As the World Falls Down

The grin on Trixter's face was wide and he was very happy to be playing off his disguise. For now. He knew that this man could very well be playing off him as well. So he decided not to take anything far just yet.

Putting his card away he straightened himself up. "I am here to show you our new catalog," he explained, "You know how important it is to keep up with the times."

He kept to himself and controlled his urge to search around him. He could feel others nearby, but his small connection to the force made it hard to tell if it was his target or not. Still. He could tell, based on this mans greeting, that he had some sort of power here. So he would play off it.

Glyph was back at her side the moment the first sign of panic came from her, holding a hand on her shoulder as she leaned against Hondo and speaking to her. "Felicity, Felicity are you ok..." He stared at her face, worried and a bit unsure if someone had hit her or what was going on. He stared at her eyes, checking for any signs of poisoning and then reached out with the force ot break off any mental infiltration. "What is it Felicity."

Her head was just killing her. Stupid headaches... Why did they always come with the future? She pressed her hand to her forehead as she swayed in the arms of her body guard.

"Vision..." she murmured, "Gone. So many. Just... gone. No sign of-"

She hissed again nearly doubling over in pain. Another flash. Voices, feelings, names, places. All a blur. She could get almost nothing from it. And it only hurt her more. Nothing. A blonde woman reaching out. Angry.

Grandmother.

Why did she think that word? She didn't have grandparents. They were all gone. Her eyes teared up, her freckled nose scrunched with the incredible discomfort she was feeling. She didn't know what she was saying now. She buried her face in Glyphs shoulder, closing her eyes, desperate to block it out, as if what she was seeing could be banished just by closing her eyes.

"Not natural. Can't. Can't come back. They can't come back. The dead can't talk!"

And just like that, it was over. She panted for breath, Hondo squirmed uncomfortably next to her, looking more upset than she felt. She'd gotten so used to these episodes. And now they seemed more frequent.
Something was coming.

Jaster rushed next to Glyph side covering his back, his blaster at the ready if the princess injured by an outside force. "Hey is she ok!" Jaster questioned the other guard, "No external force seen, sir."

Jaster hated being in the dark but he had a job to do and it required him to keep an eye out. Jaster pulled out a medi-kit from his speeder bike, he passed it to Glyph in case the princess needed it. He kept his eyes peeled for anyone else out there.

Glyph watched her, he had no idea what to do and instead did the only think he could do and closing his eyes he blocked otu any mental or force connections that came with her pains, and took them onto himself as now he looked like he was going to die from the pain that she was feeling. "H-hey... buck up, ill take on your pain and sadness for now, no need to be upset Hot head..." Sadly was he couldn't really react to Jaster's unease or Hondo's upset nature too, both life form's own emotions adding on to Felicity's own amplified one. "H-hey Jaster. Do me a favor, walk that way, please. Head hurts...." He didn't need to explain his empathy, but for every level of emotion they felt, him taking it on himself doubled the effect while it left the original one exposed to it unaffected at all, so until her episodes ended he would hold her pain and sadness for her.

The girl swayed on the spot, shaking her head as Hondo stamped his large taloned feet apprehensively. Her head was hurting less now Stupid head pictures. She was having so much fun out here too. How often did she get to enjoy the outside on Imerria? Almost never. Why couldn't she get hit with this during a storm? She could just lay down on her bed and wait for it to blow over. She didn't want to go home and go back inside and lay down. Not today.

"H-hey... buck up, ill take on your pain and sadness for now, no need to be upset Hot head..."
"I'm not... sad.. you idiot," she panted, "I'm in...pain. This is what... pain looks like."

She pressed her hand to her head, feeling some relief, little by little. Glyph. He must be helping.

"Stop, Glyph. It's okay," she sighed, shakily removing herself from his arms, "I'm okay now. I'm used to this. It... fades."

She reached out, patting Hondo on his furry snout. Poor Hondo. He was the real victim here. All he wanted was a nice day out and about, and here she was seeing crazy images in her head.

He laughed, a pained laugh, but he laughed as he still knelt there and let the emotions and pain stay on him until they did infact fade. Until then she was just going to have to deal with the fact she was not allowed to feel a damn one of these with him around. "A-any ways." He tried to smile, obviously failing as he looked at her and he himself shook as he stood. "I think you should be fine now..."

