Region: Expansion

System: Antmues System, Auril Sector

Suns: One sun; Main Sequence Star; Dwarf Star with a spectral classification of G2V

Orbital Position: Fifth planet in a sytem of six planets.

Moons: Two natural Satellites - Kessa (habitable), Japre (unihabitable)

System Features:

On the Parlemian Trade Route

Baalia - Fifth planet in a system of five planets - Habitable

Moon Japre - Gractau Listening Outpost on the surface.

Coordinates: In the Auril Sector and Galactic Republic Space. Also very near to the Parlemian Trade Route and the Roche Asteroids are not far away. Baalia is in the same hexagon as Metalorn.

Rotational Period: 24 hours, 12 hour day/12 hour night

Orbital Period: 360 days = One year

Class: Terrestrial

Diameter: 12,756 km in diameter.

Atmosphere: Type 1-Breathable

Baalia's atmosphere is a thin layer of gases that surrounds the planet. It composed of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.9% argon, 0.03% carbon dioxide, and trace amounts of other gases. This thin gaseous layer insulates the planet from extreme temperatures; it keeps heat inside the atmosphere and it also blocks the planet from much of the incoming ultraviolet radiation from the main sequence star which the planets of system orbit.

Baalia's atmosphere is about 300 miles (480 km) thick, but most of the atmosphere (about 80%) is within 10 miles (16 km) of the surface of the planet. There is no exact place where the atmosphere ends; it just gets thinner and thinner, until it merges with outer space

Climate: Temperate; 4 distinct seasons - Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter

Gravity: Standard

Primary Terrain: Significant types of terrain that can easily be found.

Demonym: Baalian(s)

Major Imports: None

Major Exports: None

Though Baalia doesn't import or export any items but produces a lot of agricultural products.

Affiliation: The Ruling Counsel of Baalia, The Tenth Fleet of Baalia, The Galactic Republic

Major Locations:
Capital City of Seano Naimi on the continent of Bormea.

The Osin Baths: Considered to be on the oldest still yet surviving places in Seano Naimi. They have been the heart of the city for millennia. It is rumored that the city was laid out then built around the site of the Baths. Over the years the city continued to grow, culminating into the current capital city.

The building which houses the Baths are from what is called the Ancestoral Period and those in the immediate vicinity are from the Classical Architectural Period. There are three Architectual Periods and they are Ancestoral, Classical and Modern. Every Baalian child learns about the three Periods when they are of school age.

The Ancestoral Architectural Period refers to the time of the Jemhau and Kymni, those from who most Baalians are descended. Some refer to the Osin Baths by its ancient Jemhau name, Thermae Arum Osin or Baths of Osin. The meaning of Osin has regretfully been lost to the sands of time.

Yaltyn Spaceport: A large and bustling port of entry or exit for those journeying to Seano Naimi.

Ijynth Military Base: Also located with the confines of Seano Naimi City, it is the Headquarters of all Commands of The Tenth Fleet of Baalia.

Culture: The people of Baalia draw upon the religion of Woecism, the religion of the Ancestors, which has been passed down by both vocal and written methods through the generations.

Woecism draws upon a diverse set of ancient and hermetic motifs for its theological structure and ritual practice. It was a diverse religion with no central authority or figure defining it. Also, it was divided into various lineages and denominations, referred to as traditions, each with its own organisational structure and level of centralisation. Due to its decentralized nature, there is some disagreement over what actually constitutes Woecism. Some traditions, collectively referred to as Traditional Woecism, strictly follow the initiatory lineage of the Ancestors and consider the term Woecism to apply only to such lineaged traditions, while other eclectic traditions do not.

Woecism was typically duotheistic, worshipping a god and goddess traditionally viewed as a mother goddess and father god. These two deities were sometimes viewed as facets of a greater pantheistic godhead. However, beliefs ran from hard polytheism to even monotheism. Woecism celebration follows approximately eight seasonally based festivals known as Sabbats. An unattributed statement known as the Woecism Rede is the traditional basis of Woecism morality.

Baalian society is one of peace who do everything possible to avoid violence, but they acknowledge that at times it is necessary and will do what is necessary to defend themselves. But violence is not a Baalians first option of choice.

Technology: The inhabitants of Baalia are not a highly advanced race. They are a mixture of the ways of old and the technological advances of the present. One could say the people of Baalia are as technologically advanced as the people of Naboo. They have traveled space for many a year now and have weaponry equal to that of Naboo.

The Medical Community of Baalia are working tirelessly to help those who call Baalia home and the citizens of the Republic. Their motto, "No being of the Republic, of the Galaxy should have to suffer."

History:
Many a person, as well as those of the Royal Family, can trace their lineage directly back to either the Jemhau or to the Kymni or to both. The Jemhau and the Kymni lived on Baalia for many millennia and are the Ancestors of those who now call Baalia home. It is not known which of the two are responsible for the bringing of the religion of Woecism to the Baalian people.

