Faction Baby Sitters (Silver Jedi Order)

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
The Bryn'adûl had been terrorizing the galactic south, and the rise of these tech disabling beasts had led to need for many in the galaxy to rearm. CST created plenty of new gear for this. HS1 shells, BB1 Bombs, the T-1 Slugger, and HA-2 Pikes were quickly been pushed through and supplied to Mandalorian and Jedi alike. One issue had begun to rise though. The fleet of ships, both combat and cargo, that could keep watch over the new technology. The HA-2s and T-1s weren't the biggest issue though. It was the baradium ordnance that had everyone on edge. There just weren't enough ships to watch all the freighters, and with such dangerous cargo leaving the ships unguarded wasn't an option.

With fleet issues coming up, the Silver Jedi were contacted about assisting with escorting these fleets of dangerous cargo. They were already extremely strict on the use of these weapons, so the ideas of pirates or worse getting hold of them had been a major fear. Even most of this transport fleet were hires from baradium mines. People use to carrying dangerous cargo. All they needed now was the escorts.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mig was aboard the Echo's Light, blending into the various transports and freighters. It may have been odd to some for him to be hear instead of one of ther other fleets, but this was mostly down to trust. He had worked in the outer rim long enough to know he needed to keep an eye on the freighters, even with Jedi around. The cargo ships were a grab bag of vessels, from light to bulk freighters. All carried supplies headed for the Silver Jedi, but it was the munition haulers that worried him. If any of them were captured.... There was a reason fleets weren't being sent without escorts.

"Status report" Captain Gene Whayeson requested from her station upon the bridge, her eyes on the terminal before her whilst beside her, her second in command, Lonni O'jakri kept an eye on all primary operations. The pair of them had been working together for only a short time, though they had proven to be more than a capable team standing vigil over the Vagabond.

"All sectors nominal, Ma'am. We're running smoothly, all hand's at their stations and she's looking green" Tine Henders reported from the Engineering station aboard the bridge, the Senior Officer in charge of overseeing all Engineering needs and responsibilities across the ship with his own crewman under him. His accent was thick, and his dialect often coming off as rather informal compared to the rest of his peers aboard the vessel's command center. His casual demeanor a tolerated slight against typical Naval etiquette.

"Scanners indicate no anomalies, Captain" Ticia C'heri added from the Communications and Surveillance workstation, "At present, the Fleet is synchronized and all is underway" the Cathar elaborated for the Captain's measure.

While the bridge was rife with activity, Caedyn Arenais stood upon the Observation Deck at the head of the bridge overlooking the Assault Cruiser's vast bow. From where he stood looking through the transparisteel wall, the Jedi Knight could make out the numerous Turbo-laser and ION turrets positioned all the way down towards the head of the vessel, hoping quietly that they needn't be put to use.

Being aboard the Vagabond was an unusual feeling and often brought back memories of his Father's command over the Judiciary. While the Vagabond wasn't of Imperial Design, Caedyn's position was near-enough to Veiere's own back then, that he found it difficult not to think of his Father during these assignments. His Dad had previously been a Captain within the Silver Navy, however Veiere's Son had thought better than to split his time in such a drastic way, instead assigning a Captain under him in order to ensure the Vagabond's continued contribution to the Order of the Silver Jedi in his absence.

Today however, he was present for the escort mission, transporting precious goods to the Survivors of the Bryn'adul's vicious campaign against innocent worlds whom had seen victims in the millions thus far. Sooner of later, Caedyn felt that they would be drawn into confrontation themselves, the Order of the Silver Jedi standing as the largest Jedi presence in the Galaxy, already wardens over numerous worlds and civilizations, it was only a matter of time before they would be forced to intervene; Yet the Galaxy was in tatters, there was Darkness everywhere and the Bryn'adul were but one form of this. Elsewhere the Sith Empire were still baring down on defenseless worlds, and criminality ceased for no one. Time was ever moving and opportunists were everywhere....