Jaster was confused by the order, he couldn't leave both people who were in pain. Then he remembered the briefing he had from the other guards, Glyph was a Jedi or something and sucks emotion of some kind. Jaster had emptied his mind, forcing him to take let his training take over acting souly on instinct absent emotions. He took the rains of both the animals, calming them down. This lessened the emotion going around, "Sir, officer Jaster Awaud will leave the 74-Z speeder bike to let you return, I will be 30 meters north of this location, reach me on Comm channel 3-1 when you have finished." Jaster said in a monotone voice.

Jaster walked with the animals as a steady pase. He kept his eyes strait and emotions in check.

Hondo growled as the other man tried to take him away from his mistress, planting his two large feet firmly in the ground. He tossed his furry head, making it quite clear he wasn't going anywhere without her.

"Oh Hondo, of course I'm not letting him take you. How could you even think that?" She smiled, pulling his furry head into a gentle half hug. The beast growled contentedly in response, bumping his big horned forehead gently against hers. She nuzzled him back, grinning.

"Go with him, Glyph," she instructed, "Hondo and I will be along shortly."

She was feeling better at once, although she was tired. Seeing nonsense always left her feeling tired. What poor timing. She was sure Owain was probably awake by now. Maybe she should sneak into his room. Fall asleep in his bed, just to mess with him. She pulled a piece of dry meat out of her pouch, feeding it to her Tauntaun for absolutely no reason. Okay. She was allowed to spoil him now and again.

"Question, whats the job of a guard." He said with his eyes closed as he sighed and sat back down, nodding to Jaster. "Go on ahead, i dont think we we get into any trouble out here..." With that his head turned back to Fel without once opening his eyes and moving to fall back to the ground on his ass. "Ugh, how do you deal with this constantly Fel..." He rubbed his head, it was subsiding but damn it was a pain in the ass and probably worse than most other times he did this. Her emotions weren't that they were strong, he can handle that. But it was a primal raw pain and emotion that gripped at him so intensely that was causing him pain now.

Felicity continued to pet the tauntaun, letting him nuzzled her, almost pushing her over. Food really did buy love.

"How do I... deal with it?" Felicity blinked, tilting her head to the side as she considered his question. "I don't really think I can answer that. I've been dealing with it for so long. Lately it's been worse though. When it happens, sometimes I need to just sleep. For hours. It's like when you get a migraine, except I see weird pictures when they hit."

She sat down on the ground next to him, knees pulled to her chest. She watched the sun get lower over the hills as the clouds gathered thicker above.

"Sometimes people ask me what I see, or if I can tell their future too. I never can and I can never figure out what my visions mean. It just hurts a ton and tells me nothing. Do you know how many people look me in the eye and call it a 'gift'?"
She snorted, picked up a rock and threw it hard off the top of the hill.
"Gift. If this is a gift, whoever gave it to me can have it back."

"Roger that sir." Said Jaster, he saluted and took a step back. "I will still be 30 meters north atop that hill." Jaster was still in soldier mode so all orders were to be exacted. He let go of the rains of both animals, he left a pack of his meds and supplies, "I will request you guys stay longer from command, me and Glyph should be enough for security out here, take your time." Jaster jumped on his speeder bike and left, goin to the hill.

"Same could be said about my empathy you know, it can be a gift and a curse, a double edged sword for someone that is strong enough to hold their own against the pain and suffering that it brings. It is something that bites and eats at your heart, burrows its way into your mind until finally poof... the end has come and you can't even think straight anymore. When that time comes though, you lose yourself, you cease being you and you become something... wrong. Its when that happens that what the jedi like to refer as falling to the darkside actually happens." He laughed, he himself was no saint, he was dark to the core in how he drew power to fight and protect others, but it was to protect others which is why he had not 'fallen' yet.

The girl tilted her head as she watched the clouds gather. Maybe a storm was coming after all. That would be unfortunate. She was enjoying her time outside so much. Sometimes the storms would die down for two or more days. She was sincerely hoping this was one of those. Probably not though, judging by those clouds. Might even rain too.

"Unfortunate," she said after a moment, "Hey Glyph? I appreciate what you did earlier. I really do. But this is my 'gift' to deal with. Whatever pain it brings me is something I am meant to feel. Alone. Do you understand?"

