STRENGTHS
- | Like Fish in the Sea | The ATI/IH-01 Aquatrooper Armor is designed to excel in aquatic environments, giving a significant edge to its wearer compared to most other types of underwater operations armor sets in the Galaxy due to its intuitive design and features. Imperial Hydras are able to traverse through large bodies of water at high speeds, with excellent maneuverability and directional control. They are able to move and maneuver just as well as any aquatic-based life form with little training.
- | Gill System Rebreather | The ATI/IH-01 Aquatrooper Armor features a rebreather mask that functions much like the gills of a fish, allowing the wearer to theoretically stay indefinitely underwater as the rebreather processes the aquatic environment's water and leeches oxygen from it, giving an indefinite supply of oxygen without the need for cumbersome external oxygen tanks. Should the system fail, the integrated life support system takes over and allows for the wearer to retreat to a safe location to repair their rebreather.
- | Fish out of Water | As expected, the ATI/IH-01 Aquatrooper Armor is completely impractical to use outside of an aquatic environment. It becomes heavy and hard to maneuver in on dry land due to the nature of the waterweave undersuit as well as not being designed for land-based operations.
DESCRIPTION
The ApexTech Industries Imperial Hydra Aquatrooper Armor or ATI/IH-01 for short is an aquatic armor set suited for underwater operations for largely ocean-based planets. It provides the wearer excellent protection against a large majority of weapons graded for usage underwater as well as protection from the hazardous depths of the deep blue.
The ATI/IH-01 is equipped with two large floodlights on the back that peek out from over the shoulder area - these provide illumination in even the darkest depths of the sea, piercing through murky or deep depths to provide the wearer ample lighting to operate in. This in combination with their advanced HUD system allows for those wearing the armor to see clearly even in the poorest of visibility conditions while underwater to better combat aquatic threats.
The ATI/IH-01 is outfitted with a thrusterpack designed for underwater usage, allowing wearers to swim through water at high speeds, with shin mounted maneuverability thrusters and webbed swim flippers giving providing additional agility and maneuverability while in water, thus essentially allowing them to become just as nimble and agile as any aquatic-based life form. Should the armor become breached, it is capable of self-repair as long as the damage is not catastrophic and is capable of 'resetting' itself in the form of flushing/venting water that may have leaked into it after it had been breached.