Kyra came to sit quietly besides Trextan Voidstalker Trextan Voidstalker , her fingers running up and down the smooth plaits of her paddie braid at the nape of her neck. She had been quieter than he had known her to be-- her energy more subdued. Her presence on this escort ship was a coincidence, the girl needing transport back to Silver Rest.

Naturally, it made sense to have her attend the supplies bound for the same location. Finding Trextan among them was just another pleasant surprise to the trip. "You're everywhere lately," she commented, kicking out her legs to give them a stretch. It was a bit boring, guarding supplies traveling through space. There were no windows, and the walls of the cargo hold were hardly a lively change of scenery. "Coming to visit the wookies?"

A bit of that easy chatter slipped into the air between them, the girl giving him a tentative smile.

"I have seen enough wookies," Trextan replied, offering a hint of a smile. He didn't, as a rule, smile very often. He wasn't as broody as he once was. A few years away from being used as a pawn by the sith, and then the Jedi had given him that freedom.

Her subdued presence didn't surprise him. When he had last seen her she had been with several other silver jedi being loaded onto some extraction vessels. He hadn't got to the bottom of what had happened with the cultists. He knew he had sensed her in a moment of strife and called for backup. When the fighting had started she had been with the cultists and her mirialan friend chained up in a warehouse bloody and beaten.

"I go where I go these days, instead of being told. Its a much better way of life. Hmm, that makes it sound as if I'm following you. I'm not, for the record."

Red walked down the stacks of crates full of dangerous weaponry. He was patrolling the cargo deck of one of the cargo ships. He had his standard armor on, along with his helmet already on. He had more limited weaponry on him, including his lightsaber, dual pistols, flashbangs, smoke grenades, knives, and his blaster rifle. He had been assigned to one of the larger cargo ships, to protect the cargo. He lifted a gloved hand to his helmet. "Pitt, come in. Found anything?" Red asked his little pit droid over the comms.

"Nope! All clear for me. It is way too quiet... It feels like I'm being watched..." Pitt replied.

Red sighed.
"Paranoid little bugger," he muttered under his breath. "What was that?" Pitt asked. "Nothing, nothing." Red replied.

"Just get back here. And don't get distracted."

"Distracted? When do I get distracted?"

"Just get over here." Red replied. He then contacted the bridge crew on the ship. "Red, reporting in. All clear in my sector." He told them. Then, he shut off his commlink, and continued on patrol. This was going to be a long day.

Kyra grimaced, catching the subtle connotation of his words.

They had come a long way since their initial encounter with the Trandoshens all those moons ago.

He had helped her back then. And he had helped her here again. Kyra had had a chance to read the recent report. She knew it was him who she owed thanks to. He had headed The operation that had retrieved her and Acaadi from the sith. What do you even say to that?

“...You can, you know. I wouldn’t mind. “ She still didn’t understand how he knew where to find her. Of all the people in the universe, she didn’t expect his face to be the one waiting for her on the other side of that ordeal.

She shifted uncomfortably, still embarrassed by what he had found.

“Did you... linger long enough? ...for the report...” she asked, her voice growing rougher. She refused to think about why she hoped he had gained clarification.

It never happened.

Starship: The Ki-Adi-Mundi
Objective: Escort Cargo Fleet

Denerian was becoming tired of the Byrn'dual. Unlike the Sith, they were true monster's. However, new weapons were created. Weapons that could defeat them. However, today his problem wasn't Byrn'dual Debauchers or gargantuan organic warships. Today, he was escorting some the dangerous weapons known to man.

"The Infernal Light is in too tight. Send a tight-beam transmission. Tell them to move" The orders were blatant but effective. The Jedi Admiral knew better than to travel alone, and with the Vagabond under Captain Gene Whayeson and Caedyn Arenais along with a Mandolorian warship under Mig Gred Mig Gred , and a multide of Silver Naval ships, he was more than comfortable. The weapons were safe from pirates and the scum that sadly inhabited space.

The Ki-Adi-Mundi stood out from the rest of the fleet. It was large and bulky, but extremely powerful. However, it maintained it's escort duty by being at the rear of the fleet, constantly scanning for enemy vessels and pirates alike.