For many a millennia, Baalia was a peaceful world. That was until the Dark Times. A time of Civil War and strife, when chaos ruled the planet. Origins of the Dark Times have been somewhat shrouded by the passage of time, yet one theory remains prevalent.

Human life was said to have come to Baalia, some 60,000 years BBY and the Jemhau and Kymni are said to have appeared around 15,000 years after.

The then Rulers of Baalia, members of prominent families from all seven continents, could or would not agree upon how their world would or should be ruled and by who. Each prominent family thought they were the ones destined to rule. This most believe was the onset of the Dark Times. Then at the height of the Dark Times came a woman, Biala, and a man, Rohnhar, where they were from has also been lost to the sands of time. Together they brought peace to the warring factions of Baalia, uniting the planet.

This peace has lasted to the present day.

The people of Baalia have for the most of their history, kept themselves removed from Major Galactic Affairs. It was the wish of the Ruling Counsel, the Royal Families to strengthen Baalia before taking a more active role in Galactic Affairs.

There have been events which have affected the galaxy as a whole, the time of the Gulag Virus is one such time. There was no known cure and like many other planets, Baalia closed its spaceports to interstellar travel, in the hope that they could prevent the deadly virus from coming to their world. Another was the Rapture, as with other worlds across the Galaxy, people disappeared from Baalia, never to be seen again.
Over the millinnia, the people of Baalia have tended to shy away from Galactic Affairs. They are not isolationists by any meaning of the word, they only want to get the affairs of their world under control as best they can before venturing out into the affairs of the Galactic Republic and others. Only recently have Baalians felt strong enough as a people to venture forth from Baalia and meet peoples from throughout the Galactic Republic and beyond.

Military service is not compulsory, but many young people see it as their duty and serve in The Tenth Fleet of Baalia without question.

Notable PCs:
From Continent of Bormea: Karrie, Callie, Sarai, Mari
From Continent of Ukanan: Ian, Christian, Kristanna

Intent: Baalia is the homeworld of Karrie, Princess and Senator to the Galactic Republic and a host of other characters.

I'll be taking over this submission.

First thing's first, neither of your links at the top work (the image link and the credit link) - please either remedy this, replace them with a new image and source, or remove it entirely.

Secondly, you mention a lot of additional planets in the system. If these are not canon they will have to be submitted at some point also - or removed if they are not absolutely necessary. Not every system has a tonne of planets, and even if it does they don't have to be mentioned until they're made unless they are, as I say, completely necessary to this submission. Remember that edits can be made later through the submission modification thread if required.

I need some more information on these; even if you simply add a description of each into the culture, there needs to be an expansion on who/what they are. I checked our great SW Source (wookieepedia) and found no mention of either.

These are supposed to be significant demographics. Please name the highest population of species on this planet.

On the continent of Bormea, Old English (Adapted to be a subform of Galactic Standard Basic) On the continent of Ukanan, Gaelic (Adapted to be another subform of Galactic Standard Basic)
There is no such thing as Old English or Gaelic in the SW Universe. You're welcome to rename them and add in their real-world equivalent in parenthesis if you wish.

Could you please expand upon this. What features of the more advanced SW cultures does this planet use tech wise? Which does it tend to shirk away from? Is it more technologically advanced in one area than another? Or likewise, less so?

You must fill out a culture for the planet. What are their customs? What is their society like? Is there a class system? Do they enjoy any form of art? Etc. As mentioned above, I'd like some sort of mention of the Jemhau and the Kymni here.

I would also like a significantly improved history. You're very brief. Remember that these submissions are here to add lore and flavour to the site, people need to understand what they're coming up against when they visit a new planet, and its history is a key part of this. Expand upon the war which caused the darkness. Were there any other key events? Think of Earth, how expansive our history is. A lot of things could potentially have happened. If there was sentient life on the world during any significant times during the official SW timeline, how did this effect life on-world? Likewise, how did events such as the Gulag Virus or the Rapture - site-wide events - effect its people?

If you require any assistance with regards to info on the Site's timeline, you're welcome to shoot me a PM.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them.

Don't forget to mention me once you've seen to these edits. I know there's a lot here, but do not be put off by it.

  • I’ll need you to credit each image you use, with link, and artist (if this is possible).
  • The demographics table doesn’t make sense. You list the population as 7 billion yet the number of individuals is only about 16,000. Even the ratio seems to equal 76, not 100 if it was a percentage.
  • The history is very light on details. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of thought into this, so expand it out more, let the reader know some of the things which have happened. When did humans arrive? Have they had any role in major galactic affairs? What is their attitude towards the rest of the galaxy? And so on.
  • If they have contact with space it’s almost impossible to imagine that they don’t import or export anything considering how many people there are here. If nothing, at least list what the planet produces a lot of.

When ready please mention me.