She was just happy Owain hadn't been there to see her have one of these episodes. She was always afraid of scarring him with her powers. What would he say if he saw her collapsing, muttering something about death and ghosts? He'd be so freaked out by her, he'd never kiss her again.

"Fel, its not because of my job or because i still do love you that i want to protect you, yes it does play a part and does make it more important that i protect you. But its not the overwhelming reason as to why. Why i protect you is simply a very clear reason and that is that no one no matter who they are should suffer. Hell if i had never met you, if you were a complete stranger to me right here and now, i still would be doing this for you. Stop thinking you are so special." He smiled at her and slowly rose as he dusted himself off. "And i can feel your fear Felicity. Im going to assume i know what is about though."

Her eyes flashed with anger for a moment. He thought she was refusing to let him hurt himself for her... because she was 'special'? Or rather, she thought she was special? She snorted and looked away, rubbing Hondo's clawed feet to distract herself. She didn't stand up yet. She never got to sit on actual ground.

"Oh yeah? And what do you think I'm afraid of? Since you know so much about everything?"

"The future, who knows about your pain, what you see, who might feel those same things. Everything. You fear the unknown just like anyone else and that is something that people can't deny. And you dont need to get angry at me for speaking my mind and telling you what it is, and its not like im going to stop either. After all a friend is there to help another and if my words touch you in any form, even if they hurt or make you angry, but as long as they make you think. I did my job. Its simple really, im not here to cater to you, im not there to say you are right or wrong, though i will. Im here to say one thing Felicity. You are human, fragile and strong. Smart and brainless. Everything that makes you human is what you are, so next time you think on your visions, know that there are those around you that want to help you and will help you... and upon saying that i assume that your fear was derived from likely the one person who has not seen this yet that you care about. Am i right?"

Jaster finally got his mind in line and was totally confused about what had just happen, those briefing were useless when it can down to it. Command with orders he needed to pass on,

"Commander Glyph, this is Jaster," he said over his comm unit, "Command has just informed me that a slight rain is coming in for the night, if you and the princess wish to camp out there I'll retrieve a camp unit and some droids, if that is your will." Jaster would be off tomorrow morning but he loved the rain so he might send his crew to the ship while he enjoys the weather if they wish to camp or not.

He really didn't know how to shut up. He just kept talking. Showing off, just knowing everything. Answering questions she didn't even ask. Sometimes Felicity genuinely hated space wizards. The only one she met that didn't try to teach her something in a totally condescending way was mom's friend, Vorhi. He was a good teacher. Graxin was too, but he always made her feel guilty.

"Yeah, yeah," she snorted, "I forgot. You can read my mind, right?'

Hondo bent down to nudge her and with a sigh, she rose to her feet. He was getting jittery. Probably the clouds ahead. Maybe if they were lucky, it would rain without wind. That would be nice. She enjoyed rain. When it rained on Naboo, she liked to go outside and just walk in it, under a parasol of course. Mother would throw a fit if she noticed her splashing in the rain outside. Father wouldn't care, of course, but with the rain usually came the wind too out here. Shame.

"You wanna go back inside already, Hondo?" she asked, patting his neck, "You're a weird one, ya know."

She took one last long look out across the dusty wind ravaged hills. It wasn't beautiful. It wasn't luxurious. I was barren and dusty. And Felicity adored it. This was home. She smiled faintly, climbing on Hondo's back.

"Let's go for one more ride before we head back. We have time, I think. The storms still a ways off." Hondo stamped his foot in protest, but Felicity pulled out a chunk of dried meat and waved it in front of his head. "Please?"

That seemed to be enough. The Tauntaun growled low and without giving Felicity enough time to clear it with her body guard (as if she would anyway) he took off once again, heading in a long circle a little ways out first, but slowly making his way back around. She was in no hurry. She liked to feel the wind in her face. She didn't get out nearly enough, and never without an escort. Nobody ever thought she could handle herself, despite protecting herself during the Naboo invasion, and surviving her last kindnapping. Hm. That was actually probably why security was so tight around her. The kidnappings. Why? She was hardly anything special. Unless it was her gift they were after?

"They can have it," she whispered into the wind.
