with the Sucess of the AT-AE. the R&D team noticed that with the Main walker's speed it was vulnerable to being pinned down and ambushed, so they created the AT-AS or the Advanced Terrain Armored Scout walker. the walker was designed to be able to quickly rush forwards and ambush any opposing armored positions that might be attacking the AT-AEs and pinning them down. equipped with a LO-14C and a LO-35R the walker is well suited to oppose both armored and infantry units