"Send a message to the Vagabond . As follows: How's it holding up Caedyn?"

"It's a very big galaxy, think I'd struggle to follow you around it. And I didnt stay. Certainly not for any report. You and the other jedi seemed to be safe so I thought it would be best to be on my way. I had a misunderstanding with a Hutt cartel the next sector over and now I'm here. Though I have always wanted to see the kashyyyk. Not the temple though."

It was starting to seem as if he might have been stalking the young zeltron, he realised. She might have caught him off guard with a dose of pheromones - something he had worked out after the event - but they hadn't been that strong.

"Did they hurt you?" he asked. It was a question that burned, but not the one she might have anticipated.

Kyra blinked hard, looking down to her cuticles. Blood bubbled up under her nail as she picked, grounding her. She took a deep breath, trying to think of nothing else. Images of Acaadi, hanging broken on that wall, came unbidden to her. Had they hurt her? She wished it had been that simple. She gave a choppy exhale, choosing to not answer.

“I’m here now,” she told him, her voice firm.

“The children were saved. The cult disbanded. All is as it should be.” Something something the will of the force. Caedyn Arenais reminded her of it often. Her skepticism seeped into her tone. Kyra had been given no choice but to work with the sith. Acaadi’s well being had depended on it. Rationally, she knew that. But emotionally...

She felt a bit of an imposter, sitting there besides him. A pained silence filled the air, a question building in her.

“How did you find us? No one- we didn’t put in a report.” A youthful oversight. Maybe if they hadn’t spent the morning bickering...

Some lessons were hard earned.

"As it should be..." he murmured. It sounded like jedi rhetoric to him. Impose your view on the world and then declare it the will of some higher power. No responsibility that way.

"Sorry, didn't mean to take you back there," he apologised. "Leave your nails alone."

The sith cult was no longer abducting children, but the Jedi of the galaxy were still out there and actively testing children for the Force. The cycle continued.

"I am very, very strong with the Force Kyra," he explained. "It frightens my father, and it tends to perturb people that I'm no longer under the 'care' of any temple. You are emotionally noisy," he added.

"I happened to be in the city. I should not have called for help, I should have just dealt with it."

It was time to return home, she was born on Kashyyyk and not a Wookiee, it was uncommon but with the Silver Jedi making it home for so many years there were children of Kashyyyk not Wookiees. Dreidi was nervous returning home, usually her parents would be waiting and ready to greet her but she was avoiding them now. She was still angry with them for lying to her, hiding the truth from her. She was old enough to know the truth! Thirteen was mature! Wandering the ship, Dreidi had a light step as she poked her nose around the different areas of the ship, curious to see what was going on with the ship as it made its way.

She stepped into the room and looked over at two unfamiliar faces, well one moreso than the other. "Hi." She waved, there seemed to be some kind of tense air in the room but Dreidi wasn't that bothered. The man she had no idea who he was, he looked old though. The girl was someone her dad had trained, she knew of Kyra more than recognised her face, been ages since she had seen her dad training people. He tended to stick to staying indoors more now unless he gets lost and thinking he needs to training Padawans again. She bit her bottom lip thinking on her dad, she wanted to throw a fit again but no point right now.

Flopping into a chair as she groans. "Sooooooo bored! Can't the ship go faster?" Dreidi whined as she was fed up of exploring the ship now. Her attention span might not be the longest...

Mig continued to watch the scopes as R10 flew the small ship through the convoy. Everything was good so far, but the Mandalorian couldn't help but be... uneasy about all this. It was just too dang quiet. It didn't help when he heard the Ki-Adi-Mundi call on a freighter to get moving. He sighed keeping his eyes peel before getting an alert.

"Something just left hyperspace. Moving in to investigate." The ship quickly turned, flying towards the new vessels. He looked out, finally catching sight of some ships. The modified vessel would soon get closer, and finally spot the ship. There were a trio of GR-75 transports flanked by eight Marauder-class corvettes. Ok. It was just another cargo convoy, right? He was still suspicious, but they did seem like.... Wait.

