STRENGTHS

  • Refurbished - The Omen of Ash is a refit and upgraded vessel, a crown jewel among all the successes of the Ash Dragons. As such nearly every single system, down to even simple door controls, was ripped out, updated, and replaced with new systems matching the vision Khamesi Aivar had for her personal ship. While one can't say it's systems are cutting edge, they are certainly modern, with some being new products from Fojanah Heavy Productions, and the largest project it has ever undertook, even if very off the books.
  • Omen of Ash - The Omen of Ash is a flagship for pirates, maybe one of the mightest vessels ever fielded by pirates in the galaxy. As such it lives up to this name, with it's firepower and loadout hand designed for cirppling enemy ships, board them, and even hold large numbers of prisoners inside of itself till they can be transferred to more permanent accomodations. These upgrades include a heavy emphasis on Ion Weapons, good PD coverage to prevent counter-boarding, armored docking tubes able to survive at least a few sots from starfighters trying to dislodge them, and even dedicated complements of security droids for internal defense, and boarding support. The Omen of Ash may not be able to go toe to toe with many of it's peers, but those it can't fight, it can flee from, boasting greater speed and manuverability than usually seen from craft it's size, though at the cost of some of it's hangar spacce. And what pirate vessel is complete without an escape route and interferance to making tracking it down all the harder.

WEAKNESSES

  • Dulled Teeth - While it still has a formidble amount of firepower, much of it is concentrated in ion weapons that aren't known for being able to put permanent knockouts in place. It has good PD coverage, but much of it is similarly based around Ion Weapons. This means that the Omen of Ash can struggle to knock enemy ships permanently out of the fight, especially if seperated from it's escorts, or up against ships of a similar size that usually have much more...direct firepower. It is by no means toothless, but it's might comes from paralyzing the enemy, not sending them to a fiery grave.
  • Destandardized - The ship may be mighty, but as nothing of it remains standard repairs and maintenance can often be lengthy and time intensive. It's weapon and armor systems are not widely used, and many of it's internal systems only have a single known manufacturer. While it is not so beyond the standard as to be unrepairable, it needs lengthy refit time after moderate or worse damage to be back on it's feet. Further, the lack of blueprints means that anyone repairing it has to check and trace systems by hand, rather than consulting design documents for shortcuts. Even in the field this can make things difficult, as even field repairs to resotre downed systems or repressurize internal areas take a good deal longer than normal, potentially leaving the ship vulnerable unless it can turn tail and run.

DESCRIPTION

The Sith Order has expanded rapidly, and that included the invasion of Subterrel, the very place the Ash Dragons made their first mark on the galactic stage. Captured from the remnant forces defending Subterrel, Khamesi would claim the nascant Omen of Ash as her prize and payment for assissting in the invasion, keeping the veneer that the Ash Dragons were there as mercenary forces. From there it was quietly squirrled away, Khamesi using her status in 'good' standing with the Sith Order, and her control of Fojanah Heavy Productions, got to work rebuilding it from the ground up, to serve as her personal flagship.

While it underwent repairs, upgrades, and redesigns, Khamesi moved into productions ships, weapons, and sub-systems that would eventually all see themselves used or attached to the Omen of Ash, testing them in the growing Ash Dragon fleets as she plundered her way through the outer rim. The rapid expnasion of the Ash Dragons forces, and the addition of new ships custom designed for them, though also sold on the open market to maintain a cover of 'they were stolen' or 'they were bought through proxy' showed that Khamesi could lead them. Now she just needed her crown to mark her reign as their Queen. That crown was to be the Omen of Ash.

Much like the other FHP ships and weapons created for her use, the Omen of Ash was built with Ion Cannons, speed, and evading the enemy in mind. While a large and imposing ship, certainly capable of trading blows as a BC demands, it's greatest strengths were it's ability to stun, board, capture, and flee in quick order. After some testing in the heart of the Sith Order, the Omen of Ash was quietly 'hijacked', the last of it's upgrades being done at a recently acquired Shadowport, itself now undergoing refurbishing to become the Ashen Throne.

Lacking a governership, or any permanent holdings, Khamesi has largely stood unscathed by the Ouroboros Crisis despite her standing as a member of Tsis'kaar. She was no assassin, she was a raider and warrior, her time would come in the Crisis, but for now Ash Dragon ships, money, and their agents across Sith space have queitly slipped deeper into the shadows. Their connections to the Sith Order barely known, and fewer still knowing FHP was owned by Khamesi, she has been able to use these things to continue her work at the edges of the Order, waiting for the call for her fleet, her ships, and now, the Omen of Ash. While the chaos created by the Crisis was what forced her hand to move the Omen to her shadowport, it also slowed it's construction as she had to be extra careful to hide the movement of people, parts, and materials needed.

Now the time has come for it to break onto the scene, and soon enough, it will lead Khamesi and her Dragons into battle against the enemies of the Tsis'kaar, be they Sith or outsider. With the Crisis underway, it'll be needed all the sooner than Khamesi could have ever dreamed. A bastion of power much like Khamesi herself in a world of cutthroats and shadows.
