STANDARD FEATURES
  • Includes a troop bay capable of holding up to 12 troopers or 24 combat droids.
  • Automated fire suppression systems in each compartment, along with hand held fire suppressors in the troop bays.
  • Safety Harnesses in troop bay and pilot seats rated for even high velocity crashes, allowing for the organic pilots and troopers to remain safe during even the most violent of crashes.
  • Pilots have access to ejection seats
  • Standard Sensor Package allow the ship to plot courses through hazardous situations. Detection packages include a radar/lidar suite, missile detection and early warning system, altimeter sensors and gyroscopes to assist the ship in tracking itself and flight paths in atmosphere and space.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • 4 FIE-1 Engines provide large amounts of thrust and maneuverability with the craft, especially when the power has been diverted to the engines.
  • Has the ability to shift power away from primary weapon systems into the engines, bringing the laser cannons and missile tracking system. This allows for the ship to move much faster and get out of bad situations in a pinch.
  • Weapons are all synced together utilizing the Eagle Eye Targeting System allowing for missiles to utilize advanced targeting and engagement methods. This allows for the missiles to be fired in almost any direction.
  • Both the cockpit and troop bays are sealable allowing for atmosphere to be maintained in one or the other regardless of hull breach location. Pilots have access to a backup air supply hose in case of breach.
  • 35mm Autocannon fires a belt of ammunition consisting of a 1:1:1 ratio of Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot, Shield Piercing Anti-Tech Fin Stabilized and High Explosive Fragmentation Incendiary. This ratio can be modified per mission to allow for more specialized loadouts, either by changing the ratios or removing a round type entirely.
  • Defensive package of the vessel includes Phrik-A Composite Armor plating consisting of Phrik-A plates, Duraplast-E, FM-001 and FM-002. This offers a wide base coverage against both active and environmental threats the ship might encounter. This is topped off with a top of the line shield generator in the Svalinn Shield Generator along with chaff and flare launchers. This overall defensive package offers great coverage of the ship in regards to a variety of situations, giving pilots dependable armor protection alongside a good shield and countermeasures against threats.
  • Vessel is powered by an Atin Isotope-5A reactor offering the best in class power generation and fuel efficiency. This allows for the vessel to operate for long periods of time without needing to refuel.
STRENGTHS
  • Bring the pain: This ship is armed to the teeth. With a 35mm autocannon meant to engage heavy vehicle armor, laser cannons to fend off fighters or other targets and a missile payload to match, this vessel certainly brings the noise to any fight. Whether its gunning down infantry in the open, smashing a column of tanks, or bringing a building down around someone's ears, this ship is certainly armed for the job.
  • Defensive powerhouse: The ship is outfitted with heavy armor, good shields and access to defensive countermeasures. This allows for the vessel to not only deal with a variety of threats, but to also have reliability even in the most austere of environments.
  • Surprisingly Maneuverable: This ship for looking like a bus, handles surprisingly well. Especially when power is shifted to the engines of this vessel, this ship can pull some pretty good maneuvers. That being said without the power shifted to the engines, this ship can still turn pretty tight and considering how slow she naturally flies she can make some pretty tight turns compared to the faster smaller fighter craft.
WEAKNESSES
  • No hyperdrive: So yeah, pretty cut and dry. If there's no space ship to ferry these craft into and out of system then congrats you're stuck wherever you are. And in a vessel that isn't particularly fast good luck if this is your ride in this particular scenario.
  • Low numbers per squadron: This isn't a space superiority craft, and as such it's not meant to take part in the numbers game that is space superiority combat. The short version is, if there's an enemy small craft presence in the area while you can rely on the turrets to keep the enemies at bay, if they focus on these ships you're going to be in trouble.
  • You're either slow, or you have almost no guns: This ship has two modes of operation for the engines. Either at standard operating mode where this ship flies a bit slower than most smaller craft in no small part due to the weight, or at a high powered mode where all the extra available power is shifted away from the guns to the engines. This only leaves the vessel with the fixed forward facing 35mm autocannon as an armament, as the laser cannons and missile launch systems will go offline. So if you're gonna run, you better run and kick it into high gear because you're main defenses are now gone.
  • Ship has no consumables: So aside from the fuel that's in the Atin-class Reactor, this ship has no consumables. That means no food, no water, nothing aside from what you brought with you that's strapped to your person. That's even for the pilots who only have enough room in the cockpit to bring a battle belt's worth of emergency supplies in case of a crash landing. Which only includes a blaster pistol, a combat/survival knife, a couple of food ration bars, and a canteen of water. To put it simply, if this ship is stranded away from supply lines, crashes, or is otherwise indisposed and unable to return home, whatever you brought, is what you got. And considering the troop bay isn't very large to begin with, I hope you brought a lot of ration bars.
DESCRIPTION
The third iteration of the research and development of the Assault Transport line of vessels, the Warthog takes a very specific role compared to the other two transports. This is in its capability to deliver a small team of troops or slightly more droids, and then smash whatever opposes them with a brutal display of firepower. The Warthog was designed around a single weapon system, the M-40 35mm Autocannon. With the massive hitting power, high rate of fire, and ability to cycle custom munitions through the weapon this weapon was perfect for the aerial fire support role. This was then paired with a pair of Deimos laser cannons to allow for aerial defense, and a missile rack not only capable of sporting the smaller SIM-1s and 6s, but also a pair of mounts capable of supporting the significantly larger SIM-2s or SIM-5s. This allows the vessel to carry an almost obscene amount of firepower, while being able to transport a squad of troops to the field of battle.
