SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Affordable: The biggest draw of the AV-90 is its affordability, as the "vehicle" is little more than a platform for mounting various types of different weapons.
  • Modular: The AV-90 is capable of utilizing a variety of different N&Z Umbrella Corporation weaponry, depending on what its current mission profile is.
  • Sturdy: The large chassis of the AV-90 means it is quite sturdy, and capable of handling the recoil of all but the largest weapons.
  • Versatile: The AV-90 can be either towed or airdropped into position.
  • Wheeled: On worlds where electromagentic would interfere with traditional repulsorlifts, the AV-90 would still be able to move thanks to its wheeled undercarriage.
WEAKNESSES
  • Immobile: The AV-90 does not come equipped with any sort of onboard engine, forcing it to rely on other modes of transportation to get to and from the battlefield.
  • Large: The AV-90 is a physically large piece of equipment, which can make it difficult to transport at times.
  • Deployed: Once the AV-90 is deployed, it takes several minutes to reconfigure the vehicle into its "transportation" configuration, meaning that it generally cannot be redeployed elsewhere in the heat of battle.
  • Vulnerable: The AV-90 offers little to no protection for its crew, though the platform itself is relatively sturdy.
  • Wheels: Because the AV-90 uses an archaic wheeled undercarriage, it is not as easy to move around as other repulsorlift based artillery systems.
DESCRIPTION

Although artillery has held a dominant battlefield role for nearly thousands of years, not all armies or military organizations can afford to field such pieces of equipment in meaningful numbers. To remedy this deficiency, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has once again teamed up with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation to create an affordable yet effective alternative to more expensive self propelled artillery walkers: the AV-90 Artillery System.

Unlike most other artilleries, the AV-90 utilizes a wheeled undercarriage instead of repulsorlifts or walker legs. The AV-90 is also highly modular, capable of utilizing a number of different N&Z Umbrella Corporation weapons. Whether its for anti-infantry, anti-armor or anti-aircraft duties, the AV-90 is capable of fulfilling nearly any battlefield role, and on a budget to boot.

Of course, that comes at a great cost: the AV-90 is little more than a weapons platform in of itself, and offers nearly zero protection to those crewing it and no way of moving under its own power. AV-90s should never really be involved in any sort of direct fighting unless they are heavily supported by other troops or placed into fortified positions.
