STRENGTHS
  • Durability :: The Matrix Armor and Beskar ward off considerable damage thrown at the wearer; especially directed-energy blasts such as blasters.
  • Civilized :: Living in a More Civilized Age, it seemed prudent to add a little something 'extra' to the beskar. Phrik accents adorn the forearms and shins of the armor allowing for longer, sustained contact with a lightsaber (for blocking); which is in addition to the rest of the armor -- beskar in particular -- affording glancing-blow protection elsewhere.
  • Shielded :: As a full suit of metal armor there already exists a certain protective shielding to EMP, but that wasn't enough. A tricopper underlayer was added to distribute and dissipate the Ion energy while warding off electromagnetic interference (EMI) and system-frying damage from an electromagnetic pulse.
  • Sealed :: Since it is a full suit of armor, it was a relative easy task to make it vacuum proof. In atmo fresh air is piped in through some standard filters (helps against smoke, pollutants, and such). The intakes instantly seal up due to the pressure change if exposed to vacuum, and the built-in life support system takes over.
  • Flight :: Dual exhaust, self-stabilizing jetpack enables the wear to soar through the air.
  • Quiet :: Its no ninja outfit, but it is surprising quiet being made of mostly metal. Care was taken in crafting, aligning, and securing the various plates and binding materials.
WEAKNESSES
  • Loud :: If a Mandalorian falls over in a forest, everyone hears it -- the armor is made of metal and it is heavy, it will make noise.
  • Weight :: As a heavier than average armor, not everyone is fit to wear it. Without sufficient physical endurance training, stamina, or general genetic fortitude it can tire the wearer and restrict their movement.
  • Jetpack :: While not made of tin, a jetpack is a complicated machine and more easily damaged than the rest of the suit. Oh, and in the worst case scenario it explodes.
  • Life Support :: An eight-hour supply of oxygen and power for heating/cooling is available in the event the armor is sealed due to environmental conditions.
  • Civilized Buckler :: Glancing lightsaber protection exists over much of the armor, but sustained contact is only possible using the lower arms and legs where the phrik is concentrated.
  • Blunt Force Trauma :: Like many armors, concussive force and other acute inductions of blunt forces -- a Wookie with a sledgehammer, perhaps -- leave a lasting impression on the wearer. Those impressions might even be lethal; certainly far faster than trying to shoot one's way in. Everyone knows you need a can-opener.
DESCRIPTION
Where is your T-Visor? Alora Vizsla, where is your T-Visor?

In the time since leaving home, wandering the stars, and then eventually finding the Mandalorian Enclave, Alora Vizsla had a lot of time on her hands and not a lot of Mandalorian companions. With her hobbies in mechanics and cybernetics, and a few pilfered caches of rare or lavish materials, Alora took the same approach with her armor as she did with her ship. Why buy something when she could build it? So, she did. Not all at once -- and Alora still hasn't stopped tweaking it -- but in time it came to resemble a sleek suit of armor. A touch heavy for most, fit to her form (so staying fit's a must), but a creative take reflecting both her heritage and individuality.

The suit's designed to keep Alora away from the enemy by jetpack allowing her to get her own shots off before finding cover. Its enhanced durability against energy weapons -- including lightsabers -- covers the most common forms of people trying to kill her; and the armor isn't lacking in protection against other forms either (just doesn't stand out compared to the host of armors in the galaxy). There is an extra layer of defense against EMP and Ion-based attacks, but with the weight and built-in electronics, Alora doesn't need a zapper to instantly drop her. T-visor or no T-visor, it is a pain to see out of a helmet with such a small window unless you had a heads-up display. Unlike some people, she is Force Dead so 'just use the Force' doesn't apply.

Within the interior and on the exterior of the armor there are connections and anchor points to add additional, supplementing gear; exchanging modules for more advanced versions down the road is also possible. A modular design for a growing Mandalorian who needs somewhere to spend her credits.
