on the edge of her blanket, a bit wary of the strangers.
