As Aurora Industries continued their modernization project, the engineers in the company began designing a new turbolaser to go along with the company's newer weaponry. While a new long-range turbolaser had been created, the engineers decided to develop a strictly close range weapon for up close broadside actions during naval combat.
The AW-Tx02 "Scorpii" Turbolaser was thus created, boasting a greatly enhanced stopping power and rate of fire over other turbolasers. Siaber crystals, as always, were at the heart of the new weapon, but the scientists at Aurora had modified several of the internal components of the turbolaser to create the effect they wanted, such as enhanced capacitors and galven coils.
