- HAPU Reactor Suite: Although the Bakura-class does not have a large armament requiring a specialized reactor, the presence of the HAPU provides more than enough power to juggle what armaments it does have, as well as its sensor array suite, tactical analysis blister, and hangar deck.

- ”We need air support!”: The purpose of this ship is as straightforward as its design - to provide dedicated, significant fighter & bomber support from behind the main battle line
- Fast: While its defensive systems could be considered ‘average’ at best, the Bakura-class is relatively fast considering its size, able to outpace similarly sized ships that would otherwise pick her apart with ease.

- Lightly Armed: Unlike the far larger and more formidable Callides-class Heavy Carrier, the Bakura’s role as a support carrier precludes it from being able to pose any real threat against similarly sized vessels via firepower alone. It is capable of lending fire support en masse with other ships that escort it, but its fighter and bomber squadrons are the real teeth available to it.
- Lumbering: Although it possesses above average speed, the Bakura is definitively not the most agile of ships, and therefore should not be deployed within striking distance of ships that would be able to take advantage of its inability to maneuver accordingly.

After filling many holes within the Eternal Fleet’s roster of vessels, it was decided within STRATCOM that a larger ‘support carrier’ was needed to properly organize carrier groups within the burgeoning reorganization currently being undertaken within the Fleet. Named after the world of Bakura, known as one of the Empire’s most important industrial and economic centers, this underscores the Bakura-class’s role and potential to do the same for the Eternal Fleet - namely to anchor the advance of assault lines more focused on maneuverability and firepower in lieu of air power.
Designed to work in tandem with other Bakura-class carriers, or the smaller but no less valuable Floury class carrier, these ships are fairly unassuming and direct given their hyper specialized role thrust upon them. It would be rare to see the Bakura class operating alone, given its lack of tactical flexibility. Instead, these ships are typically seen in larger fleet engagements where dedicated carrier support is needed en masse.