"Convoy this is Echo's Light. State your business." There was no response. Mig adjusted a couple a frequencies and tried again. "Convoy please respond." Something wasn't right. One of the astromechs aboard, V-1, then whistled something. "A hanger? Oh osik, that's not a convoy!" Mig said this just as multiple turbolasers flew past the smaller ships, and fighters poured out of the hanger equipt transport. Mig knew the Echo definitely couldn't handle this alone, and R10 clearly had the same idea as the ship quickly turned away.

"We've got company!"

Kyra frowned at Tristan, countless words bubbling to mind as his statements. As her mouth opened, a new comer came crashing through. Kyra blinked as the small blonde asserted her feelings. "D-Dreidi?" She echoed, shock in her tone. She shot Trextan Voidstalker Trextan Voidstalker a side glance, then turned back to the familiar face. She recognized her once-was mentor's youngest child, even if it didn't make sense to be seeing her so far from the safe confines of Silver Rest.

"What are you doing here?" Kyra let go of her poor cuticles, straining to catch sight of the place the girl had come. "Are you alone?"

The force twinged with a subtle warning. Well. Subtle for her. Mr. Strong With The Force might sense it clearer. Or perhaps that was just more of her emotional noisiness. She couldn't stop this snooty sentiment from radiating off her as she casted him a glance. Her brows furrowed, a sense of unease hitting her.

"Do you feel that?" She murmured.

Trextan managed to slip in a 'Hello Dreidi," before Kyra started asking questions. He decided not to interrupt immediately. Kyra was obviously worried for the girl's safety. She had all the more reason to given the tremor in the Force.

He nodded, closing his eyes for a few seconds. He stretched out with his senses, listening to what the Force wanted to offer them.

"The convoy is coming under attack," he confirmed. "Can you fight or do we need to get you somewhere safe?" he asked Dreidi Xeraic Dreidi Xeraic in a very matter of fact way.

"How's it holding up Caedyn?"
Captain Gene Whayeson and Caedyn Arenais both glanced across to the Comms-Station as Ticia C'Heri broadcast the message for the bridge to hear. Frankly, Caedyn wasn't certain he recognized the voice, however they seemed to know him well enough, atleast to be speaking so casually during a Naval Assignment.

"Friend of yours, Master Arenais?" The captain inquired with a slightly disproving tone, turning back to focus upon her station and the continued running of the Ship.

"Sounds like it, doesn't it" Caedyn mused, making his way over to the Catharian Officer and nodding to him. Ticia stepping aside so that the Jedi Knight could speak into the mic and respond in kind. "This is Caedyn Arenais" He replied to Victor Akani Victor Akani , "To whom am I speaking?".

"Captain, the Echo's Light are reporting hostiles" Lonni O'Jakri informed her aloud.

"Confirmed!" Ticia echoed his report as Caedyn stepped aside and the Surveilance Officer once more took to his station. "I'm reading three average sized vessels, transport class. Eight other smaller craft...-Taking up an attack formation, Captain".

"There's always something..." Caedyn shook his head, speaking under his breath in disappointment as he moved to return to the observation post and watch as the hostile craft were in-bound.

"AA guns primed, Shields to full. Prepare to engage!".

Dreidi looked over to Kyra and shrugged her shoulders. "What are you doing here? Are you alone?" In a tone that was somewhat mocking, she didn't need to be coddled by Kyra, the fellow Padawan wasn't much older than her, close to her sister's age and she wasn't going to let Kyra or Nitya boss her around.

Dreidi then looked at the other person then back at Kyra and shrugged her shoulders with a sigh. Asaraa, her Master, wouldn't want her disrespecting friends and fellow Jedi. "Sorry." Dreidi said quickly, "I am on my way back from CIS seeing Asaraa. Yes I am on my own, don't need a babysitter!" Dreidi crossed her arms.

Looking around when the two older people stood up and then Trextan stared down at her, defiance and bravery was display. "Fight better than you probably, lets do this!" Grabbing her training saber with only a small fumble with the stupid cloak she had on that was for someone twice her size.

