SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Shield Buster: Most deflector shields can be pierced with this unit's integrated shield buster. Located on it's front paws, the droid is able to utilize the weapon to create a hole in a deflector shield for a limited time. As the buster is a standard model it is not capable of penetrating shields that are specifically made to resist busters.
  • Advanced Sensor/Tracking Kit: This droid was outfitted with an array of sensors and scanners so that it can track a myriad of lifeforms through all kinds of terrain and conditions. The advanced sensing units on this droid make it exceptional for tracking stealthed enemies or hidden lifeforms.
  • Repulsor Mode: For a limited time, the B.A.R.K. is capable of sustained flight via the repulsorlift technology used in all four of it's limbs. The repulsorlift can only allow six-ten minutes of sustained flight and does not work in zero-gravity.
  • Joined Minds: All B.A.R.K. units are capable of a planetary level sync. Not only does this let them work together in vicious hunting packs, however it also allows their owners to use them as a field-level source of communication in the event that communications are compromised.
  • Droid Brain: The droid brain that this unit uses allows it to create the facsimile personality of a loyal hound dog. They are extremely friendly and obedient to those who are coded as allies, but vicious and unforgiving to any enemies. This droid brain allows the unit to take on enough personality for it to border sentience.
STRENGTHS
  • Well Defended: The armor make-up of this droid makes it very resistant to energy based attacks such as blasters as well as gives it a strong reinforcement against lightsabers.
  • Advanced Rifling: Thanks to Locke & Key's integrated VAARS rifle, this droid has an extremely versatile means of engaging an enemy. Outfitted with blaster, EMP, armor piercing rounds, pyro, cryo, and antimatter rounds the droids are capable of delivering a devastating offensive in their own right.
  • Environmental Protection: With the Ultrachrome finish and numerous sensors that allow the droid to detect environmental conditions and negotiate them without taking grievous damage to their systems and body.
  • Shield Buster: The shield buster that this droid is equipped with allows it to temporarily disable a part of a deflector shield, creating an entrance for it and others to infiltrate through.
  • Hive Minds: With all B.A.R.K. droids being interlinked it essentially means they are each others eyes and ears, making it impossible for one to be caught from behind if another is covering it's rear. In the event a B.A.R.K. unit is hacked, it will be effectively cut from the Hive Ming program.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP/ION: As all creatures crafted with technology and circuitry, the B.A.R.K. units are capable of being disabled by direct fire or sustained combat in an ION field.
  • Hackable: The droid brain utilized to give these droids their advanced thought process is not hardened against a remote hacking. Although it is difficult it is not impossible to reprogram one of the B.A.R.K. units and patching into the mainframe.
  • Sonic Technology: Sonic-based tech is capable of playing havoc with the units sensors and scanners. Sustained damage from a sonic weapon can damage the droid brain, causing a number of minor malfunctions, such as system cut offs and even a forced shut down for up to thirty minutes.
  • Power Usage: The B.A.R.K. I is a very advanced piece of technlogy, however for it to operate at optimal condition it needs to be fully charged after eight hours of sustained operation time. This time is an averge time based on a series of trials with the droid in sustained usage, however it can be slightly longer or shorter based on the programs the droid is using.
  • Uh-Oh: A very unexpected byproduct of the advanced droid brain is that the droid can, over time, unlock some level of independence that borders on sentience. This sentience is capable of misconstruing programmed directives. While the droid brain makes them work well autonomously, they can also become rather difficult to control for those who upset their sentient conscience.
DESCRIPTION

The B.A.R.K. MK I is the first line of semi-sentient military Akk-Dog androids. These units were designed from head to toe to be exceptionally useful companions in the field of battle. Starting with their advanced droid brain that allows them a faux sentience. The droids have very neutral and loyal demeanor's when first activated, however over time their owners and users can imprint upon them making them more personable. These personalities can sometimes prove difficult to control, however it has not often turned into a question of loyalty, merely a question of obedience. The BARK units are augmented for battle on extremely difficult terrain, their ultrachrome finish gives them an edge in extreme heat and cold, as well as provides a decent defense against blasters and lightsabers. One of the most-often used functions are the sensor suites that the hound employs. A myriad of sensor/scanner systems are used to ensure these hounds are expert tracking units, capable of sniffing out the most difficult targets. They are extremely useful for scouting and commando units, as well as police units searching for unlawful individuals or escaped prisoners.

Locke & Key's VAARS assault rifle turns the dog from dependable to deadly. With the numerous rounds the rifle employs, the dogs are capable of exterminating an enemy when needs be. They are also outfitted with a powerful stun blaster to ensure they can detain a target alive. Like many droids, EMP/ION tech can play havoc with their advanced systems and even cause a permanent shutdown if they are employed properly against the droid.

One of the favored assets of the droid is the ability to utilize repulsor tech, this allows them to quickly and easily negotiate difficult terrain. The B.A.R.K. is considered state of the art and is the beginning of Dynetech's automated attack dog field.

So an interesting sub
so droids are usually optional for balance but as a combat option we need to look at it so
Balance wise
Minor -1
Very High +2
High +1
Very High +2
Low -1
Low -1
Very High +2
Overall rating +4 up to you what you do next.

Also power crystals are a rather rare crystal so I am not sure they would be able to be on a minor submission, although individual field disruptors could work in a similar way and work.