The courier quickly darted into the group of freighters, as Mig began to call out.

"Ok all you haulers get to the back. We can't afford all that Baradium going up. If one of you is hit... it won't be pretty." The Echo's Light swung around The Vagabond to face the thread once again. Twenty four starfighters of various designs came into the fray, and the two GR-75s began to open fire with heavy ion cannons. The cannons aimed for one of the cargo ships, ready to disable and allow a Marauder to swoop in and dock to the vessel.

The Echo's Light would quickly start to attack the oncoming fighters, particle cannons rattling. "When did pirates start getting this smart? Converting old transports?"

Red looked around as alarms started blaring in the freighter. Pitt ran up to him. "What's going on?" Pitt asked him. "I don't know, but I think we're under attack." Red replied. "That's not good." Pitt said. Then, the ship shook, and power went out. All the lights went out, and it went eerily quiet. Then, the red emergency lights kicked in, basking everything in a reddish hue.

"I would have to say that we just got hit by an ion cannon." Red stated. He could hear a clank further down the ship, signaling that the pirates had docked, and were now trying to board. Red watched as the other crew members headed towards the cargo deck, loaded with weapons for a defense. He knew that the ship was now on red alert. He could hear over his commlink that all non-essential personnel were now evacuating the ship. Well, Red decided to consider himself essential to the defense of the weapons.

He raised his commlink to the rest of the convoy, sending out a distress signal. "This is Agent Red, onboard Silver Jedi Cargo Ship 193-771. Our ship has been disabled, and the pirates are trying to board! Requesting reinforcements! Does anyone hear me? We need reinforcements on Silver Jedi Cargo Ship 193-771." He said.

He turned to the hallway connecting the cargo deck with the rest of the ship. The other soldiers were setting up a defense here. Red could hear the sounds of fighting coming from further inside the ship. Here we go.

Kyra looked to Tristan in a manner that suggested they best get Dreidi somewhere safe. It hardly mattered-- wasn't much safe space on an under siege cargo ship. Unless you counted the floor panels, that was...

"Put that down..." She told the girl tiredly, taking a step away from the buzzing length of the saber. "They're not even in here yet-- Come on," she gestured they all get out of the open, ducking behind some crates and casting a warily look around. What to do, what to do. Protect the cargo seemed like the no brainer-- but they were just padawans. Well. She was. For the first time, she hesitated. Maybe she should break somewhere safe?

"Can you force shield yet?" She asked Dreidi, putting off Trexan in fear he'd sense her distress. Emotional noise and all.

Caedyn watched from the observation deck as the Pirate Fleet approached on an intercept course opening up on the supply convoy, behind him Captain Gene Whayeson could be heard issuing Orders across the deck.

"Mason, get a boarding party ready to depart for that ship, I don't want any of those supplies being lost to some blasted pirates" she growled aloud, though the crew knew it wasn't aimed towards them in any way. She was a hot headed Captain when confronted with the likes of pirates, she kept her mind focused like any good leader yet wasn't afraid to show her frustrations when challenged like this.

The Lieutenant Commander would refer to the comm's of his station, giving orders to Security Personnel designated Vega-One to prepare to board one of their own ships, as the pirates so clearly seemed intent on taking the fight to a close and personal level.

"Evasive! Get us ahead of the Convoy" Whayeson continued as the smaller troop dropship prepared to disembark many levels below in the primary hangar; "Focus ION fire on the lead vessels, mann the AG-2G's and take out those approaching transports before they make dock" she exclaimed, turning her gaze to her own terminal to get a read of the situation.

Meanwhile, Caedyn's thoughts moved to Kyra Perl Kyra Perl as the notion of a boarding party had been aired. 'Kyra...-Are you confident enough to join one of the boarding parties? These pirates are looking to board one of our ships' he spoke through telepathic means to his Padawan, the distance between them doing nothing to deter his ability to reach out to her, opening and holding their sustained connection in order to also empower her own means of responding to him.
